'Countrycide' was a good one. You keep expecting the alien / supernatural element to turn up, and in the end there is none.
Again, the sexual stuff I thought was overdone. That dirty talk in the forest between Gwen and Owen was pretty cheesey.
I agree, this episode was the best yet, although being a bit spoilt by the overdone dirty talk. Can you imagine Scully and Mulder acting like this, I think not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting for one moment that the " dirty talk " is necessary... all I think is that, because they have been put in the late night time slot they probably figure they may as well add some spice to the conversations
Mulder was so restricted by the FCC they were never allowed to discuss his pornography addiction out right, it was always alluded to.

A bit of spice is fine, or a lot of spice for that matter, but it has to be done with a bit of panache. The stuff in Torchwood is just weird and unconvincing, and seems to happen at the most inappropriate times. If you want a bit of dirty talk, the dialogue has to lead into it somehow. You can't have two characters in a forest hunting a psycho killer, and then one of them blurts out "when was the last time you came so hard"etc., and then she trys to strangle him, and then they're about to kiss. That's roughly what happened, if I remember correctly.
I don't think any relationship between Gwen and Owen is very believable. Owen is just a complete git.

Ah. In an episode of an unrelated TV show the other day, I noticed a pot smoking character asking someone if they wanted to enter a chatroom with "Gene Roddenberry's Wife".

Yes... when he threw her against the tree, I was thinking that they were under the control of some sex sucking monster of sorts. Making them do things. Wasn't terribly realistic, was it? Certainly not a line you could use on the next young lady you take a fancy to in a coffee shop

Actually they were looking for firewood not for the killer. They were just setting up camp and had been talking about the last time they "snogged" someone. So, even though I agree it was over the top, it actually was an appropriate conversation for them to be having if Owen was trying to get her into bed.
Oh and I don't believe the whole Owen/Gwen thing either. Owen is not just a complete git but ugly as a dogs butt as well. Or maybe I'm just superficial. lol

I'd like to point out Gwen is no oil painting either

From a romantic POV I don't much like gwen/owen either. I can't see them getting into a serious relationship. But from a "we're both a bit screwed up relationship-wise so we're going to have screwed-up-relationship sex sometimes" POV I kinda like it.
And I agree re Gwen. She is one of the loveliest characters on screen at the moment imo. I'd rather her any day over one of the "hollywood" clones.
