Cowboys will rule in 07 and the Gold Coast, while they will have some early success will be bottom or near bottom of the ladder come September.
Damn shame about the Broncos in England. Clark should have done something about that tackle on Sammy, it was dangerous and it knocked the steam out of him which changed the dynamics of the game. But still, the horsies should have been strong enough to overcome this incident.
Here are the latest prices to win the NRL Comp 07... (TAB Odds)
Newcastle look over the odds, St George way under and Melbourne look firm fav's.
Can Souths improve this year, with the money they have spent you would hope so? The books have Canberra as fav's for the Wooden Spoon, their trial form started a little off key but they hit their strides later on in the trials, for me i'd have money, just a little on St George to take the Wooden Spoon.
That's how i would frame the market after round 1.
Knights: looked good without Joey, St George: looked underdone, Parramatta: Woeful, Titans: maybe one or two stood out, Melbourne: only did what they had to, Cronulla: strong win, Canberra: Woeful, very Woeful, Manly: Against Canberra they looked good, Bulldogs: fell away in the 2nd half, looked tired, Brisbaneld, Roosters:??? Souths: better then the roosters, Warriors: standout winners of the round, they look strong, West Tigers: lacking something, direction?, Nth Qld: strong 1st rnd, Penrith: rusty?
What a round, Titans get their first win! The Dogs loose two in a row(did anyone pick that?) and Brisbane(is Wayne Bennetts regin about to end?)
Here is the review of Round Two...
PENRITH: Awesome, won easily. The Halfs were great. BULLDOGS: Tiring, underdone? ST GEORGE:Couldn't finish off what they set up NEWCASTLE:Finished off where St George didn't WEST TIGERS:Showed little direction MANLY:Nice strong win CANBERRA:Wooden Spoon(Make room) MELBOURNE:Easy NORTH QLD:They were strong all over the park SYD ROOSTERS:They look but a shadow of their former self WARRIORS:Strong, good team across the board BRISBANE:Old? looked lost SOUTHS:Who says money doen't buy wins PARRAMATTA: i feel sorry for Hagan, pack of non triers GOLD COAST:Strong win, very honest team CRONULLA:The better team making little silly mistakes
We should probably start calling them the South Pacific Rabbitohs. The new imports bring the best out of Fa'alogo and they still have Galuvao coming off the bench aswell. Could you imagine how good it would have been if Fletcher stayed on. The real test will come halfway through the season when all the teams have settled in but so far they are playing good positive football.
You might be onto something there CS. To broaden their supporter base, calling themselves the "South Pacific Rabbitohs" might just do it without too much fuss from the hard core supporters.
I don't think Fletcher would have lasted another season, as I doubt Jason Smith will. But he would be very useful as a skills coach.

Souths shoudn't be bothered by the State of Origion so could actually do better during this time.
South Pacific Rabbithos could even play some home games in Tonga and Fiji. They would be assured of a sellout if they did and even encourage more to attend their Sydney games.
I agree with cactus' assesment on Fletcher and Smith.
