In Canada, it is not against the law for women to go out in public topless as long as they aren't doing it commercially or being overtly sexual.

I would guess that if they were being touched in a caressing manner maybe?  Or if someone had one in their mouth... that woud definitely qualify if there was one in someone's mouth and it wasn't a baby.  I think it would be hard for it to be overtly sexual and for there to be confusion about it.

Into the Blue is on TV tonight.  I haven't seen it and don't have any real reason to want to.
At the time it was made, some critics said that the movie lacked any real plot or substance and relied heavily on Jessica Alba's bum as anything of interest.
It occurred to me when seeing it listed, and the year, that Jessica Alba's bum is now 5 years older than it was at that time.

This has been a MeanDean public service announcement.

I've never really thought she was that impressive at acting and although I've only seen her in one interview, it left me feeling like she was sort of boring.

Unfortunately, I wound up seeing this in theatres with some school mates back in the day, and I hated it. It was devoid of any plot or characterisation, and the dialogue was virtually nonexistent. I'd found myself drifting off into a slumber during the tediously extended underwater sequences. *yawn*

Simply put, this film is nothing more than a string of underwater exploring led by some Hollywood Z-list centrefolds parading around in their undies. Oh, and the last 10 minutes of the film included some action scenes and blood for people who are into gratuitous violence that isn't justified by a coherent plot. The only bit of dialogue I can remember from the film was delivered by Jessica Alba's character (she called someone a "whore" if I'm not mistaken). Even her obligatory make-out scene with her on-screen lover lacked any chemistry. Lame.

Best avoided.

Silly the Ghost gives this film a very generous %NULL%

You're phone camera may rotate the widgets correctly when you turn in on its side for a wider shot, but that doesn't mean the software engineers didn't screw it up resulting in you taking upside down video because the lens was still supposed to be the other way around as far as the hardware was concerned.

Not sure if this is appropriate, but since the forum is closing down...

I'm sort of a technology freak.  I just reclaimed a good laptop from my evil annoying brother in law... I've been complaining to my wife that he's kept it this long for almost as long as when he got his desktop shipped over, which is why he was borrowing my awesome machine.  Anyway, the picture is a depiction of the closed nature of the iPhone and you can even say that Apple in general ... I have my gripes about them using things that were written by others under the GPL... the reason they're install disks are 2 DVD's is in part because those parts of the OS require access to the source code in order for them to use it.  A lot of their stuff is also open source liscenced that doesn't require them to disclose additions to the source code.
They have apparently done a verbal backstep on the possibility of Flash being on at least the ipad and have allowed a port of VLC on the iPad and one to come soon on the iPhone.  I think its likely because jailbreaking and carrier unlocking (huge issues in the US) were both deemed legal under "Fair Use" terms by the US courts and the US is a pretty big customer base.  There was already a VLC on jailbroken iphones that worked on prior versions of the OS but the developer didn't stick with it except to find an alternative that included a licence that allowed him to include google ads in it... what a dissapointment.

Do you go gaga  over any specific gadgets?  I waited in line for 5 hours in front of the Telstra shop for the iPhone 4 this year on its release date.  I talked about that elsewhere.
Anyone an Android user?  What do you think?
Anyone keen on getting a Windows 7 phone?
Do these things make your life more enjoyable or do they serve as a temporary fix?  For me its both.  It fills the fix of the anticipation but I really do appreciate it a lot, for example being able to play a video game or have loads of interesting things queued up to read when I'm waiting for the GP who's an hour late with appoiintments and I'm a walk in, or laying in bed each night and queing up those things to read later.

On control... holy moses I've been recently, after replacing my Windows server for a Linux one, trying to work with streaming live video from one source to the iPhone and quite literally this device only handles one kind of video and limited audio and only (I think) one container for that video and audio.  I got it working pretty good now, but it was just another thing that Apple has done, on the development side, that you must have an Apple computer to do.. or be really tricky like me.  The Windows solution took a while to incorporate as well I think, and I'm not sure but that company may very well be listed on the ffmeg wall of shame.  If not then it wouldn't supprise me to see them be put there at some point.

What's your electronic addiction?  What keeps you busy in the world of tech, apart from websites?

Oh yeah... also the picture is more specifically because Steve Jobs ironically always goes on about, angrily, how Apple is about freedom.  "Freedom from viruses (have to be approved for the app store unless you jailbreak.. and by the way, its time to start from scratch with the whole jailbreak build environment and go from nothing up), freedom from apps that drain your device (Flash) and freedom from porn (unless you jailbreak and get flash working I guess...or download and get something that can play .flv files).  So basically he's saying that Apple is making decisions to restrict things, which thereby free users.
...Freedom from normal streaming protocols.  Freedom from Windows codecs.

Hitler was looking to free the world from a lot of impurities starting with Jews.

More on the topic... what's your geek flavour?  It doesn't have to be tech either, it just has to be obsessive.. for example Dara is a JESC geek.  Silly is a Sim movie geek, etc....

Oh and zomg... I've been afraid to delve into what you can do with apache2 and cgi on linux because I didn't know how easy it was to install apache and that I didn't have to learn stuff I don't want to like php or perl.  I can use python and bash.  woot!
