Has anyone seen the ad on Channel Ten for the Australian version of The Biggest Loser?

Applications can be made to http://www.biggestloser.com.au

I wonder if this is 2006's X-Factor? Hopefully it will do well if the success of shows like Celebrity Overhaul are any indication..

i haven't saw this ad yet

but i reckon it will be axed after a couple of episodes

I also haven't seen the ads for it. However, I think it will do amazingly well. Obesity is such a problem here in Australia. An Aussie version of the show might encourage other ppl with weight problems to get fit and slim down.

How exciting for you! Though I must say, I see weight loss as something more personal, then something to share with the whole world!

So if you get on the show, would you eat all your favorite bad foods before they start filming, or would you begin to detox your system, so its not so much of a shock when the diet starts?

I think we need an "Australia's Biggest Gainer" too.

Biggest loser. Are talking about John Howard here? He is already the winner of that show.

Hi All

Just wanted to say that I have also applied for the Biggest Looser, and hope that it will start me on a life change for the better whether I make it on the show or not.

Cheers to all  !!!!!!!

Does anybody here think TV has sunk to new lows when viewers sit around watching each other get rid of the fat they accumulated by sitting too long in front of the TV with snack foods to eat ??. . . *wondering how many packets of biscuits and chips got consumed during last nights show*. .  :-/

Good yer!
Even if you dont get on, try and run in parallel with it.

I feel so happy for the people on the yank show, (except for the blonde hairdresser that made the final - she is just the epitome of a self centred b#tch!),they did so well.

Australia's Biggest Gainer or Beat the Battle of the Stick Figures would be better.

Hehehehehe same here. I've been wondering since I saw that anounced and when I clicked on your link and had a look... I still had no idea who she was. But good on her for losing all that weight though. Is that anything why Caroline Rhea was chosen to host the US version? did she lose a lot of weight at some point, or was she just enough of a B-star to play a host on a reality show?

Hey.. does anyone know where I can find out some more info about Bob Harper? All I have found is that he's a personal trainer to-the-stars who was born in Tenessee. Well Duh. Is he gay or just very New Age? it's a bit hard to tell...  :P

Yup, it was one of Sabrinas Aunts from the show. I thought that was an odd choice. Meanwhile I saw the ad for the show with the contestants. Wow, some of them are huge, I look forward to seeing how much they will loose, and how they go about it.

So, anyone watching this show? All I've watched so far was the first weigh in, so I could see everyones weight. Now theres nothing to do but wait for the show to end, and see all the before and after footage!

So whats with the host? According to the website, she's lost half her bodyweight, and went from a size 26 to a size 10. Yeah, sure! If she's a size 10 then I MUST be a size -20!! I've never heard or seen the woman before, I assume at some stage she did loose all that weight, but by the looks, has slipped up and put most of it back on...

I'm a stick, but it's not stopping me from watching this show. I feel somewhat hooked to it. At least it's more of a documentary style show rather than "reality" trash like The Bachelor, Big Brother or Survivor.

I'm really enjoying this show. It really highlights what perfect casting can do to a show, and high production values.

All of the 'characters' are identifiable, endearing and real. Each episode is turning out to be very self contained and slickly produced.

Probably the best local show so far this year.

Has anyone else noticed, that there are a lot more fat people walking in their area  now than there was before? Maybe this show is making people feel guilty or something. Good if it is. PS there are still also average people as well as good looking people walking to stay fit too, but i've just noticed more large people than before.

I think they have learnt from the past, remember Australian Survivor and the disaster that was!! It just couldn't compare to the American format. It looks like they have just followed the American format exactly (production values) and just shoved 12 Aussies as well as the host (who for the way she announced herself, we the public are meant to know her or care? :-/ )

The show is great and if it inspires people to get fit and healthy then great!!

Some of the contestants are forgetting why they are there, the immunity challenge for example, winning the bridge climb and then, ohhhh let’s eat, when the haven’t even educated themselves on what foods contain the most calories or how to calculate  ??)

It's going to be interesting at the weigh in tonight

This show makes me feel like for the amount of food i eat i should be big. I'll sit there and watch it with my chocolate and think maybe i should exercise and maybe i should get fit because if these people that are atleast 3 times my weight can do it i probably could to.... then i go back to my chocolate or grab something else to snack on.

Never watched the show.... don't intend to watch the show. I know someone who lost the eqivalent of 11 stone OR 70kg. They are now a healthy weight of 89kg. He did it between the ages of Eighteen and Twenty. Revved up his metabolism, exercised but not fanatically and changed his diet. Went from 9XL plus to XL. In the beginning he had meal replacement shakes from the supermarket for 2 meals a day and a normal dinner of protien and Carbs. Now he eats weetbix for breakfast, plenty of pure juices and 2 meals of protein and carbs. We who know this man are very proud of him. Recently I saw a young woman who was about 160cm tall. She had a button on that said 'I have lost 25 kg' I said 'well done' and gave her encouragement telling her the above story and how good she looks. I recently lost 3kg and it is damned hard if you are prone to carrying extra weight. My daughter who is twenty-eight, has a very fast metabolism and weighs 50kg, she takes after her Father's side of the family!

You watch  the disappointment on their faces next week when the amount of weight dropped is significantly less than this week's.

Everyone has a chunk that can be lost quickly.  It's the rest that is more difficult.

That is true. . the first flush of success is great. . and power to them . .but time will show how they cope when the amounts get smaller. . and some weeks they will be lucky to lose 2 kg. . the body goes into 'famine' mode. . and that is where they are headed now. . . so they just need to hold on and don't be discouraged. I hope they succeed although I rarely watch the show. . :)

Having shed 60 kgs of my own over 12 months, what those "trainers" (and I use that term loosely) force those 100 kg + people to do is totally unrealistic.  Let's hope what we see is just for the cameras and doesn't continue off screen.

Big Congrats on the impressive weight lose!  :D
Yeah i agree as well, they are taking people who have done hardly any phyical exercise and through them in the deep end with the amount that they make them do, but in the same sense they new what they were getting themselves in for on the show so i guess they weighed up and pros and cons before going into it.They do have a paramedic there 24/7 off screen. I read somewhere that someone went to do a interview with the BLs a week after they started and they were saying that they had a production meeting and the producers told them because christmas was coming up that they would only have a skeleton crew there and no paramedics so they were not to do any training over the main days for christmas..Also because they are not allowed contact with outside family members unless instigated by the producers for the show they could not see their family over christmas either and were not allowed to leave the place they are staying.

Well they had a choice each and every day whether to stay or not...I will never understand anyone voluntarily giving that much power to someone else over their lives but having done so (ie given that power to someone voluntarily) then I don't wanna hear a single whinge from any of these people...it ain't like they had a gun held at their heads and it aint like they couldn't walk away any time they wanted..and it aint even like they could argue they didn't know what they were getting into...there's been at least 5 years of this kind of crap tv with survivor, big brother, idols etc etc etc...we all know now (whether we want to or not) that these shows are made for entertainment and the producers will do whatever nasty things they want to get that entertainment...whether it's an idol judge calling someone fat or taking the treats away from people locked in a house...'cos apparently humiliating people is entertainment and so is watching other people's misery

of course I'd rather watch paint dry but clearly I am in the minority

Dara... I do not see anywhere that Paula indicates she is 'against' thin people. BTW Paula, Three big cheers for that weight loss. That's more than some people weigh. What a great accomplishment.
My first husband equates thinness with health. He is a thin and wrinkley 52 year old. Our daughter weighs 50kg but is by no means 'thin' she does however, look great. When she was about 20 he told her she was getting a bit chubby, she may have been 52kg at the time. When I weighed 57kg and weighed more than him he called me a fat slob. Some people are just too superficial.
Being a slim or thin person does not mean you are fit and healthy the same goes for being overweight. Weight has a heck of a lot to do with healthiness but it is not indicative of your fitness level. I read an article recently where a woman of 52 who was a fitness and Yoga instructor died from a heart attack. She was boney and drawn but was seen as being exceptionally fit and her death was a shock to everyone who knew her.

Weight is a factor in health of course. . but as Suzi said. .it is not the end of it.  My hubby. . weight just right. . but colesterol and sugar is being monitored as we speak due to being too high . . me about 8-10kg over my ideal and my sugar and cholesterol are great. . (go figure). .  but I avoid those who are 'fat obsessed'. . like your 1st hubby. . 'fat slob' is the fastest way to make an overweight person become very sick and it is just not a kind way to 'encourage' anyone.

I know a couple of 20 something girls who spend up to 6 months at a stretch in hospital because they cannot overcome their starvation tactics. . and one nearly died a couple of months ago . .and is not out of the woods yet at only 40kg.

Can I ask Dara how old she is?. .

Firstly, congratulations on your weight loss, however I disagree with you on this, you have to remember this is a game show, the trainers only have 8 weeks to get their teams to loose the most weight after that it is totally up to them to follow through.

WILL POWER and EDUCTAION is the key   :)

The show isn’t called the * First to be at your ideal body weight * it's the biggest looser at the end, even if the last 2 are only loose 40kg each and are still 80kg overweight if one has lost more than the other then we have a winner, he / she can take the $200 grand and blow it all on chocolate cake and put every kg back on its entirely up to them.

The way the trainers have * educated * their team about foods and being healthy along with exercise has worked over in the state's, if you watched the last one I think the guy called Big Pete, who unofficially was the biggest looser, ended up thinner than Rowan Atkinson ( Mr Bean ) he was a stick figure at the end.

It will be interesting Monday, by the look of it Bob has done a runner back to the States. the blue team look devistated :o

Gizmo I am 15, why?
57 kg is not fat! Fat is like 190 kg or whatever like some of the people on that show... I don't really care whether people are fat or thin... I just don't think fat is any better than thin?
I meant when paula said bring on the battle of the bulimics and all that...
I way like 48kg so yeah.... I'm too tall that's why I'm skinny lol :P
Hey yeah I know thin doesnt nessacerily = healthy but like my school has a sporting ecxcellence center for lots of sports and there is only about 3 fat people out of the like 200 people in the various sports.. soo go figure :D

I don't know about you, but I think the concept of someone being voted off is wrong. I thought the whole thing was a contest between these people to see who could get the most weight off? So does the person who gets voted off just get forgotten and go back to what they were doing before? Are they a lost cause? They all need encouraging, and to get voted off is just a kick in the guts (pardon the pun). Positive reinforcement is needed. Getting voted off is not positive.

Normangerman - spot on. Kids not only need to realise that they can't sit around and become slobs, but also shouldn't look like Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate and Ashley et al.

As long as kids are eating the right stuff and playing a bit of sport, it doesn't matter if they are a bit solid. We are not all built the same. But 70kg @ 190cm is a lot different to 70kg @ 160cm.

Dara - congratulations on becoming a "medium" member. You know that means you can now talk to ghosts and have your own TV show...

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,18194453%255E2902,00.html

Also missed last nights episode who was voted off??

i do agree though, i think its horrible they need to be voted off, fair enough 200 thousand is a nice amount of money, but i seriously doubt that its the main reason they are there. So why not just keep it as the "biggest loser" no vote offs, train them, educate them and prepare them to enter the real world again with the knowledge they need not to slip back in to old bad habits.

What a shocking turn of events!  This is sarcasm!  The team have decided to start thinking about the prizes & got rid of the one with the injured knee.

Actually he would've been able to lose the most & was most in need of losing.

Of course, he said that he would surprise them all at the final with the dramatic weight loss he intends to bring forth.

Highly doubtful

Nice reply! Fortunately, we probably don't need to lose 16 kilos, but if you are starting at 160kg or something, 16kg is the tip of the iceberg. 2 months probably is a bit long in that instance.

It is usually easy to lose the initial big lots (again for the larger people) but once you get close to your normal / goal weight, I think it's harder to lose those last few, and keep them off most importantly.

They are all to be admired anyway, for admitting they have a problem, wanting to do something about it, and having a go. (even harder doing it on national TV!)

I only watch this program for the truck stop weigh in on Fridays.  So why did the trainer leave?

There was an article in one of the magazines during the week where Jillian said that she did not trust herself around the firefighter, because he was charming & able to persuade people.  She felt he was going to con her.  I was extremely puzzled by this revelation.   I was wondering exactly what he was going to con her out off

Gotta feel sorry for the women, they can put on weight without even doing anything! I think it has to do with where they are in their cycle, with the body retaining water and what not. I also know a woman who while breastfeeding, could weigh an extra 4 kilos at certain times of the day due to milk on board! Its a pity they couldn't judge them on how many cm they've lost off their bodies.

Yes, Fiona put on 0.1 kg. Her team was shoked, but still bet the red team.

I'm so addicted to this show. I thought I'd never enjoy it, but I find myself eagerly anticipating every episode at 7pm. However I can't stand any other "reality" trash on TV.

I'm also addicted to this show. I'm glad they decided to do this show properly so to speak, with the same trainers etc, I don't think it would've worked had they used two unknown Australian trainers. Maybe they learnt their lesson after the terrible Australian version of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy ;)

Why after seeing Fiona pig out on the custard, did the blue team NOT choose to have her weight not count last night?  Not that it mattered at the end of the day.  I just hope that it doesn't get all nasty and bitchy like some of the Americans did.

Yeah I know, even the red team were surprised. I think the blue team will be keeping a closer eye on what Fiona snacks on from now on ;)

According to the interview with the female trainer, this group are the worst for backstabbing & gossiping & treating each other with disrespect.

She mentioned that they never do their fitness homework back at the h household & only one of them is sticking to the dietary recommendations

Hope you weren't cooking chocolate cake ozdvl instead of watching TBL!

Jo got booted.

Can anyone tell me though what the 'Twist' was that Channel Ten were advertising all weekend? Was it simply the two girls breaking an aliance with Jo by voting her out?

what I really " liked " was the female trainer kind of reverse cowgirl on top of Wal as he was doing leg curls & her chest was against his ankles

Where can I find a personal trainer like this?

Now we know why God put breasts on women . . if he gave them to men to look after. . then nothing would ever get done each day!!. .  :P  :P  :D  :D

Maybe, just maybe, that gave the big fella the extra inspiration to lose those extra couple of kgs.

We will never never know

Well, having seen some of the show, the term "man-boobs" springs to mind. Now do they count? Although, maybe you meant that as well, because the men with them usually get them from inaction (and overeating).

That cowgirl trainer that was mentioned also sounds interesting. Put me down for one too!

Couldn't have said it any better...that Tracy is really spiteful and soooo negative. I have only watched 2 episodes (plus bits & pieces) was she (Tracy) this mean-spirited at the beginning of the series? And if she was than how has she managed to stay on the show for so long? I couldn't believe her crying crocodile tears over evicting poor Cat. And when she said she felt like throwing up because Wal had lost so much weight...what a sore loser! I want her to get booted but she is a hoot to watch! Hopefully karma will give her a big ole' bite on her backside lol.

they keep kicking out the wrong people -poor cat - the look on bobs face said it all.

Tracey is the fakist person ever. "if i knew i would feel this bad i would have told people to vote me out" along with her ridiculous fake crying. She infuriates me with her we are to big on the outside world but too small in here. What annoys me more is that she will probably win because shes playing "the game" the most

I totally agree with you. I hope she is the next to go, doubt she will be though as she seems to be the one calling all the shots.  ::)

Blue team lost the weigh in - poor harry!!

Looking into next week -  I'm happy that the red team are taking over the blues room - i would have been super annoyed if someone moved all my stuff though - good seeing tracy cry.

How on earth do the blue team think they will survive if they knock off Harry, they are just going to be picked off one by one each week now, unless they mix up the teams again ::)

I feel sorry for Harry. He doesn't deserve to go. Can't stand that old freak Tracy, Mr I enjoy being an idiot Artie, or that brat Fiona.

In fact, the whole blue team sucks with the exception of Harry.

yesterdays episode was hilarious - i never seen a bigger bunch of crybabys ever. I don't understand how fiona felt "violated". If she knew how to fold her clothes and not leae everything everywhere they wouldn't have just had to through it in boxes.

I wish they would have left as the blue team is all super annoying

I feel sorry for Bob. He has to keep trying to find ways of inspiring a bunch of idiots. They say they're playing the game? I sure hope none of them have gambling habits cos they're not very smart.

Is it just me or is that Tracey really evil? Look at the smile on her face at really inappropriate moments and then suddenly when she realises she's supposed to be sad she put on that fake sadness. We saw the real sadness when she got kicked out of her room. Unfortunately she used Fiona as a surrogate for her anger - "See how bad you made her feel? She's so angry!!". Hillarious. Can't wait for her and Artie to go.

tracy would have to be one of the biggest whingers ever. The strap breaks so she gives up and talks to the camera men about how shes gonna look like a sore loser but that shes not a quitter and only when Artie fixes it does she think she better finish the race.

I wonder what shes really like coz she can't be that bad in real life. she may just need some chocolate - i know i live on the stuff - gets me through the day

Wal  once again managed to pull out a huge number & unofficially win the week but because of the competition during the week, Shane & his partner have immunity, so it's the other four under the line.

[/co this isn't spoiling anything , but the couple with immunity deliberately put on several kilograms each summit next week they will have a dramatic loss compared to this week & therefore stay above the yellow line

Artie's big fat fraud

CHANNEL 10 has confirmed a contestant on hit reality weight loss show The Biggest Loser was jailed for fraud five years ago.

Arthur Maxwell Rocke, known as "Artie" on the show, illegally used a Visa debit card to buy books, CDs and other goods.
Rocke, who then worked at resorts on Fraser Island, had only $1.68 in his account when he went on his year-long spending spree. He spent $18,700 but made no payments.

He was sentenced to 27 months' jail, suspended after eight months, and was released from prison in May, 2002.

Channel 10 yesterday said it was aware of Rocke's criminal history, but his fellow contestants had not been told.

"He disclosed it on his application, but we didn't think it had any relevance to his participation in the show," a Ten spokeswoman said.

"Whatever he wrote on his application is confidential."

The spokeswoman said the other contestants would no doubt be surprised to learn of his conviction.

"I don't know if they'll be angry, but probably shocked," she said.

Rocke, 42, from Hervey Bay, weighed in at 156.4kg when he joined The Biggest Loser, an elimination-style weight-loss show.

Yesterday, Rocke said it was "the lowest point in my life" when he was sent to jail.

"But I've been able to come out of it and turn my life around. I'm never going to put myself in that position again," he said. "It's in the past and is something I've totally corrected.

"My life is an open book and I just want the truth to be printed."

He said that after battling life on the inside, he emerged to face another battle: his weight.

"Being on The Biggest Loser has been the most wonderful thing in my life. It's given me another 20 years of healthy living," he said.

Rocke believes his fellow contestants will support him over his conviction.

"They were totally 100 per cent supportive in the house of my weight issues and this is something that happened in the past and they'll be just as supportive," he said.

Rocke's mother in Hervey Bay, Katherine Summers, yesterday refused to comment.

Asked whether her son had told the TV program about his conviction, she said: "This is his own personal business. It's up to Artie."

Court records show on September 6, 2001, Rocke pleaded guilty to fraud with a circumstance of aggravation.

At his sentencing, Rocke's defence lawyer said he was a "shopaholic" who got a "buzz" out of dishonestly using a card to pay for what he wanted.

Fiona is already pretty - she doesn't need to lose weight to be "pretty"

I do also think Christie should win - she wont though - i don't think the girls lose enough for them to be able to win

Farewell Artie. It's still ridiculous that people who have lost 25 kilos are voted off. What are they going to do now? I did hear the 2 that got voted off on the radio this morning and they said that they were going around shopping centres and when they saw people eating a donut or something, they'd tell them not to. That's good.

I also sad to hear that some of the contestants stop dieting when they win immunity, and actually put on weight knowing that they couldn't get voted off. What are they going to do when the show is over and nobody is watching? My bet is that they will go back to their old ways again. They have already shown their true colours. Pity.

I don't usually watch this show, but with the damm commonwealth games on, I've had Biggest Looser on in the background as I eat dinner. So, I don't know much about it.

So, is it normally as cruel as it was last night, making ppl eat cupcakes if they want to avoid being voted out? These ppl probably have terribly low self esteem to start with, because of their weight issues. I would have to say that these ppl are coming out of this 'competition' with severe emotional problems! I hope they get professional help for as long as they need when their time is up!

I thought loosing weight was supposed to be a positive, supportive thing? This show doesn't seem to promote it at all!

anyway, how good was tonights challenge with the handicapping in place - at least it gave everyone a fairer chance.

I would LOVE to see Kristy (sp?) win. She seems like such a genuine person. She isn't bitchy like some of the other contestants have been. She isn't pushy or manipulative either (I'm looking at you Wal lol). She sounds like she gives alot to others too, namely her 5 kids & husband, so it would be great for her to win TBL. Good luck to her.

lol, anyways, now that Wal is going, I'd also like to see Christie win. I'm hoping Adro just leaves the show, and so does Shane. I can't stand either of them.

So it was Wal. He had a weigh in this morning and came in at 129.9. He used to be around 180, and said his top weight was 197 once. He said he was going to go for the extra 3 and move to japan so that he could make some real money (as a sumo)

He has done well and I think he plans to keep losing. His wife has as well so they were both surprised when they saw eachother.

They all go back for the Grand final, and even the ones voted off can win $50,000 so that is an incentive to keep losing it. Good idea.

i think its great how when everyone goes home their families also get in on the whole exercise thing.

i didn't know they were winning 50000 here aswell. i thought channel 10 would be too poor for that

I would love to see a 'Biggest Loser' that truly IS that!. . pick entrants who weigh about the same. . make it more about weight loss and less about tactical game playing . .  otherwise an otherwise great 'loser' is booted out because of jealousy . .there has to be a better/fairer way.
Posted by: tia_ballerina, March 28, 2006, 5:16pm; Reply: 132
yeah, i agree with the choosing people the sameish weight, but not about the jealousy part, coz even thought it is a weight loss program its also a game to with $200,000 and everyones gotta do what they gotta do to win the money

Fiona is such a beautiful girl she is going to stop traffic when she is through. Poor Ruth she is totally over it Im sure all  she wants to get back to her hubby and her little boys - and I don't blame her ....I would rather stick pins in my eyes than do something so public and so humiliating and so bloody hard on national TV.....makes for great viewing  though..it's  like a car crash ...I can't stop watching.... ;D

i hope Fiona doesnt go, she deverves to be there and shes trying REALLY hard now. Ruth is just a big giver-uperer, i really dont like her, she deserves to go home in my opinion
Posted by: monstermunch, April 1, 2006, 5:16pm; Reply: 144
Yeah, Ruth doesn't deserve to be kept in the game but I think it is unlikely that she'll be booted off, mores the pity :-/

Well done Kristie! BRAVO! she did an awesome job, even beating Adro :) i commend her
I really hate how Ruth just gave up like that, just because she wasnt going to win. She didnt deserve any help from Kristie or Adro so im glad they didnt help her much

I so agree tia! She is nice enough but she's a lazy person who does not deserve to still be there! Every week she is at the bottom but gets saved because of alliances and the more worthy person goes.
I so do not want Fiona to go, but I know she will. :(

Fiona is trying way harder!

yup. I think Ruth to go also. I liked her for a while but lately she seems like she doesnt really want to be there. I'd rather someone who is putting 110% in got to stay.

I'd love to see Ruth go.

However, I think the most likely scenario is to see Fiona leave.

It's time to go........................................................................................Fiona.

Is she Fiona out of Shrek?
Is this getting like Survivor, with all the challenges and alliances and immunity? Survivor for fat people, or survival of the fattest?

it amused me, when they announced that. christie got away with it and now no one else can try it lol yay!

but didnt ruth look good on the "since she left the show" bit? good that she was able to keep it up and actually do -better- outside the house.

Yes ...Ruth is doing really well away from the camera...Good for her... She is such an attractive woman.   OK It is now official for me anyway, I cannot stand Kristie......she is a total phoney....the smiling (or should I say the  freakin crying) assasin. She might be playing to win  but she is a total two faced minx....I don't care who wins now.....AS LONG AS IT IS NOT KRISTIE. Go Shane I reckon. :P
Posted by: juugoolart, April 4, 2006, 10:19am; Reply: 155
i don't get why christie filled up on water?? why did she try to make her self heavier for the weigh-in??
Posted by: catienana, April 4, 2006, 10:52am; Reply: 156
Kristie filled up on water so she could shed all the fluid,  in the days following the weigh in. Combined with  actual weight loss - it should translate to big numbers on the scales the following week and keep her above the "yellow line". To my knowledge this tactic was not employed by the America's biggest Losers and Im surprised it has taken them this long to ban the contestants from using it as a tactic.(sunny)
Posted by: Laurz, April 4, 2006, 11:41am; Reply: 157
im just amazed that Fiona is still there and im well and truely over Kristie - theyre some bloody good crocodile tears - every week the same thing - vote - cry - pretend guilt. what a Drama Queen. Good on Adro for working out that Kristie isn't the nicest person in the world

I missed Fionas convosation with her, can someone please fill me in with what they were tlaking about??

What's with all the hate towards Kristie about? I really like her, and to me, she is very genuine, but I can tell she really wants to win, and there is nothing wrong with that, especially when the prize is so great.

I personally can't stand Adro, and I'd love to see him fall under the yellow line this week. He doesn't deserve to be on the show.

Tonight whoever wins the challenge will gain Absolute Immunity, which means they are secured a place in the finals. I hope it's Kristie :D

I am going to make a voodoo doll in the image of Christie and stick pins in it tonight.

Except I don't even know what she looks like. I just thought it might help all the people who don't like her. She might also deflate if pins are stuck in her...

Last night's show was Gold. Though  I am not a big fan of Adro's, he was hilarious last night hangin' on to that tree for dear life...saying "No No " to Bob  like a naughty little boy.....so brave of him to finally jump quite impressive. ....and Shane was so cute running down the hill with Gillian...I think those two have a little "lurve" thing goin' on ....!!!! :K)
Posted by: GlenTheAdmin, April 6, 2006, 3:45pm; Reply: 164
Best TV show of the year last night. Adro's refusal to jump must go down as one of Oz TV's golden moments.

LoL! yeah last night was pretty funny :P Fiona was annoying me though, ho she just got up there and said "no, im not doing it...i cant do it...nup im not" i was getting annoyed.
Cant wait to see tonight! man i hope Cristie doesnt get immunity, i hope Shane or Fiona does...i wanna see Christie and Adro under the yellow line this week

actually, its funny you should say that cause I thought it when Fiona didnt get the point of the exercise. Bob seemed so heartbroken. It was like he had been crushed. lol

They are both very tactile people though, Bob and Jillian. Always with the hugging and stuff... and I wish I had just a third of their energy. lol

I can't believe so many people dislike Kristie! I hope she wins TBL. I find her to be genuine, caring and likeable. And the courage and determination she has shown on the last couple of challenges has been inspirational. She has pushed herself through pain and exhaustion and come out on top! I was shocked at how pi$$ed off Adro was at being beaten by Kristie...what a sore loser. I don't think he (or Shane) likes to be beaten by a woman...well tough luck...go Kristie. My second choice would be Fiona then Shane.

so who will get the "chop" next week?

shane should as he is the bigger threat, fiona is more likely to put on weight than lose it!

it may end up being a tie anyway and fiona goes by default?

at least it will be interesting with the remaining losers back in to judge the others  8)

i missed TBL on friday :(
Was is Shane and Fiona below the yellow line?
Was Fiona the contestant that put on weight?
Are the evicted contestants coming back to vote someone off this week?
Posted by: elie06, April 9, 2006, 12:31pm; Reply: 177
Yes, shane and fiona are below the yellow line (Shane made a deal with Adro so that he won't be voted off, so bye bye fiona)

Fiona gained 0.8 kg I think, and the evicted contestants are back, but the ad said nothing about what they will be doing. I'm looking forward to TBL next week, so close to the end now.
Posted by: LadyFrew, April 9, 2006, 12:41pm; Reply: 178
You guys are all so mean lol  ;)
I'm glad Fiona was under the yellow line in some respects and that Kristi and Adro were above the yellow line, though I do feel for Shane. When I say I'm glad Fiona was under the yellow line I just felt she was ready to go home and had given it as much as she could give of herself. Shane I think has fits and starts in what he wants to acheive for the week and I think this goes against him sometimes.
Where as Kristi and Adro are consistant and keep going to the next level with everything they have. I think all the contestants that have been on have done remarkbly well and should be applauded not put down. This is one of the better shows on channel 10 and more motivated driven to help others in simalar circumstances.

I completely agree with you Rockchick. I think it's the suprise hit of 2006. I thought it would be good, but not great, and at the moment its outdoing every expectation I had of the show.

Can't wait to see who get's eliminated tonight. Hopefully Fiona, she's not even that fat anymore. Not to mention, she gained weight...TWICE! 3 times if you count the waterweight thing, lol.
Posted by: astrogirl, April 10, 2006, 8:26pm; Reply: 182
well.. I wasnt expecting tonights outcome thats for sure. I though fiona would end up going cause I thought Adro would stick to his alliance with shane.

and woah! the old contestants are back??? how unfair is that?!

and I agree re this show being good. I didnt think I would like it, as Im not a reality show kind of person (aside from BB) but I got sucked in well and truly. :D
Posted by: Stewie, April 11, 2006, 7:56am; Reply: 183
I think geting rid of shane was the smart move for both Kristie and Adro, they know that Fiona isn't a threat that's why they keep her there.  Did anyone notice that Tracie wasn't there at the end?
Posted by: catienana, April 11, 2006, 7:59am; Reply: 184
I am so loving the twist.......GRRRRRR Kristie "I promised myself I wouldn't cry at this elimination" that would be difficult darling considering you couldn't wipe the beaming grin off your face the entire time..... I believe with each viewing her true character is emerging.......Fiona is soo stunning she even looked beautiful last night doing the "ugly face" cry, my God she is a gorgeous woman......Poor Shane ....He is totally in love with Gillian!!!!! I think it is great that the others are back to shake things up a lot I hope....they all got shafted so it's good they are getting a second chance - let's remeber the show is called 'Australia's Biggest Loser, not Australia's Biggest Backstabbing Schemer' I can't wait for tonight!  I wonder how long it took to scrape Kristie chin off the driveway of the  'The White House" that night  "the others" returned? ;)

Ten will be milking The Biggest Loser finale.

The final ‘weigh in’ will occur on Friday 21st for an hour, the second last night of the current non-ratings period. The final three contestants will be put through the ropes.

Then a "twist" will occur on Sunday night at 6.30 pm, just before the launch of Big Brother at 7.30 pm: Ten is guaranteeing quite an audience that night, the first night of the new ratings survey.

The launch of Big Brother 2006 will run from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm, making for a tough night for Nine and Seven.

And a 2 hour live finale for The Biggest Loser will air on Thursday night.

Ten will be showing Big Brother Monday to Friday from that week at 7 pm, so TBL's final program will start at 7.30 pm.

Being a Thursday night it will run into Lost on Seven and whatever Nine puts up against it.

Ten has secured sponsorships for Big Brother at premiums to last year but the program is operating under an agreement with the chief regulator, the Australian Communications and Media Authority that will control the content and on screen activity of the housemates and any one else involved.

No misbehaving or waving private parts around!

This will apply to all programs associated with BB, including the infamous uncut episodes.

All straight from ENEWS.

Very VERY smart to put TBL and Big Brother on the same night. I think Ten is really trying hard to get ratings. Can't wait for Thursday 27th for TBL final!
Posted by: Dara, April 11, 2006, 4:31pm; Reply: 188
YES! Where the heck was Tracy?!??
I know Fiona is really pretty..
YEAH Shane is so in love with Jillian! Hahahaha
I think it's really unfair with the twist as they would be all energised and ready to win, like of course a strong guy will be back in and what if it is Wal? He will win for sure :S
Kristie is ok but I don't like how the judges think she's so perfect!
Go Fiona! (Even if she gained weight, only 0.9kg in total and come on, in the real world of course you will gain on some days, 0.9 isn't very dramatic, she can lose it easy.)
And she's a good player/ sport!

Way to go Harry, GO HARRY GO!!!!

Adro what a dummy spit, seeing him rip his shirt off and chuck it on the ground and the look, at least he had some comfort using one of his man boobs for a dummy, sucking on it off camera, so funny.

Just goes to show a persons true colour’s come out, sure having someone come in at this late in the game would be unfair, but here’s the magic word IT’S A GAME.
I mean giving a contestant total immunity to the finals, that’s not fair, but did you see Christie rip her shirt off and say “ No Way, I refuse, that;s not fair, it should be on weight loss “, no she shed a little crocodile tear and said “Oh, I can concentrate on loosing weight now.” ,if they didn’t have things like that in the game, I bet you the final 3 would be totally different, Wal, Harry, Shane come to mind.

I was actually hoping that either Fiona or Adro won, cant stand Christie she has been finally knocked of her pearch( didn’t see her in tonights episode state that she was sure to win, her confidence got a slap in the face ), but after tonight’s episode, I hope that Harry wins it hands down, they have wild cards in Australian Idol why not here, which mind you he worked for, he has lost weight like everyone else, so he has every right to be there, even more so since he has been out in the real world, not in a controlled environment.
As for Jillian the trainer, she is meant to be there to help the contestants to loose weight not “ Oh I’m not going to train you because you don’t deserve the money “, totally lost all respect for her, good on Harry sticking it to her. Bob and her are there for a reason to train end of story.
On a final note, I liked how previewing the next episode Christie, Adro (sulking and using his man boob as a dummy), Fiona and Jillian are in the lounge bitching about how Harry’s back, and in the background here’s Harry with what looks like a medicine ball leggin it in the pool working out.  HMMM if I were them I would workout as hard if not harder than I ever did before!!!

GO HARRY GO!!!! :D
Posted by: Stewie, April 14, 2006, 10:10pm; Reply: 215
Harry didn't make the rules, he was just simply asked to come back like  ALL the rest of the eliminated contestants and he earnt his place in the finals.  Maybe this is Karma coming back at those who ignored him before he was eliminated.  Anyhow maybe all the sooks and dummy spits should be directed at the producers NOT at Harry.  GO HARRY!!!! who needs the trainers help anyway, he has obviously done fine without them..... ;)

i just PISSED myself laughing at the end of tonights episode! Adro, Fi and Christy were SOOOOOOO funny!! LoL! good on them! :P
Posted by: astrogirl, April 15, 2006, 3:45am; Reply: 217
I was laughing too. Specially when they pulled off their t-shirt and stepped back. It was all so high schoolish.

I gotta agree with some of the other comments though. It wasn't a great example for the kiddies about sportsmanship. I'm glad my kid didnt see last nights. Adro should be ashamed of himself for being such a bad sport with the glaring and the muttering under his breathe and then the rest. Kristie and fiona should be ashamed for folowing suit. ok, its not fair. I agree. But there is a point where you just gotta stop being a five year old and be the better person and get on with the job of losing weight. I hope their kids dont see what they did. What a message to send. "It's not how you play the game, it's whether you win or not"

And as for jillian on the promo. I -love- that she doesnt want to train harry... but... isnt she paid to do a job on the show? I wouldnt think she could refuse..
Posted by: weeza, April 15, 2006, 7:57am; Reply: 218
In my opinion, Harry deserves to be there just as much as the others. He has lost more weight than the others and he has remained committed to losing weight outside the house so why shouldn't he be deserving?? Just remember that the program is called the biggest loser!!! ::)

It's easier outside the house. He's had time with his family, time to recuperate (spelling? lol). And so he is therefore undeserving of being in the house since the other contestants haven't seen their families and stuff. It's hard being away for so long.
Posted by: weeza, April 15, 2006, 10:15am; Reply: 220
You can also look at it the other way.......inside the house the contestants have all day to train and commit all their time to training and focusing on weight loss with the help of trainers....on the other hand when on the outside there are family and work commitments that prevent one from focusing 100% of their time into themselves. I think it takes dedication to be able to do it alone, therefore i think Harry is worthy to be there as contestant.  :D

i agree with you, Harry got to see his family and got there supprt etc. he doesnt NOT deserve to be there but i dont think its fair

If it is a 'Game' and tactics are used . . then Harrys return is as fair as the fact he was voted out because he was the biggest threat . . . he has lost his fair share of weight . .  and put in a big effort . . and he does have a good chance of winning.

Does it really matter if we do/don't like one of them . .weight loss and excersise is the big winner here.

What  ??) has spending time with your family got to do with being deserving or not??  :-/ if anything it would be a handicap, as others have said, being outside you have family commitments other things going on, you are not in a controlled enviroment, betcha 10 bucks that if you drop cupcakes / chocolate / chinese infront of the 3 dummy spitters out in the real world, they would pig out like they did in the past.
If he was "recuperating" (in other words slacking off),  then he would not have gotten in as the wild card.

the man boobies on adro are frightening  :o ..do u think he'll need plastic surgery to lift them up??
i want harry to win now..the other three are silly.
Posted by: catienana, April 15, 2006, 11:37pm; Reply: 226
Oh my Gawd!!!!! Last night's dummy spit was a classic.  As far as I am concerned, it is now an even playing field, the eliminated contestants all got shafted by one of those that remain , and now they got shafted by the " twist" with the eliminated contestants.  Harry has every right to be there and more power to him........Go the Greek God ...I totally want him to win....the looks on Kristie and Adro's faces were hilarious I almost bust a gut.....cant wait to see how it all ends ....just please anyone but GRRRRRRR Kristie. >:(
Posted by: Dara, April 16, 2006, 8:54am; Reply: 227
It's true! he had time to get his mind in order, to refocus on his goal while they were stressing it! it isnt fair! i have nothing against harry, any wildcard i would be against!
Fiona to win!
then christie  even tho its not fair she got pass to final
then adro
PLEASE NOT WILDCARD Harry
my little sis watched the episode and she's 8, she thought it was funny but she's not gonna go around doing that!
Well I say good on them! and tia I so agree with you what you said before!
Posted by: elie06, April 16, 2006, 9:03am; Reply: 228
I thought Adro's reaction (followed by Kristie and Fiona) was reasonable. I mean, it is VERY unfair that Harry is back in.

Then again, I don't think the 3 contestants will have any trouble getting rid of him. He's overconfident and that can work to the others advantages.
Posted by: tia_ballerina, April 16, 2006, 11:49am; Reply: 229
^ Thats VERY true
Thats EXACTLY what happened to Wal...member? he got overconfidant that week that he was gonna loose enough weight but he didnt, forcing under the yellow line and out of the game...

i was quite hoping Harry would win but after last nights dummy spit im hoping the biggest suprise is another contestant coz i don't want any of these people to win the money. If it has to be one of them then fiona should win.

You missed nothing then Gizmo.

The show ended as soon as Harry got on the scales(you pissed me off) however AJ said that Harry only needed to have lost 2 more kilos and then he'll be ahead of Adro so it looks like bye bye Adro !(behead)

Meh.

OMG WHO CHEATED! IF YOU FIND OUT PLEASSSE POST IT HERE! I don't want harry to win!

You never know... she did lose 4kg last week, same as Harry.

The Surprize airs on Sunday at 6:30, with the 2 hour final Thursday at 7:30 (which means Smallville fans will miss out)

i'm so annoyed about harry the girls need an extra chance to. the cheating was that harry took supplements at start of show so boblian kicked up a stink a** and made adro come back. poor females.
fionas trainer is creepy.
i cant wait until thursday!!!!!!

PS: in an interview with fiona she got sick and couldnt train so she thinks shell lose :(
Posted by: tia_ballerina, April 24, 2006, 9:24pm; Reply: 266
^awww poor Fi :P oh well, shes still hot :P

In the Tv Week last week it had alittle extra TBL booklet thing on the front, and in it it says...
"CHEAT EXPOSED! '...And what possibly the shows biggest scandal is still to come, with this last minute twist.
In an upcoming episode, it is revealed that one of the losers who has made the final 3 has, in fact, been cheating - but cant be kicked off.
Was the cheating intentional? How did the contestant get away with it? What will the fallout be from this scandal, and how will id change the game?'..."

Does anyone know what this was? coz i dont remember seeing any of it, unless they arent saying it till Thursdays episode...
Posted by: sillygostly, April 25, 2006, 12:18am; Reply: 267
On the show, we see that Harry has been taking vitamins and other protein supplements etc, but I don't think they have considered that as "cheating".
Posted by: normangerman (Guest), April 25, 2006, 1:46am; Reply: 268
He could have weight added to him in the finale.
Posted by: astrogirl, April 25, 2006, 10:37am; Reply: 269
In the Womens Day (I think it was) this week they had an article about that too. Two page spread about Harry taking the suppliments etc.

There was also a two page spread with Kristie and Fiona's weight loss success "plan". It was a "how they did it" thing with food they ate listed etc. I kept thinking that they could have eaten pretty much anything and still lost weight with all the training they were doing. Having a low fat yoghurt was less likely to have an effect than two hours on a stair master. But anyhoo.

There was also a smaller article about Jo. Apparently she went on a bender and got kicked out of a pub or night club or something.
Posted by: Dara, April 25, 2006, 12:44pm; Reply: 270
Ew Jo.
Fiona's face on sunday night when she was in black and white, I'm like :O
I can't wait till thurday! Please a girl to win! On 1 site it said they think adro has relationship problems like his wife wasnt pleased to see him on that visit and stuff. and lots of sites have a conspiracy bout bob and fiona and some about bob and adro lol. and is it true that jillian is gay? what do yous think?
Posted by: tia_ballerina, April 25, 2006, 1:42pm; Reply: 271
Oh ok, thanks for that. Suppliments ay....

Yeah, Fi looked really slim around the face when she was in the black and white.
Wonder about Adro...
I doubt very much that theres something between Fiona and BoB and i HIGHLY doubt Jillian is gay, she needs a man too badly :P
Posted by: Dara, April 25, 2006, 1:48pm; Reply: 272
That's what a site said lol, that they kept referring to her "partner" or something and that when asked about children she said that Bob would be donating the sperm? Lol :P
It would be so cool if bob and fiona got married lmao. But I can't belive bob is 40 he looks like 30 lol
Posted by: elie06, April 25, 2006, 1:55pm; Reply: 273

Jillian is 30. I borrowed the mag from my friend and it does keep referring to her "partner"" and she says Bob will be the father of her child. I know Bob is 40! :O That is what several sites said anyway, an 18 year age gap between bob and fi.
lol. I didn't know fiona had 2 sisters. the mag says they are beautiful specially the oldest, no way the oldest is ugly as :S

And I'm really happy for the finalists. They look amazing. (Fiona is HOT!!! :-D)

was a worthy winner. . but next year they might need to consider a separate contest for women v's men.

A woman has no chance of winning against a man when a guy of 180 kg's is pitted against a girl of 104.  . . a guy can use the benefit of his extra muscle power to lose weight faster than a 180 kg woman who needs more time to achieve the same result.

All did very well to finish the way they did in 15 weeks. . but it is biased toward guys being the winner every time.

Was anybody else annoyed that the personal trainers weren't at the finale? It was a little silly that they were just sitting there the whole time. Jillian was acting a little different than usual lol. :-p

And you can certainly tell that Ajay was a little nervous, although I hope she continues to host the show. She acts very... human, and I really liked that about her.

I thought it was a little odd that they didnt fly them in just for the weekend or something. I think the final four would have loved them there to share in the news of the winner etc. But maybe they had other commitements like filming a new series of the US version or something.

didnt some of the others look great? Shane! He looked so good. David as well! The rest I didnt think looked that different from when we saw them last.

Fiona, Adro and Kristie though all looked AWSOME. go them! As for the winner... I thought that was so great! Totally deserving.

Does Australia have any 'Personal Trainers' that could have done the job??. .  I thought as a leading sporting country it would not be too hard to find a couple of trainers from among us. ??   .I thought Jillian and Bob did well BTW. :-/

bye bye adro....

I wonder if the surprise will be all the other contestants turn up on the final and out of them the one with the biggest loss also wins money?? I think that happened on another weight loss type show...?

Just thought you might like to be reminded - you got that one wrong!

After hearing Adro on the radio Monday morning I was quite confident he would win.

The weight is off
By Sarrah Le Marquand
April 28, 2006

AS Adriano "Adro" Sarnelli was crowned Australia's first Biggest Loser last night after shedding a staggering 51.3kg, another contestant was taken to hospital with problems caused by rapid weight loss.
Artie Rocke, 42, is in Sutherland hospital with gallstones - a common side-effect of rapid weight loss.

Rocke thought he had suffered a heart attack on Wednesday as he was getting ready for a party.

He was taken to hospital and suffered another severe attack yesterday.

"Doctors said it is due to weight loss but I put it down to partying and drinking too much dairy products," Rocke said, who lost more than 30kg in three months.

Sarnelli, 26, a custom car maker from the New South Wales Central Coast, stepped on to the scales last night to learn he had lost 37.58 per cent of his original body weight.

Having weighed 136.5kg in December, Sarnelli's transformation - the result of a daily four-hour workout and a strict high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet - was the best in a field of 12 contestants.

As the winner of Australia's first series, he takes home $200,000 and a home fitness studio, but the father of one has his eyes on another prize. Just moments after winning, an elated Sarnelli and his wife Samantha, told The Daily Telegraph they are expecting a second child.

"Within the first few days of my coming home, we got pregnant," Sarnelli said, who left The Biggest Loser house eight weeks ago.

Mrs Sarnelli admitted she found her husband even more attractive. She said: "He's sex on a stick. I can't keep my hands off him," she said.

Fiona's last wish
By Darren Devlyn
April 28, 2006

MELBOURNE'S Fiona Falkiner wants more than a $200,000 winner's cheque out of her experience on Channel 10's The Biggest Loser.
As the 23-year-old fashion retail assistant from Richmond prepared for last night's final of the reality show, she said she's never had a boyfriend and hopes her weight loss and improved self-esteem will help her find her first long-term relationship.

Falkiner, who must beat Kristie Dignam, Harry Kantzidis and Adriano "Adro" Sarnelli to claim the cheque and a home fitness studio, was shocked to be told that an unofficial Biggest Loser website had been flooded with requests from men keen to take her on a date.

"I don't know what to say ... I'm a bit overwhelmed," Falkiner said.

"I've never had a boyfriend and every guy I've ever gone out with has said I'd be gorgeous if I lost weight.

"I know my weight has definitely got something to do with never having a boyfriend. I'd love to have one, though you don't want attention just because of what is on the outside. I am the same girl inside."

Falkiner, who initially weighed in at 101kg, said she was happy with her weight loss and sense of wellbeing.

"Before I came into the house I was a size 16-18 top, 18-20 bottom," Falkiner said.

"The thought that I could get a size 12 dress on is crazy!"

The finalists finished filming almost two months ago.

Falkiner is disappointed the show has welcomed back previously eliminated contestants for the final.

Sarnelli had been eliminated from the show in the lead-up to the final, but was brought back because the show's trainers, Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, felt he was entitled to have a shot at the title.

In another twist, Kantzidis also returned after being eliminated.

"I find it extremely unfair that the show could do that," Falkiner said.

"Part of the game has been to eliminate your strongest competitors and to work hard to make your way to the final."

Kantzidis is a former javelin thrower who came fourth at the 1988 Pacific Games.

Jillian and Bob looked so proud, too bad they couldnt be in here for it though, oh well...

Well it's good they all lost weight so now they can be healthy :)
I had Adro as last because he threw a huge fit when HArry came back but then got his lawyers onto TBL to make himself come back, hypocrite if there ever was one. Also I don't like him. :P Also if Harry won It would be easier to complain :P
Also I wanted a girl to win as it is a bit unfair for them.

Just in case anybody missed it Aj did say: "We'll see you next year" as in, we'll have another Biggest Loser ready for you next year!

So that's really good. I definitely think TBL is the best reality tv show i've ever seen, so it's nice to know it's coming back.
Posted by: sillygostly, April 29, 2006, 2:23pm; Reply: 334
Definately. Although I hate reality TV trash, I've really enjoyed TBL this year, although I really couldn't care for the American version. And yes, the footage on the special Sunday night edition of TBL will contain mostly new footage from what the ads indicate. :-)

I also miss SVU, although I assume it'll be back from around 9pm next Sunday. And that's good so Ten can finally air any MA episodes which they may have held behind at that timeslot.

Yeah I agree. I think everyone could tell she was nervous, but I think she spoke really well and kept the interviews short and sweet. The only thing she needs to work on would be the hand movements.

Did you also know that Artie is gay?
Posted by: SuziH, April 30, 2006, 12:59pm; Reply: 342
Artie was hospitalised because he developed Gall stones which are a common occurance in people who lose weight so rapidly. People can live without a gall and it is often removed through keyhole surgery. His life is not in any danger.

did anyone else notice the difference between the american and australian version of TBL... the aussies didnt lose as much as the americans.

I'm talking they're figures really didn't look as tiny as them.

Do they do everything the same? or are we just a whole lot more slack? I did notice a lot more lounge room chatting in the aussie version.

I hope if we do a second season we have a lot more competitive contestants that will do all they can to lose the wait and not so much whinging. Just so that theres more kristys.. if that makes sense.

oh, n I can't pick this... does anyone know if Bob is gay?! that boy is SOOOOO FINE!! :D
Posted by: normangerman (Guest), April 30, 2006, 2:07pm; Reply: 344
The reason they were no as big is because the Australian version used the metric system, while the American version used the Imperial system. Remember that 1kg = ~2.1 pounds

More on Bob Harper here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Harper

Hope that explains it all.
Posted by: lurveit, April 30, 2006, 2:13pm; Reply: 345
I mean in their figures though.. not talking numbers.

they all seemed to still be quite round in the face, stomach, bottom...

they did lose though, which is great  :D but not as much as i've seen the americans drop too. a family friend said it was because of the time between the last shows taping and the grand finale... aussies got a lot shorter of time than the americans whom get almost a year... i duno if thats true though.
Posted by: Rockchick, April 30, 2006, 2:41pm; Reply: 346
Some though dropped massive numbers. C'mon - 50, 60 kg? The later is almost my entire body weight!

Each and every one of those people deserve the new life they have been able to create for themselves, all in the spotlight of the entire nation.

To critique their current appearance on eBlah (whilst sitting on our backsides) is abit rich, I think. They're all beautiful.

ps. lurve your avatar, lurveit!   :D

n thank you!! tink is so cute  :) lol

Yeah, I remember seeing Bob and Jillian on Rove when TBL:Australia first started. By this time they would probably have recordered most of the series. Anyway Jillian commented on the Australians being abit more 'laid back' (ie. lazier?) than her American counterparts. She said it took more for them to get into the gym than her past groups.

So you might be right. That said, I think this series was perfectly cast. I haven't seen a better lineup of contestants on any other reality show here in Australia. It was very slick, and it had heart.

I'd even go as far and say Channel Ten should try and resurrect an Australian Survivor and get the same team to do it.

It's only on because of the high-rating State of Origin.
Posted by: Dara, July 1, 2006, 12:38pm; Reply: 389
I hate state of origin!
Gah!

That's rugby right?

Anyways, I would also like to see a reunion special at the end of the year for the previous contestants. It would be great to see how some of them look, and I am especially interested in seeing Fiona and Kristie since those two looked the best at the reunion earlier in the year.

Yeah I wanna see what they look like! i wanna see who's gained and who's kept at it!

ah for effing sake!! will they stop replacing House with the biggest f**cking Loser!!! its alright when its australian, but when its a bloody US special!????? gawd... channel ten has no more excuses... season 2 for house has finished.. so there is now point in prolonging it anymore!!! at this rate i am going to have bought the DVD box set before the next house episode is aired!!!!

ARGGGGGGG!!!!!

Iced, I've said before that it's because of the State of Origin. It makes perfect sense to air The Biggest Loser instead, not even Prison Break is on.

prison break is crap anyway
but state of origin?!?!?
i want house!
sport sucks!

How freakin c**p is it that they put a show just about losing fat on for 2 hours and dump House! I am pi**ed. If you want to lose weight, or if you are just interested about it, why sit in a chair for 2 hours watching others.. Get your lazy **** up and get fit!...

I hate these stupid reality shows.. Reality is everywhere... I dont want to watch someone elses during my time out... This is just dumb. Put my Wednesday night comedy BACK ON!

I thought it was coming back this year...

I might be wrong.
Posted by: elie06, July 25, 2006, 12:34pm; Reply: 408
It starts again next year. It's being filmed at the end of this year.

You can probably expect Ten to start it Jan 16 again, like this year.

Posted by: elie06, August 3, 2006, 4:01pm; Reply: 413
Yeah, I wanted to watch it but it's on at the same time as It Takes Two finale.

I remember thinking this thread was huge early in the year, but it's nothing compared to the BB one.
Posted by: normangerman (Guest), August 3, 2006, 7:21pm; Reply: 414
Well, there was no need for physical violence as they used verbal violence against each other.
Posted by: Dara, August 3, 2006, 8:44pm; Reply: 415
Huh? What? Violence?

Yeah this thread seems small now :P
Posted by: coctosan, August 6, 2006, 7:08pm; Reply: 416
Australia's brainiest loser

Mmmm, its good to see the yummy Fiona back on screen  :P

I just wish Sandra would cut back on the over-cheesy and somewhat tedious weight/size innuendos.

They do that every time one of these shows is on!
A few would be funny but it just becomes boring when its overdone....
Posted by: Dara, August 6, 2006, 7:23pm; Reply: 417
:O On fionas 2nd go sandra stopped and fiona goes pass and she starts reading the q then. wasted like 8 secs. no fair!

Posted by: normangerman (Guest), August 6, 2006, 9:08pm; Reply: 421
Jo won it in the final against Shane and Kristie.
Posted by: Dara, August 6, 2006, 9:30pm; Reply: 422
I thought shane won?
Darn Jo. Fluke!
Some have gained heaps.

she only won cause she got that easy Food category in the first round.

I was hoping one of the blokes would win. Or anyone actually, except Jo. lol
Posted by: Dara, August 7, 2006, 5:06pm; Reply: 424
yeah trust her to win with food.
she's gained weight back.
