I am surprised there is no thread covering bike races, so I decided to start one. I follow both the superbike and motogp....

World Superbike 2008 - Round One
Superbike season 2008 got away in Qatar today and both Aussies, Troy Corser and Troy Bayliss off to a good start.
I'm looking forward to Phillip Island next week.

Troy Bayliss won has a dream start to his final year in the World Superbike Championship getting poll position for Phillip Island today.
Yesterday did not not start out well, with Troy Bayliss (Ducati) crashing three minutes before the end of the morning Q2 session after setting the quickest time. He needed eight stitches in his left arm but back on his bike was able to shaved a further three-tenths off his time to take the pole away from his fellow Aussie Troy Corser (Yamaha).
Race starts today at 1200hrs.

Triple wins for Aussie's at Phillip Island
Troy Bayliss dominated both SBK 22 lap races, and won each comfortably. Troy Corser led the second race, only to crash out after the fourth round.

Riders points at end of second round: 1. Bayliss 88; 2. Nieto 61; 3. Xaus 59; 4. Corser 45; 5. Checa 45; 6. Neukirchner 39

World Supersport
Five riders duelled for first place in the World Supersport race. It was an exciting, right down to the last lap of the 21-lap race. Aussie, Andrew Pitt crossed the line first, ahead of Joshua Brookes and Robbin Harms, Fabien Foret and Jonathan Rea. Garry McCoy worked his way up to sixth from a starting position of 17. Broc Parkes crashed out.
