Has anyone here changed over to any alternative fuels like LPG, or looked into it? I understand Holden are bringing out an LPG Commodore soon, which I'd imagine will sell well with the cost of petrol likely to stay reasonably high in the future. Perhaps even more manufacturers will go this way.
Are you ready to move away from petrol? :-/

You can harvest the methane from your poo or other organic matter and use the gas for cooking amongst other things.
I once read where the Australian Army had a car running on methane using pig poo!
If we learnt to recycle more we would use less of our finite resources.

I used LPG for years in a previous car. It was good 'til the price spiked. It takes more LPG to get the same kms as petrol. If the price of LPG is 50% of petrol it is better to use petrol. The price is artificially high after tax was added a few years ago. :(
I look forward to hydrogen being used. . all it emits is H2O. Petrol companies have been buying the patents for hydrogen inventions for years. . one day somebody will win the rights back and we can use a clean and available/renewable resource.

Problem with Hydrogen is that the only viable production method is by processing methane gas - a greenhouse gas no no. The much hyped electrical method is much morte expensive.

Scientists in the UK have found a way to do it. . the problem is there is a patent that is in the hands of an oil company that is preventing it going ahead.!!. . there are ways hydrogen coul be produced affordably . . just the 'big boys' won't let it happen.
You don't truly think that Mobil. BP, Caltex and all the others are going to give up the chance at wringing the last possible dollar out of motorists by handing over the data, research and patents they have buried for decades???. . they are the same as the diamond industry. . .keep it all in strict control to keep the price up. . ::)

exactly !
starting to wonder if the TOOTHLESS TIGERS ( the A.C.C.C ) is being some how threatened secretly by these industries ::) ...co's as we all know damn well, it's certainly more than just a coincidence the price rises the same ol' " fill up" days every week !
the A.C.C.C is a joke !
no chemicals relating to oil what so ever, is the true way of the future ! ( not if greed has anything to do with it )
and your right ..they are far more advanced than what their letting on, and milking us sensless til' when ever.
gas ..as previously mentioned is a joke at the current price ! ...it also burns quicker than petrol as someone already mentioned.
fine if it's 5 times cheaper , but it's not.
magnetic rotary like engine is the future i reckon ...no fuel !
