Also.... Amsterdam, how about an apology to me regarding your very rude post which attempted to humiliate me, but failed to do so. Your posts always have an eliment of anger in them and also self-rightiousness and frankly I read the first two sentences of your rant and moved on. I thank everyone who came to the defense of my point of view, in particular my Muslim friend Sillygostly. Mohammad actually married a wealthy woman who was much older than himself first, then when she died a good many years later he chose to marry others. Until then he had only the one wife. You do some research there Amsterdam but do not dare to denigrate someone who has already done some research themselves just because it does not line up with your beliefs.
before making any other comments about the shootings in the states please read this article! it may shed light on the subject! /When i watched the killers statements on his death video on the evening news last night i thought it sounded a little fishy....but it was edited into soundbytes so as not to offend others.....so i wasnt quite positive about his meanings....but now it seems to make a little more sense.
What's your point? I don't understand what you are trying to get at with this.
Apart from there being some historical errors in the article (he comes at it purely from the biblical side which has been proven to be inaccurate in so many aspects) he is the only one to so far come out with the link of the shooter to Islam. Until it is official I don't know how there can be any credence in some obscure article in an Assyrian news piece that has its own agenda.
------------- As an aside that article also illustrates that according to the bible the founder of Judaism and thus Christianity, Abraham, openly had a concubine. That would be frowned upon today.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

This article says nothing whatsoever! Seems like you're trying to draw a very long bow and link the massacre to Islam. Sounds like Cho jumped on the Islam bandwagon because it is the current anti-western anarchist's weapon of choice at the moment.
The Columbine kids weren't Muslim converts/wannabe's. Cho was just a disillusioned so and so who 'fell out' with (western) society and gave himself a cause by tying himself to Islam.
I wonder what Cho's 'story behind the story' is. What made him a sociopath? We know the Columbine kids were abused by peers for many years. Was Cho eluding to the fact that his father or someone else had abused him with his play about a sexually abused boy?
I hope the following comes out of this:
1. People stop bullying others and people reach out to those that are being bullied or left out (bullying can often be circumvented by good parenting), but since this isn't going to happen ... 2. Authorities take complaints seriously of kids who are 'not quite right', teachers need to intervene if they sense someone is being bullied 3. Parents pay closer to attention to their children, this kid was so anti-social his parents should have known he was in trouble (although sometimes it can be hard to tell with teenagers)
Spot on Paula. Until the official story comes out it's all just conspiracy.
Don't forget the Oklahoma bomber X452. He was just a redneck peeved off at government. You are also right that many nutjobs just jump on the extremist Muslim bandwagon at the last moment as a twisted way to justify what they are planning. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
What about those who jump onto Islam to get out of trouble or jail, then immediately covert back to Christianity on release? Seems to me in many cases that Islam is just a convenient whipping post for all the ills of the world at the moment so many in the West (and Christianity) can overlook their own not so pristine dealings and transgressions.

AP - Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-hui was diagnosed with autism after the family emigrated to the United States, a relative in South Korea said.
"From the beginning, he wouldn't answer me," Kim Yang-soon, Cho's great aunt, said in an interview with Associated Press Television News.
He "didn't talk. Normally sons and mothers talk. There was none of that for them. He was very cold."
"When they went to the United States, they told them it was autism," said Kim, 85, adding that the family had constant worries about Cho.
The uncle gave a similar account, but said there were no early indications that the South Korean student who killed 32 people and himself at Virginia Tech University in the US had serious problems. The uncle asked to be identified only by his last name, Kim.
Cho "didn't talk much when he was young. He was very quiet, but he didn't display any peculiarities to suggest he may have problems," Kim said by telephone.
"We were concerned about him being too quiet and encouraged him to talk more."
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that encompasses a broad range of symptoms frequently including impaired social interaction and communication, as well as obsessive interests and behaviour.
It remains a topic of heated debate in the scientific community, where little is understood about its cause.
Cho left South Korea with his family in 1992 to seek a better life in the United States. Since the shooting, the US government has been providing protection for Cho's parents, South Korea's ambassador to Washington said.
"We've confirmed that the parents are being safely protected by US investigative authorities," Ambassador Lee Tae-sik told MBC Radio.
Lee said US authorities had declined to reveal where the parents were "because they move from place to place everyday."
Kim, the uncle, said the family never visited their homeland, and that he did not recognise his nephew when his picture appeared on television as the culprit in the deadliest shooting rampage in US history.
"I am devastated," Kim said between heavy sighs.
"I don't know what I can tell the victims' families and the US citizens. I sincerely apologise ... as a family member."
In South Korea, Cho's parents ran a small book store in Seoul, Kim said. The family lived in a two-room apartment no larger than 40 square metres.
"They had trouble making ends meet in Korea. The book store they had didn't turn much profit," Kim said.
He said his sister - Cho's mother - occasionally called around holidays, but never mentioned having any problems with her son.
"She said the children were studying well. She didn't seem worried about her children at all," Kim said.
"She just talked about how hard she had to work to make a living, to support the children."
Kim said he had been unable to reach Cho's mother since Monday's massacre.
She and her husband now work at a dry cleaners in suburban Washington.

firstly let me say that abraham was a offensive language removedfor having a concubine...what kind of stone age crap is that...I dont agree with any cave man mystism....so lets get that clear right away....it doesnt matter to me if your hindu, moslem,christian,buddist....whatever....if you believe in a load of tripe then fine, but if you believe in logic you cant justify most of it.
so i looked around to find references to the ismail ax which was on his arm and there were too many thousands for me to sort through, since loads of blogs have caught on to the statements in the press yesterday. Today however most major networks are cutting those references out....why?....because they dont want to be accused of belittling islamists. ok fine. so here are a few links that all agree that this fellow (who liked criptic stuff) had ismail ax on his arm. oh and "there's a well-known taboo in Korean culture against writing a person's name in red — color of death sort of thing."
now let me tell you that chos daddy lived and worked in saudi arabia before moving to the usa
and on a side not his sister works for the americans in iraq doing something or other in distribution of money for aid projects
so its not like he had no knowledge of islam Since he even wrote plays and stories including islamic themes (he was an english major after all)
but all that aside......He was a frigging sociopath So what? his crimes are in some mesure excusable since he was mentally defective? Even autistic? Im so sick of people not being willing to take resposibilty for their actions.
and it turns out that it may not have been lawfull for him to buy guns at all...
"Virginia State Police said consequently Cho was not prohibited from buying a gun, according to state laws, because he was never committed to a mental health facility.
But The Brady Center suggested the 2005 court judgment should have blocked Cho from ever owning a gun, because federal law prohibits the selling a gun to anyone who has been adjudicated "mental defective" or ever involuntary committed to a mental institution.
"Somebody in the Virginia apparatus made a mistake in interpreting federal law and with tragic consequences," said Brady’s legal director, Dennis Henigan.
The FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) manual states in all caps: "ONCE A PERSON IS DISQUALIFIED ... HE/SHE IS PROHIBITED FOR LIFE!"
The FBI seemed to defend the Virginia Thursday describing it as "the leading state in reporting mental defective entries for the NICS index," having submitted more than 80,000 mental health records since the database's launch in 1998. Currently only 22 states submit mental health records to NICS.
Legislation being prepared by New York Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy would require all states to track individuals with mental adjudication records and disqualify them from owning guns. McCarthy's husband was killed and her son seriously wounded in a mass shooting on a Long Island commuter train."

let me say that my intention was not to humiliate you by whatever you may have found offensive in my post... I dont believe the world is flat! boo hoo, if you think thats offensive... but I believe in logic, not ancient mystism.....does that make me self righteous? And as for anger YES im angry, angry that no one takes responsibility anymore for what they say or do....they just make excuses....And as for it being directed at moslems? I would be more then happy to direct logical arguements at any nonsence that is broadly taught today...but to think that many people today actually believe the same as what they did 1000 years ago is a bit much for me to swallow...But hey if it was mayan suicide bombers that we were dealing with spreading their hate and blood lust from central america to the rest of the world, well then Id have something to say about them too....only they are all dead.... so once again suzi i wasnt trying to belittle you other then to simply state that "I" do not believe any "prophet" of "God" the greatest,PBUM,etc could fit the mold of a szitso/pedo/killer. And we can all say but this was long ago....Does that somehow make it right? So what if it was long ago... a 54 year old man having sex with a 9 year old was and is wrong! then and now!
What about those who jump onto Islam to get out of trouble or jail, then immediately covert back to Christianity on release?
Uh? I'll tell you what they can expect! A FATWA lol
And all that coming from people living in the stone age
Here read for yourself: (2:191), and (9:123), and (9:5), and (8:65 ), and (25:52), and (66:9) and (47:4) and (9:29) Please, please read the koran.
Bukhari 009.083.017 Mohamed said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims."
I dont think however much you dont like the hillsong people, that you could say they would advocate beheading a member who went and joined another religion!!!
Amsterdam, I recommend you take your argument regarding 'mysticism' as you call it to the following thread named 'I don't believe in religion and here's why!' http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/eblah/m-1173994138/ Your views will be better served on that thread as long as you do not make it a personal argument against someone/anyone who has opposing views to yourself.
But the bible also talks of killing and death along with a vengeful god.
You are trying to draw a long straw amsterdam in belittling Muslims. It's in nearly every sentence you write like this;

And all that coming from people living in the stone age
In fact there are more non-Muslims living in the stone age than Muslims and so many Muslims who are living contemporary lives, but you just zero in on those aspects that justify your very narrow minded point of view. Also let us not forget who put the Arabs in this position, the West and in early times Christianity in the name of the Crusades. Also let us not forget that throughout history more people have died and killed because of the name Jesus Christ than any other.
Currently the Christian sects like Hillsong, Exclusive Brethren (now there is a scary bunch who directly interfered in NZ elections, luckily they failed) and all the others don't have to resort to violence as they do it covertly through manipulation of the world's wealth, power and media, but what they do is just as wrong. If Christians were the marginalised people of the world and nothing else to fight with because all the power was held by non-Christians they would fight back with any means possible (and as history has proved they have, by any definition many Christian groups that fought for their religion would today be classed as terrorists).

Mystery of Kaz II's missing crew Yuko Narushima April 20, 2007
They got on board and said the engine was running, the computers were running, there was a laptop set up on the table which was running, the radio was working, the GPS was working and there was food and utensils set on the table ready to eat, but no sign of the crew
An unmanned yacht found drifting off the north Queensland coast had computers running and even food on a table ready to eat - but no crew, puzzled emergency services say.
Rescuers who boarded the yacht this morning noted that three life jackets and the emergency beacon were still on board, but there was no sign of the yacht's life boat.
A massive search and rescue operation is now underway for three men missing from the 12-metre catamaran called Kaz II, which left Airlie Beach in northern Queensland on Sunday.
It was spotted adrift on Wednesday.
Police say the missing men are from Western Australia, and aged 56, 63 and 69. Two of the men are related and the other is a friend.
They planned to take the 10-metre catamaran Kaz II, bought at Airlie Beach, back to Western Australia, first travelling north.
The air and sea search continues spanning the Whitsundays in the south to Davies Reef and Cape Bowling Green, near Ayr, police said.
Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) spokesman Jon Hall said crews were puzzled by what they found because "everything appeared normal".
"It looked like the boat had been recently abandoned. The engine was still running in neutral (but) one of the sails had been damaged," Mr Hall said.
"There was a laptop computer on board and running with power, the computers on board were running, all of their clothing was still there.
"The table was actually set for a meal with food and cutlery in place.
"The radio was working, the GPS was working and things below deck were normal except for the absence of crew."
The GPS will be analysed for clues to see if the boat's passage can be tracked backwards over the previous five days to help the search.
Search and rescue teams say sailing conditions when the men set off were rough.
"The wind was at 30 knots and the waves were rising,'' said a spokesman for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. "I wouldn't have gone out.''
Kaz II was first spotted floating near the outer Great Barrier Reef, 80 nautical miles northeast of Townsville, the boat's intended destination.
AMSA is coordinating the search for the seamen by air.
Ten planes and two Queensland emergency service helicoptors are searching an area spanning 700 nautical square miles along the outer Great Barrier Reef, where AMSA said it is "most probable'' the boat became distressed.
The search will be widened to 4300 square nautical miles, if today's search is unsuccessful, AMSA said.
A military Blackhawk helicopter may join the air search later today.
Police said four volunteer rescue boats are scanning the area by sea.
Townsville water police will tow the vessel back today.
"It's very unusual,'' a Queensland Police spokeswoman said. "Until we get the boat back to Townsville and get our investigators on board, it's a bit of a mystery'' she said.
While AMSA was hopeful the man was still alive, the spokesman said: "The size and intesity of the search tells you that the task is now urgent.
"It's a large search area but the boat is not drifting a long way from the coast. It seems to be going up and down the coast with the tides.''
Do we have a Bermuda Triangle of our own off the North Coast of Queensland?
ACT police chief found dead April 20, 2007 - 10:52PM
The ACT's chief of police has been found dead in her Queensland holiday apartment.
Australian Federal Police (AFP) Assistant Commissioner Audrey Fagan, 44, was holidaying in Queensland when she was found dead late today, an AFP statement said.
The statement gave no cause of death but said Queensland police were investigating and were not treating the death as suspicious.
Tributes for Ms Fagan quickly began to flow tonight with AFP Commissioner Mick Keelty saying she was a greatly respected figure within ACT policing and the wider AFP, of which she had been a member for 26 years.
"We have today lost one of our most respected and thoughtful members of the AFP," he said in a statement tonight.
Car crashes into restaurant April 20, 2007 12:00am OUTDOOR diners at a Sunshine Coast restaurant have had a lucky escape when a ute crashed into concrete bollards on the footpath. The 54 year old driver was not so lucky, suffering serious head injuries in the crash at Mooloolaba about 10pm last night.
The woman is now in a serious but stable condition in Nambour hospital.
Police said the crash could have been a lot worse if it had happened earlier in the night, or it had been a Friday or Saturday night.
A police spokesman said blood had been taken from the woman for drug and alcohol testing, and investigations into the crash were continuing.
The latest on this story is the woman had hired the ute earlier that day and was intentionally speeding down the hill toward the alfresco dining areas along the Mooloolaba Esplanade. She had been reported 2 days earlier as missing from Caboolture around 40-50 minutes south of where she crashed!
Rangers kill dingo Robyn Ironside April 20, 2007 12:00am
THE dingo that attacked a four-year-old girl at Eurong on Fraser Island this week, yesterday became the 77th dog killed by rangers in the past six years. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service rangers had been searching for the dog since Tuesday afternoon's attack, in which the little girl was nipped on her back, bottom and thigh.
Regional director Terry Harper said yesterday the dingo was trapped near the Eurong township and "humanely destroyed".
"Dingo rangers were able to accurately identify the animal responsible for the attack from information provided by the child's parents and its behaviour patterns. The dingo was known to QPWS and had a colour-coded tag on its ear," Mr Harper said.
Under the Fraser Island dingo management strategy, any dingo that attacks or threatens a person is destroyed.
The strategy was implemented after the death of nine-year-old Clinton Gage, who was mauled by a dingo in April, 2001.
let me say that my intention was not to humiliate you by whatever you may have found offensive in my post... I dont believe the world is flat! boo hoo, if you think thats offensive...
I don't believe you, because if you were genuine, you'd not have typed the bit I have highlighted in bold. You're entitled to your opinion, you're not entitled to belittle and mock people that don't agree with you. Not on this forum anyway.
Oh, and yes your comments would be well placed in the section Suzi mentioned. I can move them over there if you want.
Isn't that something about the Kaz II. The Marie Celeste all over again but unlike the Marie Celeste there was rough weather the night and day before and the sail was torn out. But what would cause the entire crew to go in one hit is a mystery.
