See I observe Kylie as needy, high maintenence and difficult. She is an entertainer and chooses men who are either actors or models or similar. These men are most likely not the best 'husband' material and are used to a certain lifestyle. Could Kylie really see herself 'settled' and raising children? I've heard she wants to be a mother. Her age and her medical history may preclude her being a mother 'naturally'. There are however many other ways of becoming a parent. The ultimatum she has issued to Olivier is only going to put pressure on an already flawed relationship. Find a nice 'nobody' Kylie. Someone easy going, not a model or an actor, someone like Sandra Bullock's husband or Julia Roberts'

I have to agree with you on this one. What a tosser.... How desperate is he to attach himself to such a pathetic piece of dross?????  It is truly atrocious.... and as for those stupid scrags  cougars or kittens, they are all tarred with the same brush as far as I am concerned. YUK

It's not Mark's fault, when you consider it's the people in charge at channel 7 who say what programmes they buy and what time slots they go in! Write to Channel Seven Steve and complain to them. Inundate them with emails and letters and phone calls and get them to change the time OR better still, take the show off the air. I don't hate Mark but I think the show is lame and doesn't do him any favours. Whoever created the show should have their arms torn off and be beaten with the wet end, repeatedly.

Aussie rocker's cancer
August 12, 2007 12:15am

AUSTRALIAN rock legend Jim Keays has been diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow.

The former frontman of iconic Adelaide band The Masters Apprentices fell ill last month while on holiday in England, where doctors found his kidneys had failed.

He was immediately placed on dialysis and made arrangements to come home.

Myeloma often manifests itself as kidney disease and British doctors quickly identified the source of his illness.

"It's treatable and it often goes into remission," said an upbeat Keays from his Glen Iris home.

"I started chemotherapy last week and I am on dialysis, and I am confident both will work.

"My kidneys are running on about 5 per cent, but they have improved a little already."

Keays's family – wife, Karin, and daughters Holly, 11, and Bonnie, 5 – are rallying around the 60-year-old.

"The doctors are quietly confident that Jim's kidney function will improve," Karin said. "Jim has such strength of will that I have no doubt he'll make it happen."

The Keays' time in the UK hospital coincided with last month's extraordinary floods in England.

"For a few days, I was driving through floodwaters several times a day to get to Jim in the hospital, then back with the girls to our accommodation in the country," Karin said.

"There were so many people, people who we hadn't met before, who were ready to help in any way they could, even when their own country was in a state of disaster. It was really heart-warming."

As one-third of Cotton Keays & Morris – the band in which he plays with fellow veterans Russell Morris and Darryl Cotton – Keays has a busy book for the rest of the year.

"We have had to drop a few gigs, but I hope to be back in business and playing with the boys next month," he said. "I've had good health all my life. Until this I had never been to hospital and I plan to get out of this one quick smart."

Masters' hits included Undecided, Elevator Driver, 5.10 Man, Turn Up Your Radio and Because I Love You. All were hits both here and in the UK.

Keays only recently completed his latest solo album, Resonator. "I hope to be playing those songs soon, too," he said.

I was shocked and horrified on seeing the headline today that  "Dawn French moves to mansion to die". I love her as a comedian and actress and was so sad at reading the headline. Then.... read the whole report.... you be the judge.

Dawn French moves to mansion to die
Sunday Aug 12 17:50 AEST

British comedy actress Dawn French is preparing to move to a restored mansion by the seaside because she fears she could die soon.

The 49-year-old star of TV hits including the Vicar of Dibley and French & Saunders has not been diagnosed with any illness but strongly believes she will die before she reaches 50.

"I've never thought I'd live to be very old," she told The Sunday Times.

"I've always felt that.

"I'm not ill. I'm very fit, in fact ... I don't feel gloomy about it.

"I'm resigned to it. I don't know why I feel so sure.

"I said it to my brother when I was about six."

French and her husband Lenny Henry have bought a STG2.3 million ($A5.5 million) 40-room stone mansion in the southern English county of Cornwall.

They have a 15-year-old daughter, Billie.

French has begun writing a book in the form of letters to her close relatives.

She said she hoped she would die "slowly and nicely in great surroundings with my family".

"I've told Len ever since I've known him, I don't think I'll be around for a long time.

"What's weird is I'm quite a logical person and there's not much logic to this.

"There are just certain things I just know."

I'm sorry Dawnie, I think the whole idea is crackers. You can change 'destiny'. I once believed my daughter would die at around 26. I eventually told her about 8 years prior to her turning 26 and she was mindful of my 'premonition' but changed her lifestyle and habits to counteract what may of been. My daughter is now 30plus and healthy and happy. I hope Dawn and Lenny and Billie enjoy the stone mansion for many many years to come!

What an idiot. I think there is a possibility that she WILL die soon, but I reckon she will only die because she is mentally convinced that she will.

These are my friend Mark's words, typed to me on or about January 2001:

Quoted Text
"I've always thought I'll die young."

"I've always known that.

"I'm not sick.  I'm not scared.  I just know it will happen."

"I told Mum on my 25th birthday I didn't think I'd see my 35th."

Didn't she attack Steve Irwin after his death too?  The woman is spineless.

Greer in tirade against 'devious moron' Diana: report

Australian academic Germaine Greer has launched a verbal attack on the late princess Diana in the run-up to the 10th anniversary of her death, a British newspaper reported.

"I have come to the conclusion that she was a devious moron," Ms Greer told the Edinburgh International Book Festival on Saturday, according to the Independent on Sunday.

Diana, princess of Wales, died on August 31, 1997, in a Paris car crash, aged 36. She had divorced the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, a year earlier, upon which she lost the title, Her Royal Highness (HRH).

Ms Greer severely criticised Diana during a presentation of her new book, which is about the life of William Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway.

While Ms Greer described Hathaway as Shakespeare's "angel," she used the platform to express her view that Diana was no angel at all, the weekly paper said.

"One of the things I have been puzzled by is why her whole life was such a mess," Ms Greer was reported as saying.

"She made a mess of being princess of Wales, but that is fine because the job is not do-able. It is an insane job and, in history, all but one of the princesses of Wales have come to a sticky end - stickier than hers.

"I am also interested in why she couldn't manage life after being HRH."

She went on to criticise Diana's alleged relationships with "married men."

She's a fossil put up on display by the feminist movement, and it's about time somebody took her down.
