Heh, so I'm nosy.    If you have a combination of your own and step-children, please count all together.

I have 4 step-children, 32 male, 29 female and 27 male and female.

I have 2 adult children who I gave birth to 'naturally'. One was 10lb/4.5kg and the other 9.2lb/4.18kg. Each of my children are from 2 different husbands and the SAME mother (me) which makes them half brother and sister. My first ex husband has 3 children by his second wife which means my daughter has 3 half brothers and one half sister in total. My son has only one half sister who he was raised from birth with and more recently 2 step-sisters from his father's second marriage! Confused yet? I have no step children. The half sister and brothers are considered full brothers and sister by my respective children. Can someone clarify something for me please? If a step-father and natural mother divorce where does that leave the step-daughter as far as relationship with the now ex-step-father? Is the ex no longer a step parent to that particular offspring? I divorced my daughter's stepfather 2 years ago. She was 27 at the time. Does this mean he is no longer her step father because he is no longer my husband? She does not consider him her step father anymore, he was a pretty detached one at any rate. Give me your ideas on this please.

Technically he isn't, but it's up to her and how she feels.

My sister and her husband divorced some years ago, but I still call and consider him my brother-in-law, even though he's technically not.

Thanks Giz! That is what I deduced but wasn't really sure.
Funny thing was when I met my ex's new wife the one and only time in June, I asked her what she thought of my daughter, who she had met many times and who was invited to the party where (my daughter's ex-step-father and her) announced their engagement which my ex's only child and son was NOT invited to. Her reaction was one of absolute bewilderment and she was stumped. Because her new husband considered my daughter HIS and had spent more time with my daughter than our son when they came north to visit, she forgot I was actually my daughter's mother and my daughter was NO blood relation to her new husband When I told my daughter of the reaction or lack thereof, she was not a happy 'girl'.

My wife is just over halfway through her pregnancy and the baby is a girl and she's really smart and looks like me.
Unfortunately, and my wife hates it when I'm just blunt as hell like this but she's not here and I'm very tired and don't have the energy to be diplomatic.. unfortunately it isn't here until it is here and something still could happen even though it isn't likely.  It's a very sad thought.. she already has a name and everything (and looks like me).  It really is not nice to consider things like that.  Why did I bring it up?  I feel depressed now.

Edit: Sorry for the double post... it's not even too late to edit, but as I said, I'm tired... I know what you're thinking, that if I'm that tired that I wouldn't be typing but you're wrong.  typing comes naturally even if I can't do it correctly all the time but leaving the keyboard for the mouse to select open up tabs and copy and paste and post and switch around... that's difficult.

I have a 'pigeon pair'.  That's what my nanna used to call a boy and a girl.  First a girl (7 pounds 6 1/2 oz) and then a boy (6 pound 3 1/2 oz).  My daughter is 5 and my son is 6 months old.
