'I was no rebel'

By Alicia ButwellIn the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, celebrity super council contender, John Morrall will be back.
He may have been shown the door last night on Network Ten’s The Biggest Loser, but the Sunshine Coast will be seeing more of John’s vibrant character as he runs for division 12 at this month’s election.
In the lead up to the polls, John has been training harder than ever and carefully dieting after his life-changing experience on the popular reality television series.
Last night saw a dramatic showdown where John was evicted from the house for breaking the rules of his training regime.
Having suffered a suspected heart attack in June last year, John was to be accompanied by a medic when training and to wear a heart monitoring chest belt every minute of the day.
“I suppose I’m the type of person who pushes boundaries if need be to see how far I can go and I can be pretty stubborn,” John said.
“But the restrictions became tighter, yet I became fitter and I really struggled with getting my head around that.
“And there were some stages where I went and trained without a paramedic and as far as the show went, the rules were broken.”
Denying he was a rebel in the house, John said he believed he was true to himself and did not compromise who he was unlike some of his other contestants.
“I’ll say this, I was never a rebel but I was true to who I am and that was the most important thing from day one.
“But with a lot of the other people in the house, the minute the camera goes on them they are very different people, there’s some great little snakes in there,” he said.
But his stubborn streak cost him dearly last night, when John was told he could not attend the finale of this year’s series, something that came as quite a blow.
“One of the things I visualised when I was meditating was me at the finale looking fantastic.
“I had my whole picture, rocking up on the Harley Davidson, jeans, boots, a cool belt buckle and a great t-shirt, walking down and looking at myself.
“That was my visualisation and they’ve just said to me that ‘you won’t be invited to the finale’ and that knocked me on my backside,” John said.
But John didn’t walk away empty handed. He received a wealth of information about nutrition and he credits the show for his dramatic weight loss of almost 30kg.
And now as he does the family’s grocery shopping, John scrutinises every packet for its nutritional value.
“I learnt a lot about nutrition and the importance of it and how many calories are in this and how much sodium is in that and that has definitely changed my life.
“Do you know what’s frustrating? I wear glasses so I have to take my glasses to the shopping centre now,” he quipped.
While he may not be returning to the White House or the grand finale of The Biggest Loser, John could find himself the biggest winner at this month’s election.
But until the public votes, John is just happy to sign autographs and pose for photographs which have accompanied his new found fame.
“I’m still coming to grips with this celebrity status, it’s nice that people recognise you, there’s no two ways about it,” he said.
“And more than anything as far as weight loss goes; nobody can ever tell me for the rest of my life that you can’t do it, because I know that if I can do it, they can do it.
“Because I am nothing special, I am just another bloke like everybody else.”
http://www.thedaily.com.au/news/2008/mar/06/biggest-loser-says-he-was-no-rebel/IMHO John broke the rules set down for his being in the house and he should of been booted... Sean should be brought back in his place. He is not invited to the finale and that is justly deserved punishment in my book, just how Steven does not deserve to be invited to the finale because he walked out in the US. Truly, why do people throw away opportunities like this that is a once in a lifetime thing?
