Discuss the hit television thriller "24" here!

Having seen next Monday's episode, I encourage anyone who has ever liked 24 to tune in. If you've never watched the show before, you can still tune in as it can be viewed as a stand alone episode. The episode is brilliant! Riveting from start to the gripping finish. One of the finest hours of 24 and ANY television show for that matter!
Monday 9:30pm Channel 7

Love this show. Have watched every single episode of every single series. I have already watched this series being shown in Oz right now. Don't miss a minute. This series is equally as good as the first series if not better. This is edge of your seat, twists and turns and action like never before on a TV show. Keifer Sutherland deserves praise heaped upon him for his best acting ever for this show. I'm a die hard fan of it. Did I mention... don't miss a minute of it!?

Tonight's episode is brilliant! 9:30pm on Channel 7!

Saw a sample of last night episode. Didn't grab me as much as thought it would.
When the show went to a break, I was surprised to see Ann Sanders doing a news update. Wonder when Ian Ross re-signed with Seven, if his contract carried a clause permitting him to have 3 days off?

I have found you really can't just jump in a quarter, half or two thirds of the way into these series'. You have to watch every show right from the first minute of the first hour. Nothing could stop me from watching '24' from start to finish.

Good observation. Perhaps that is a factor why this show is not winning its timeslot. Loyalty is a lot to ask from a fickle audience. Each episode should be self-contained.
Posted by: adrainreloaded, September 29, 2005, 11:26am; Reply: 6
Agreed with what you said SuziH.
If the show became self-contained, it would just become like every other show. Right now it's unique with it's real-time, continuous story. It's very popular in America and is one of FOX's highest rating shows. Perhaps if Channel 7 didn't change it's timeslot so often viewers would stay. Or perhaps Australians just aren't as dedicated viewers as Americans :-/

I missed the first series and caught it towards the end. I must admit although i could tell it was a good show. It was hard to get into it after missing the beginning.
This time around watched it from the start and love it. Hardly dare get up and get myself a coffee in case i miss some major part of the story. It all happens so fast!

Man this show deserves much much better ratings than it is currently getting in Australia. It is BRILLIANT! Love how the build up so much tension and play with our emotions. Thankfully it does very well in America so it doesn't go unnoticed.

Basically all you need to know to watch tonight's finale is a nuclear missile has been launched with its destination unknown. The terrorist mastermind Habib Marwan who is behind the attacks that have taken place across the day is still at large. The CTU(Counter-Terrorism Unit) has managed to capture a suspect who has agreed to give up Marwan's location in exchange for a pardon against all her crimes.
One of the other side stories that becomes a major one tonight is about the Chinese. A few weeks ago (meaning hours in the show) the CTU infiltrated a Chinese Embassy to kidnap a main suspect involved in the terrorist attacks. The situation gets out of hand and results in the death of a high-level Chinese official. The Chinese discovered last week the Americans were the ones behind the raid and that Jack Bauer lead the team.

Does everyone need a Bex and a good lie down now?
So at last it is finished.
I like the show, and some people here obviously love it so I hesitate to mention a couple of things:
1. I am really freaked out about how comfortable the whole series was with torture. They would torture anything that moved because of the time pressure. Unnerving.
2. They really stretch believability with the 24 hour premise. Jack's girlfiend was kidnapped 12 hours ago, gassed, shot at, her husband was killed two hours ago, and she is still on the computers at work?
The line of the series was to her from the ex-President " I want assessments on all the expected casualties and contingency plans in all the major cities under threat in the next 30 minutes", "Okay, I'll get right on it".
And that's in her spare time. "Oh, and cure cancer while your at it."
3. Am I alone in being driven crazy by the fat computer dude with the lisp? What did he add to the series?
I read how the scriptwriters didn't know where it was all going even as the series had started shooting. Could this be true.
Any thoughts?
Posted by: adrainreloaded, November 10, 2005, 10:23pm; Reply: 11
Hey avalon10!
1. Yeah I've read a number of articles about how much torture is used in 24 to gather intelligence. In times of crisis like this when you really are running out of time it is probably the most effective method to obtain the information you need. I know torture is used in real-life, but we'll never be told how much and how far they go (unless we join ASIO).
2. We saw how Audrey fell apart at the end of this season. I'm sure she was just trying to keep it together as long as possible. Man she must have had the worst day ever (kidnapped, husband died, thinks boyfriend died).
3. I'm not a huge fan of Edgar either but I don't mind him all that much. He hasn't had that big a role this season anyway. I can't really see the purpose in why his character is actually in the show. Pretty one-dimensional really.
4. In the previous season of 24 the writers didn't have too good an idea of where they were going because they were rushed to produce the season. Thankfully FOX gave them an extra 3 months for the fourth season by premiering the next season in January rather than October, so they had plenty of time to write a proper script and know where they were going.
Hope that helps a little. All on all it is by far my favourite show on TV and keeps me on the edge of my seat everyweek. Looking forward to season 5 (though I have no idea how/if Jack will come back).

About that point that you made. A lot of computer freaks/nerds/dudes/genius' are fat.
They have a hard time fitting into the 'real' world and doing what he did in the show, quite often is their only outlet. I enjoyed watching his character annoy the hell out of some of them and how when Chloe was reinstated she drove him mad and vice-versa.
The next series....
Sunday January 15, 2006 is the day the next season begins in the US.

I read recently that in the States there is a new 24 starting in January. The tagline is something like "Everyone thinks he is dead but he has now just become the most wanted man in America".
Wonder what path the storyline will go down this time. Without Jack having the help of his CTU buddies??

Rumour has it.... the next '24' could be the last. I think they say that every series and then it's so damned good they go and make another!

Yeah definitely looking forward to it. I don't think 24's past its use-by-date yet but I want it to end on a high note. Will everybody be waiting for Seven or will the downloads be up come January 15? On the 24 DVD in the US one of the special features was a 9-minute prequel to the upcoming 5th season. Its not vital you see it to understand season 5 but it helps in explaining what happened in the 18 months between season 4 and 5. Here's the link.

OMG I just remembered, I have seen the Prequel to the next 24 off the net. Fast and furious and breathtaking. I stood next to my son's PC with my mouth open, my eyes wide absolutely speechless! Must of been good!!

Hey Guys :)
I am a huge 24 fans. Now i'm guessing it won't be back on tv here till about July like last year but if your like me and need something to keep you going while waiting go to
http://www.fox.comIt has the best 24 preview ever. Its a ad for the new season. Goes for about 2 minutes.
The ad if fantastic. This looks the like best season ever. Season 2 standard. The last two weren't that good. The President Palmer/ Mike and President Logan storyline in my opinion saved the season.
Oh i can't wait till the bring it back.
Enjoy the ad guys. It is so good.

Fox's maddeningly addictive espionage drama will be kicking off its uninterrupted five-month run with the now-de riguer two-night, four-hour premiere — which, in the interests of not being burned in effigy by incensed fans of the plot-intensive series, is all we'll divulge about Season 5. Suffice it to say, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is in for another really bad day. (Premieres Sunday, Jan. 15, on Fox/Global: 8 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. MT)
THAT'S in the US of course!!
News article on Kiefer acting up
20-FLOORED
AND IF YOU THINK YOU MADE A FOOL OF YOURSELF LAST NIGHT.. Boozed-up 24 star Keifer flat out in hotel lobby after wrecking Xmas tree on 7-hour bender with pals
Boozed-up 24 star Kiefer Sutherland flat out in hotel lobby after wrecking Xmas tree on 7-hour bender with pals No it didn't take 24 hours...seven was more than enough for Hollywood hellraiser Kiefer Sutherland. -- Movie heart-throb Kiefer Sutherland, 39, who stars in the hit thriller series 24, was laid flat-out on his back on the floor of a hotel lobby after a marathon booze bender with pals.
Moments earlier Sunday Mirror reporters watched in amazement as he charged into a 12ft Christmas tree, sending it crashing to the floor. The party was finally called off at 5.30am by hotel security - when guests starting arriving for BREAKFAST.
Our reporters met up with Kiefer on Thursday evening at London's trendy Borderline club for a gig by rock singer Rocco Deluca, who he's managing.
Kiefer - son of Hollywood great Donald Sutherland - took a shine to our girl Emily when he literally bumped into her at the show. He apologised, saying: "I'm so sorry, so, so, sorry."
Later our reporters joined him and his crew at the modest, £79-per-night Strand Palace Hotel in the West End... where the drinking REALLY began.
He and his band ordered in tray after tray of whisky, beer, gin and wine - all on the star's bill.
Filled with a little too much festive spirit, Kiefer pulled Emily towards him to show off his latest tattoo - a string of mystic symbols on the inside of his forearm.
"Sit down and take a look," he slurred. "It says 'I trust you to kill me'. It's the name of Rocco's new album. To me that also means 'F**k you' - there's a lot of disrespect bound up in it."
At 2am bar staff refused to serve any more alcohol. Undaunted, Kiefer persuaded management to let them loose in the lobby.
He ordered yet more booze on room service, then staggered around the entrance hall, entertaining pals with a bizarre, flailing breakdancing routine.
It was then that a huge Christmas tree caught his eye.
"I hate that f***ing Christmas tree," he declared. "The tree HAS to come down."
Kiefer warned staff: "I'm smashing it - can I pay for it?"
A staff member replied: "I'm absolutely sure you can, sir."
The Lost Boys star - famously ditched by Julia Roberts five days before their wedding in 1991 - then hurled himself into the Norwegian Spruce, sending baubles and lights crashing to the ground. Pulling pine needles out of his hair and t-shirt, he said to a hotel employee: "Ooh sorry about that...you're so cool. This f***ing hotel rocks."
A friend then tried to coax swaying Kiefer to go to bed...but he made a beeline for our team.
Tears welling in his eyes, he revealed how disappointed he was at the half-hearted applause for his band earlier in the evening. "It was b****cks," he said. We've played in a lot of other places and they were going nuts for this sh*t.
"In this world you have to share something with the f***ing band."
Still up for some banter, he lurched up to Australian-born reporter Michael Duffy, shaking him violently by the hand.
He repeatedly addressed him as "You f***ing Aussie c**t". He kissed Michael's close-shaven head before grabbing Emily's hand and stroking her shoulder.
"Oh don't go, don't go," begged Kiefer, now single after splitting from his long-term lover, artist Catherine Bisson, last year. "I've got a crush on you."
When she declined his advances, he stumbled along the halls of the hotel's eighth floor - before eventually finding the door that fitted his key and calling it a night.

WARNING SPOILERS
WOW!!! Now THAT is what I call a great episode of 24! (Episode 9)
What an awesome first five minutes! The lead terrorist we've been following for the past few episodes is suddenly killed, and all of a sudden anybody who knows Nathanson finds themselves dead. A different but awesome way to lauch the hour.
So much tension going on at CTU. Lynn McGill is starting to crack under pressure largely due to President Logan (not to mention being mobbed a couple of hours ago). Looks as if we may be seeing another Chappelle and Jack will probably have to go rogue.
The story has now taken a totally different direction. It's so good to see that these terrorists are still planning on paying back Russia by taking out the Russian President. That being said, President Logan and Palmer are like the complete opposites. Palmer would NEVER have given up the route the Russian President is going to take. He doesn't negotiate with terrorists and always sees another way. It's still interesting to see the writers bringing in a new president with totally different ways of thinking.
Bring on episode 10 8)

Is this coming back to Seven anytime soon? March? April?
I was thinking if it could come back to its previous timeslots at Monday 9:30 and Thursday 9:30 but both Commander in Chief and Amazing Race are starting this week and will take a while to finish up.
I don't want to wait till August or something! Lol, I hope Seven puts it on Tuesday nights, along with Alias.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of people that were on 24 popping up everywhere?
The mother from series one: Commander in Chief
Nina from series one & two: Las Vegas
Aisha Tyler from the last series: CSI & the ghost whisperer
They just seem to be everywhere lately. 24 seems to be a terrific steppingstone.
Posted by: Simpson, March 1, 2006, 4:12pm; Reply: 38
Actually, I've noticed since 24 started, more TV dramas are starting up with a 'movie' feel to them. Its like, gone are the days of the '1 hour drama everythings wrapped up', now its an ongoing saga that feels like a very long movie.

Well the producers said they are considering it, but they said it would be hard to pack 24 hours in a 2 hours movie, so we'll see what happens, but I think we might see a movie in the near future for 24. I think it'd be great!
Posted by: adrainreloaded, March 1, 2006, 7:32pm; Reply: 42
I can mention hundreds of other people who were in 24 then moved on to other projects. Heaps have surprisingly moved to Desperate Housewives. The character Alan York in the first season of 24 plays Teri Hatcher's ex-husband in the show, while Lynette's husband was one of the men who were in the hotel in season 3 when the virus was released on 24. There are heaps more, especially guest appearances, but I can't think of all of them now.
As for the 24 movie, FOX confirmed that a movie was discussed but they have no intentions of making one anytime soon. They would have to stop the show to make the movie because the writers and producers work on the 24 series, 24/7. Personally, i'd prefer they kept the series unique and innovative and just left it as is rather than make a movie.
Nevertheless, 24 season 5 is brilliant. You guys are gonna love it!

Actress Elisha Cuthbert is facing the critics on her return to cult TV series 24, after fans of the show previously became tired of her character's unrealistic storylines. The 23-year-old star has been plunged into increasingly ludicrous situations in the past, but she assures "frazzled" viewers Kim Bauer's journey will be more believable from now on. Cuthbert tells PageSix.com, "I understood where they were coming from with all the comments and reviews. Nothing was ever directed towards my acting, it was directed toward the storylines, and that helped. If it would have been about me being a disaster, then it would have hurt a lot because I worked my a** off to make sure the storylines were believable. I know a lot of (fans) were frazzled about it, but I think now Kim is coming back in an intelligent way that makes sense for the show."
http://us.imdb.com/news/wenn/2006-03-13/ it's hardly the actor's fault, she is not exactly the writer. Although, they did put her in some insipid situations

I can't see that being true because it is still far too long before they finish and we'd be way behind the US. I see 24 coming on after Air Crash Investigation is over, therefore it will follow Prison Break. Two intense shows on one night! That'd be gr8.

You guys have no idea what your in for! 24 is back and definitely at its best. I have seen up to episode 13 and this season has so far surpassed the second, third, and fourth and is a rival to the brilliant first season. Believe me, I had doubts about a fifth season but it has an incredibly different feel to it. Much, much darker!
As for when Seven will be showing it, 24 will return around July-August this year. My guess is it will return to Mondays or Wednesdays.
Posted by: normano, March 16, 2006, 8:34am; Reply: 58
Yeah I'm sure the majority of 24 fans have also downloaded series 5. Some even downloading it as soon as it is available on Monday (or is that Tuesday) night.
It's not much darker than the previous series. It's the same. Storyline is great though. Without giving away too much, some of the things that have happened so far (asides from with David) have happened in previous series.

Good news, and expected. Hopefully Seven puts 24 on after Dancing with the Stars has finished. I can't wait to see one of my favourite shows return!!!

Yesterday it was announced that '24' has been picked up for three more seasons. Keifer is set to get $40 million. After this season (of which I have seen almost half a day of) we will get at least three more, guarenteed. Great for anyone who is a fan. This current season is absolutley up there with the very best so far. Love it!! ??)
Sorry for the repeat but I was so excited that I didn't read other posts before posting. Sorry Pegleg, but on the upside I think we have shown we are HUGE fans.

Yeah i'm a HUGE fan of 24 and am watching at US pace. Brilliant season! A huge improvement on the last (even though that was still pretty damn good).
As for the article on 3 more seasons, i'm going to wait and see. The producers of the programme are well known for leaking out false information to the media to make the viewers think something and then totally turn the tables with something huge that was never expected. One of the major characters said in an interview that he/she has been signed on for a full season and was then killed off before the half way mark of one of the seasons.

Without giving anything away, last season was more story-driven whereas this one is more character-driven and much more personal. IMO it's actually quite darker than the previous 4 seasons and that's one of the reasons why it's up there with season 1 as my favourite. Both seasons are totally different but both work incredibly well. I find myself anxiously awaiting the next episode every week!

Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland has confirmed popular TV drama 24 is to hit the big screen. Sutherland, who plays federal agent Jack Bauer on the show, recently joked a spoof version would make great cinema viewing. But he now tells MTV.com plans for a straight blockbuster film are already in motion. He says, "The 24 movie would be a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day. That would be the first time that we would not do something in real time, but the characters would obviously all be derivative of the show. The timing issue is something the writers are working on right now. But the sky's the limit at that point for them, because we would not be restricted by the time element."

There is currently a TBA for Wednesday May 3 9:30 following Prison Break so hopefully Seven will follow the US and screen it every Wednesday at 9:30 starting with a 2 hour double.
As for the movie, apparently Kiefer Sutherland only wants to do it if he feels the quality will be up there with the show's standards. So far he hasn't read a script he likes so there won't be a movie for a little while.
Posted by: toni13, April 14, 2006, 5:14pm; Reply: 72
But if they were to show it in May then they would have started showing promos for it at the beginning of this month.
Posted by: adrainreloaded, April 14, 2006, 11:19pm; Reply: 73
Yeah that's true but last time they started promoting a month in advanced and it might have annoyed some people so perhaps they're taking a different approach this time.

May 3? I hope that's correct. But if it was, they should have started advertising already!

I'm probably clutching at straws here but Seven are definitely replacing ACI with something and NOTHING is being promoted yet. It's possible Seven are still deciding and hopefully they will make a good decision. My guess is it will be 24, Bones, or Forensic Investigators.
Posted by: elie06, April 17, 2006, 11:57am; Reply: 76
Well hopefully it is 24. I do agree with u though that Seven would want to replace ACI. But I was thinking maybe they push PB back to 9:30 and 24 at 8:30. Last year 24 got really high ratings and PB has been going downhill lately in ratings so you never know...
Posted by: adrainreloaded, April 17, 2006, 7:59pm; Reply: 77
24 didn't do too well last year in the ratings. If started off pretty well but Seven kept moving it around. Prison Break is rating around 1.3million which is a very respectable figure so I think they'll keep it there. In the US they have Prison Break followed by 24 and FOX do very well so Seven should do the same.

'24' Cast?
Kim Basinger is set to join the cast of hit drama 24 after confessing to star Kiefer Sutherland that she's a huge fan. Basinger has just played opposite Sutherland in thriller The Sentinel and is now considering joining the cast of his TV series for its next season. She says, "I love that show. That would be cool." Sutherland admits he's delighted at the thought of Basinger becoming a regular: "I'm gonna hold her to that." If she signs up for a guest spot, Basinger won't be the only movie star to appear in 24 - Lord Of The Rings actor Sean Astin, Julian Sands and The Mummy villain Arnold Vosloo have joined the cast in the past.

All I can say is I have watched every episode that has been shown in the US. It is as good as the best season, by far. The episode I watched last night threw a spanner in the works and I am a little confused but the series is still GREAT. The viewer ratings for Season 5 of 24 are coming in at 9's and above and I have to agree it is top notch writing and acting. The only reason it wouldn't rate well here in Australia is because the programmers stuff up the time slots and days it will be aired.

This is where I disagree
Sometimes separate seasons require separate threads, sometimes even separate episodes of programs are worthy
Except possibly this thread

As you would see, I was kind of agreeing with you, that this thread was pointless because it had already been discussed several times.
Just sometimes, a program will require a separate thread for a separate reason for a separate season for a separate incident for a separate something
But not this one
::)

24 season 5 will premiere mid-year so look for it around June/July.
Posted by: adrainreloaded, April 23, 2006, 3:11pm; Reply: 89
And this is the one season where you cannot miss an episode.
I actually made a mistake before. I said the fifth season so far, up to episode 18, has been character driven. That is true but once it gets to about episode 12 the plot gets VERY complex. It all makes perfect sense but you have to keep your attention directly on the show otherwise you will completely lose the plot.
Believe me, this is the BEST season yet. If 24 does win Best Drama Series at the Emmy's this year I would be very surprised.

It was late last night as a joint promo with Grey's Anatomy. Prison Break still has about half a season left on Seven.

This current season of '24' is over in the US. It's finale was on the 22nd May. All I can say is 'Don't miss a minute' of this fantastic season. More twists and turns than a giant rollercoaster.
Posted by: adrainreloaded, May 27, 2006, 10:24pm; Reply: 98
Yeah definitely agree with you there! The finale was HUGE! I'd even go as far to say that it was even better than the brilliant first season finale (Teri's death).

This is just a prediction but on Thursday 22nd June the 9:30 timeslot is TBA as is the 9:30 timeslot on Wednesday 29th June. It's possible Seven could preempt Lost or Prison Break for one week to screen a 2 hour premiere of 24. Again this is just a prediction.
Posted by: adrainreloaded, June 1, 2006, 11:09pm; Reply: 100
24 Day Five will premiere Wednesday June 21 with the first two hours back to back from 9:30 till 11:15. Seven are using the tagline "The Chase Begins."

Hehe yes, hope that's true.
I thought it might go on after Lost on Thursday's replacing the amazing race. Perhaps they are leaving that spot for Alias, or maybe that's just wishful thinking. lol
It wouldn't be totally stupid though, in the US ABC teamed up Lost and Alias at one point and the ratings were very good.

Just as mentioned in the programming news thread:
24 returns Wednesday June 21 9:30pm with a 2 hour premiere. There will be 2 more episodes following Lost on Thursday June 22 9:30pm. From this point onwards 24 will screen twice a week in the Wednesday 9:30 timeslot and Thursday 9:30 timeslot.

Oh my god that was amazing! I can't believe they fit all that into 2 hours! AND I CAN'T BELIEVE MICHELLE DIED!!!!
I remember saying at the start of the show that the Walt guy (president assistant) was a bit suspicious, and low and behold, he's evil, but I get the feeling the "crazy" president wife will somehow find a way to be heard, or otherwise Walt will just have to shut her up...
I liked the kid who went with Jack, and that's saying something since I couldn't stand that retard kid last season who was beyond annoying with his whinging about his parents.
Oh wow, i can't wait for tonight.

Wasn't that a cracker beginning as per usual!? It was like putting on a pair of comfy 8 inch stilletos. They feel good but are full on from go to whoah.
I do think the Not So Crazy First Lady is going to be a big part but may get killed (what am I saying EVERYONE may get killed). Love that actress, she always has this imperious dignity no matter what role she plays.
My only problem with 24 is that I don't breathe properly for 2 hours.

Oh god the new season is the best. It is fantastic. I knew Michelle was going to die, but still it was a shock. I never trusted Michelle nor did i like her, but i guess my theory about her being a terrorist didn't pan out. Clearly she isn't one.
I have to say i am still shaking after Palmer was killed. I never saw it comming. I never thought they would kill him off. I guess the advantage of avoiding all spoilers with the exception of the Michelle part and one more thing (but can't say, all i will say is that its a shocker).
I have to say i was worried in season 3 when they killed off Sherry and Nina, main characters because season 4 did not live up to what it was meant to. But this season is the best. I cannot believe i am glad they have killed off some of the main cast.
I think its perfect they left Mike. His character is perfect with President Logan. Hey guys, doesn't Mike know about Jack faking his death. Wasn't he the one who told Palmer that one of Logan's men was going to kill him, or did i just imagine that? I just don't know with Mike. He betrayed Palmer in season 2. Maybe i am letting my imagination take over.
I love President Logan. Best character for the second year running. In my opinion was the best part of season 4. I loved him, Mike and Logan. He is so funny. Well at least he is confident when compared to last season. His wifes character is so intersting, can't wait to see where that goes. I can't believe that guy drugged her? Oh i can't wait till he is found out. He is evil. Because everyone thinks that Martha has lost it. Also with continous characters, Erin, the red haired secret service agent has been on since season 1. He was Palmers head of security. Oh about that other guy, why can't know one see what he is doing? Oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But again, best storyline concerning President Logan. His character is just so good, and that guy deserves to win an emmy for his performance. I never though they could make a character storyline than Palmer and Sherry but Logan and Martha are just so good.
I hope Jack stats with that woman and not Audrey. (lol, i am having trouble with the names, there are so many new people). CTU shock at Jack being alive didn't last long. It was as though it made more sense to them that he was alvive then dead. Can't wait to see everyones reaction when they see Jack face to face.
This is the best season. Everything is so fast and its just the best.......... I thought last year because of the poor storyline maybe 24 might be comming to an end, but i am glad they renewed it for another 3 years because based on this season the show can continue for a very long time.

Mike warned Palmer about Walt Cummings and how he always does Logan's "dirty work" From that point onwards he left it up to Palmer to handle it and never discovered that Jack actually faked his own death. He probably had his suspicions but for his sake it was best he didn't know.

Agreed. While some disagree, season 4 was my least favourite. It was still entertaining but i've come to expect more from what is (IMO) the best drama show on television. Don't get me wrong it did have a few brilliant episodes (the raid on the Chinese consulate for example) and the acting was still solid but the story took a back seat to action. This season IMO surpasses the previous on every level. Most notably is the complex and more intelligent storyline. The characters also have so much more depth (as you can see from Martha) and suspense and tension is created by real issues rather than just pure action. Without giving anything away, I don't think there was one "filler" episode in the whole season!

Of course it's a save the USA/World situation! It wouldn't be 24 otherwise. Be prepared for more Deaths of characters we love. :'(
Political intrigue is a HUGE factor in this series.
As long as Jack, Chloe, Edgar, Bill, Tony, Mike, and the new people like the mum and son, and spencer don't die I'll be ok :P I pretty much just listed the whole cast, lol.
Anyone else realise they've added a bit more humour to this season of 24? I thought some parts of the show were actually quite funny, like when (in the first ep) Jack hits that police officer underground to get his uniform, and then derick's like "is he going to be ok?" or something and Chloe's says "Yeah, he's really good at this...I think". Couldn't stop laughing at that point. Chloe's probably one of the best characters I think, so funny.

Yep these two 2-hr episodes were fantastic, I too don't want to wait until Weds to see more!! (but I guess I will...lol) :) ;)
I wasn't as impressed with the last season as I was with the previous ones, but I am very excited to see they've vastly improved on that season already in only the first couple of hours! :D
I like Chloe, although it's taken a while for her to grow on me, I think it's due to her better storylines now, in the first couple of seasons she was just really annoying... I am not too impressed Edgar is back though, he's taken over from Chloe in my opinion as the annoying one!

I feel like I should ready an oxygen tank or something while I watch 24 this season...I usually stop breathing halfway through the show.

Yes i know. He is so anoying. I think why chloe anoyed me from beginning was she acts like she has a metal problem, like always giving looks and acting werid. Although i have accepted her now. Edgar,,,, >:( he talks like hes chewing on a chicken at the sametime as talking or like his just run up stairs and is out of breath. Never talks like a normal person >:(

Edgar is a wonderful guy, IMHO. He plays a simple but very clever man. He and Chloe have an interesting friendship of mutual respect and love. Chloe is very fond of Edgar. Chloe's character developes to full bloom this series. Chloe is dedicated to Jack and she is very very honest. She does not suffer what she sees as a fool, gladly. The episode I watched last night off the net was number 116. 5th episode from the end of this current series. Chloe was hilarious. Love this series. Who has died so far from the free to air shows?

By the looks of it, 24 is going to one night - Thursdays - good one, twice a week was a really good idea, really kept the momentum.

From Wednesday July 12, Seven will air double episodes of 24 on Wednesday and Thursday nights. This truly is the stupidest move Seven has ever made. Not only will this bring the ratings even further down, it will alienate viewers from ever watching 24 on Seven. If it's rating low, move it to 10:30. 4 times a week is just too much for the average viewer. This means it will end on Thursday August 3 if they continue this way.
Thanks to Aaron over at TvAus for the news.

Oh come on! I have school!
Oh well, I'll probably have to tape the second episode, I can't watch that much in a night and do like no work. I would rather them screen only 2 episodes a week, but having said that, I don't mind taping an ep and watching it the day after.
Anyways, the last episode was brilliant. I loved the president's expressesion when Jack was kicking the hell out of Walt Cummings.

wow! I'm already taping it and watching on the weekends (just finished last weeks' episodes!), 4 hours a week is a bit much but at least we won't have to wait too long to see what happens!!! ;)

Eventually got around to watching the Finale of this seasons 24 tonight. Great ending, absolutely fantastic. Well worth watching all prior 23 episodes of the season to get to this. Suzi is happy :) and a little concerned ??) :-/
Next season should be a humdinger! :X
Posted by: elie06, July 7, 2006, 4:56pm; Reply: 151
Last night's episode was so nerve racking. I can't believe the president actually gave CTU the OK to allow the terrorists to use the nerve gas in the mall.
You'd think he learnt his lesson after the innocent people that got shot right in front of him from that live feed.
Anyways, 24 will be finished in just 4 weeks :(. I've waited a year and Seven is rushing the series. Oh well. I say that like it's a bad thing, but I can't wait:D
Posted by: adrainreloaded, July 7, 2006, 6:05pm; Reply: 152
Having seen the entire season already I can say with absolute certainty that the next 4 hours are some of the best ever hours of 24. It's amazing that Seven would want to waste all 4 in the same week. Especially a show like 24 where one episode is completely satisfying in comparison to a show like Lost which can be drawn out from time to time.

I couldn't wait and have grabbed this season and watching the last few hours this weekend!

I don't want to tape shows anymore (as much) so I'm just going to watch the full 2 hours tonight and tomorrow. I don't see how I'll be able to sleep after it, but oh well :P

What is channeled seven's problem? If they keep doubling the episodes we will be through the series within a couple of weeks
Posted by: elie06, July 14, 2006, 1:47pm; Reply: 157
Yeah, 3 weeks from now to be exact.
At first I thought it was a bad idea, but I loved Wed/Thur 2 hour specials:D It was much better than just watching through one ep.
Edgar! I can't believe he died! That was awesome that scene....and we got to see a new Chloe facial expression!

I cannot believe they killed Edgar off. Mum is so mad at the writters for killing him off because he was such a good character. I knew Edgar might be killed off because i went to this site and they said that only three times the shows has ended with a silent clock. And i knew of course we had Teri's death and Ryan's death with silent clocks. And before i could make any sense of the rest i quickly turned the site off because it had Chloe's and Edgar's name. And now it all makes sense. The clock ends in silence as Edgar dies in front of Chloe. I know the answer to the question they ask for next weeks episode. I am intersted to see how it happens. Very intersted.

I've been avoiding this thread until I could catch up on the episodes from last week (thank goodness I did! :)), I knew as soon as that other girl told Edgar about the air conditioning alert that they were both going to die.... I was glad to see the end of Edgar the annoying, it was a bit sad though, at least he didn't scream and carry on, and I was also happy to finally see Chloe's facial expression change, at least we could see how much she really did like Edgar.
I was surprised to see the original Kim show up though, I thought they were either going to put off her arrival until the very end so she'd only have to do one episode, or that they might have had to get a replacement actor to play her. I hope they kill off Kim too... never did like her character either... lol
Mrs Logan is definitely a fantastic character! How she could put up with a coward of a man that her husband is is beyond me though! She deserves an award just for that! LOL ;)
Jack shooting Christopher's wife in the hopes of him talking was very clever, too bad that guy seems to be pure evil and it didn't work! Can't wait to see what Jack does to him! :)

My theory is that he (Kim's boyfriend) is the next inside bad guy. After all I'm sure there was something said about him knowing the Peter Weller character (or Kim being referred to him by Peter Weller).
And good to see Peter doing something other than Robocop

I thought a similar thing actually, unless it's just made to look like he's a baddie to throw us off the track of some other baddie that we haven't figured out yet!... lol I love this show and trying to think up all the possibilities... hurry up tonight so I can find out! :)

Mabey its just me but i can't figure out a few things. Like what was the point of the first hostage situation? Wouldn't it have been eaisier to just get the gas without telling the whole country that they were there. And were did that girl get the gun to kill the old guy with? How did Walt cummings hang himself from a light fitting? seems a bit impossible!! And what happened to jacks broken ribs?

REALLY think that do you? By the end of this series you will be saying 'Martha, you go girl' and we may have once queried Mike's loyalty (like in the first season before we knew him) but not anymore. Another great bloke is Aaron one of the 'President's men' through the series'.
That is the one and only time we see Kim and her 'old enough to be her father' boyfriend. Thank Goodness ::)

The purpose of the hostage situation was not to just steal the nerve gas but to actually stop the president from signing the arms treaty. Because he refused the terrorists planned on using the gas against Russia and well you know how that turned out.
As for how Cummings hanged himself, all will be explained in upcoming episodes ;)

Firstly, what a great bi-episode last night. I think a lot more tension in this series than in the last.
And slightly off topic, being a new poster, I was thinking what is the etiquette regarding posting about episodes (ie as some people tape it how specific can we be)
Posted by: MorganPym, July 20, 2006, 1:14pm; Reply: 180
the general consensus is, if it has aired on free to air or subscription television in this country then you are free to discuss what ever
If you have taped the show, it is up to you to stay away from the relevant threads

AUDREY!!!
I can't believe it! I was so shocked to hear that she is one of the "bad" guys. Except I just don't see the connection so I refuse to accept the hot lady's betrayal of Audrey.
I mean it doesn't make sense. Audrey helped Jack in everything he needed this season so it just wouldn't be logical if she was evil!
Can't wait till tonight...what's up with the whole David Palmer's brother thing. He must of had some pretty important info to get shot of the road like that!

It didn't really give anything away for me. I watched the last two weeks which I thought were rivetting stuff because of the nerve gas leak. Last night was sad seeing those two guys die at the end sacrificing themselves. They should have learnt to hold their breath for longer! hehe. I actually thought the concentration of gas in the room they were in would have been low enough that they might have survived, since the door had been closed etc and the gas had actually started being extracted. But oh well, it's a tv show...

But this particular nerve gas (sentox) is highly concentrated so I guess even inhaling the slightest amount is fatal. Those two deaths were very graphic so it's great to see the writers aren't shying away from these kinds of scenes (most seasons are rated MA).

I truly hated the guy (Lin) but I did cry when he and the guard died. It was a sacrifice, a 'mission' they knew they would never return from and that was so powerful. Many deaths so far of people we knew and either loved or hated. All very moving and well done. I find I am very attracted to the man who plays Bill Buchanan. Does that mean I am old? I used to say to my kids... you know you are getting old when you start looking/admiring men who are grey!

Yeah I completely agree. 24 is definitely one of the best at doing the most dramatic death scenes. I hated (meaning I loved) how both Lynn and the guard knew they were going to die yet they still held their breath in a final hope of surviving. Damn I felt so sorry for both. Guard: "I'm ok!" (starts shaking) :(

Very disappointing to see 24 the lowest rating programme last night between 5:30pm and 11:30pm. This show deserves MUCH better. 4 times a week is hardly something the viewers would want to dedicate themselves too though. 24 is one of a very few shows where you miss an episode and it is very difficult to catch up.

Without spoiling anything, it actually makes perfect sense. There were a couple of things earlier on this season that didn't quite fit right with me but this twist actually explains that later on.

I alomst died watching last nights episode of 24. I am so glad i never looked a spoilers, this season is to good to be ruined and my friend has told me to aviod going to the offical 24 forum because the ending is revealed.
S**T, WOW, President Logan is the traitor. I have spent the entire season with mum my trying to figure out who was the traitor. OMG, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought it was Mike, i still don't trust him. Maybe he is working with Logan. And i though it could have been the Vice President also. WOW, i can't believe he has no idea what is happening and is really a good guy.
I was so scared that Erin might be killed off. I was like NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, i am very worried about him, now that President Logan knows Wayne visited Erin he is bound to know that Erin helped him survive. That scene where the Vice President saw Erin and Wayne, i almost passed out, Because i though surley now he is going to take them out so that they don't go to President Logan.
OMG, i am still in a state of shock. The revelation that President Logan is the terrorist is the biggest shock moment of all time for me when it comes to tv shows. They are going where no show has gone before. WOW!!!!!!!!!
When that woman said "the vice-president has nothing to do with this," i couldn't imagine who it could be. I thought it must be mike. And when they were hiding the person who Henderson was speaking to, i said to mum who ever this is, is the traitor. I screamed when i saw it. President Logan was on the phone with Henderson. He wants Wayne and Jack elminated. WOW!!!!!!!!! I am in a state of shock. I loved President Logan and Erin. They are my two faviourte characters in this season.
I think that Martha Logan is going to kick his a** when she find out her husband is the terrorist responsible for all this.
After finding out he is the terrorist and behind all this, everything that has happend does make sense. This is what i think he is responsible for
- Ordering President Palmer to be killed after that woman found out that he was responsible for what was going to happen and told former President Logan. This in turn resulted in
*Palmer not being able to tell Martha. It explains why Palmer wanted to go to Martha. I always found it strange that out of all the people who he could pick in this world to tell about what's happening, that he choose her. No it makes sense. He wanted to tell Logan's wife, what was happening.
- Wanting to kill the President and First Lady of Russia.
*Remeber he was willing to kill his wife, but CTU just got in time to finish this
- Maybe he killed Walt Cummings.
*We still don't know if it was murder or suicide
- Responsible for the nerve gas release in the shopping center
- Responsible for the attempted release of the nerve gas in the hosptial
- Responsible for the gas release at CTU which killed most of their employees
- Responsible for the attempted nerve gas release in that public gas system
- Responsible for everyone who has died today
- Responsible for trying to kill Wayne Palmer
That is one hell of a lot of crimes President Logan has done. I wonder why he is doing it. It makes no sense. And i wonder why Walt didn't know Logan was responsible for all this. Still has to be explained. I think Logan killed Walt, so that Walt doesn't eventually break. That woman was right when she said "everyone has a price"
I am still in a state of shock that President Logan is the terrorists. Biggest shock ever. But i cannot wait to see what is going to happen next. And most of all i cannot wait to see Martha's reaction to finding out her husband is a terrorist, traitor and responsible for all that is happening including the death of former President Palmer.
Without a doubt, the best season of 24 ever.

LOL!!!!!!!!! I know. Mike had to call Palmer to come in and help him. Its amazing everything that can happen in a season. Who would have thought a season later Logan would order the hit on Palmer?
I was thinking about Logan being responsible for Palmer's death when i rememberd the finale scene with Palmer and Logan togther in season 4.
Palmer knew Logan's man was going to try to kill Jack, so Palmer attempted to get Logan to stop this. And i cannot forget this quote that Palmer said to Logan after Logan refused to do anything to save Jack, which in a really stange way now after learning Logan is the traitor really was an appropraite summarise of what the character of President Logan would be in season 5.
Palmer: Hear no evil.
Logan: I beg your pardon?
Palmer: You heard me.
I think that quote President Palmer made to Loagn was Palmer realising the the new President is someone who acts in his best interests and not others. That he is a man who only works for himself and not the country and its people. That he will do acts of evil and not think twice about them.
And the look Palmer gives to Logan when he is at the door about to leave. You can tell Palmer is not happy and very untrusting of Logan. And when Logan looks and they just stare at each other is perfect.
I think alot of people forgot about this and when season 5 came along most of us thought of Logan as the good guy with some hard decisions to make and not the guy who is actually doing the acts of evil.

How funny it was Chloe's reaction to the new girl suggesting that Mr. Buchanan had sexually harassed her by touching her shoulder?
LOL... that was the best! My hubby and I cracked up at that point, very very amusing! :P
I was shocked when they implicated Audrey, but now I am not entirely convinced that she is innocent yet... LOL Poor Bill, I hope it all works out for him when they work out why Audrey signed that document. :(
Well I'm not all that shocked that the traitor turned out to be Logan, I never thought he was trustworthy, but I am a little confused on just a couple of the things he's supposed to have done and can't wait to see how it all unravels... I can't believe there's only 2 more weeks of it left! It's both disappointing and exciting at the same time! ;)

Oh, don't remind me. The wait is way to long. Oh. But i'm glad its comming back even though it will be a long wait. I am thrilled we will get another three more years and even a movie of it. Hopefully the wait isn't that long. Sometimes i like the way the show is sped up but then sometimes i don't because its just finished so fast.

Anyways, Audrey's dad is so stupid, but it was so funny seeing the content look in Logan's face when he heard Henderson had the recording. I wonder what will happen with Martha (and Aaron's phone)...

I hope Aaron is ok...
I just knew Audrey was going to be injured, if not killed. What an idiotic thing for her father to do, and just leaving them there also... I wish there was a shaking head emote!! LOL
Can't wait for Mrs Logan to find out it's all her hubby's doing... she's going to be pi$$ed!!

Wow that is so freaky morgan. I didn't realise that but I saw on Wayne Palmer that he had 3 holes in his ear too!
Scary that we both realised these things same time :P
Anyways, aren't they a bit old for earings...
How awesome was Audrey's acting btw! Oh, and Chloe with the taesar (spelling?) So funny :D

I love Audrey's Dad. Too old for earings??? elie06.. what the? I know plenty of guys who have earings and are over 40... over 50 even. They are usually the guys I notice. Since when was a personal fashion choice dependent on age? Good grief. I don't have any piercings but I would consider a smallish tattoo with the letter 'S' entwined with flowers, and I am 50! Not dead yet!!

When the brother was the principal on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I think he had the earrings in place...
Older people of the forum, settle down in front of the fire... pull out the rug... I just meant it was interesting that the POTUS, for all intents and purposes, had several piercings
In real-life, the actor, is probably extremely flamboyant... there are probably piercings around that we do not get to see :o

How awesome were the last 4 episodes! Just brilliant TV, it deserves so much more viewers. Anyways, only 4 eps to go and all the president has to do is shoot down the plane. He's the president, he can do anything...
So i don't see how jack will get out of this one. :o

Fair enough it wouldn't be the original, with all of the certified time and date marks ... but at least it would require some explaining from the president

I guess Jack wanted to save time, and he does not have the expertise to duplicate a digital recording.

On more than one occasion, Jack has shown that he is rather computer savvy... plus it's not that difficult to send a file... come on, he was receiving the schematics for 777 aircraft on his PDA

Lol, if someone was old and had a tatoo that would be ok, but earrings just doesn't work for old guys...
Tatoos are a completely different story though. That's good at any age. This is just my opinion anyways :P
Anyways, Back to 24: I can't believe Chloe would let Miles actually delete all that tape. She's smart enough to know something is wrong when he comes in!

For the exact reason you mentioned. A copy would never stand up in court as experts would be able to tell.
Looking forward to rewatching the finale tonight. Brilliant television!

I can't believe that in two and a half hours the season finale will be aired. OMG!! This has been the best season ever :) but its so sad that this time next week or for the next 8 months or so there will be no 24. :'(
I can't wait to see what happens to President Logan. I'm glad he didn't kill himself. He is such a good villan. I hope that this isn't the last we see of him. I started yelling at the tv, for Martha to move faster to the barn to stop that secret service agent killing Aaron. (yay, they didn't just forget about him, they actually for one let us see what happend) Finally she is going to tell Mike what is going on because i think he is the only one that can actually help at this point. Its been fustrating to say the least them all not going to Mike. I can't wait to see what Mike, Martha and Aaron do. lol They along with Logan have been the best characters this year.
Oh i wonder what Jack is going to do as well. I am suprised Audrey's dad survived. Didn't expect that. How evil was that guy who stole the recording and destroyed it from Chole? I hope he gets it to. I can kinda picture the last few minutes of 24. I'm not going to write what i think, but it will be interesting to see what happens.
I am so sad its finishing today. I am glad we got two hour episodes, twice a week because its made the season better. Oh god, i can't wait to see what becomes of Logan. All i know is what my friend told me and that was if you add up all the shock moments of this season and put them together you still won't be as shocked as the final episode. It is that good.
I for one can't wait. 24 deserves to win all the Emmy's this year. This season has been perfect. Congrats to the writters. They have more than made up for last seasons not to good year.
OMG i am so excited ;)

That was brilliant! Definitely the best series of any show this year. I loved the ending except I had a feeling the chinese might be back and I was like screaming at Audrey at the end for not moving quicker and checking up on Jack.
Well, I doubt the main character is going to die, but I can't wait to see what happens next and its so sad that I have to wait like a year for it now :(
24 was, without a doubt, amazing this year, to say the least :D

I told you before it started here in Australia to not miss a minute of it. The best series by far IMHO. Didn't you just hate the Prez? I was so happy that Mike came through and Mrs.Prez and Aaron were safe. It was farfetched for us to swallow Chloe allowing the erasing of the recording. They could of done that a little different. Three more seasons hasn't it been picked up for? Or more? Who do you reckon will be the next Prez? The Vice President from this last series would be a good choice. He does a lot of voices/characters on PC Games. He is an excellent actor and he looks the part. Mealy mouthed moron this last one was. Hmmmm, who is REALLY running the US?

I know i have taken my time in replying to the season finale on Thursday but better late than never. OMG that was the best finale i have ever seen. The highlight of season 5 and all the seasons put together, the best moment without a doubt in my opinion, is the scene where Logan's own secret service agents come to arrest President Logan. And the bit i am talking about is where, after being told to come with the men, President Logan turning around to looking at his wife. That look she gives him is the best ever. I was like yes, finally!!!!!!!!!!! She got him!!! Logan knows that his wife got him, big time. And then Mike joins in on giving that look to Logan. It was perfect how they had him walk to the limo, while Palmer's coffing was being out on the plane and the guns were going off. It was just a perfect scene. I loved it.
I think President Logan tipped the Chinnese off about Jack being alive. Because i think 2 hours ealier he told that guy who he was always on the phone with that they must not worry about Jack. That he will deal with him. I really think that he tipped them off.
Oh Jack!!!! WOW, what an ending. The last two endings in season 3 and 4 were terrible. This is the type of cliffhanger ending i like. lol. WOW i wonder what will happen to him. Will the U.S government save him or let them keep Jack to prevent problems between China and America. Jack being caught by the Chinese and no one knowing what's happening reminds my of Stephen Saunders. Season 3's terrorist. The man who with Jack and other soldiers went to Serbia to take Victor Drazen out, (season 1 baddie). But things went wrong and Jack thought Saunders died, but no realising the Serbian secret police had him and tortured him for years before he got out with a massive attitude change. No doubt we will see a attitude change in Jack. I guess it depends on how he gets out.
Best season ever. They deserve the golden globe this year for best tv show. And about Kiefer Sutherland, Gregory Itzin (President Logan) out of anyone on tv deserves the award for best supporting actor. He was fantastic. He made this season so good. President Logan is the best character they have had. I can't wait to see what happens next year.
I actually know a few bits, mostly regarding next seasons cast. Would you guys like to know. There aren't any major spoilers or anything. I don't have a clue what happens to Jack. But i know who has been signed on for season 6. There is one big shocker. A character that we all know will be back. But its the persons role in season 6, which left me stunned when i found out. I am in shock. I can't believe they have done this.
So if you guys would like to know on this thread who is so far back next season i would love to put it on here. Even thought its like 8 months till we get it back. lol. But its good to know.

Smallville. Currently I alternate Nine's Temptation and Seven's Home and Away.
Shows I avoid... Medical Emergency, All Saints.

another reason to dislike the AFL... this means more programs we will not see on free to air...
Thinking about Mr. Rex, if he keeps paying in excess of the thousand dollars per week for young ladies to help him with his public exhibitionism, maybe we will see him back on the air... yibbita yibbita

After months of scandal, sliding ratings and staff mutiny, Nine has concocted a simple remedy for its winter of discontent: cricket, cricket, and more cricket. With the Ashes being contested again this summer, Mr McGuire disclosed that Nine viewers will be bombarded with cricket, and cricket-related programs.
It seems Channel 9 are hedging their bets on the cricket to bring them out of their slump and now it looks like 7 are going to rely on AFL/V8??

I had the distinct feeling you are correct & that channel 9 are already counting The Ashes as a ratings winner because of the closeness of the previous series... we can only hope the series crashes and burns, resulting in dismal sport... severely one-sided games & boring television

Kal Penn joins 24
Quoted Text
Kal Penn, the rising Hollywood star best known for his role as Kumar in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, has joined the cast of real-time thriller 24.
The Fox network announced that Penn will star in the Emmy Award-winning series as a man who's connected to an Islamic leader who may be planning a major terrorist attack.
The 29-year-old actor's other screen credits include roles in Van Wilder: Party Liaison as Indian exchange student Taj Mahal Badalandabad, and Superman Returns as one of Lex Luthor's (Kevin Spacey) henchmen.
Penn joins Ally McBeal star Peter MacNicol as one of the new faces in 24's sixth season, which debuts in the US in January.

Posted by: SuziH, January 24, 2007, 7:28am; Reply: 253
Yes. they are showing it earlier. Reason being a lot of shows are being aired in Australia soon after being aired in the US because the powers that be now realise so many people are downloading shows off the net and watching them before Australia airs them. Their strategy is to air them quickly to discourage downloading.

'Heroes' is great!
The first episode of '24' had me thinking 'oh no, not this tired old story' BUT... as with most of the prior series', I am now hooked. As usual a hell of a lot happens every episode, long standing characters are lost, people are killed left, right and centre and Bill Buchanan is back (and he is married)!

Have I missed something. I thought Jack was stuck in a cargo ship off to China but the way the blurb reads for tonights episodes the new Govt are still trying to decide whether or not to sacrifice him???

Does anyone know if there's a plan for an "encore presentation" I'm most likely going to miss tonight's episode and have to tape "the Bill" for my partner....
Hmm.... choices.... divorce, or "24"..... :D
Posted by: adrainreloaded, January 30, 2007, 4:11pm; Reply: 265
Take the divorce and watch 24 lol :P There are no encores scheduled.
SBro the show hasn't forgot about the whole China incident. All will be explained in the premiere :D

is only a rumour, so there is no need for the spoiler section
...
Jack's estranged father could possibly be making an appearance towards the end of the series
How excellent would that be?
Posted by: Ised, January 30, 2007, 5:35pm; Reply: 267
That would be good!
I'm hoping there's not too much of his daughter in this season... can't stand her! ::)

that was basically the crux of the article ... Jack's troubled relationships, double agent girlfriend that killed his wife after he fell in love with her again, estranged father & daughter scenario, plus his own estrangement with his father & not forgetting, authorizing the use of torture on his girlfriend in the previous series...
I know nothing of the storyline, so I am only talking hypothetically... but I could do without the troublesome child appearing in the series or making just a cameo ...
I wonder who they could get to play the father? Someone really cool...
they have a lot to live up to after scoring Dennis Hopper

First 2 hours was good. Going to be another great season of "24" IMO. The next 2 hours are even better. Talk about a shock and totally unexpected. Jack is definately back to his old self and willing to do whatever it takes.

Jack has amazing recuperative powers
A short thick serrated blade twisted into the shoulder muscle & he stops bleeding within minutes ::) not only that, but the muscle groups don't even go into spasm

ha ha,
I took the divorce and watched it (My child is now missing one parent, anyone know any volunteers for the role ?? ;) )
Not only did he recover well from the blade to the shoulder, but I was particularly impressed with his overall condition after two years in a Chinese jail. He must have put a lot of effort into keeping his mind & body strong!
David Hicks could do with finding out how he achieved such amazing results.

24 has always beggered belief but that's the fun of it IMHO. Jack said in the first episode of this season for CTU NOT to tell his daughter and girlfriend that he was back in the land of the living. His daughter, Kim, drives everyone crazy and I doubt she will make an appearance this season. Jack is looking pretty buff a few episodes into this season... and we have to remember this occurs over the period of ONE DAY! :D It's still addictive to those of us who love the '24' franchise ;)

They looked like burns either from acid, hot oil or hot wax. Easy to emulate with a makeup artists know how. ;) In reality he would of been a blithering idiot with parts missing! Still love Keifer and this show. :)

*scrubbing Los Angeles off my list of places to visit*
Yes, you certainly must love the Chinese... my fav idiosyncrasy is upon the execution of a convicted drug dealer, their family receives a bill for the bullet used in aforementioned action
& back to 24... isn't cloe looking gorgeous this season? I watched her in an interview on the Jay Leno show & she got together with the producers & pleaded that they let cloe brush her hair & generally tidy up
Posted by: SuziH, February 5, 2007, 8:51am; Reply: 278
Last night I watched a teensy bit of 'Sweet Home Alabama' and saw Chloe from 24 playing the part of a bank teller with too much make-up and hair that would survive hurricane force winds! So funny to see her play the part after being used to her idiosyncrasies and character in 24. :)

I have such a high school crush on both the character & the actor
In real life she has an extremely dry sense of humour ... & those dimples mmmmmmmm

Oh I saw either that interview with Chloe on Jay although I think it might've been Dave Letterman show actually... she was hilarious!! Very enjoyable to watch both acting and as herself, she's very likable. :)

she has appeared on both in the last two weeks, plus the O'Brien show & another one I cannot remember the name of at the moment ... not that I am complaining one iota :X

I can't believe the time they've pushed this show to. After such a promising start with double eps at good times, it's moved to 10.30 Wed ???? >:(
who stays up that late for TV (anymore) ??? :(

I thought they would have kept it at an earlier time slot too, although it does make for 3 hours of good tv as 24 follows Hero's and Prison Break.
I thought it also made a great start to the 6th season and the revelations that are in store for us viewers are far more shocking than in previous seasons imo.
Don't know about anyone else but my latenight viewing doesn't end until about 3am so the latenight timeslot doesn't affect me to much, but I can see how it would for the people who don't suffer from insomnia and who have normal jobs.

like the above aficionado, I am not bothered by the later time slot but you would think they would find it a better place if they want some ratings

Yes last season. He was the mastermind behind the conspiracy to deploy nerve gas in central-Asia to raise awareness in terrorism and make use of the recently signed anti-terrorism peace treaty and hence ensure a healthy supply of oil for the US.

I keep forgetting this show is on, I'm used to it being on at 8.30pm. 10.30 sucks for me as I have to be up at 5.30 when I'm on an early :(

Hey Shutter, I remember the good old days when I could stay up 'til that time. Now if I'm up at 3am it's only to feed the baby! ;) Having said that, at least 'cos I now record it, I can actually see it all even if it takes three goes and I finish watching it on Sat! :)

Milo got shot in the shoulder a few "hours" back when he was out in the field with Jack. It was when he was trying to protect Jack's brother's wife after the grandfather took her son hostage, and she led them to that decoy house that the baddies blew up and then they went chasing & shooting after her & Milo and they ended up getting stuck behind a dumpster until Jack saved them.
I really hope you've seen it, would be really hard to follow if you hadn't (my explanation I mean!) ;)

Cheers... for a moment I just had a mental blank & couldn't remember... so many programs, they are starting to morph into each other & minor details are going missing. It was starting to annoy me that I couldn't remember why Milo had the shoulder strap.

Twisting & turning .. twisting & turning
I had to laugh at the subsequent result of chopping the Russian's arm off

For fans of 24, you can get BOTH seasons 1 & 2 together for only $24.92 at EzyDVD.
Season 4 is also available in two parts at $12.92 each.
However, all complete season box sets are $50 on their own, and the season 1-5 boxset (with 4 bonus discs not available with the separate box sets) is $250.
Hell I'd buy the first two seasons purely because it's so damn cheap. :D

Yep I'm still watching although they are the U.S. eps. Plenty more twists and turns coming up :) Will post a spoiler in the spoiler thread if you want to find out.

I was watching 24 & struck by the number of cameo appearances in this week's episode, appearances by people in other series currently screening* ... it's like borrowing a cup of sugar from your neighbour :)
Mr. Secretary made an appearance, telling Jack that he was poison. I guess he needed a break from battling his son for the affections of the young woman in What about Brian.
His daughter, reciting phrases parrotlike, has also popped up, having a break from The Nine & the post-traumatic stress of the bank robbery.
Speaking of her
24 actress Kim Raver is pregnant with her second child. The 38-year-old star, who plays Audrey Raines on the hit TV drama, is expecting a baby later this year. Raver enthuses, "I'm so thrilled to be having a second child, I couldn't keep it secret." Raver and her French husband Manuel Boyers already have a four-year-old son Luke.

I thought the finale was a bit of a let down really. The season started out really good but then I felt it just dropped away.
