tvaus.com is a great website.

I joined TVaus in the middle of 2004. I found the administrators of that forum Uni aged students who were always asking for donations to keep it up and running and who thought the world revolved around themselves and others their age. They were rude, disrespectful, ageist, rude, offensive, engendered uncouth behaviour, encouraged abhorrent behaviour... oh and did I mention RUDE! They had a secret 'room' where the administrators of the website and mods went where they gossiped about everyone else (and each other) and said dreadful things. These nasty people do not deserve to run a successful forum IMO.

Thanks for sharing information. I wasn't aware honestly. (I don't visit TVAus.com that often.)

be a member long enough to any half descent site Dara, and the message of a private room eventually / or straight away ( depending on personality) may get a private invitation message passed to you to accept, such a unique offer !

it's a hidden thread in a forum, specifically for the anti PC members from my experience, as some people are real freakin' sooks, and are easily offended or plain melodramatic wolf cryers who just complain about everyone & everything ( E.G - say...like a typical pom for example ?   ) ( or delete post's, errrr..whenever they feel they need for a delusional paranoid "power trip" of some desperate measures (..be it a personal insecurity - who knows ? )

but dont feel like ya missing out in here, as i don't think it would even exist - ooh & no offence to this site by any means , but, who knows ? - there could be a hidden room in here about what kinky socks you like to wear daily ..maybe...JUST MAYBE - even as rude as what size shoe you take !!!

...who just complain about everyone & everything...

You seem to be doing a lot of that lately...

Anyway, theres a difference between 'political correctness' and just plain old common courtesy and respect. Some people think that just because they can anonymously hide behind a computer screen, they can say whatever they want.

Because one of the Mods was a friend on the forum with my son, who they didn't know was related to me. They said some pretty awful and degrading stuff about the females on the forum including me and especially anyone who appeared to be over 24. I was very vulnerable at the time and instead of giving me an outlet it actually made me quite sick with depression. I got out of it last year when eBlah MarkII started up, and I am much happier with the new forum which is wonderful IMHO.

I went to look at that forum and it's rather cumbersome to navigate around IMO.  That "secret room" is just pathetic.

Wouldn't hurt to have a few facts here. I actually became a moderator at TVAus after the events Suzi is talking about went down, but was most certainly there at the time.

Omission can sometimes lead to a false impression. There was no mention in the above of the fact her son claimed publicly for months to be a 40 year old photojournalist of Korean-French origins with a 9 year old daughter, complete with published books, and had us all fooled. He was quite a controversial (probably *the* most controversial) poster in his own right at the time.

Some people developed doubts, especially as the books couldn't be found on the international ISBN catalogue and no journalists knew anything about him. Ultimately IP addresses confirmed the true story, but when the facts about his identity grew clearer at a public level, there was a really strong negative (and very public) reaction (understandable as people don't like being lied to like that, even if it is online) following which the person in question and a couple of people related to him didn't return. (Actually, one did a month later and caused a near-war).

I was also a member of two "secret forums" (one of which isn't very secret, it's mentioned in the forum rules and is automatic for donors or those over 1200 posts - it was 500 post entry back then) and aware of the goings on in the mod one, and at no stage did I hear the details of this person being mentioned until after the above took place and everyone was like "WTF just happened?!" One other confusing thing in the above post is that nearly all the mods were women in the 30-45 age range, although the board owners were indeed uni students. That has become more balanced as time has progressed (about half are now males between 18 and 30).

For the record I'm an ex-eBlah poster, I used it for about 2 months in early 2004 before migrating to TVAus. I've made a lot of friends over there and I've even had an opportunity to meet with some of them. While any place has a mix of good and bad people, I've had the fortune of getting to know some of the former.

Thats all nice . .

But this thread only exists because of a 'spammer'.

TVaus is not a nice looking place (in my opinion) and your 'retaliation' here backs up the observations of others that there is a bad feel to the place.

SuziH is welcome here and your sour opinion is not . . so C U later.
