Alan Jones - I thought this article was interesting, particularly the bit about him at Sydney's King's school. The bit about his sexuality was interesting too I guess.

What a great idea Paula
Today the news that Keith Urban has admitted himself to rehab. Nicole fully supporting him. We all knew he has battled drug and alcohol addiction for years. The problem causing previous relationships to flounder and fail. Nicole knew this also and has chosen to support him through his battles in overcoming his addiction. She's a better woman than I going into a relationship with a man known for his bad boy ways, heavy drinking and occassional illicit drug use. I would have run 100miles per hour in the opposite direction.

'I want to wring Keith's neck'
By Sarah Grant and Larissa Cummings
October 23, 2006 12:00am

KEITH Urban's uncle has threatened to wring his famous nephew's neck for getting back on the booze.
A devastated Nicole Kidman was forced to cancel a Hollywood press conference yesterday after her husband had fallen off the wagon.

Brian Urban, the brother of the singer's father Bob, said he was shocked by the news that Keith, who has battled alcohol and cocaine addictions, had started drinking again.

"I'd like to get hold of him. I would scrag him (wring his neck)," he said from his home in Helensville, in New Zealand.

Brian said he was not confident another stay in rehab was the answer.

"Well he's done it before, hasn't he? And it didn't fix him," Brian said.

"Why should it work the second time?"

Kidman was scheduled to promote her latest film Fur to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association yesterday but was instead taking refuge in Nashville as her country music star husband endured his first 24 hours at the Cumberland Heights clinic.

Kidman's Australian agent Wendy Day said she had spoken to the actress after she helped Urban to voluntarily check himself in on Friday morning.

"She said to me, 'Wendy, I'm standing by Keith and that's all I have to say'," Day said yesterday.

Urban was due in Sydney today ahead of an industry showcase this week and the ARIA awards on Sunday.

ARIA organisers said they would not be filling Urban's performance slot with a replacement artist.

"It's not a cookie-cutter mentality where you can just replace an artist like Keith Urban," producer Mark Pope said.

Since their wedding in Manly on June 25, the couple have spent much of the past four months apart, fuelling speculation their demanding careers have contributed to Urban's relapse.

Kidman last spoke of her love for Urban at a Rome film festival on October 13.

"I think there is a reason people who are artistic are drawn to each other," she said.

"There's a kind of inherent understanding. At the same time, you don't choose who you fall in love with."

1 y.o. David of Malawi & Madonna

The ticker, running across the bottom of the morning show on Ch 7, today, 23 Oct, stated,

"The father of David wants him back after he's educated."

I can't find anything written on the WWW to substantiate this, nor did Ch-7 verify it verbally during the show.

Does anyone have details on what's going on with David's father? What the complications truly are? (And how did Madonna get David to London when he's not even truly adopted, yet!?)

The news says he can't read or write, and relys on what the government tell him. He was under the impression that his boy would be 'looked after' by Madonna until his formal education was complete, then he would be handed back to him. When he found out that wasn't so, and that Madonna was to adopt the boy, no longer making him father to little David, he was very upset. He says he'd rather his son stay in the orphanage where he can visit whenever he likes than to have Madonna adopt. As much as orphanage life would be bad, I think life with Madonna would also be bad...

Sugar mama Beyonce gonna roc tha bloc
By Sarah Grant
October 24, 2006 02:00am

KEITH Urban may not have landed in Sydney yesterday as planned - but the surprise arrival of bootylicious singer Beyonce Knowles and her rapper boyfriend Jay Z still made for some serious stargazing at Sydney airport.

The crazy-in-love couple touched down for Jay Z's Australian concerts amid speculation ARIA organisers were trying to recruit them as Urban's replacement at Sunday's ceremony.
Despite her casual appearance, Beyonce's star power still outshone her burly boyfriend as the couple made their way through the airport.

The former Destiny's Child singer has accompanied Jay Z on his worldwide Roc Tha Block tour and is expected to join him on stage during Wednesday's Entertainment Centre show in Sydney.

While they are due to leave Australia the morning of the ARIA awards, industry insiders were yesterday speculating over their last-minute inclusion.

"He's supposed to be flying out on Sunday but you never know your luck," a spokeswoman for Jay Z's record company Universal said.

Thanks for posting a reply! Why would life with Madonna be so bad? Even in tabloids there's never negative reports about her parenting. In fact she's supposed to be an awesome mum, from what I've read. I'm not sure she's very good at projecting herself in the entertainment world but she's a good business woman.

I feel really sorry for the dad though. But is he a truly loving parent to keep his son in an orphanage? How 'bout if Madonna sponsors him to live in London and be part of his son's life? (She could at least offer.)

It creeps me out that Beyonce owns stock in furriers, and that she wears real fur as well. She's not making it onto my radar.

JLo leaving her dog unattended 3 days, with all it's water spilled and it's food untouched and spoilt and crying it's little lungs out and pawing at the door so much he ruined it, makes me think being a pet or child to JLo would not be wonderful. The little dog was covered in feces and had lost his voice from crying so hard. I Hope JLo doesn't breed.

I am very sceptical when it comes to tabloid gossip like the above account of what JLo apparently did. I have found JLo a very caring person, along with her husband and cannot imagine either of them leaving a pet alone. With money and friends like they have surely they would either... Take the dog with them, hire a housekeeper/gardener and they would care for the dog, pay for a professional Kennel to leave the dog at or leave it with a friend to care for. I do not, for one second believe that JLo left her dog alone.

When you post a story such as the JLo abuse of her pet please, JarrahForrester and all other posters, give a link to the source of the story to help us decide for ourselves after reading the report. I have searched and cannot find a story concerning JLo and pet abuse.

50 Cent: 'Winfrey's Turned White'

Rapper 50 Cent has accused talk show queen Oprah Winfrey of deserting her African-American roots to pander to the middle-aged white female demographic.

Winfrey, who shot to fame starring in 1985 race drama "The Color Purple" has since found huge success with her popular daytime show.

But hip-hop star 50 Cent feels her current status is at the cost of her former beliefs and original fanbase.

He says, "(She) started out with black women's views but has been catering to middle-aged white American women for so long that she's become one herself.

"I think the idea of being publicly noted that she's a billionaire makes (black women) interested in seeing her views. But it's even more exciting to the demographic of white American women she's been aiming at to see that she has the exact same views that they have."

It's not the first time the rapper has hit out at Winfrey -- last month the star joined Ludacris and Ice Cube in criticizing Winfrey's perceived negative attitude towards hip-hop's big names after she refused to have him as a guest on her show.

Err..maybe she doesnt want him on her show cause she only wants classy performers on...

Hear hear. I sure as heck wouldn't want him on my show (that is, if I had one ). And I'm certain that Oprah wouldn't invite Tom Cruise back to her show anytime soon.

If he (Jackson) really did say that to Oprah, he should go to hell (despite this, he will anyway ). What a disgracefully racist thing to say. Just what are "black" views? Those ships have sailed, and it's time to just get over or live with what happened all those years ago. Sure, there are still a lot of people who are alive today that would remember the sexism and racism that plagued society back then, but times have changed, and all these debates on "black pride" and "white pride" isn't going to make things better. Let's all just hold hands, circle the Earth and celebrate diversity. Oh god, I'm being delirious.

Nervous' Jessica Simpson Tearful After Dolly Folly
Singer Pays Tribute To Longtime Idol

WASHINGTON -- Hollywood blogs were abuzz Monday after Sunday night's 29th annual Kennedy Center ceremony that honored movie director Steven Spielberg, singers Dolly Parton and Smokey Robinson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and conductor Zubin Mehta.

They were all talking about Jessica Simpson's less-than-stellar performance of Parton's "Nine To Five" hit. Simpson, who wore a revealing black dress and clutched her stomach at times, stumbled over lyrics that were barely muttered in spots. She left the stage in a hurry after the last note dropped, gasping "Dolly, that made me so nervous!" into the mic. It also sounds like she says "you fluster me" shortly after.

Parton looked on and smiled during the performance, and leaned over to whisper to a friend after Simpson exited the stage.

Simpson was in tears when she and the other singers in the tribute came back out.

The Associated Press reported that Simpson, 26, told "Access Hollywood" she "loves" Dolly Parton's 1986 flick "9 to 5" and dreams of working with the country legend.

"That is just something that after that I could die and go to heaven and be just fine," Simpson said.

In response, Parton said Simpson "seems like a sweet girl. I've been asked to do a couple of things with her and someday I'd like to," she said.

Parton, 60, a country singer who has performed for more than four decades, is a Grammy-winner who also has appeared in movies such as "Nine to Five," "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "Steel Magnolias." And there is her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. . .

Hi-5 wedding called off
December 07, 2006 01:00am

HI-5 couple Nathan Foley and Kellie Hoggart have called off their marriage, ending one of television's most popular romances.

The children's entertainment group sweethearts were due to marry in March after becoming engaged during a holiday to Fiji last year.

But Confidential can reveal that the pair has split after three years together.

The Sydney-based Hi-5 members could not be reached yesterday, but it's understood their break-up won't affect the future of the wildly popular group, whose program is telecast on Channel 9.

Foley, 27, and Hoggart, 32, have been in the line-up since Hi-5's inception in January 1999, alongside Charli Robinson, Tim Harding, Kathleen de Leon and new fill-in member Sun Park.

In a rare interview about their relationship a year ago, the highly private Hoggart said she and Foley were "very happy and enjoying the moment for as long as we can".

"We're just getting used to it ourselves, but we're so excited," she said.

Hi-5 has sung and danced its way to worldwide acclaim - their program is now shown in more than 80 countries.

The multiple Logie and ARIA award-winning group has also reaped the riches of eight years of touring, DVD sales and international copyright of their TV show.

The fivesome placed eighth on Business Review Weekly's annual list of Australia's top earning entertainers with an income of $15 million last year.

They were still well off the $50 million pulled in by fellow kiddies' group The Wiggles.

A spokeswoman for Hi-5 said yesterday that Foley and Hoggart had "split up a while ago".

"It's a personal matter and there's no further comment."

Actors find skinny fashion disturbing
December 11, 2006 - 12:36PM

Hollywood star Kate Winslet says she finds the current fashion for ultra-thin "size zero" models and actresses "unbelievably disturbing".

"It's so disturbing because young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20 even; women are very impressionable at those ages," Winslet told BBC television.

"They're trying to figure out who they are, and they want to be loved, and what I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner, and it's truly upsetting to me."

Stick-thin celebrities such as Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham have been accused of being poor role models for young women and of contributing to a rise in eating disorders. A major fashion event in Madrid banned ultra-thin models from the catwalk earlier this year, and other fashion shows have indicated they plan to do the same.

Winslet, whose films include Titanic and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, said it was "unbelievably disturbing what's going on at the moment".

The British actress, whose latest film is the upcoming romantic comedy The Holiday, said she refuses to allow any magazines featuring the rake-thin models into her house for fear her six-year-old daughter, Mia, will see them.

"It's only a matter of time before she becomes aware of it, and it frightens the life out of me," she said.

Winslet, 31, said she hoped her success would be an inspiration to others.

"I hope that in some small way I'm able to say 'I'm a normal person, I'm doing all right, I've got a lovely husband and children and I didn't lose weight to find those things, and those things are what should be important'."

Doctor Who star Billie Piper believes that Victoria Beckham should not be a teenage role model because of her tiny frame.

Piper, who herself suffered from anorexia, told Glamour magazine: "I think the whole size zero debate is disgusting.

In the interview, the actress described the insidious psychological affects of the disease.

"It's mad. You've never been weaker but your brain is at its strongest.

"Your brain is talking to your body and they're no longer working in unison.

I find Victoria Beckham revoltingly thin. Apparently her husband has said he doesn't like 'fat' women. I expect 'fat' in his and Victoria's books means 55kg or over. Thank goodness they've only had sons! How superficial are some people, OMG. Victoria's breasts do not match the rest of her body and definitely look fake. Hugging her must be like hugging a bundle of sharp sticks The sad thing is she equates skinny-ness with beauty.

I agree, I think Victoria Beckham looks ghastly now, she looked much better when she was in the Spice Girls and had a more natural figure.

I'm happy someone who is high profile has said that. Unfortunately, the last time someone said anything about unrealistic images, it was the woman playing the wife on Everybody Loves Raymond and she was talking about cosmetic surgeries and a week later no one cared.

More on the topic, hearing about 'the obesity epidemic' is kind of weird. I just don't see it, nor do I see how it would be called an epidemic. It's a bit like saying there's a Nicotine epidemic, the way it's put, the message isn't even that something is bad for you, but that you're an idiot if you smoke or are overweight. That's what I hear over and over on shows like TT and ACA in addition to the naming chosen by the network news. It is not motivational for people who are overweight and would like to lose weight, and it is not a good message to be sending about what a person ought to be. I'm still waiting for this phantom epidemic though. I can't say I wouldn't be happier to lose a few kilos though.. obviously or I wouldn't have bothered to type.

Anyway, anorexia and Bolemia, to me, are scarier than over eating. I've known people at both ends of the problem and the ones who under-ate were not approachable about it at all yet it is more immediatley worrying.

We aren't likely to hear much more about this though, not from Today Tonight anyway... good Lord that woman is skinny.

I think we as a society are definitely getting bigger, but what is more worrying is the children are also a lot bigger and this has serious consequences for their future health. I think the main problem is that kids are not as active anymore, they get driven to school and parents are too afraid to let their young children out to play on their own, I know I am. Its so sad as kids have a lot less freedom than even I did as a child, I was always out running around or riding my bike.

Yeah that's all true. Also this um... internet thing I've heard of, anyone heard of it? I'm not sure what it is. I hear that it's a big distraction for a lot of kids. Video games too I guess.

Anyhow, good on Kate Winslet. It's not the first time I've seen her telling it like it like it is. I'm sure she'll make an unpopular statement at some point. I enjoyed watching her call Leonardo DeCaprio a girl as well. Hehehe, I shouldn't even be posting in this section after all my whinging but I did enjoy it.

Nicole Richie arrested on DUI

Dec 12, 2006 08:54 AM

BURBANK, California (AP) -- Nicole Richie was arrested early Monday for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers took Richie, 25, into custody without incident after she failed a field sobriety test, CHP Officer Todd Workman said.

Her black Mercedes sport utility vehicle was stopped in the car pool lane of State Highway 134 when officers arrived.

Authorities said they received 911 calls about a car going the wrong way on the freeway and the car matched the description of Richie's.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department report, Richie was set free on $15,000 bail. She was listed in her police report as being 5-foot-1 and 85 pounds.

Richie, star of "The Simple Life" reality series and daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie, was booked in Glendale, tested for drugs and released later Monday morning, Workman said. He said the results of the drug test hadn't been determined.

A CHP officer, Mark Garrett, told the Los Angeles Times that Richie admitted smoking marijuana and taking Vicodin before her arrest. Vicodin is a prescription drug taken for pain.

A message left with Richie's publicist wasn't immediately returned.

Richie stars with on-off friend Paris Hilton in "The Simple Life."

Burbank is 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Robbie's onstage smoking sparks outrage
Thursday Dec 14 14:00 AEDT

Health groups have dubbed rocker Robbie Williams a "very bad boy" for smoking onstage during one of his sell-out Brisbane concerts.

The British entertainer on Wednesday night smoked a cigarette during banter with the 52,000-strong crowd at Suncorp Stadium, in the first of two Brisbane shows from his Close Encounters world tour.

Williams, 32, told the adoring crowd he was well aware of a smoking ban at the venue, but had failed in his attempts to quit.

Authorities have urged Williams not to repeat sending the "wrong message to kids" and flouting the law by sparking up again at Brisbane's second show.

The Queensland Cancer Fund's prevention and early detection unit manager Susan Greenbank said his smoking performance was disappointing, but hardly surprising.

"Robbie's a very bad boy and there are a number of staff at the Queensland Cancer Fund who are more than willing to give him a stern talking to about this," Ms Greenbank said.

"It's disappointing he chose to break the law.

"(But) that's probably indicative of his attitude to most things ... he's very 'I'm Robbie Williams I can do what I like' - it's just consistent with the rest of his behaviours, so it's probably not that surprising."

A spokesman for Health Minister Stephen Robertson said authorities wouldn't pursue a $150 fine for Williams - the penalty imposed for breaking anti-smoking regulations at sporting venues.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=170788

I think Robbie Williams as a singer, can be brilliant but not that long ago I started to feel he takes things just that bit too far. He mooned an audience at one of his shows. Indecent exposure! I have a firm distaste for people who feel the need to expose their bums to others. I truly hate it and since then don't watch Robbie Williams at all when he is on TV. Smoking and the public act thereof only reaffirms my opinion of him.

Regarding the above posts on obesity and slimness. I find so many girls and young women these days are super slim. My daughter wears hipsters and trendy clothes that show of her waist and hips and she looks fabulous at almost 30 yrs of age. I notice many girls/women when out shopping, who are teeny tiny things. Not terribly well endowed on top as opposed to Victoria Beckham but very feminine waists and hips. What used to be called 'petite' around 162-165cm tall and 45-55kg.There seems to be an entire generation or two of them.

What the gossip magazines say
January 23, 2007

Hollywood is a small pool and most of its inhabitants possess the imagination of stunted goldfish. They appear to enjoy going round and round in circles, and they are attracted to shiny things. Nowhere is this more apparent than during the awards season, which is lovingly and slavishly chronicled by the goss mags.

The Golden Globe Awards were held last Monday, and already we've forgotten who won what (if, indeed, we ever cared). The mags certainly haven't, devoted as they are to bringing us the behind-the-scenes gossip from the after parties.

And so we learn in Famous that the actress Cameron Diaz got sloshed at an after party and made embarrassing attempts to win back her erstwhile boyfriend, Justin Timberlake.

While some gals deal with break-ups by donning trousers with an elasticised waistband and hiring Anne of Green Gables on DVD, this was not Diaz's way. Instead she drank her body weight in champagne and, NW alleges, screamed shrew-like at one of the many women her ex was chatting up, before revenge flirting with the actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The next day she flew to Hawaii for a special "safari" with professional surfer and Pamela Anderson cast-off Kelly Slater. Slater's powers of consolation are probably better than Anne of Green Gables's.

Brangelina left the kids at home to attend the Golden Globes, and according to Woman's Day and New Idea, celebrated the occasion by having a row on the red carpet. Their presence meant Brad Pitt's former wife, Jennifer Aniston, had to stay at home, although her best friends David Arquette and Courtney Cox were in attendance.

Presumably there is some sort of central roster which divvies up award ceremonies' attendance rights between warring celebrity couples. Pitt got the Golden Globes, so perhaps Aniston will get the Oscars, with lesser festivals such as Cannes and Sundance decided on a case-by-case basis.

Alas, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman obviously omitted that clause from their divorce settlement. Having successfully avoided each other in public for many years, the wheels almost fell off the carefully image-managed wagon at a Golden Globes after party that they both attended with their respective new spouses.

When Kidman and Keith Urban rocked up at one end of the VIP marquee, and Cruise and Katie Holmes were mingling at the other, it very nearly resulted in a tear in the space-time continuum. Luckily, according to OK!, Cruise ushered his new wife out of the party and a crisis was avoided.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/peo.....ullpage#contentSwap1

The article goes on to bag more magazines for their stories. Surely any balanced adult would agree that if you can't be civil to an ex especially when married to someone else, then you need to grow up. Good grief!

Sharon Stone film in fight for 'worst'
Tuesday Jan 23 06:22 AEDT

Who says you have to be good to win an award in Hollywood?

Sharon Stone may have hit stardom years ago with her original version of Basic Instinct, but last year's sequel belly-flopped big time.

It is now is up for top honours at the 27th annual Golden Raspberry awards celebrating the worst in filmmaking.

Basic Instinct 2 received seven nominations, tying the unfunny comedy Little Man, made by the Wayans brothers, for the most nominations at the Razzies, which will be held on February 24, a day before the Oscar awards are given.

Basic nominations came for worst picture, actress, supporting actor, director, sequel, screenplay and screen couple while Little Man earned nominations for worst picture, remake/rip-off, director, screenplay, screen couple and two different nominations for worst actor.

John Wilson, who heads the group that spoofs the Oscars by celebrating the year's worst films, called Stone's movie "a lascivious murder mystery that turned out to be a laugh riot," and he dubbed Little Man "a comedy nearly as devoid of laughs as Schindler's List."

Shawn and Marlon Wayans star in Little Man, directed by their brother Keenen Ivory Wayans in what Wilson called a blatant knock-off of a 1954 Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Also up for the worst movie competition was M Night Shyamalan's fantasy Lady in the Water, The Wicker Man, starring Nicolas Cage and BloodRayne, a bloodless vampire movie directed by Uwe Boll, who is hailed on the internet as one of the world's worst directors.

Five films are competing in a new category called Worst Excuse for Family Entertainment: Deck The Halls, Garfield: a Tail of Two Kitties, RV, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause and The Shaggy Dog.

Vying for worst actor are Tim Allen, for three films, Santa Clause 3, The Shaggy Dog and Zoom, Cage for Wicker Man, Larry, the Cable Guy (Dan Whitney) for Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, Rob Schneider for The Benchwarmers and Marlon and Shawn Wayans for Little Man.

Competing with Stone in the worst actress category are sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff for Material Girls, Lindsay Lohan for Just My Luck, Kristanna Loken for BloodRayne and Jessica Simpson for Employee of the Month.

I have decided Victoria Beckham is not as dim as she seems. Two reports in the news today confirm this for me.

Posh rejects Cruise Scientology overtures
Tuesday Jan 30 09:00 AEDT

Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has told pals she won't become a Scientologist when she moves to the US — because the cult-like religion is a waste of money.
The singer says despite her close friendship with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes she won't be signing up.
She told a friend: " There's no way I'd spend any money on that nonsense."

It was rumoured that Posh and hubby David Beckham would become the newest recruits to the celebrity-friendly religion founded by sci-fi author L Ron Hubbard when they move to the States later this year.
Hollywood superstar Cruise and wife Holmes are the Church of Scientology's most famous supporters.
And the Beckhams are close pals with the pair.
But now friends of Posh are saying there's no way she will become involved.
A source told a US newspaper: "It's completely laughable that there's even talk of her becoming a Scientologist.
"Just because people are friends with someone doesn't mean they do everything they do.
"Scientology is like Kabbalah in that it's become all about money. "Kabbalah bracelets are now $28. It's a joke."
Posh Spice and football ace husband Beckham, 31, are expected to move to California this spring after he scored a five-year, $250 million contract to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The pal added: "Scientology is an expensive religion; Victoria is too cheap to convert."

It comes after mum-of-three Victoria, 32, laughed off reports she had landed a role as an extra-terrestrial bride in a Scientology film made by Tom Cruise.

She told a British newspaper: "It's quite hilarious for two reasons.

"Firstly, you'll never see me on screen again because I can't bloody act to save my life.

"Secondly, although I get offered quite a few parts, I'd never do it as I wouldn't want to wear anything the wardrobe department would put me in."

The pair are also rumoured to be appearing in an Osbournes-style reality TV show in the States

ROFL, love the bit where she says she "Can't bloody act to save my life" heheheh

Posh's pink fit
January 30, 2007 - 10:22AM

Victoria Beckham is reportedly refusing to follow Elizabeth Hurley's Indian dress code for her upcoming wedding.

The former Spice Girl, who prides herself on her sense of style, was horrified when she received Liz's invitation instructing female guests to wear traditional pink saris, and has vowed to ignore the request.

A source was quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "The thought of arriving in India and picking an outfit doesn't appeal to Victoria. She's a planner. What if there's nothing she likes?

"Her style icon status is her stock in trade and pink just isn't her colour."

Model Liz and her fiance Indian business tycoon Arun Nayer, who are expected to marry in March, sent guests copies of their dress code earlier this month.

The nuptials will begin with an English ceremony in the Cotswolds, followed by a traditional Indian ceremony in Mumbai.

Stylish Liz wants her guests to look "glamorous and fabulous" in traditional Indian dress.

Men have been asked to wear Indian tunics and turbans.
A shop will be specially set-up for guests to buy their clothes when they arrive at their hotel in Mumbai.

Same. Loved that part too Suzi lol.

I'm glad that Victoria seems to stay true to her roots. I doubt that even she would be stupid enough to convert to such a ridiculous cult. Paris Hilton, maybe. But I doubt anybody would have the pride to consider her a friend.

Kylie Minogue splits with French boyfriend: statement
Saturday February 3, 11:50 AM

LONDON (AFP) - Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has separated from her boyfriend, the French singer and actor Olivier Martinez, the couple said in a statement.

"Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple," the pair said in a joint statement published by Britain's domestic Press Association news agency.

"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable.

"The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends."

Britain's News of the World tabloid claimed last Sunday that the couple's four-year relationship was on the rocks and alleged Martinez, 41, had been unfaithful.

Minogue, 38, was forced to cancel two upcoming concerts on the British leg of her "Showgirl Homecoming" tour last month due to a respiratory tract infection.

The singer, who is back on tour following treatment for breast cancer discovered in mid-2005, also had to pull out halfway through a performance in the north-west English city of Manchester due to the flu.

Minogue spoke in glowing terms of Martinez's support for her after her diagnosis with cancer in May 2005 and how he helped her through the darkest days of her treatment.

"Olli was there all the time, helping with the practical stuff and being protective," she told British Elle magazine last November.

"I don't like to say too much in public about Olivier as he's a very private person, but I will say that he was incredible.

"He didn't hesitate in cancelling work and putting projects on hold so he could be with me. He's the most honourable man I have ever met."

Photographs taken by Martinez showing Minogue on the road to recovery after chemotherapy were published on her website.

"Kylie -- The Exhibition" is due to open at London's Victoria and Albert Museum on February 8 featuring costumes and memorabilia collected throughout her career.

It must be hard to be underweight and unable to put on a bit of weight/bulk. Daniel has the potential to fill out by the looks of him and that comes for a man somewhere between 25-30years of age.

Adendum: just read all the posts above me on this page! I think Daniel has a LOT of potential and obviously works out. Ryan Reynolds was soooo buff in the final Blade movie and looks like he still is Whatever happened to the guy that was in 'two guys and a girl' (and a pizza place) with him? I think I saw him in something briefly recently. Ryan is like the young fellow in NYPD Blue who used to be in 'Saved by the bell'... they both grew up to be very yummy.

I'm thinking of putting up a new interpretation of Silly from time to time. The last one was an "artist's impression" drawn by Juugoolart.

The current one is a snapshot of him as he appears in the Sims. (as created by me lol, his wife Minnie was in the game too but I don't have a picture of her)

And on an unrelated note, 2007 will mark Silly's 9th anniversary. Yaay!

Why is that everybody else could see that Olli was/is a Casanova but Kylie! He can't keep it in his pants. She's as bad at picking boyfriends as Nicole Kidman.

Honestly, they should just try dating services, surely they'd find a better bloke there than the ones they choose themselves!

Why is that everybody else could see that Olli was/is a Casanova but Kylie! He can't keep it in his pants. She's as bad at picking boyfriends as Nicole Kidman.

Honestly, they should just try dating services, surely they'd find a better bloke there than the ones they choose themselves!

If they just didn't go for the famous 'pretty' boys! It goes to show what bad taste Olivier has if he hooked up with Michelle Rodriguez before Kylie let alone during his relationship with Kylie!
Rumour has it that Penelope Cruz has been 'consoling' Martinez which goes to show she too has bad taste in men but at least she gives them the boot instead of marrying them!
The huge problem with Nicole is, she chooses bad boyfriends and then she marries them

It always baffled me why girls would go for 'not so atttractive' guys (I doubt that their personalities are that good) just because they were famous or had money whereas if they weren't famous or rich they wouldn't even 'do the proverbial' on them if they were on fire. Then again guys go for girls based on looks so I guess it's even.

It's a lot more uncommon to see a good looking guy date a rich or famous 'not so attractive' or older woman. In that respect guys aren't that shallow.

Forget famous, it's the money. It doesn't matter if you're old, fat, ugly, bald, short, tall, etc if you've got a big roll of cash you've got a glamour.... Probably glamours actually!

I saw Sophie years ago at Movie World where she was in character as Marilyn Monroe and looked just like her! I am happy she has Nicole as her friend and not a skanky friend (of which we can think of a few). I think Nicole Richie has better morals and is not a publicity hog like some others. Plus I am sure Nicole wears panties! Neither of them in that photo look like they have any make up on... how refreshing!

I am the victim: Fiennes

February 18, 2007 12:15am

ACTOR Ralph Fiennes considers himself the victim of a sexual aggressor over the mile-high sex scandal.

The star's publicist yesterday angrily broke a week-long silence from the Fiennes camp to tell the actor's side of an increasingly sordid story. Media manager Sara Keene declared air stewardess Lisa Robertson instigated the incident in the toilet cubicle of a Qantas Airbus on a flight between Darwin and Mumbai.
"She initiated the encounter," she said, the first confirmation from the Fiennes camp that an incident did occur.

"This woman seduced him on a plane. She was the sexual aggressor.

"Yet she said in her official statement (to employer Qantas) that he initiated it . . . and virtually accused him of forcing himself upon her."

Asked if this meant Fiennes considered himself blameless, his PR manager reverted to her standard line: "I never comment on his personal life. I wouldn't comment on his actions."

She also refused to either confirm or deny allegations Fiennes and Ms Robertson spent a passionate night together once the plane had touched down in Mumbai.

When asked if Fiennes could have turned down an apparent offer to join Ms Robertson in the toilet cubicle, Ms Keene said: "Of course he could have said no.

"The point I am making is she initiated it. He didn't force himself upon her."

It was reported yesterday Ms Robertson, a divorced former NSW undercover drug squad officer, had sold her story to a women's magazine. The reports also said several colleagues on the jet saw her enter the cramped toilet cubicle with Fiennes.

"Everybody knew she was in there with Fiennes," a flight attendant said on Friday. "It's sort of being portrayed likes Fiennes was all over her, but it was the other way around.

"She was pouring him drinks and paying him lots of attention."

Another attendant said Ms Robertson had "asked a colleague to keep a lookout, but they refused".

Ms Robertson reportedly told friends she recognised the 44-year-old star of The English Patient when he got on the plane and gave him her phone number.

Her friends also say she told them she was so overwhelmed by the moment she did not care who was listening, what they saw or what they assumed was going on.

Fiennes held early morning crisis talks with his London-based publicist from his hotel room in Bruges, where he is shooting a film with Hollywood bad boy Colin Farrell as fallout from the incident continued to land.

Ms Keene – who represents other celebrity clients including Jude Law and Kate Winslet – said Fiennes should not be expected to make any comment in defence of the honour of Ms Robertson.

And he should feel no guilt if Ms Robertson is either sacked from or quits Qantas, she said.

Ms Keene said the flight attendant had changed her version of events at least twice and had sold versions of her story to the highest bidder while Fiennes had kept a dignified silence.

"If you pay all the money in the world it wouldn't buy him," Ms Keene said of her client.

"There's not enough money in the world that will make him respond in person.

"He never has, he's never going to. The story is over now as far as we are concerned."

The tired actor spent the evening standing in a picturesque market square in Bruges watching mate Farrell and a female co-star kiss for the cameras.

He smiled widely as the director offered notorious ladies' man Farrell and his female companion hints on how to smooch better.

Ms Keene said she was personally angry at the way Ms Robertson had acted.

"I'm glad she's telling the truth at last. They are my words, not Ralph's," she said.

Approached on the street yesterday, Fiennes refused to comment.

The sorry saga of Anna Nicole's life, death, baby's parentage, final resting place wishes is being aired for all the world to see. Reading today's news her Mother claims what Anna's husband has said about Anna being
"always obsessed with her own death and expected to die young, just like her hero, Marilyn Monroe" the estranged Mother of Anna said you couldn't make her believe that, she was always too full of life! ROFLMTO. What a load of hog wash. I believe Howard on that one.
The fact that no-one is listening to her legal next of kin, Howard Stern, on where Anna wants to be laid to rest... next to her son.... goes to show how screwed up the legal system actually is, in the USA. How the hell can a mother who hadn't seen her daughter for over 10 years know what that daughter wanted? Anna spat venom when speaking of her mother and hated her passionately.

Anna Nicole's mother wants grandson exhumed

February 22, 2007 - 7:37AM

Anna Nicole Smith's estranged mother has told a judge she wants to exhume her grandson in the Bahamas and bring his body to Texas to be buried along with his starlet mother in her native state.

Smith's longtime companion, Howard Stern, is fighting for the former Playboy centrefold to be buried next to her son in the island chain, where he died from apparent drug-related causes last year.

Smith was the widow of Texas oil tycoon J Howard Marshall II. The two married in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26. She had been fighting his family over his estimated $US500 million ($A637 million) fortune since his death in 1995.

On the second day of testimony in Florida, Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin indicated the best result would be a compromise - and soon - since the medical examiner again warned that Smith's body was decomposing more quickly than expected and a public viewing could be in danger.

"When you walked into the court, you hope to get everything," Seidlin said. "We will try to fashion a remedy where not everyone gets everything they want."

Smith died on February 8 at age 39. Her cause of death is under investigation.

Without written proof of Smith's wishes, Seidlin was forced to hear testimony from those who claim to know what she wanted.

Also at issue in a California court on the opposite side of the US is who fathered Smith's five-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, who could inherit millions of dollars. Stern is listed as the father on the birth certificate, but a photographer who once dated Smith says the girl is his.

Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, testified that although she had not seen her daughter since 1996, they spoke on the phone more frequently. She cried as she spoke about her relationship with Smith and her 20-year-old grandson's death.

She also disputed Stern's testimony yesterday that Smith was always obsessed with her own death and expected to die young, just like her hero, Marilyn Monroe, who was 36 when she died in 1962.

"You can't make me believe that. She was too full of life. She loved life," she said.

Yesterday, Arthur had testified that drugs soured her relationship with her daughter. Arthur said the two talked only every few months and that Smith often called her in the middle of the night sounding "drugged".

Arthur's lawyer, John O'Quinn, said on CBS television's The Early Show today that Stern caused Smith's drug problems, and that she was "egged on to say things sensational" about her relationship with her mother.

Stern earlier testified Smith never recovered from her son's death. He said a grief-stricken Smith threw herself over his body as he lay in a coffin in the Bahamas, wailing, "If Daniel has to be buried, I want to buried with him".

Stern lawyer Krista Barth said she had bank documentation proving Smith had agreed to pay for two cemetery plots in Nassau. She showed an Entertainment Tonight television interview in which Smith expressed hatred for her estranged mother.

Poor Anna, even if she was crazy as a two bob watch she doesn't deserve to be put in cold storage while people argue where she should be buried and her baby doesn't deserve to be passed around like she is with paternity pending. Even in death Anna is still in court!

Confrontingly honest is that we too would have incredibly difficult lives if we were followed around by competing camera crews and could generally only ever find cruel things about ourselves at every turn when doing normal day to day things such as watching the news or participating on an internet forum, and if not being scolded then being worshiped. It's no wonder that people have a difficult time finding a balance in this respect.

I've never seen such holier than thou attitude and gossip drooling as when Britney shaved her head after a day in rehab... best thing that happened to some of us since Star Wars, but for us the moment passes and has served our selfish purpose. Not so for our brother or sister who we've then already disregarded. It's sometimes really easy to see the sincere evil in the grin of the newsreader as well as some of our posts.

So let's wait for the news and see what sort of rumours are reported and if the internet gossip crap my wife read was true or not.

Salma Hayek expecting baby with fiance
Saturday Mar 10 10:14 AEDT

Mexican star Salma Hayek is expecting her first baby with her French fiance Francois-Henri Pinault, the actress's spokesperson confirmed overnight.

The 40-year-old screen siren, famous for her Oscar-nominated performance in Frida and Robert Rodriguez's classic 1995 film Desperado, is widely regarded as the most prominent Latin American actress in Hollywood.

"Businessman Francois-Henri Pinault and his fiancee, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child," Hayek's representative Cari Ross confirmed in a statement.

Fiance Pinault, 44, is the chief executive of luxury goods company Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, the retail conglomerate which is home to brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent.

Pinault's father is an avid art collector owning more than 2500 pieces, including Picassos, Miros and work by contemporary artists.

Eddie Van Halen in rehab
By Elaine Ford. Posted: Monday, March 12 2007 .

US rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen is the latest star to announce a stint in rehab.

Eddie hasn't specifically said what he's being treated for or where, only that he hopes rehab will help him change for the better.

The move also means Van Halen - whose band members have been feuding for years - won't reform for its induction into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week.

Human growth hormones are not the same as steroids.
I have used the man made synthetic form myself. It is touted as an anti-aging serum. Helps you to feel younger, fitter, healthier and stronger in yourself. It is a hormone found naturally in the human body produced by the pituitary gland in small doses. If Stallone is anything like his mother Jackie Stallone, he would be afraid of growing 'old'.

Snoop Dogg is denied UK tour visa

^^ Good to see some people have taste. ^^

US crap star Snoop Dogg has been denied a visa to enter the UK on a European tour alongside fellow rapper P Diddy.
He was due to play in London on Tuesday, followed by Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and Nottingham.

The performer accepted a police caution last year after being arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and affray at Heathrow Airport.

His spokeswoman said he was "mystified" at the decision.

Tuesday's London show will go ahead regardless, she added.

P Diddy will appear at the Wembley Arena show, she said.

"Snoop and his team are hoping the British government will reconsider this decision, especially as he has toured here before and sees the UK as being the highlight of the tour," the spokeswoman said.

"He has asked how he can help rectify the situation and would happily talk to and give assurances to officials."

The 35-year-old - whose real name is Calvin Broadus - was held overnight by police in Sweden earlier this month on suspicion of using drugs.

He is also currently facing weapons and drugs charges in the US stemming from three separate arrests in 2006.

Snoop Dogg came to prominence as part of the 1990s gangsta crap scene, scoring hits with What's My Name? and Gin and Juice.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it could not comment on individual cases.

I'm gay, Anthony Callea says
EXCLUSIVE by Cameron Adams
March 27, 2007 01:00am

POP singer Anthony Callea has ended years of speculation by confirming he is gay.

The Australian Idol star said yesterday he has reached a point in his life where he is comfortable enough with himself to reveal his sexuality.

"Yes, I am gay," Callea said yesterday.

"I have no issue with my sexuality now, but it's taken time to become confident with who I am and happy with who I am."

Callea, 24, said he was already planning to come out before Edge 96.One FM traffic reporter Vic Lorusso outed him on the station's breakfast show earlier this month.

"I wouldn't say this was forced, but the timing was weird. Two weeks before that I was talking about doing this. When that happened and I thought OK, maybe it's telling me something."

Callea said it had been difficult growing up gay in the Italian community and that, more recently, the support of his partner of two years, Paul, had been invaluable. The singer met Paul, whose surname he wants to keep private, while working on Idol.

"I wouldn't have been able to do this without his support. I'm being honest but I still have a personal life I'm going to keep private," he said.

He also suspected many of his fans won't be too surprised.

"I don't think it's a big issue. Who cares? This might create a bit of gossip around the water cooler but apart from that I don't think it's a major thing. If people have an issue with it, it's their issue. It shouldn't really be relevant to me being a singer and a performer."

Callea said he regretted denying he was gay during an interview in 2004 in the early days of his Idol experience.

He feared being outed may have harmed his chances in the contest.

Since then, the singer has deftly avoided the topic of sexuality, although of late he stated it was often the first question during interviews.

"I didn't want to go through another round of interviews feeling that anxiety, freaking about what people would ask me," Callea said.

Callea states no one in the Idol camp, his record company Sony BMG or his management have ever insisted he hide his sexuality.

However he admitted growing up as a gay Italian teenager was difficult.

"I went through a stage of major depression. I hated myself," he said.

"I went through a stage where I didn't want to be me. I didn't understand why I had to be this way.

"It would have been much easier not to be gay, I could have done what was expected of me and got married and had kids. But that's not reality any more.

"We don't live in the 1950s. But getting through that makes you a stronger person, it allows me to do what I'm doing now."

However the star, whose No.1 hit The Prayer is the highest-selling single in Australian chart history, hoped he will not automatically become forever known as "gay singer Anthony Callea".

"I want to be known as a singer and as a performer, this shouldn't change anything," he said.

Since having a fling with Paris Hilton, oh wait, that was Millsy.

So will the judges & hosts on Idol now stop asking

Males : Do you have a gf ?

Females : Do you have a bf ?

Somehow I doubt it

IF such a question has any relevance , perhaps "Do you have a partner" would be more appropriate ??

I'd say since he was born smexii1992.
I have one nephew and a couple of cousins who are gay and it's not something that happens suddenly and usually becomes obvious in puberty.
Sexual persuasion should not ever have any bearing on a person's abilities in any walk of like. When I am chatting to someone 'new' I sometimes ask 'do you have a partner?' and sometimes they say: Yes my husband/wife, yes I have been with him (being male themselves) for x-amount of years, yes and I am having his baby. When I organised my school reunion held in 1991
I was mindful of today's society and put 'and Partner' on the invites.
I love my gay friends and relatives sooo much.

Spice Girl's baby joy
April 3, 2007 - 8:19PM

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, has given birth to a girl in a California hospital, her publicist said on Tuesday.

The girl, Brown's second child, was born at 12.11am local time on Monday (1811 AEST) at St John's Hospital in Santa Monica.

"The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. No name has been decided on yet, and she is purely known as Baby Brown," the publicist added in a statement.

Mother and baby were now resting but face a looming paternity battle.

Brown says Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy is the father, a claim he disputes.

Brown, who performed under the name Mel B and was nicknamed Scary Spice, already has an eight-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, by ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar.

It's official... Keith Richards is a complete loon

Father gets Richards stoned
April 4, 2007 - 6:18AM

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has acknowledged consuming a raft of illegal substances in his time.

And in comments published on Tuesday, he said he snorted his father's ashes mixed with cocaine.

"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," Richards was quoted as saying by British music magazine NME.

"He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared. ... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."

Richards' father, Bert, died in 2002 at the age of 84.

Richards, 63, one of rock's legendary wild men, told the magazine that his survival was the result of luck, and advised young musicians against trying to emulate him.

"I did it because that was the way I did it. Now people think it's a way of life," he was quoted as saying.

"I've no pretensions about immortality," he added. "I'm the same as everyone ... just kind of lucky.

"I was number one on the Who's Likely To Die list for 10 years. I mean, I was really disappointed when I fell off the list."

Birkhead father of Anna Nicole Smith's child
Wednesday Apr 11 06:00 AEST

A Bahamas court Tuesday ruled that Larry Birkhead, the former boyfriend of late Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith, was the father of her baby daughter, ending months of feverish speculation.

The ruling wiped out rival paternity claims by Smith's long-time companion, Howard Stern, and actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frederic van Anhalt who had filed a lawsuit claiming he had fathered Smith's daughter Dannielynn.

"I hate to be the one who told you this — but I told you so!" a jubilant Birkhead told crowds of media and onlookers after emerging from the Nassau court-house. "My baby's going to be coming home."
Stern emerged shortly afterwards and declared he would now seek to ensure that Birkhead was granted full custody of Dannielynn.

"I'm obviously very disappointed but my feelings for Dannielynn have not changed," Stern said. "I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure that Larry Birkhead gets sole custody ... I'd like there to be a gradual transition."

Birkhead had claimed to be the father of seven-month old Dannielynn shortly after her birth last year, saying the child was the off-spring of his relationship with Smith.
Smith and Stern had fought Birkhead's paternity claims but saw a series of legal judgements go against them.

Smith was eventually ordered to submit the child for DNA testing just days before her death from a drug overdose in Florida on February 8.

But the iconic blonde bombshell's death sparked a whole new round of wrangling over the paternity of Dannielynn, with an increasingly oddball cast emerging from the woodwork to claim paternity.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=260369

Lets hope now this child can have a 'normal' upbringing.

Rapper Snoop Dogg banned from Australia
Rapper Snoop Dogg has been told not to bother coming to Australia this weekend.

Controversial US rap star Snoop Dogg has been denied entry to Australia.

A spokeswoman for Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews has confirmed that Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, is being issued with a notice of intention to cancel his visa after he failed to pass a character test.

The cancellation of Snoop Dogg's visa means he will not be able to appear at this weekend's MTV Australia Video Music Awards as planned.

Earlier this month, the star received a three-year suspended sentence after pleading no contest to gun and drug charges in the US.

1970s pop star awaits sentencing for drugs

Former pop singer Allison Durbin is in custody awaiting sentencing in Melbourne after pleading guilty to growing and trafficking cannabis.

The Victorian County Court heard 57-year-old Durbin grew the drugs in a sophisticated hydroponic set-up at her Footscray West house.

The plea hearing heard Durbin, who uses her married name, Allison Giles, had fallen on hard times since being at the top of the music charts during the 1970s.

The court heard Giles was supplying notorious Melbourne drug dealer Joe Barbaro.

Barbaro, who is serving five years' jail for drug offences, became known when his infant daughter Montana was kidnapped in 2004.

The court heard Durbin is a recovering heroin addict who had a nervous break-down and suffers from depression.

She has been on a disability pension for six years.

Durbin won the Queen of Pop title in 1969, 1970 and 1971.

The plea hearing continues.

Pop queen Durbin jailed for cannabis trafficking

Former queen of pop Allison Durbin has been jailed for 12 months for trafficking drugs.

The 57-year-old , whose hits include Put Your Hand in the Hand and I Have Loved Me a Man, pleaded guilty last year to selling cannabis from a house in the Melbourne suburb of West Footscray.

The committal hearing also included co-accused Joe Barbaro, whose baby daughter Montana Barbaro was kidnapped in 2004.

Barbaro elected to go to the County Court on charges of trafficking a commercial quantity of ecstasy, amphetamines and cannabis.

The court heard police suspected Durbin was supplying Barbaro with cannabis two years ago and a detective alleged there was a recorded conversation between the pair, arranging a meeting for a transaction.

If she was that desperate for money, all she had to do was release a few "best of" albums.

Katie Holmes gets Posh haircut
Thursday Jun 14 05:00 AEST
By ninemsn staff

The Beckhams haven't arrived in Los Angeles yet, but they are already having an impact on Hollywood fashion.

Katie Holmes was spotted by photographers in Beverly Hills at the aptly named restaurant Cuts, sporting a new hairdo that looks quite Posh.

Holmes emerged with her hair cropped short and swept to the side after having a romantic dinner with husband Tom Cruise.

But unlike her friend Victoria, Holmes hasn't bleached her brunette locks.

Holmes is no stranger to shadowing the former Spice Girl, in February she appointed Posh as her stylist for a photoshoot in Harpers Bazaar magazine.

Although Posh has reportedly denied efforts by Cruise and Holmes to convert her to Scientology, the celebrities have remained good friends.

"I really like Katie, she's sweet and we speak on the phone about fashion and the kids," Posh was quoted as saying.

"We talk about what she's doing script-wise and she's helped me research the boys' schools.

"All this talk about a marriage crisis with them is as true as a marriage crisis with us. People just don't want to believe that they're nice people and they're happy together. Just like people don't want to believe that about me and David."

pic from same site.

I like her new 'do' and it doesn't look anything like super skinny Victoria Beckham's hair! Read readers comments after the report!

Gee, I felt sorry for Brooke Satchwell after that nasty bad boy, Matthew Newton, sadly was abused by him. I don't really feel sorry for Matt though.

Today, Brooke has spoken out to abused people to report their own domestic violence issue against their so-called partners.

I have never been in an abused relationship and hopefully not one day. I think Brooke made a brave move to go out there in the media and to tell people reading the papers.

Good onya, Brooke. You are a great gal !!

Kylie Minogue lays down the law to 'love rat'
July 22, 2007 12:00am

KYLIE Minogue has re-united with love-rat Olivier Martinez for a "glorious summer" - but only on on the condition that he "settle-down" and propose, according to reports in London.

Minogue has also demanded that Martinez - whose rumoured infidelity led to the end of their four-year-relationship in February - not put himself in a position where he be photographed with other women.

In return, friends say she has promised to stop pestering him to have children, which was another factor in their split.

Friends said that after a string of heart-to-heart talks with Martinez, 41, she has also agreed to cut back on her workload.

"Kylie sees Olivier as the love of her life," a friend told a London newspaper.

"He made her feel like a woman again when she lost her hair.

"They still have a massive connection.

"After the split, they started texting each other and would reminisce.

"Kylie told him she missed him dearly and suggested that they should have what she called a 'glorious summer'."

The pair have seen each other several times in Paris in recent weeks but they have so far managed to avoid being photographed together.

Martinez and Minogue, 39, ended their four-year romance - during which he had supported her through her breast cancer battle - amid reports that the actor cheated on her with Israeli model Sarai Givati, 24.

Now they have made plans to spend what's left of summer cruising off the Amalfi Coast.

"Kylie has said to him that will have been a three-month trial, and he has to make up his mind pretty quickly whether he wants to marry her," the friend added.

See I observe Kylie as needy, high maintenence and difficult. She is an entertainer and chooses men who are either actors or models or similar. These men are most likely not the best 'husband' material and are used to a certain lifestyle. Could Kylie really see herself 'settled' and raising children? I've heard she wants to be a mother. Her age and her medical history may preclude her being a mother 'naturally'. There are however many other ways of becoming a parent. The ultimatum she has issued to Olivier is only going to put pressure on an already flawed relationship. Find a nice 'nobody' Kylie. Someone easy going, not a model or an actor, someone like Sandra Bullock's husband or Julia Roberts'

It's not Mark's fault, when you consider it's the people in charge at channel 7 who say what programmes they buy and what time slots they go in! Write to Channel Seven Steve and complain to them. Inundate them with emails and letters and phone calls and get them to change the time OR better still, take the show off the air. I don't hate Mark but I think the show is lame and doesn't do him any favours. Whoever created the show should have their arms torn off and be beaten with the wet end, repeatedly.

Aussie rocker's cancer
August 12, 2007 12:15am

AUSTRALIAN rock legend Jim Keays has been diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow.

The former frontman of iconic Adelaide band The Masters Apprentices fell ill last month while on holiday in England, where doctors found his kidneys had failed.

He was immediately placed on dialysis and made arrangements to come home.

Myeloma often manifests itself as kidney disease and British doctors quickly identified the source of his illness.

"It's treatable and it often goes into remission," said an upbeat Keays from his Glen Iris home.

"I started chemotherapy last week and I am on dialysis, and I am confident both will work.

"My kidneys are running on about 5 per cent, but they have improved a little already."

Keays's family – wife, Karin, and daughters Holly, 11, and Bonnie, 5 – are rallying around the 60-year-old.

"The doctors are quietly confident that Jim's kidney function will improve," Karin said. "Jim has such strength of will that I have no doubt he'll make it happen."

The Keays' time in the UK hospital coincided with last month's extraordinary floods in England.

"For a few days, I was driving through floodwaters several times a day to get to Jim in the hospital, then back with the girls to our accommodation in the country," Karin said.

"There were so many people, people who we hadn't met before, who were ready to help in any way they could, even when their own country was in a state of disaster. It was really heart-warming."

As one-third of Cotton Keays & Morris – the band in which he plays with fellow veterans Russell Morris and Darryl Cotton – Keays has a busy book for the rest of the year.

"We have had to drop a few gigs, but I hope to be back in business and playing with the boys next month," he said. "I've had good health all my life. Until this I had never been to hospital and I plan to get out of this one quick smart."

Masters' hits included Undecided, Elevator Driver, 5.10 Man, Turn Up Your Radio and Because I Love You. All were hits both here and in the UK.

Keays only recently completed his latest solo album, Resonator. "I hope to be playing those songs soon, too," he said.

I was shocked and horrified on seeing the headline today that "Dawn French moves to mansion to die". I love her as a comedian and actress and was so sad at reading the headline. Then.... read the whole report.... you be the judge.

Dawn French moves to mansion to die
Sunday Aug 12 17:50 AEST

British comedy actress Dawn French is preparing to move to a restored mansion by the seaside because she fears she could die soon.

The 49-year-old star of TV hits including the Vicar of Dibley and French & Saunders has not been diagnosed with any illness but strongly believes she will die before she reaches 50.

"I've never thought I'd live to be very old," she told The Sunday Times.

"I've always felt that.

"I'm not ill. I'm very fit, in fact ... I don't feel gloomy about it.

"I'm resigned to it. I don't know why I feel so sure.

"I said it to my brother when I was about six."

French and her husband Lenny Henry have bought a STG2.3 million ($A5.5 million) 40-room stone mansion in the southern English county of Cornwall.

They have a 15-year-old daughter, Billie.

French has begun writing a book in the form of letters to her close relatives.

She said she hoped she would die "slowly and nicely in great surroundings with my family".

"I've told Len ever since I've known him, I don't think I'll be around for a long time.

"What's weird is I'm quite a logical person and there's not much logic to this.

"There are just certain things I just know."

I'm sorry Dawnie, I think the whole idea is crackers. You can change 'destiny'. I once believed my daughter would die at around 26. I eventually told her about 8 years prior to her turning 26 and she was mindful of my 'premonition' but changed her lifestyle and habits to counteract what may of been. My daughter is now 30plus and healthy and happy. I hope Dawn and Lenny and Billie enjoy the stone mansion for many many years to come!

Didn't she attack Steve Irwin after his death too? The woman is spineless.

Greer in tirade against 'devious moron' Diana: report

Australian academic Germaine Greer has launched a verbal attack on the late princess Diana in the run-up to the 10th anniversary of her death, a British newspaper reported.

"I have come to the conclusion that she was a devious moron," Ms Greer told the Edinburgh International Book Festival on Saturday, according to the Independent on Sunday.

Diana, princess of Wales, died on August 31, 1997, in a Paris car crash, aged 36. She had divorced the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, a year earlier, upon which she lost the title, Her Royal Highness (HRH).

Ms Greer severely criticised Diana during a presentation of her new book, which is about the life of William Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway.

While Ms Greer described Hathaway as Shakespeare's "angel," she used the platform to express her view that Diana was no angel at all, the weekly paper said.

"One of the things I have been puzzled by is why her whole life was such a mess," Ms Greer was reported as saying.

"She made a mess of being princess of Wales, but that is fine because the job is not do-able. It is an insane job and, in history, all but one of the princesses of Wales have come to a sticky end - stickier than hers.

"I am also interested in why she couldn't manage life after being HRH."

She went on to criticise Diana's alleged relationships with "married men."

Poor daughter. I read a book about a 15yr old who died of drug overdose, her whole family thought she'd die young. Why buy such an expensive house if you are going to die..

I'm not sure if it's true, but I once heard a story about a man who was so strongly in pursuit of God, that he went on a trek to find him, only be found dead with an astonished smile on his face.

And I've also heard that you can shut down your nervous system and basically kill yourself if you try hard enough.

Owen Wilson hospitalised: reports
Monday Aug 27 14:00 AEST

Owen Wilson is reportedly in a serious condition in a Los Angeles hospital after a suspected suicide attempt.

The Wedding Crashers star was admitted to St John's hospital in Los Angeles early this morning (AEST) after the police department responded to a medical assistance call from the fire department around midday, according to celebrity website and magazine reports.

Wilson was then transferred by ambulance to another LA hospital, the Cedars Sinai, around 9am (4pm Sunday, local time) where his condition was initially listed as "grim". He has since stabilised.

A well known Los Angeles criminal attorney and police were present at the hospital, according to reports. Wilson's two brothers were also there.

Owen's brother, Luke, was seen leaving the Cedars Sinai in a BMW with a blond friend several hours after Owen was transferred, Entertainment Tonight reported.

National Enquirer editor-in-chief David Perel told gossip website PerezHilton.com that Owen's brother Andrew "found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance".

"Both of Owen's wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.

"Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him."

Actually the fact is a lot of comedians and funny people are clinically depressed. I was not surprised when I read of his suicide attempt. Jerry Lewis was supposedly funny in his day but a truly sad angry depressed man in reality. I have, over the years read many a time where a comedian has tried to take their lives and/or suffers depression.

After reading the following story I think Rob Reiner may be another comedian who is not too stable.

Hollywood comedian pronounces his Aussie bedfellow 'bitter'
Garry Maddox
August 28, 2007

The Hollywood comic Rob Schneider writes a mean open letter. Two years ago, he took out a newspaper advertisement attacking a Los Angeles journalist who called him "a third-rate comic" for his performance in Deuce Bigalow. Last year, he took out another pledging never to work with the anti-Semitic Mel Gibson.

Now Schneider has written an open letter that accuses actor Michael Caton of bitterness over a claim that he helped plagiarise the Australian film Strange Bedfellows for the hit Adam Sandler comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Both films centre on two heterosexual men who pretend to be gay to claim a financial benefit.

Caton, who starred in Strange Bedfellows with Paul Hogan, has talked about giving Schneider a copy of the film that he must have passed on to his good friend Sandler.

"I'm going to have to get onto Rob Schneider and say, 'You owe me one, pal'," he said.

In the open letter (an advertisement on page 10 of today's Herald), Schneider writes that he was "severely disappointed" by Caton's plagiarism accusation.

"It is true you gave me a DVD copy of Strange Bedfellows but I must confess I've never watched it, as it is not on the same format as I have and it makes quite a nice drink coaster," he writes.

Schneider, who plays an Asian minister in Chuck and Larry, claims the movie is based on a true story about two firemen from Virginia in the 1970s.

"I know that you recently made an early (and deserved) exit on Dancing with the Stars, still in my wildest imagination I never could see you as one who would ever become 'bitter'," he writes to Caton. "Unfortunately, that is the conclusion that you have forced me to come to. Now Paul Hogan I can understand!"

A spokeswoman for Caton's agent said the actor was busy filming a pilot for a new Channel Seven show and would not comment until he had seen the ad.

But one of the producers of Strange Bedfellows, Shana Levine, said the filmmakers were considering legal action against the Hollywood studio behind Chuck and Larry, Universal Pictures, after expert analysis of the two scripts in the US.

"The initial results have caused us to be more confident that there has been a copyright violation," she said. "We are investigating all avenues open to us."

24 star faces jail if convicted

Kiefer Sutherland stars as one-man crime-fighting machine Jack Bauer
US actor Kiefer Sutherland could go to jail if convicted of the two drink-driving offences he was formally charged with on Friday.
The charges were for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.

The 24 star, 40, faces at least four days in jail if found guilty, said LA City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan.

Each charge carries a maximum jail sentence of six months and a $500 (£245) fine.

Emmy-award winner

He remains on probation for a drink-driving offence in 2004 that resulted in his being put into a court-ordered alcohol treatment programme.

Mr Mateljan said Sutherland would get at least four days in jail if found guilty because it would count as his second drink-driving conviction.

The actor is best-known for his Emmy-award winning role as Jack Bauer in the real-time drama, which is returning for its seventh season in the US in January next year. It averaged 13.5 million viewers earlier this year.

Last week Sutherland was number 10 on financial magazine Forbes' list of the highest-paid celebrities between June 2006 and June 2007.

It stated that he earned $22m (£10.79m); the list was topped by Oprah Winfrey with $260m (£128m).

Kiefer Sutherland pleads no contest to drink-drive
From correspondents in Los Angeles
October 10, 2007 10:42am

ACTOR Kiefer Sutherland, star of the hit television thriller 24, pleaded no contest to drink-driving overnight in a deal with prosecutors that will land him in jail for 48 days.

Sutherland, 40, whose plea in Los Angeles Superior Court was entered on his behalf by his lawyer, was arrested last month while still on probation for a 2004 drunken driving offence.

In the latest case, he was charged with two misdemeanour counts - driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit - that each carried a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $US500 ($556) fine.

He also faced up to six extra months behind bars for violating his probation.

Under the agreement with the City Attorney's Office, Sutherland pleaded no contest - the equivalent of guilty - to a single count of driving with blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

Prosecutors have recommended that he serve 30 days for that charge plus 18 days for violating his probation in the 2004 case. But the final sentence is up to a judge to decide.

Sutherland was ordered to appear December 21 for sentencing. He was not in court at the time his plea was entered, according to Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney.

The Canadian performer, the son of screen star Donald Sutherland, is best known for his role as the terrorist-fighting secret agent Jack Bauer on the hit 24, which earned him an Emmy Award as best actor last year.

Warhurst quits Triple J

ABC management have confirmed Warhurst is vacating her Sydney breakfast slot on Triple J to co-host a new show with comedian Peter Helliar.

"Myf's management seem keen to pursue a commercial radio career for Myf rather than stay with Triple J and ABC Radio," said Linda Bracken, acting head of National Networks.

"The team at Triple J are really sad to see her go.

"We have loved having her with us for 10 years and wish her all the best for the future."

Warhurst will still appear on ABC TV's music trivia show Spicks and Specks.

Lleyton Hewitt's sister flexes her muscles

October 15, 2007 09:11am

WITH typical Hewitt determination, tennis star Lleyton Hewitt's younger sister Jaslyn is flexing her muscles in her own right.

The 24-year-old last night entered her first bodybuilding competition, just six months after taking up the sport.

Jaslyn, a coach with Tennis SA, trained for up to four hours a day to prepare for last night's event, shedding 12 per cent of her body fat.

She said she was interested only in figure events and did not want to "bulk up like a she-man".

"I like the athletic feminine look," she said.

"I've always wanted to have a six pack and get as lean as I possibly could."

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,22586751-5012980,00.html

If you saw older pics of her you would be stunned. I don't particularly like her new look and her face in the pic looks like it was stuck onto that body. I think she looks like she has male 'bits' and is not feminine at all even though I do like bodies of male and female bodybuilders within reason.

Lindsay Lohan blows $8m on booze, drugs
October 15, 2007 12:00am

HOLLYWOOD wild-girl Lindsay Lohan is officially broke after blowing her fortune on drink, drugs and partying.
The wayward actress has squandered a staggering $7.75 million just in the last few months.

Cash-stricken Lindsay has been forced to sell both her plush properties - a $3.15 million apartment in LA, plus her $1.1 million New York flat.

With nowhere to stay, she has moved in with billionaire Tom Gores, executive producer on her recent film I Know Who Killed Me.

Her extravagant spending spree includes:

• A million dollars on one hotel bill
• $137,000 in rehab costs, racking up bills of $30,000, $45,000 and $62,000 for each stint.
• Thousands in legal fees after multiple drink driving convictions.
• $350,000 on luxury Mercedes and BMWs
• A million on clothes
• $70,000 on tanning and hair-styling
• Well over $500,000 on partying

A source close to the star told Britain's News of the World: "The only reason she's coming back to LA, is to earn some money fast.

"She still thinks nothing of blowing thousands of dollars on a single night of partying.

"And the amount she has wasted putting cocaine up her nose is disgusting. Even she has lost count."

I'm with you. How she managed to spend $500,000 on "partying" is beyond me.

Elton stars at Becks party
November 27, 2007 06:55am

SYDNEY'S A-list may have been starstruck but it took Elton John to break the ice at the Foxtel is Football party last night, greeting guest of honour David Beckham with a cheeky quote, "Allo Golden Balls".
The football king and queen of crocodile rock's friendly banter kicked off the fun at Cafe Sydney, where the A-list went ga-ga over the LA Galaxy superstar.

While the rest of the team were happy to take in the view, local eyes were fixed on the bronzed Beckham.

Ian Thorpe, Antonia Kidman, Collette Dinnigan with Richard Wilkins and Sydney FC co-owner Anthony La Paglia who used his star power to pull together last night's glamour grudge match against Galaxy, added to the stellar night.

But struck dumb by the occasion was the embarrassing Ajay Rochester, who literally launched herself at the sporting god.

The Biggest Loser host lived up to the TV show's title, gushing like a groupie and using her son as the excuse to manhandle the main man for an autograph. Drawing even more attention to herself - clearly considering herself more worthy of attention than Becks - she drew on a temporary tattoo that read "David Beckham Touch Me Here".

Beckham, however, proved the greatest guest of honour, happily posing for happy snaps with guests, including NRL star Matt Cooper, party princess Kate Waterhouse and radio babe Bianca Dye.

When Confidential cosied up to the man himself and noted what a good gig it was posing for pics for a living, he laughed and said: "Yeah I know, how good is this?"

Jodie Foster reveals her lesbian lover
December 07, 2007 12:00am

JODIE Foster has kind of shocked Hollywood by publicly acknowledging her same-sex lover of almost 20 years for the first time ever.

While Jodie's sexual orientation has never been a big secret, the actress has fiercely defended her privacy and has never gone public with it.

The double Oscar winner referred to her partner Cydney Bernard during a speech, after receiving an award by the Hollywood Reporter at a Power 100 breakfast earlier this week.

Jodie thanked "my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss."

I think it is hilarious that my 2nd husband was 'in love' with both Jodie Foster and Kristy McNicol, who I think is of the same persuasion as Jodie, to the point where he had a picture of Jodie in a frame on his piano. While we were married mind you! I think he may be gender confused.

Pamela Anderson files for divorce from Rick Salomon

December 17, 2007 11:00pm

THE 40-year-old former Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson has filed for divorce from her 38-year-old husband, Rick Salomon, after just two months of marriage.
Anderson cited irreconcilable differences in papers filed last Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The documents were first obtained by the celebrity Web site CelebTV.com.

Anderson and Salomon wed on October 6 in Las Vegas during a break between shows of Hans Klok's The Beauty of Magic at the Planet Hollywood resort, where Anderson was starring as a magician's assistant. The couple separated less than 10 weeks later, on December 13.

Salomon is best known for making a sex videotape with Paris Hilton, his girlfriend at the time, and was previously married to actress Shannen Doherty. Anderson was previously married to singer Kid Rock and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Associated Press reports.

TV star attempts suicide after sacking
Article from: AAP
From correspondents in London
January 09, 2008 05:51pm

ONE of the longest-serving stars on hit TV drama The Bill, Jeff Stewart, has tried to kill himself after being sacked from the show.
Stewart, who played the popular character PC Reg Hollis, slashed his wrists yesterday after being told his contract would not be renewed, The Sun newspaper reported.

The 52-year-old actor was the only original 1984 cast member left on the show, which is one of ABC TV's most popular programs.

Stewart cut his wrists in his dressing room at the south London studios where the show is filmed but then telephoned for help.

Security staff found him and called an ambulance.

The decision to sack Stewart came after he was suspended for a week from the show shortly before Christmas following a furious on-set outburst.

An unnamed source linked to the program told the newspaper that Stewart's suicide bid had been "a desperate cry for help''.

"It's extremely sad,'' the source said

"He is in hospital and is being cared for.''

The BBC and ITV are tightlipped about it so far...

Bill star Stewart out of hospital

The Bill actor Jeff Stewart, who plays PC Reg Hollis in the ITV police drama, was treated in hospital after an incident on set on Tuesday.
An ambulance was called to the studios in Merton, south-west London.

A spokeswoman for the show confirmed "an incident" took place and that Stewart is not currently in hospital. A further statement is due shortly.

Press reports said the 52-year-old star harmed himself after being told his contract would not be renewed.

Stewart has been in the show since it began in 1984.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We got a call at 5.50pm last night to an address at Deer Park Road, SW19.

"We sent an ambulance and our staff treated an adult male and took him to hospital."

Stewart, from Aberdeen, Scotland, has also had minor roles in Crossroads, Doctor Who, Hi De Hi and Minder.

An 'unsteady' Winehouse attends husband's court appearance
January 22, 2008

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has appeared unsteady on her feet as she rushed into a British court almost missing her husband's appearance.

Sporting her new bottle-blonde hairstyle, the slightly built performer blew several kisses at Blake Fielder-Civil who's facing assault and conspiracy charges.

He's pleaded not guilty at an earlier hearing to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to pub landlord James King.

Fielder-Civil also faces an allegation that he conspired with his alleged victim to pervert the course of justice.

A five-week trial is due to begin on June 2.

Amy Winehouse going into rehab
British soul singer Amy Winehouse, who this week appeared in video footage apparently showing her smoking crack cocaine, has entered a rehab clinic, her record company says.

The troubled 24-year-old, who has been dogged by frequent suggestions of drug taking in recent months, has also cancelled a scheduled performance at an awards ceremony in France this Saturday, record company Universal said today.

"After talks ... she has decided to go into rehab," the company said.

Winehouse is one of Britain's top-selling singers, winning critical and commercial success with her hit album Back to Black, which gathered six Grammy nominations in December.

One of her most famous songs is called Rehab.

David Tennant's new romance confirmed
Sunday, January 13 2008, 12:02 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

David Tennant's romance with a blonde TV assistant has been confirmed in the press today.

Bethan Britton, who works as a contracts assistant at a BBC office in Cardiff, was first linked to the Doctor Who actor in November.

"I am seeing David and am extremely happy," Bethan told The People. "He's a great guy and I love being with him. It's a serious relationship. Things are going well."

Britton added that she has been dating David for "a few months".

Tennant split from Thunderbirds actress Sophia Myles in October.

British celebrity cook Nigella Lawson says her children won't inherit a penny of her $250 million fortune when she dies.

The 48-year-old star of Nigella Express is worth an estimated $15 million, while her husband — marketing guru Charles Saatchi — is thought to be worth over $230 million.

But according to Nigella, her children won't benefit at all from the family's wealth.

"I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money," Nigella told British magazine My Weekly.

"I argue with my husband Charles because he believes that you should be able to leave money to your children. I think we'll have to agree to disagree."

Nigella has two children from her first marriage, 13-year-old Cosima and 11-year-old Bruno. Her husband Charles has one daughter, 12-year-old Phoebe.

She hasn't yet said what she plans to do with the money, although she works closely with cancer charities after losing her mother, sister and first husband to the disease.

Having had a privileged upbringing herself as the daughter of a Conservative chancellor, Nigella says she wants her children to know "that you have to work in order to earn money".

I am amazed by this woman. As a cook I cannot stand her. If I ate what she cooks and eats I would be the size of a house! How terribly sad she has this attitude about her children inheriting any money. I think her second husband has the right idea, imho. You don't need to give your children ALL your money. Make trust funds for the children so they do have to make their own way. I just hope her husband does what he wants to do and lets Nigella go on her own merry way regarding any inheritance for their respective children.

And vice versa, no doubt.

So what's she going to do with all that money? Donate it to charity? Charity begins at home, you know.

Nigella's 'logic' is a bit scewed! She is actually saying she was ruined by not earning her own money because she had a privileged upbringing. She's a goose.

What an ungrateful cow.

That privileged upbringing is what got her where she is today.

It's Silly's 10th Anniversary (since his conception) this year although he'll be turning 841 this August.

AMY WHINE-HOUSE latest. She looks whiney doesn't she, hence the misspelled last name from me

US denies Winehouse entry to perform at Grammys

February 8, 2008 - 7:56AM
Refused entry to the US ... Amy Winehouse.

Amy Winehouse's publicist says the singer will not be performing at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony because the United States has denied her entry to the country.

The Outside Organisation, which represents the troubled retro-soul sensation, said Winehouse's request for a visa had been turned down by the US Embassy in London.

"Unfortunately her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London," it said in an email statement.

"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery."

As much as I like (especially Kate) I think it is a big mistake for them to marry. Kate's Mum and partner have proven the greatest way to a long lived Hollywood relationship is not to marry. Kate has already been married once and is not that long out of the divorce, why jump back into the fire so quickly. Plus with Owen's prior drug taking and suicide attempt.... I'd be off in the other direction real fast

Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson are engaged
Article from: The Courier-Mail
Lisa Yallamas
May 11, 2008 01:30pm

LOOKS like Owen Wilson proposed to Kate Hudson on her 29th birthday last week after he finished filming Marley and Me - and she said yes.
People's Most Beautiful Person in the world (Kate Hudson), has been spotted in recent days with a large diamond ring on her left hand.

And they are reportedly planning a lavish wedding for next year.

cnnetc.blogstop reports they were seen dining out with his parents at Gloria Estefan's restaurant in Miami.

Miami is where he reportedly proposed to Hudson and the timing would have been around the time he finished shooting Marley and Me with Jennifer Aniston.

Wilson and Hudson hooked up on the set of You, Me and Dupree in 2006. But Hudson called it quits last year.

Wilson, 39, attempted suicide after she started dating comedian Dax Shepard.

Wilson allegedly took a cocktail of crystal meth and prescription medication Oxycodone, or 'hillbilly heroin', before slashing his wrists.

His brother, Luke, found him and raised the alarm.

The Wilson family barred Hudson from seeing Owen as he recuperated.

Despite fears that the episode could end his career, Wilson was a presenter at this year's Oscars and resumed his career with Marley and Me, directed by David Frankel, whose last film was The Devil Wears Prada.

Kate Hudson, Owen Wilson May 17, 2008 12:00am

HOLLYWOOD sweethearts Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have split up - less than two months after they rekindled their on-off romance in Miami.

Showbizspy says the on-again, off-again couple - who began dating in September 2006 - were last week rumoured to be engaged, after Hudson was snapped wearing a Tiffany & Co. ring both on-and-off set of her film Bride Wars, which she’s filming in Boston.
It turned out, however, the ring was a prop.

“It was a pretty bad breakup,” says a Wilson friend. “Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn’t want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him.”
Since the split, the pair have been seen letting loose.

“Owen was pretty chummy with the ladies … he was certainly doing some sweet talking,” according to an onlooker. “He looked happy to be there hanging with them.”

And Hudson, according to a source, “feels dumb thinking it was so serious.”

Sharon Stone calls China quake karma May 27, 2008 11:05am

ACTOR Sharon Stone is is strife after claiming the Chinese earthquake which claimed the lives of 80,000 people was "karma".

Stone made the not so smart statement while on the red carpet in Cannes.

She was asked if she had heard about the disaster that hit China recently, and her answer was:

"Of course I have. Well you know at first I thought I'm not happy with the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans….and I've been concerned with should we have the Olympics because they're not being nice to the Dalai Lama who's a good friend of mine.

" And then all this earthquake and stuff happened and I thought, 'Is that Karma, when you're not nice and the bad things happen to you?'"

In a gaffe of similar proportion, sex tape star Kim Kardashian was videoed making a joke about the Burmese cyclone which claimed the lives of 134,000 dead and left 2.4 million in need of aid.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashian's reality star caused another stir yesterday when she mooned the camera in a shocking new episode of her show.

The clip quickly became a huge hit with online readers, even managing to cast a shadow over the other big event of the day, NASA'S search for life on Mars.

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,23765300-5012980,00.html

Ms.Stone is just one of many celebs who put their foot in their mouths every time they open it! I don't particularly like the woman and I am sure the Dalai Lama would, as a devout Buddhist, be horrified she said that!

Kelsey Grammer has heart attack
June 3, 2008 - 6:13AM
A spokesman for Kelsey Grammer says the Frasier star is recovering in a Hawaii hospital after a mild heart attack this weekend.

Stan Rosenfield says Grammer is "resting comfortably" in an undisclosed hospital. Rosenfield says the 53-year-old actor will be released early this week.

Rosenfield says Grammer - the star of Cheers, Frasier and the recently cancelled Fox sitcom Back to You - was paddle-boarding with his wife, Camille, when he experienced symptoms.

The couple lives in Kona, on Hawaii's big island.

Rosenfield says Grammer was immediately taken to an area hospital where it was determined that he had suffered a "mild heart attack." The spokesman says he is unaware of any history of heart trouble for Grammer.

Paul Newman told friends about cancer a year ago Article from: Reuters article: Alex Dobuzinskis
June 12, 2008 09:06am

ACTOR Paul Newman told friends as far back as 18 months ago that he was battling cancer but has remained energetic and active in charity work.

Writer A.E. Hotchner, who co-founded Newman's Own food products with the actor, told Reuters that Newman, 83, was doing fine as of two weeks ago.
Asked if Newman had cancer, Hotchner said "he made it known to a lot of his friends."

Hotchner, who lives near Newman and his wife, actress Joanne Woodward, in Westport, Connecticut, said he did not know what type of cancer Newman had because "I don't believe it's any of my business and I don't want to get into it."

The widely acclaimed actor of films such as The Colour of Money and The Sting yesterday responded to a flurry of unconfirmed media reports that he was gravely ill with cancer by issuing a terse statement saying he was "doing nicely."

According to numerous reports, Newman has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing outpatient treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.

A spokeswoman for Sloan-Kettering has said she had no information about whether Newman was a patient there.

Last month, Newman stepped down as director of a stage play of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men at the Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut, citing unspecified health issues.

SUNDAY ROSE KIDMAN URBAN

Are you wondering (like me) about this babies name?
Found this explanation, from the grandfather.....

One day after the baby's birth, Antony Kidman told the Daily Telegraph Tuesday that he and his wife suggested the name, inspired by Australian artist Sidney Nolan's muse, Sunday Reed.

"There was a lady named Sunday Reed who was a prominent patron of the arts in Victoria," Kidman told the Daily Telegraph.

"I have read a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband John — she was a key mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century," he said. "The name Sunday struck me as being a nice name for a woman, so my wife and I mentioned it."

The connection could be the reason behind Oscar-winning actress Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban's keen interest in a Sidney Nolan exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales shortly before they announced the pregnancy.

The January exhibition featured a quote about birth from Nolan which was scrawled across a wall. "When you are young you are given a good view of life, because of your closeness to birth."
Urban's brother Shane told a Sunshine Coast radio station that the baby's second name is a tribute to their late grandmother Rose.

Okay for Reals Though Angelina Had Her Babies
July 13th, 2008 by Evil Beet

We were all right the first time.

Angelina Jolie did, in fact, give birth to two babies on Saturday, her doctor confirmed.

And it seems their names are actually Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.

Oh happy day!

The first photos of the little deities could be worth up to $20M.

It was actually a Seinfeld reference; George had plans to call his firstborn "7" to which Jerry responds "Seven? Yeah, I guess I could see it. Seven. Seven periods of school, seven beatings a day. Roughly seven stitches a beating, and eventually seven years to life. Yeah, you're doing that child quite a service."

So harking back to Battlestar Galactica... is the blonde 6 of 7 (originally)?

Thinking about 'Brangelina' how wonderful of them to donate that ridiculous amount of money paid to them by whoever for pics of Knox and Vivienne, to Charity. Just as it should be. Brad and Angelina do so much good in this world and in their own little world as well with their family. More power to good and generous people like them.

Jess Origliasso embroiled in porn site picture scandal
August 01, 2008 12:00am

THE secret life of The Veronicas has been exposed after raunchy pics of a girl believed to be one of the pop twins were splashed on a porn site.
In a controversial scenario reminiscent of the recent sex scandals which soiled the reputations of US teen queens Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus, steamy shots of Jess Origliasso have been posted on porn website (name of site deleted by Suzi)
Cementing her status as the wilder of the two siblings, Jess - identified by her distinctive tattoo on her bare upper back - is pictured with a suggestive expression in the sepia-toned image.
A second picture, showing a Jess lookalike in a topless pose, is also posted on the site, although a spokeswoman for The Veronicas stopped short of confirming the secondary topless shot was actually the Origliasso twin.

"The portrait photograph of the girl looking at the camera is obviously Jess but, although the photos appear to have similarities in style and setting, I'm confident that the girl in the topless photograph is not her," a Warner Music publicist told Confidential.

Doctored or not, the saucy shots were still a hit on the site, receiving more than 11,000 hits since being posted by an unknown user.

According to her publicist, the pint-sized star, 23, could not be reached for comment or final clarification on the suggestive images.

While the Origliasso twins may be small in height, they're certainly not short of drama - just a week ago Lisa Origliasso and her Neighbours' star fiance Dean Geyer made the shock decision to call off their engagement.

It is believed Lisa's ex-boyfriend, Brisbane radio DJ Ryan 'Totters' Tothill, may have caused the split after reclaiming the singer's heart.

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,24109477-5012980,00.html

Topless? Her back? Nothing more than you would see at a topless beach OMG what a beat up. PLUS no-one is even sure that is Jess Origliasso. Idiots.

Ellen DeGeneres will reportedly marry her long-time Australian lover Portia de Rossi in California this weekend.

The couple are expected to wed in an intimate ceremony with only a few close friends and family, Usmagazine.com reports.

DeGeneres, a successful comedian who now hosts a popular daytime talkshow, and 35-year-old de Rossi began dating in December 2004.

Following the California Supreme Court's ruling that same sex couple's had the "right to marry," DeGeneres announced on her show in May that she and de Rossi would marry.

"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited," DeGeneres, 50, said at the time.

"I feel like I found my perfect fit," DeGeneres said of de Rossi in an interview with the Advocate.

"She's taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I've taught her."

De Rossi was born Amanda Lee Rogers and was raised in Geelong, but adopted the name Portia de Rossi when she was 15.

After appearing in the Australian movie Sirens with Elle Macpherson, she found success in the US when she joined the cast of Ally McBeal in 1997.

She also starred in the critically acclaimed comedy Arrested Development.

I hope both Ellen and Portia will have a long and happy relationship.

Love (the user name), sometimes we don't have a clue who people are, a small picture would help. I do however know of who you are speaking and frankly I do not have an opinion either way.

Robert Wagner finally talks about Natalie Wood's death
By John Harlow in Los Angeles August 18, 2008 04:52am
http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/printstory/0,25585,24197061-7485,00.html

Robert Wagner, Natalie Wood were Brad and Ange of their day
She died as he grew jealous of co-star Christopher Walken
Wagner admits he also wanted to shoot Warren Beatty

FOR 27 years, Hollywood actor Robert Wagner has refused to discuss the night his wife and fellow film star Natalie Wood vanished from their yacht and drowned.

Now, at 78, Wagner is to break his silence in the hope of dispelling rumours that he was somehow responsible for the death of Wood, the Oscar-nominated actress he had married twice, or that she fell overboard as they partied drunkenly with another actor, Christopher Walken.

In a forthcoming autobiography, Pieces of My Heart, he admits for the first time that he was jealous of Walken, whose performances in The Deer Hunter and Pennies from Heaven had made him a rising star.

He says he felt his wife was being "emotionally unfaithful" to him on the set of Brainstorm, the film she was then shooting with Walken.

According to Wagner's account, tensions boiled over during a late dinner on the yacht, which was moored off the island of Santa Catalina, near Los Angeles, after Walken suggested that Wood should star in more films instead of caring for two young children.

Wagner lost his temper and, he admits, smashed a wine bottle on the table, prompting Wood to go below to their cabin. He says that when he put his head around the door of the cabin and saw his wife for the last time, she was fixing her hair and apparently preparing for bed.

He and Walken went up on deck to cool down. About midnight he returned to the cabin and discovered Wood was missing. Then he realised that the yacht's dinghy had gone too. He searched for Wood on the yacht, named Splendor, but in vain.

"Now he thinks that Natalie heard the dinghy banging loosely against the Splendor, went to fix it and slipped on the swim step, knocking herself unconscious, and rolled into the water, and the dinghy just floated away," said a friend familiar with Wagner's manuscript.

"There was no conspiracy, nobody walking in on something sexual, nothing absurd like that."

The coast guard found the drifting dinghy a few hours later, the inquest into her death heard. Soon after that, Wood's body was spotted floating nearby.

A coroner found that Wood, a former child star whose roles included Maria in West Side Story, had consumed seven or eight glasses of wine but was probably not drunk. He ruled she had fallen into the water and had been dragged down by her heavy clothing. She was 43.

Wagner's friend added: "He writes that he went through the inquest in a daze and after that he took to his bed for eight days in a catatonic state, blaming himself for her death. He's never entirely recovered, but how can you?"

One horrible irony of her death, revealed in the book, is that Wagner had helped his wife to overcome a childhood phobia about water. She had once told Elia Kazan, the director of her 1961 hit Splendor in the Grass, that she needed an anti-anxiety pill to step over a puddle.

Wagner persuaded her to sail by naming their yacht after that film, one of three for which she was nominated for an Oscar.

Yet Splendor in the Grass was a bittersweet memory, he now admits: during the filming his wife started an affair with co-star Warren Beatty, which destroyed their first marriage.

In the book, Wagner confesses to hanging around Beatty's house with a gun. He apparently hoped Beatty would come out on foot so that he could take a shot at him. Wagner started drinking heavily and brooding about suicide, but a friend talked him into psychoanalysis, which he credits with saving his life.

Like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie today, Wagner and Wood were regarded as Hollywood's golden couple. After a brief courtship, they married in 1957.

He was the star of a string of hit movies, including Titanic and Between Heaven and Hell. She had appeared with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause.

After Woods and Wagner divorced in 1962, she claimed his obsession with golf had ruined their relationship. However, they could not stay apart.

In 1971, they spied each other across a restaurant and, shortly afterwards, Wood ended her marriage to a British film producer, Richard Gregson. In 1972, they remarried on board their new toy, the Splendor.

Ricky Martin is the new father of twin baby boys, born by a surrogate mother.

Martin, 36, known for his hits Livin' La Vida Loca and She Bangs, became a father a few weeks ago and plans to spend the rest of the year with the babies, according to a statement by Perfect Partners.

"In recent weeks, Ricky Martin became a proud father by the birth of twin sons. The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care," the statement said.

"Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children."

No further details were released about the mother or the babies.

The singer, who has been active in children's causes through his Ricky Martin Foundation, maintains residences in New York and Miami.

Good on him. If you want children and are not partial to women then that’s the way to get your children. Bet she was paid a pretty penny for her womb. I have said it for years…. Ricky is gay. Ever seen him with a real girlfriend? Also, I adore Chris Isaak but I feel strongly he adores men. No chance for me then

Back with Azaria, Jess Origliasso not such a lesbian
By Jonathan Moran
August 31, 2008 12:00am

WHILE his bandmates feared for his life, the lead singer of Sydney indie rock band, The Follow, was living and loving in Las Vegas with The Veronicas' Jess Origliasso.

Daniel "Azaria" Byrne was snapped with Jess at a Vegas party hosted by United States celebrity guru Perez Hilton. See them here.

Speaking exclusively for the first time since disappearing more than a week ago, Byrne, 28, said he needed time to sort himself out.

Critics love, hate Jackman as Oscars host

The hiring of Hugh Jackman as Oscars host has sparked debate among US critics, with one fearing the Australian actor may be so boring that smelling salts should be handed out to the audience.

The Los Angeles Times published duelling columns - one of its critics slammed Jackman, while the other applauded the decision to go with "a classy movie and theatre star instead of a big mouth comic".

Jackman has had a rollercoaster ride in recent weeks, with mixed reviews from critics for his new film, Australia, and a disappointing North American box office opening.

But the Sydney-born actor also was honoured with People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" title, joining past winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Mel Gibson.

Jackman's hiring as host of the 81st Academy Awards at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on February 22 represents a major change for the Academy, which traditionally chooses comedians.

Last year popular political comic Jon Stewart hosted, but the US TV ratings plunged 24 per cent. About 32 million people tuned in, compared with 55.3 million a decade ago.

Time magazine columnist James Poniewozik is taking a wait-and-see approach.

"My worry about Jackman is that he means the producers plan to up the stagey musical numbers quotient - and we've all seen how well big musical theatre numbers go over on TV," Poniewozik wrote.

"That said, I'll give half a thumb up now for the Oscars trying something, anything, different."

LA Times columnist Patrick Goldstein has savaged Jackman's Australia co-star Nicole Kidman in recent weeks, declaring she is not a movie star, but he gave Jackman the thumbs up as Oscar host.

"By opting for Jackman, a classy movie and theatre star instead of a big mouth comic, [Oscar telecast producers] Laurence Mark and Bill Condon are signalling that they're trying to turn the Oscars into a party instead of the usual three-hour plus cobwebby, self-congratulatory snooze-athon," Goldstein wrote.

Goldstein's colleague, LA Times TV critic Mary McNamara, disagreed.

"Will the Oscar gift baskets include smelling salts?" she asked.

"Yes, Jackman was just named People's Sexiest Man Alive, and yes, he is Wolverine of X-Men but do we want Wolverine hosting the Oscars?

"Probably not."

Well we had to put up with the boring and talentless Chris Rock, Billy Crystal and Ellen DeGeneres, so they will just have to deal with it!

Ex-private eye to the stars gets 15 years
Posted Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:06am AEDT
Updated Tue Dec 16, 2008 2:31pm AEDT

Anthony Pellicano, once known as Hollywood's private eye to the stars, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for running a criminal enterprise involving wiretapping and bribery.

The 64-year-old former sleuth, who worked for lawyers representing Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson, was convicted of 76 charges in May after a two-month trial that exposed the seamy side of the movie industry.

Pellicano, who was brought to court in shackles and wearing a green jail jumpsuit, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by US District Judge Dale Fischer near the end of a two-hour hearing in Los Angeles.

The veteran detective and two of his co-defendants were also ordered to forfeit some $US2 million.

Pellicano, who presented himself to his high-profile clients as the ultimate problem solver, has already served time for weapons and explosives possession.

Movie stars Chris Rock and Garry Shandling, Paramount Pictures chief executive Brad Grey and former Walt Disney Co president Michael Ovitz were among a string of witnesses who testified they hired Pellicano, or were spied on by him, during disputes ranging from cheating spouses and paternity lawsuits to showbusiness contracts.

The prospect of the trial had kept Hollywood abuzz for years, but all of those testifying said they were unaware of any illegal activities by Pellicano and none was charged.

Prosecutors say Pellicano hired an associate who in June 2002 left a dead fish with a rose in its mouth and a note saying "Stop" on the shattered car windshield of Los Angeles Times investigative journalist Anita Busch.

Ms Busch's complaint to police triggered a raid on Pellicano's Hollywood office that eventually led to his trial.

Ms Busch spoke to the court during the sentencing hearing, accusing Pellicano for terrorising her elderly parents and ruining her life's work.

Boy George jailed for imprisoning escort
Posted 1 hour 41 minutes ago

Former Culture Club frontman Boy George has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after being found guilty last month of falsely imprisoning a Norwegian male escort.

Tried under his real name, George O'Dowd, the 47-year-old Briton denied the charge of false imprisonment at his London flat in April, 2007.

After his conviction on December 5, Justice David Radford had warned him that he faced a prison term.

But the length of the sentence was a surprise to lawyers who had expected a term of around three months, or even a suspended sentence.

Shocked family members and friends in a packed courtroom at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London gasped and broke down in tears after the sentence was read.

O'Dowd, his head shaved and wearing a black coat and sweater, stared ahead impassively.

"This offence is so serious that only an immediate sentence of imprisonment can be justified for it," Justice Radford said.

He said the escort, Audun Carlsen, was "shocked, degraded and traumatised" at being detained and attacked by O'Dowd and an unidentified companion, and said a guilty plea "would have been true evidence of remorse and saved your victim from ... cross-examination."

The singer had told police he invited Mr Carlsen back to his home after a cocaine-fuelled pornographic photo shoot in January, 2007, because he suspected the Norwegian of stealing pictures from his computer.

Olivia Newton-John's ex is alive
By Peta Hellard in Los Angeles

January 27, 2009 12:00am

OLIVIA Newton-John's former partner is alive and on the run after staging his own disappearance almost four years ago, according to US investigators.

A team of private investigators from Texas said they believe Patrick McDermott has been travelling along the Mexican and South American coastline since disappearing from a fishing charter in June 2005.

Lead investigator Philip Klein said he believed that the former cameraman had disappeared so that he could avoid paying debts and enable his teenage son Chance to receive a $A150,965 ($US100,000) life insurance policy.

"He's alive - there's no doubt in my mind, this guy's alive," Klein said.

"Everything was bad in this guy's life. There was nothing good.

"Maybe in his mind if he stages his death, the insurance policy will pay off all his debts and he can leave his child a gift by pretending he's dead."

McDermott, who had been in a relationship with Newton-John for nine years, was 48 when he disappeared after boarding a boat called The Freedom in California.

An official report from the US Coast Guard released in November (2008 ) concluded that McDermott, who had previously filed for bankruptcy and owed thousands of dollars in child support payments to his ex-wife, most likely drowned.

Klein, whose agency specialises in tracking down kidnap victims and missing people who do not want to be found, was hired by US current affairs program Dateline in March 2007 to investigator McDermott's disappearance.

In an episode devoted to the mystery this week, Klein revealed that his agency had set up a hi-tech trap to help locate McDermott by making a website called findpatrickmcdermott .com, which secretly showed investigators the locations of people accessing the site.

Klein said he suspected McDermott has regularly been logging on to the "spider site", with the team tracking hits from what he believed was a boat traveling along the Mexican coastline as far as South America.

"We put what we call a trap on the web site where we can tell each I-address that comes in to the web site," Klein said.

"The rule of thumb is always this - when you're running you always are looking over your shoulder and we're going to catch him looking at us.

"The most interesting hits have come directly from Cabo San Lucas (in Mexico)last place anybody saw Patrick McDermott."

Klein said he believed that Olivia Newton-John, who refused to be interviewed for the investigation, had regularly been logging on to the site to get updates on the hunt for her former partner.

"The most unusual hits we've gotten were Olivia Newton-John when she was on tour in Asia, every hotel she was registered at and staying at there were hits from that hotel on that night where she was staying," Klein said.

"So it's quite obvious to us that the Olivia Newton-John camp is following it."

Klein, who claimed to have confirmed sightings of McDermott from at least 17 witnesses across Mexico, said he was confident that his team would track down their target.

"Patrick McDermott walked off The Freedom and Patrick McDermott's running in Mexico - that simple," Klein said.

"We're close.

"He's going to make a mistake - they (people on the run) all make mistakes.

"He's going to do something and I'll be right on his tail."

Newton-John, who married Amazon herb millionaire John Easterling in June, sold her four-bedroom Malibu mansion for $A14.2 million last month.

The Grease star has moved to the upmarket Florida community of Jupiter Island where Easterling owns a three-bedroom house, which is located in an exclusive gated estate and is currently listed for sale at $A1.28 million.

Bruce Willis marries Victoria's Secret model Emma Heming
From correspondents in Los Angeles
Agence France-Presse
March 23, 2009 05:44am

BRUCE Willis has wed model Emma Heming in a Caribbean island ceremony attended by his ex-wife Demi Moore and their three children.
Moore's husband, fellow actor Ashton Kutcher, was also at the event in the Turks and Caicos islands, a spokesman for the 54-year-old Die Hard star said.

Heming, 32, is a model for the racy Victoria's Secret line of lingerie.
US television said the A-list celebrity guests included pop queen Madonna.

Moore, 46, was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000. The couple have three daughters, Rumor, 20, Scout, 17, and Tallulah Belle, 15.

After her marriage to Willis broke up she married Kutcher, 31, in 2005.

I find a person who marries someone 20 plus years their junior has a 'problem' and the whole thing is Bizarre in my opinion. My daughter is this woman's age and she would not take a second look at, let alone date-have sex with-marry someone old enough to be her Father. Men who think women who are 20 plus years younger than them are into them because they are cute and sexy are wrong... these men all have money or celebrity in one form or another. Women (sugar Mummas) have to realise they too are not gorgeous and sexy... the attraction is money and Celebrity. 54 is almost too old for me to date

Just look at Kristy Hinze's marriage that took place today to a man old enough to be her grandfather.... Oh but he is a billionaire lets not forget!

At 54 and 32 I don't agree. Both are well and truly adults and free to make their own choices. At 18 and 38 I'd be worried because, although legally an adult, the 18-year-old hasn't had enough "adult experience" in his/her life.

I stand by what I said in the above as well. Ask any 'regular' 30-35 year old if they would be interested in a man 20+ years their senior and see what they say.

I have a mental 10 year cutoff point for age differences and that comes into play after about 25-28 years of age. eg: 25 yr old with a partner 35 years old. My sister's husband is 10 years younger than she is at 50 and my ex-toy-boy was 8 years younger than me. It's one of those little foibles I have. As ingrained as my DNA, but hey, that's just me and my personal opinion.

Madonna appealing Malawi rejection
8:09a.m. 4th April 2009
| By Felix Mponda

Madonna on Friday filed a notice to appeal a failed bid to adopt a second child from Malawi, after the High Court warned that the case could open the door to trafficking in children.

Hearings on the appeal are expected to start next week after the court on Friday turned down the US pop diva's request to adopt a three-year-girl who would have become a sibling to another adopted Malawian toddler.

"I have filed a notice of appeal," her lawyer Alan Chinula told AFP.

The appeal notice was filed on Friday after Madonna, 50, was briefed about the outcome of the adoption application, Chinula said.

Madonna did not attend the earlier closed-door court hearing where Judge Esmie Chondo addressed concerns among rights groups that Malawi's courts could inadvertently expose the nation's children to the threat of human traffickers.

"I must confess that there's a gripping temptation to throw caution to the wind and grant an adoption in the hope that there will be a difference in the life of just one child," Chondo said.

"By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children, the courts by their pronouncements could actually facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals," she added.

"I must have to decline to grant the application to Madonna," Chondo said.

Normally anyone seeking to adopt in Malawi must have been resident in the country for at least 18 months - a requirement the judge called the "bedrock" of adoption petitions, but which was waived in the case of David Banda.

The recently-divorced singer and actress jetted into the southern African state on Sunday accompanied by 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and three-year-old Banda, whom she adopted in 2006 after seeing him in a Malawian orphanage.

The following day she filed her application to adopt Chifundo "Mercy" James, sparking fresh controversy over foreign adoptions. Her lawyer has insisted the law had been followed to the letter.

The judge also noted that Chifundo had been placed in one of Malawi's best orphanages, and no longer suffers the grinding poverty endured after her mother died in childbirth.

"It should be borne in mind that inter-country adoptions may not be and are not the only solution," the judge added.

Maxwell Matewere, who heads the child rights group Eye of the Child, welcomed the ruling. His group was among 85 organisations that have lobbied against international adoptions.

"This should send a message to the world that Malawi is a country with laws and procedures ... that have to be respected," he said.

"If Madonna is concerned with the plight of orphans, she must demonstrate that by investing more in projects that would care for children in their own environment."

Malawi is one of the world's poorest nations, with more than half of the population of 12 million living on less than one dollar a day. The singer has a personal fortune estimated at several hundred million dollars.

Madonna has set up a charity, Raising Malawi, which provides support for orphans and vulnerable children.

She has already built a multi-purpose community centre at Mphandula village, 50 kilometres from Lilongwe, which looks after more than 8,000 orphans from scores of villages in the area.

During her current visit, David Banda met with his biological father, who had placed him in an orphanage where Madonna first met the child.

The singer, synonymous with hits "Material Girl" and "Like A Virgin", has been in the news recently because of her divorce from British film director Guy Ritchie, with whom she has a son Rocco, now aged eight.

Her daughter Lourdes comes from another relationship.

I agree Paula. People seem to get so hung up about age difference, adults can make their own choices for all sorts of reasons. It does not have to mean there's something 'wrong' with a person

Mel Gibson's 'Russian lover Oksana Grigorieva pregnant and moving in'
AAP
April 26, 2009 07:19am

IT'S been revealed that Mel Gibson's wife finally sued for divorce after hearing his Russian lover say she's pregnant.

British newspaper The Sun says Robyn, 53, a former Adelaide dental nurse who has seven children with Gibson, ended their 28-year marriage after Oksana Grigorieva told friends she was pregnant.

She was also horrified to find the Braveheart star had moved the stunning 39-year-old and her son, 11, into one of his mansions in California.

A source told the paper that Robyn put up with the New York-born, Australian-raised Oscar winner for years but when she found out Oksana was telling friends she's pregnant it was the last straw.

The paper says Robyn wants a quickie divorce, one that isn't contested, with their assets divided later.

Robyn filed for divorce on April 13, saying they had been secretly separated since August 2006, weeks after the star's arrest for drink-driving.

The Sun says Oksana was spotted outside Gibson's mansion on Friday chatting on her mobile phone with what appeared to be a baby bump under her pink shirt.

Last month the pair were spotted frolicking on a beach in Costa Rica.

Gibson stands to lose half of his estimated $1 billion fortune in the divorce.

His spokesman refused to comment, the paper says.

Well we know Mel is as fertile as a stud bull and it may be true but I will take a wait and see attitude. BTW how can such a devout, extremist Catholic take the view that taking lovers is okay let alone while married and how can he justify his excesses when also spruiking the word of God? He's making it up as he goes along, methinks!

Chris and Jana Rawlinson spilt: Canberra home on the market for $1 million
By Chris Wilson
The Sunday Telegraph
April 26, 2009 12:01am

JANA Rawlinson has put a $1 million price tag on the chic Canberra home unit she is seeking to unload after her split with husband Chris Rawlinson.

While their separation became public only last week, The Sunday Telegraph has learned that the couple's home has been on the market for more than a month.

The upmarket three-bedroom unit - part of a new five-star complex in Barton, in the shadow of Parliament House - is being offered by LJ Hooker for more than $1 million.

Rawlinson has moved back in with her parents in Sydney, originally bringing her son, Cornelius, with her, but lately he has been staying with his father in Canberra.

Those close to the couple said the marriage could yet be reconcilable.

"They might be back together next week - that's Jana and Chris," one source said. "The fact they've been blueing - that's not a new thing.

As Rawlinson's marriage is tested, Athletics Australia is lending support to try and salvage her historic world championship defence in August.

Rawlinson has the chance to become the first Australian to win three consecutive world titles.

But she is running out of time to be fit for the world championships in Berlin, on August 15.

High performance manager for Athletics Australia, Eric Hollingsworth, has been helping Rawlinson to track down a new permanent coach. She's expected to return to the Australian Institute of Sport under a new mentor.

Rawlinson ran in only one race last year and withdrew from the Beijing Games because of injury. She has not raced this year because of a calf problem. Hollingsworth said Rawlinson would probably need to head to Europe for racing by June.

"We're not going to put Jana in the World Championships, unless she's at Jana performance level," he said.

"At the end of the day, Jana's super-talented, so the normal rules are a little different for her than
for other athletes. As long as she gets some solid training in from now on, she'll be okay."

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,28383,25387463-5013560,00.html

Can anyone tell me why couples fight, make life miserable for one another and their offspring, seem to despise one another and reconcile only to do it all over again, repeatedly?
My second marriage lasted 19+ years and we never had a 'fight' and he hated that I would not argue with him. My philosophy is... 'why fight when you know you're right?'

For anyone doubting whether the Leighton Meester sex tape that was leaked on Friday is real or not, these new Leighton Meester sex tape pictures definitely seem to point in the right direction. So far, there's been no word from Leighton's camp, so take that for what it's worth.
Check out the alleged Leighton Meester sex tape photos. If you ask me, it really does look like her. Don't worry photos are safe 4 work.

Paris Hilton was in Dubai shooting the third season of her show My New BFF (which it would seem never works out, as she is Forever searching for Best Briends) and was told by the show's producers that you are not allowed to wear a bikini in Dubai. Why they were shooting in Dubai in the first place is beyond me. Anyway, she decided to wear a bikini regardless - this after publicly stating how much she respects Middle East culture.

Oh my god I cannot even believe you wrote that. In Australia we say 'Mum' so I am guessing you are in the US or somewhere other than Australia or the United Kingdom. What you wrote is so demeaning and rude to not just J-Lo, who I think is absolutely beautiful, but women and Mother's everywhere!

Then to add to insult to injury you draw attention to 'what's her faces' nipple as well. HA! I personally have no problem with see through tops/blouses on women as long as their breasts are presentable.

I have PM'd gossiplover and asked them to NOT make new threads and to post all this kind of stuff in the relevant thread where all non-entities belong My guess is Gossiplover is from the USA and loves all this kind of stuff about people we don't know and haven't the inclination to find out who they are.

Done! I too have PMed (5 times) and e-mailed.

I mentioned in my PM to gossiplover that they may be banned if they keep insisting on making new threads about so called Celebrities

Did I say mine are enormous? What sized bra do you wear? Candy has NOT really seen my breasts. I was trying to make you jealous of her
