In today's  (30 Jan) Herald Sun newspaper (Melbourne) it stated that Channel 10 has picked up the rights to screen Dexter in the second half of this year.

Ten have no excuses for censoring the show as it has been rated MA15+ on DVD.

Californication lasted a full season (despite below average ratings). Besides, judging by the quality of their current schedule, I wouldn't be surprised if Dexter becomes a surprise hit for Ten.

I like Dexter as well, I think it is a well played out show and I for one find the actors in it to be quite good, I know some don't like it as they find it unrealistic, but for me having read a fair bit on serial killers (and other killers) it is not that far fetched at all, especially if you look  at cases like Jefferey Dahmer's and how one victim escaped only to be returned to Dahmer by the Police (after he convinced them too).

Another John Wayne Gacy was well respected and even helped Police in their investigations while killing more under their noses and was photographed with the future First Lady Rosalynn Carter, and also had Secret Service clearance:

Quoted Text
He was even able to meet and be photographed with future-First Lady Rosalynn Carter. Mrs. Carter even signed the photo: To John Gacy. Best Wishes. Rosalynn Carter.

During the search of Gacy's house after Gacy's arrest, this photo caused a major embarrassment to the U.S. Secret Service, as the photo depicted Gacy wearing an "S" lapel pin, which meant the Secret Service had given him a high-level security clearance:

More bizarre or what could be seen as unrealistic things have happened in real life Serial Killer or Murder cases than have on the show, so anything they portray in it to me I can see as possible (even down to fires as well, there have been heaps of instances of fire bugs turning out to be an actual fireman), so someone working for a Police Department killing those he believes have escaped justice, I can buy that scenario quite easily.

For some reason I keep on missing the 2nd season eps airing now but this series is great.  I understand that CBS in the states have picked up the series to run on FTA but that they will be editing.  This may be same version Ch 10 end up running.

I like the humour in it (sorry, no pictures of serial killers at home/work/on computer though for me)

I bought seson 1 of Dexter on dvd.  I think it is one of the best shows I have seen in years.  Who would think you could love a serial killer.  Dexter is the best.

I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that Channel 10 had the option to take an edited watered down version of DEXTER, but declined and intend to screen the series in all its  original gory details.   So cool...I totally loved every minute of the two series that have screened  and intend to re visit that quirky, dark, very bad yet extremely engaging  and somewhat attractive forensic scientist when he graces our "free to air" screens....cannot wait (but only if they don't butcher it....oops probably bad choice of words there!!

it's funny isn't it that you can't help but love Dexter, usually a killer is the last person who is loved in a show
