i better tell you my biggest hates are those who try to walk over me take drugs people who tamper with kids and miss treat women

One of my biggest hates is those that generalise about a race of human beings.  There are bad apples in every race.

According to the Bureau of Statistics:

In Australia the average income is $585 per week.
The average for Aboriginal people is $364 per week.
Aboriginal income in cities is $435 per week.
Aboriginal income in remote communities is $267 per week.

You said you received $250 per week on a disability pension and that aboriginals received twice that.  None of those figures is twice $250 and  state "income" not benefits.

The most frightening thing about this is that groceries in remote communities cost up to three times more than in the city. Check out my article Christmas In Poverty for a bit of story about this.

It is almost impossible to sustain adequate nutrition and a healthy lifestyle in this situation - a problem which leads to despair, and of course the addictions that accompany despair. Alcohol and drug habits are even more difficult to support in such poverty. Mainstream people, earning an average of $315 per week more, are economically better enabled to manage their habits and maintain basic health, therefore living an average of twenty years longer than their Aboriginal peers.

I'd say that's why they get more.

Paula, Why are you comparing welfare payments with income.

The Figures you displayed is "income" not welfare payments.

I'm not comparing anything with anything.  Steven commented on his welfare payment amount and compared it with those figures.  The statistics were what he provided.

No I don't.  I merely state a fact, that I don't like ten much. In fact, in a post recently I listed 3 shows I do watch on ten.

My brother worked in a remote indigenous communite for 3 years when he first became a qualifed techear he would spend hours decorating there room to make it look like they wear under the sea he took the entire class to Cains thay all stayed in 5*accomadation thay went on crusie ships snorkled the great barrier reef all payed for by the government of course at christmas time the school would recive $20,000 to have a christmas party as for the poor health care all the remot comunites have there own health care clinics which is free for them all to use they get less money in the remote comunties because thay cost so much money to run imagine an entire communtiy  100%funded by tax payers it dosen't come cheap. and there are people who are realy trying to help the aboriginals. The fact is that the majority of them dont want help. My brother tried realy hard to reach out to his students and help them to make good decisions in life  and for all of his hard work and determination you now how they thanked him by breaking into his house 3 times and sling shotting his dogs with ball bearings and i suppose Paula will say that the aboriginal kids deserve more government funding than white kids because thay are decendents of the stolen generation and that thay should be allowed to break into peoples houses because there poor hard done by aboriginals or maby she will say that white people commit crimes too you now which is very true but not 85%of them
