Well, if they did "bet" then they may find themselves in hot water (a la Simon Goodwin). As I tell my year 8s, at least spell things correctly if you're going to do the "na na na na na" thing The past tense of "beat" is "beat". "Bet" is what one does on AFL games/horses etc. |

Well, sometimes when you do the "nanna" thing ( ) you don't type into your keyboard correctly And you're avoiding the topic |

What do others think? I think the rule is fair.AFL heat policy extreme: Eade Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade says the AFL has panicked by introducing its extreme heat policy for tomorrow's preseason cup match against Sydney in Canberra. Each team will be allowed to use eight interchange players rather than six because the temperature is tipped to reach 33 degrees Celsius. Eade said the temperature should have to reach at least 35 degrees before teams were allowed extra players. "I would have thought minimum 35 degrees so I think maybe some people have panicked," he said. Eade said the expected heat would not affect his plans to interchange his players throughout the encounter. "Even if it wasn't warm we were going to give everyone half to three quarters so whether it's back or forward, but certainly the midfield will rotate pretty heavily," he said. http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/200702/s1855357.htm |

I am concerned about their lack of "big men". I don't think things are going to be too good, but I am sure they'll give it their all. |

What does everybody think of the penalties handed out by the AFL regarding the betting scandal. I think they got it about right. Goodys was pretty harsh. |

I think they all should have had the same penalty. They all broke the rules. |

Somehow the process seems flawed. Kerr gets $10000 for a drunken assault, drug cheats get 3 warnings which are kept private, but Goodwin who admitted he has a problem gets a $40000 fine with half of it suspended. He didnt bet against his home team, it just sounds like they made a very public example of a player who could afford it the most. |

I agree, actually Kerr was only fined $2000 by the AFL, it was West Coast that fined him $10,000. It really looks like Goodwin was the scapegoat here..............but with the AFL you never know what they will do. |

It makes you wonder if they shouldn't have a set of rules across the board regarding inapropriate player behaviour. It looks like the AFL bases some of its findings on how they feel on the day and the profile of the player. Imagine if Michael Gardiner acted like Kerr. |

Bah, the Power lost. Round 2 winners were Geelong, brisbane and 2006 wooden spooners, Carlton. Oh and Sydney too. Did I miss anyone? |
