Conditions:

1) Only one video per person permitted.
2) You must NOT reveal your entry or your votes to anybody but Sillygostly.
3) You may submit virtually any video from YouTube or similar video sites. Embeddable videos are encouraged, but not mandatory.
4) If the content of your video contains excessive thematic, violent, coarse, nude, sexual or drug content, then you may need to provide an edited alternative for those who do not wish to view such material. Consult Sillygostly if you're unsure about the content of your video. In most cases, the uncut version will still be eligible for viewing.
5) All entrants are expected to vote. Entrants who fail to vote within a reasonable timeframe may have their ranking lowered in accordance with how they may have fared if they had voted.
6) In the event that you are unable to vote, you are allowed to nominate an understudy to vote on your behalf (bearing in mind that the understudy cannot vote for you; and the voter will be identified by their own username). This voter cannot be someone who is competing in the contest.
7) Once the videos are revealed, you must then submit your votes (this is done by ranking each video in order of your most to least favourite, excluding your own) to Sillygostly via private message.
In the event that the eBlah forum is closed down, you may join the "eBlah Video Song Contest" group on Facebook to commence your involvement in the contest, or you may contact me via email at u_r_talkin_2_sum1 at hotmail dot com.

Considering these upcoming changes, I think our upcoming grand finale will also be our last (and this may be followed by a full blown series finale which will see our 3 grand finale winners pitted against each other in a final farewell). Anybody who wishes to contribute to the EVSC's last hurrah are welcome to do so.

Anywho... enjoy the contest!

According to her, she's "too busy" to host the current round.

My choir can beat up your choir.

Edit:  I've entered btw.  Not sure if I already said that or not but scrolling up the page to find out seems like a hassle.  I didn't go with a full choir but it is still choir music.  I also enjoyed looking through choirs though, as did you Candy.  I thought it was a silly theme at first but I've really enjoyed it, especially the part where I had sex with a rather.... wait that was something else entirely unrelated.  I get confused.  The point is that searching was way more enjoyable than I thought.

oh

I'm not too sharp today myself.

Its my birthday today.  Can you go to the birthday thread and start the trend if you're still here.

I'm 39 so the fear of 40 is here.  I don't know whey men fear that, but we do.  I think women have the harder time with 30 which flew right by with no cares for me.

I didn't think anyone knew, except Suzi remembered last year after it'd been published a long while back and then I changed the date for anonymity.  I have too many birthdays to remember just with family so no point in feeling guilty.

Thanks though, I thought I'd have to start it myself

Yay I'm so pleased
I like traditional choir songs and more modern ones. I entered a modern take on something traditional, something upbeat, not as arty as what I usually enter.

MD I will be scared for 30 and 40, 30 will be like the end of youth I guess

I was going to ask if it was your entry before answering but I guess I'll just be honest.  I assume it was your entry so I apologize in advance.  I hope you beat Bree though.

I though it was a good song however I didn't think it was remarkable.  Its good and it would especially be good if you saw it live but it isn't something that's going to get stuck in my head let alone stuck in my head and then still be something I'd be interested in putting the volume up on when it came on the radio.

Look at the bright side though... I watched a JESC song and didn't bag it.  And you're hot, so that's a pretty positive thing.

Choir
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Choir (disambiguation).
A choir, chorale, or chorus is a musical ensemble of singers. Choral music, in turn, is the music written specifically for such an ensemble to perform.
A body of singers who perform together is called a choir or chorus. The former term is very often applied to groups affiliated with a church (whether or not they actually occupy the choir) and the second to groups that perform in theatres or concert halls, but this distinction is far from rigid. The term "Choir" has the secondary definition of a subset of an ensemble; thus one speaks of the "woodwind choir" of an orchestra, or different "choirs" of voices and/or instruments in a polychoral composition. In typical 18th to 21st century oratorios and masses, chorus or choir is usually understood to imply more than one singer per part, in contrast to the quartet of soloists also featured in these works.

just googled it

so Tony Abbott could sing choral music but in himself is not a choir
but then I'm not worried...just want to check it out.
you send in what you want Dean.

oh

I thought it was some thing to do with how many members make a choir!

and thinking and looking back at the poster  (great work of art Silly, should have said that before)

one girl could be a choir....if she recorded many tracks and overlayed them into one song.

The theme is Choir Music, not A Choir.  A Choir, in Catholic costume no less, sang Kid Rock at the opening of the US MTV awards in the late 90s but it didn't make it choir music regardless of what the wikipedia says.  A song that is typically sung by a choir is choir music regardless of who sings it.

Quoted from Candy

From your quote, its written specifically for a group to perform.  That doesn't mean that one person doing it isn't singing choir music.  If I sing this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usfiAsWR4qU
then I'm singing Choir Music.
I've already accepted that I'll be penalised for breaking theme but I feel comfortable that I haven't.

Also, form your definition, the clip of raindrops fallin on my head isn't choir music.  Its just a group of people singing a song.  It wasn't written specifically for a group.
The Wikipedia isn't the end all of anything though...

I picked the theme and I meant a group of people singing as a choir no matter what song

Thanks for skewing the voting guys.  For now I'll pull out my entry and I'll see what I can do for a new one but I spent a small amount of time putting a disorganised and obscure video together for it that I was happy with, and this really isn't at the top of my list for things I want to do in my spare time again.

Its really annoying to have you tell me what you wanted for the theme when you aren't hosting though.  You handed it off to someone else.  You should butt out and be content with the person you handed it off to. Silly okayed my video.  I specifically asked about this detail when I entered it and before I made a video.  My first reaction was to enter it anyway but I'm not content to do that under these circumstances.  And "Raindrops keeps falling on my head" is not choir music.  When Britney Spears has a song with over 70% of it using back up singers in concert it's not choir music.

As if.  It can't not have been clear that I wasn't defending a choir song that one person sang.  You were interfering again.  Silly already okayed it and we specifically talked about just this aspect before I went to the video editor.  He is the host, not you so It's not your call to say what your intention was and its not your call that I enter it or not.  You meddled again and between trying to defend my entry to the board with Candy, on accident on her part, and you meddling I'd have to find something else anyway and I'm too embarrassed to enter what I have against other entries now.

Meddled again, when else did I meddle?
And anyway, I said what I said to you and Candy, and there's nothing wrong with me doing it, I wanted to specify what I had in mind when I picked the theme. And a 1 person overly is Lady Gaga not a choir.
Anyway if SG ok-d it then you can enter it, I STILL don't see why you can't, people can make up their own minds. And since when does SG confirm entries, he always refuses to confirm mine?

And who cares if it's not my call, I was never trying to make "a call".

Edit - Hallelujah isn't choir music anyway is it? I've always heard it sung by an individual.
+ Hallelujah was already entered into EVSC by Candy.

Last point valid then.

It was written by Leonard Cohen.  You can find crap loads of artists covering it.  You can also find crap loads of choirs covering it from independent groups such as Glee clubs to legitimate churches although churches are usually omitting a verse.

-You meddled when I hosted.
-You meddled after entries were approved and put up and I had entered Lily Allen also previously done by Candy and insisted twice that I should have to change after Tasman had already accepted it on grounds that my entry was live and the original was not and I entered without knowing it had been previously entered.
-You reportedly told Kosmos to vote someone low by private message.
-You've more frequently than anyone have an objection.
-I'm sick and in a bad mood.
-Lets just get naked and forget about the nonsense.  I'll pay for the rowboat so you can come down to Sydney.
-I want to have a bad romance.
-I don't think Bad Romance has been entered in the past.
-What the hell am I supposed to enter and why does everyone give each other ideas.  Even I've done this with someone but we aren't supposed to share our entries and its not far enough removed from the rule.
-We don't have to be naked.  You can wear leg warmers and those long gloves that Rouge from the X-Men wears and I'll cut a hole out of my Wolverine underwear, and maybe some kind of weird hat.
-The Divinci Code is on TV and the guy tortures himself for being a sinner at the beginning.

Last Edit: Thanks for the compliment
I lied, this is the last Edit: I just wrote this edit as a really cheesy joke.  Is it too soon...

I must say....I miss the discussions about our entries. By the time everyone has voted most of the interest is over. Originally we were to 'promote' our songs, which led to knowledge and input from everyone.

MeanDean...this was one entry I had in my selection. Not a choir song, but sung by a choir.
I like the choir-like interpretation of a modern song. What do you think of it?
