How good was the last episode! Really well done!

There's only three episodes left this season. I wonder if it'll finish on a cliffhanger...did Julie lose the baby?

Yeah, I sort of hope not .. I don't like big cliff hangers BUT I do always hold out and tune back in as soon as I can..   and only 3 eps left.. I liked seeing them do their own christmas last year so it will be good to see that again this year..

Just to mention - I've seen a fair few tv weddings but Packed to the Rafters was hands down the best! Not fake, not too dramatic... just simple, funny, honest and beautiful.

Yeah, it was very well written.

I'm quite surprised they went down the wedding route for Ben and Melissa, since they already have a young married couple on the show with Nathan and Sammy. There might be a bit of a double up of story lines in the future.

I watched this last night only because I was on my PC and couldn't be bothered to change channels. It drove me nuts. I got up before the end of the double episode and went to bed. Honestly... I wanted to give it a go especially because there was a new baby in the house. I wanted to scream and strangle the new mother, Rebecca Gibney, who had done it (had babies) three times before this one and raised them to adult hood. Then the wildly annoying European bloke/friend (Italian I think he is meant to be) needs to be booted off the show. OMG I was ready to kill him and put everyone out of their misery. I'm sorry but I will not be watching this show ever again. Repeats of NCIS would of been better to watch.

I think you're referring to the Greek character there, SuziH.

I've watched the first three episodes of the series and I couldn't bring myself to watch any further. I loathed it. Utterly dumb sentimentalistic sh*t that panders to the sensibilities of their target audience. Episode 2: Father sticks up for abused daughter; episode 3: Grandson is there for grandfather as he's about to attempt suicide; episode 4: a f#$%ing flashback episode showing how the grandmother died not long prior to the series' canon. Really?! A flashback episode?! This soon?! When the characters haven't even been properly established yet? Why not just begin the series with this episode?! God, it seems they go out of their way to make EVERY episode a tearjerker. Pass me a bucket or a chamber pot, because tears are certainly not the fluid of choice for this body to be secreting in reaction to this god-awful show.

On top of the poor, unconvincing attempts by the writers in constructing a tight-knit family, the characters' "quirks" are so tacked on. Ugh! I don't believe anything about this show. It's so theatrical and contrived.

Plus... the narrations!!! There's no depth to the plot as it is! What the hell possessed the creators of the show in giving us a narration to explain the most mundane, obvious details that are occurring on the show. For instance, rather than the characters verbally expressing their bemusement in any given situation with an audible "ugh" by the narrator, the audience should be able to see that emotion ON THEIR FACES. Are the actors so limited in their ability to emote that we need their emotions and thoughts explained to us? If there's one thing I hate in television/film, it's those that suck out the ambiguity of the characters' motives and intentions. Plus, I'm not a f%#$ing moron, I can see exactly what's going on on-screen. I don't need it spelled out for me.

Rarely does a show outrage me so, but there you go.

I. HATE. THIS. SHOW. -.-

I've given the show another chance in series 2 I believe, and I saw absolutely no improvement in the quality of the series. I'll stick with the ABC and SBS for quality locally made programming, thanks.

I must admit I agree with you, Silly.
I recorded it on tuesday as I really used to enjoy it and started to watch it this evening. I gave it away after 15 minutes.
Either it has turned to crappy mush or my tastes are changing..............

Thank God the Tour de France is starting in a few days.................

I've been longing for a locally made family drama for quite some time, but sadly, this didn't cut it for me.

If I wanted to watch a show about fantastically ideal white people, I'd watch *shudders* 7th Heaven or The Brady Bunch. *barf*

The Street on ABC 2 is pretty good, its not local but it is English, and well made.
