Well, let’s face it, drugs in sport is here to stay.  The drugs are becoming more sophisticated and are nearly impossible to detect.

Why not split the Olympics into two genres: the totally open and unrestricted Olympics, and the all Natural Olympics.

The catch here is that the drugs being used successfully in the Open Olympics would be readily available and known.  Once their presence and composition are known then tests for their use would be easier to administer in the Natural Olympics.

I for one would be curious enough to watch the Open Olympics.

And have athletes outdrug each other? Imagine all the outrage and controversy over rewarding people for abusing the use of drugs.

It's just not gonna happen.

Not abusing – Surgeons will manipulate us and doctors give us drugs all the time to improve our wellbeing and make us better than we were before. So the logical conclusion is that if I can’t run as fast as we want to, what is wrong with using science and technology to improve oneself.

Yes, but in the so called open olympics you would still get athletes usiing the illegal ones to get a jump on those using well known ones.

No.  Totally open and unrestricted.  If you restrict some we end up back to square one, everyone trying to beat the system.

If their head explodes during the weightlifting or they die in the marathon then we know for sure what is harmful.  Successful drugs can then also be used for medicinal purposes.

It's wrong because doctors and surgeons don't try to push us beyond our physical limits. They try to RESTORE our physical capabilities.

If you really want to run as fast as you want to, you practise or work out. Abusing drugs is not the answer.

If sportsmen/women do die or become grotesque because of drugs then let the young aspirants see what can happen to drug users.  This will do more to dissuade them than some quirky TV ad.

I think cigarettes should be renamed to Scumsticks.
