I know...but he is really a good person and he is helping others and think of the money he saves the system by getting rid of those other undisirables.

it's funny isn't it that you can't help but love Dexter, usually a killer is the last person who is loved in a show

yes it is strange and perplexing that we are barracking for the bad guy in this case... however it seems that person that came up with the idea was able to tap in to our revenge psyche, that small part of a person that wishes to be judge, jury and executioner (which of course our morals stop us from doing, otherwise we would be a socio-path) to give us an enjoyable outlet/television program

I'd have to say I think the opposite as so many people would have already watched it on Foxtel.

I am finding it impossible to watch.  I usually like this sort of thing but Dexter's leaving me cold.  Does it get any better or shall I just give up?

Assume you are watching on Ch10, not sure what episode they are up to, only a few in I'd guess, but I would definitely keep watching.

The first season gets better as it goes on.

Paula, give it a few more episodes. I found it a little hard to like at first as well, but it was worth it in the end. I especially like the narrative style of the show. One character which I could never stomach in both seasons was his sister, Deb. I don't find that actress very talented at all

Try the books by Jeff Lindsay , Paula

I read them before I knew of the TV show and loved them

Perhaps because of that , I haven't felt "engaged" by the show

I have tried to watch it several times, plus again last Sunday. I do not like the lead actor who plays Dexter and find him hard to find common ground with. I love blood guts and gore but Dexter leaves me cold. Don't like it, don't like him, don't like the over load of blood and splatter. I honestly can't stand looking at the face of the actor, he is to me, so unappealing.
Give me Burn Notice and the main actor in it any day of the week.

Not true. I was rooting for Kathleen Turner in Serial Mom.

O me Gawd Suzi...this is the first time I disagree with you

I love love love Dexter....first episode first 20 minutes ...almost turned it off..thought no I cant do this...(not a huge fan of the blood and guts) but I stuck with it and well totally fell under its spell. ..I have seen all of Season 1 and 2. I love his Sister Deb  ... I love Angel and Doakes is a crack up...... and Dexter.(Michael C Hall )..well I  loved  him in  6Ft Under where he played  a  gay funeral director ...such a great actor.... Oh well we simply cannot agree on every single thing I suppose Suzi
