Gee, I hopped on to the CricInfo website today and Cricket Australia is considering Aussie and English umpires to umpire the Ashes Series, this summer (see http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/australia/content/current/story/257846.html)

Umpires, the Cricket Australia board are eye-ing on Aussie umpires, Simon Taufel, Daryl Harper, controversial umpire Darrell Hair and English umpire Mark Benson !!

Well I don't think England would like to see 2 Aussie umpires in every test in this Ashes series, umpiring. Gee, you can imagine they can accuse us Aussies of being biased or vice-versa, if Cricket Australia would like to see 2 top English umpires to umpire every test this summer. The Aussie cricket fans, would'nt like to see that happening !!

I think, Steve Bucknor, Aleem Dar and Rudi Koertzen should umpire this summer's Ashes Series. Them 3 umpires are all pretty good.

Having Aussie and English umpires, umpiring this summer, would be unfair for cricket fans. The fans will think, of umpires being biased.

They will think that with a Vulcan umpire if their team doesn't get the "right" decision.  These men are professionals and I am sure they will do a fair job, no matter where they are from.

Man, the English are getting thumped.  I'll have to hide when in England next month.

First test: 6 for 126

yeah , i realise it's still only the first series ...but yeah - this is real embarrassing for the poms ( Eng'er'land ) , right now !

i'm not even sure i want to go to the MCG on boxing day now , (i have 4 tickets )  ....

as much as i thought we could shove it up them...and deservably so going by some of their big mouth critics & dillusional home grown English Fans who boasted like they've done it 20 years straight (From last years cockyness & comments) & of course mr Di*khead himself .....Botham ( ohhh Oz are too old )

but i do believe 'Eng'er'land are more capable of doing better than this.
but its just not happening .
i don't know whats going on ?

all of a sudden, im feeling Eng'er'lands pain and and cringing everytime something bad happens to em'
if you still got your original accent though Paula, i'd be trying hard with the aussie accent ...you should'nt hear a word then ( unless its ya family of course )     lmao

After 41 years (I was almost 6 when we emigrated) I still have my accent (so I am told).  Gimme 3 days and I'll cultivate it to fit in

England are doing better now though.  5 for 279 at last count.  I much prefer a decent competition to a thrashing.

I hope poor Harmison smashes the aussies tommorow. I'm sick and tired of the media making a big deal out of him.

I agree!

Did you hear about how poor Shane Warne was struggling with the "heat" here in Adelaide?  In one word...WUSS!

3 for 388...Collingwood 157 off 330, Pietersen 120 off 212.  Heck, even Shane Warne has 100 (0/126).

I reckon it will go for 5 days.

What a finish to a great test!  Even though I despise Shane Warne and would rather he didn't get a single wicket, he bowled well.  And what about Hussey?  What a great 1/2 century!  I thought it was terrific the way the team did a lap of honour after the last ball.  A friend of mine had been there the whole 5 days and said it was totally unexpected but that the crowd really appreciated the gesture.

It was one of the greatest victories in test matches ever...........I hope the match here in Perth is half as good.
