Quoted from Paula
Was that in a week or a fortnight or what?

Paula, in a week. The contestants are eliminated on a weekly basis. The team that has lost the least amount of weight in the Sunday weigh-in, is up for elimination. They then choose a teammate to be 'evicted' based on any reason they desire, but usually it's because they have lost the least amount of weight (hence why AJ's catchphrase is: "It's time to cut the fat!").

I like AJ - I think she performs in the role nicely and she is a terrific host of the finale.

Is love brewing in The White House? Can you guess who they are..

Sunday 24th Feb @ 6.30pm – For the first time the trainers are present at the weigh-in. Which of them will face losing a member of their team this week?

Monday 25th Feb @ 7.00pm – Elimination day and one team has to decide which contestant to send home.

Tuesday 26th Feb @ 7.00pm (one hour special) – with Elimination over for another week, Michelle reminds her team that there's no time to rest and puts them through yet another gruelling session. There's another decision to be made at the Warehouse.

Wednesday 27th Feb @ 7.00pm – The stakes are high in tonight's Temptation entitled Cinema Parifeasto. One contestant's determination is duly rewarded.

Thursday 28th Feb@ 7.00pm (one hour special) – Two contestants secretly chat about their attraction to each other. Could this be the beginning of the first Loser romance? A shock revelation leaves trainers and contestants stunned.

Friday 29th Feb @ 7.00pm – Trouble is brewing in one of the camps as team loyalty is questioned ahead of tonight's Challenge.

Well if they are eliminated on a weekly basis, they're not losing a lot really.  It just proves that starving them and treating them like elite, fit athletes - exercisewise - doesn't work so well.

That's my beef (no pun intended) with this show.  It's unrealistic.

P.S. for those that think I am being harsh, I've lost 6.9 kgs in 3 weeks without starving and without doing exercise that is dangerous to my health and/or beyond my limits.

Paula, when you make comments like that it is really obvious you don't watch the show. Everything is done safely and they are not starved. The 3kg and 3.7kg weigh losses were the worst of the week, most got more than double that (up to 12.6kg I think it was one of them got). One of the contestants is only allowed to walk and diet because of heart issues and he still managed to lose over 10kg.

I like this show but I wouldnt call this show safe or ethical in some respects. I would have thought everyone would have had a medical before they were accepted for TBL. I am still really bad with most people's names but what about that one guy who had heart problems or something who is no longer allowed to run. On the first night when they had to prove themselves he would have been pushed far beyond safe limits, which the trainers would have known had there been a thorough medical.

Seriously when you make comments like that it shows you know little about safe weight loss.  If those losses are the case, then it's horrendous.  It's not ethical to push people to those limits and can cause serious health issues.

Thise are my opinions as well as those of ethical doctors.

Paula if you don't watch it you wouldn't really know. One guy has bad heart issues, all he does is walk, they make sure, and like seriously said he lost over 10kg in 1 week. They don't train in excessive amounts and it isn't only exercise they are taught how to eat and cook healthily. Once they leave they usually lose like 20kg or so in like 2 months so it slows once they leave. It isn't like, omg lets starve.
Essentially if it helps even a few of them become healthier then the show has purpose other than entertainment to a million Australians.

Congratulations Paula "I've lost 6.9 kgs in 3 weeks without starving and without doing exercise that is dangerous to my health and/or beyond my limits." The huge weight losses on TBL are obscene. Every year  the professional medical community  send up a hew and cry regarding the way they lose weight and the speed at which they do it on this show. That is why so many of them have so much excess skin when they are done. It took my son 18 months to lose 70kg. He did it sensibly and healthily and he didn't have any excess, left-over skin. I remember Adro a few years back when he won, he needed operations to cut the excess skin off. The contestants who leave the house before the finale actually lose weight at the safe and healthy rate. 17.? Kg loss in 2 months by the first person to leave this last week is a nice weight loss. Sean lost 14kg in one week, I almost had a fit when I saw that. 2.2lb per Kg means he lost 30.8lb which is over 2 stone!!!

A Happy New Year
