Didn't think a couple of these shows deserved their own thread so decided to do it this way.

I am loving Saturday nights at the moment with Treasure Hunters, The Bachelor and Wife Swap.
The Bachelor is great because all these women (most of them stunning) want to meet the man of their dreams and the Bachelor (Byron) is spoilt for choice.
I love the variables in the house and the fact their will be some spanners thrown into the works. What's being aired now in Australia is Season 6 of the Bachelor which was shown in th US in 2004, catch up Australia!

Wife Swap... I have thoroughly enjoyed this season so far. The wives and their husband's and most often the children also learn some things about themselves and about life, that they would not otherwise get to know, just by having a stranger come live with them for 2 weeks.

None whatsoever. Although from time to time, I watch Are You Being Served and George and Mildred. Other than that, FTA on Saturday nights suck.

Wife Swap's not bad, it always gives me a laugh. But apart from that, I really hope FTA Saturday nights improve dramatically (same with Friday nights).

The rubes are what wife swap is all about! Of course the families are always complete opposites, and when the wife gets to change the rules she always goes to the extreme.
I remember one with a 'new age' family, with crystals and meditation, and an extremely conservative christian family. When the christian mother got home and heard about what the new age mother had been teaching the family, she went all old testament and started ranting about the devil and stuff.
I'd rather something better to watch on a Saturday night though.

Ugh! Just the ads for Wife Swap are excruciating enough for me. Couldn't imagine sitting though an entire episode of that garbage! The show after(or before?)it The Bachelor is just as bad.

they aired that one last year when it was on the afternoons for a while. I read somewhere that they are "redoing" her, swapping her with another family for a new episode. a ratings ploy no doubt. I have to say that it was bizzare to see.

a clip from the original ep where she went off is here:

On saturday, I watched Doves of War, a drama series made in New Zealand and it's actually pretty good. It's of a much higher standard than most of the Australian crap that's been on the air lately.

It airs after the Saturday Night Movie on Ten (around 10:30pm).

I didn't get much of the plot after just one episode, but I'd like to tune in again next week.

But I wouldn't recommend it for the faint hearted as the show contains some realistic violence, coarse language and war crime themes. And in the episode that I watched, they were performing a cleansing ceremony in one scene where a couple of naked people dipped themselves in a pond.
