Kylie Minogue splits with French boyfriend: statement

LONDON (AFP) - Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has separated from her boyfriend, the French singer and actor Olivier Martinez, the couple said in a statement.

"Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple," the pair said in a joint statement published by Britain's domestic Press Association news agency.

"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable.

"The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends."

Britain's News of the World tabloid claimed last Sunday that the couple's four-year relationship was on the rocks and alleged Martinez, 41, had been unfaithful.

Minogue, 38, was forced to cancel two upcoming concerts on the British leg of her "Showgirl Homecoming" tour last month due to a respiratory tract infection.

The singer, who is back on tour following treatment for breast cancer discovered in mid-2005, also had to pull out halfway through a performance in the north-west English city of Manchester due to the flu.

Minogue spoke in glowing terms of Martinez's support for her after her diagnosis with cancer in May 2005 and how he helped her through the darkest days of her treatment.

"Olli was there all the time, helping with the practical stuff and being protective," she told British Elle magazine last November.

"I don't like to say too much in public about Olivier as he's a very private person, but I will say that he was incredible.

"He didn't hesitate in cancelling work and putting projects on hold so he could be with me. He's the most honourable man I have ever met."

Photographs taken by Martinez showing Minogue on the road to recovery after chemotherapy were published on her website.

"Kylie -- The Exhibition" is due to open at London's Victoria and Albert Museum on February 8 featuring costumes and memorabilia collected throughout her career.

It must be hard to be underweight and unable to put on a bit of weight/bulk. Daniel has the potential to fill out by the looks of him and that comes for a man somewhere between 25-30years of age.

Adendum: just read all the posts above me on this page! I think Daniel has a LOT of potential and obviously works out.   Ryan Reynolds was soooo buff in the final Blade movie and looks like he still is Whatever happened to the guy that was in 'two guys and a girl' (and a pizza place) with him? I think I saw him in something briefly recently. Ryan is like the young fellow in NYPD Blue who used to be in 'Saved by the bell'... they both grew up to be very yummy.

I'm thinking of putting up a new interpretation of Silly from time to time. The last one was an "artist's impression" drawn by Juugoolart.

The current one is a snapshot of him as he appears in the Sims. (as created by me lol, his wife Minnie was in the game too but I don't have a picture of her)

And on an unrelated note, 2007 will mark Silly's 9th anniversary. Yaay!

Why is that everybody else could see that Olli was/is a Casanova but Kylie! He can't keep it in his pants. She's as bad at picking boyfriends as Nicole Kidman.

Honestly, they should just try dating services, surely they'd find a better bloke there than the ones they choose themselves!

If they just didn't go for the famous 'pretty' boys! It goes to show what bad taste Olivier has if he hooked up with Michelle Rodriguez before Kylie let alone during his relationship with Kylie!
Rumour has it that Penelope Cruz has been 'consoling' Martinez which goes to show she too has bad taste in men but at least she gives them the boot instead of marrying them!
The huge problem with Nicole is, she chooses bad boyfriends and then she marries them
