Shakira has now been in the number one position on the Aria charts for nine weeks. Do you think she deserves to be in this position?

I personally don't think she does, Hips Don't Lie is a great song, but I really did not think it was No.1 material. Rihanna's SOS on the other hand, I believe deserved its 8 week reign at the top, and believe her latest, Unfaithful,' should be in Shakira's spot, or any of the other songs in the top ten this week.

When Shakira brought out Laundry Service a few years ago, I loved her, but none of her recent stuff has been that different from anything else she has made in the past.

I like the song...everytime I hear it I wanna get up a dance...

'Underneath your clothes' is an alright song aswell from her last album...

Not a fan - sorry don't find her music appealing at all - maybe I'm getting too old   but then again I haven't seen her live and thats where I judge my music from.

Eh, it ain't a great song. Most of the stuff in the charts isn't that good though.

Yeah...I think so. But they dont include ALL the cd shops in Australia, only the major ones. eg. Sanity

Its also slightly inaccurate because a lot of people download music now, and I think they have a separate chart for that.

The Aria charts don't include any Sanity/Virgin stores anymore, because they decided to make there own chart to compete (why would you compete over a chart?), there is no accurate chart anymore, but Aria is the closest we're ever going to get now.

Ugh, such a stupid name for an appropriately stupid song. Shakira has the voice of a dysfunctional trumpet. Frankly, not a single song on the ARIA charts has deserved the number 1 spot this past year(s).

Personally I think its a rather pointless question - if she sells more singles than any other artist than of course she deserves to be Number 1, no matter how bad the song is. The problem nowdays is that the public are buying less singles/albums than ever before - so in the past to get a number 1 single you will would have to have sold around 10 to 15,000 singles a week, you can do it today selling less than 3000.

Well she hasn't been no.1 for over a week now, so i guess the poll is now pointless. Now Justin Timberlake has taken position for 2 weeks so far. Will he last another 6 or 7 weeks? I think this year may go down as one having the least amount of no1 songs?

gaawd , think i heard this for first time on the weekend ( via video Clip ) ..on those pathetic so called 'music' programs on Sat Morning on tv.

this of course , instantly reminded me as too why ..on any Sat Morning - i should just be doing any kind house work what so ever ... the whole lot was crap, it really was let alone hers - and those wobbling thighs' ...c'mon over it already

i think the charts are chosen by 2 ways ...whats seems to be most recent is the biggest influence i'd say - it would have to be surely - be it crap or half decent !
if these came out 20.... actually even 10 years ago , ya would'nt even find it in the top 200...in fact, i think it would've even end up in the 'alternative wierd arse' charts that never deserved a mention anyway .
