I think everyone out there should stop bullying poor Brits. She is trying her best in life and it is not fair that everyone is using her as a punchbag for fun. Imagine if you were the punchbag.

She's not the only celebrity that cops a lot of crap...

But yeah, I think enough is enough now.

omg? you made a thread for this!

Look.. I don’t dislike the girl but she is a CELEBRITY! She’s always wanted to be one AND with the good comes the bad... the press only report on her actions because she makes so many bad choices. To the public this is slight entertainment! she is an entertainer ...whom years ago loved the media hounding her and still does but ONLY when she can choose the time of hounding and she can't pick and choose. That’s all she’s whinging about. When she’s all made up… walking beautifully down the road, with a perfect white smile, baby in arm – she loves them. When she’s wearing a tacky dress that have straps that continue to fall off her shoulder…bra showing.. munching on cheetos .. trying to keep a hold of her chubby bubby and falls on her own tacky wedge shoe – she cries that they are intrusive. The girls gotta grow up and gain some common sense… gain knowledge on the industry she wants to remain apart of. Nobody asked her to be or forced her to be a celebrity and you need to remember that – she’s a celebrity not your next-door neighbour that never saw it coming. She chose this … she chose him (k-fed)… she chose her outfits.. she chose how to carry Shaun.. she chose how to place him into the car… she chose how to ‘safely’ seat him on her lap speeding down a California free-way… she chose to do a tearful interview about wanting privacy and the next week doing a nude photo shoot.

Poor brits nothing! Seriously... a thread for this??

And you've chose to give a rats a**, chose to carry on and on and on and on and on and on and on about her... blah blah blah... and the thread wasn't even about you to begin with.

It's already obvious that you can go on and on and on.

Like I said, I don't think it's the subject matter, but the presence of the subject itslef that you're on about.  Why deprive someone else of their "lurveit given" right to do the same?

What "poor brit crap" on the website do you mean though?  The 5 posts weighed against your 50 plus?  Is that what's bothering you?

Actually, celebrities are people too, they are not another species. The fact that they provide good entertainment and help people through bad times is good enough - they do not become celebrities to cop crap, and if we accept having people to have all this poured over them, this attitude can extend into other areas of life pretty quickly.

I actually believe the 'tearful interview' was a brave gesture! (In fact, I gave her 10 points for it on my website). People should realize which actions are brave and useful instead of those which just look like they are but are toxic.

I was nowhere referring to eblah posts but in general by her die hard fans. Meandean – you come off as so rude way to often. It’s obvious you have no interest in the celebrity’s category but yet, insist on posting in here. All I seem to see of your posts are ridiculous remarks that come off as rude and arrogant. I enjoy posting goss in this category for other eblah members to go ‘huh.. interesting’ and for you to make that into an attack - pisses me off. I mean at least it’s better than your contribution to a great section on eblah. I have my opinion on Britney as do other posters and when you make a title as ‘stop bullying Britney spears’ you’re heading for some kind opinion clashes.

Quoted from MeanDean
Do you write those captions, scan those photos, or does your obsession just involve finding pictures on the internet?

I don't approve of the coupling.  It's keeping me up at nights.

If eblah were full of members like you.. this would be a very unfriendly place.

Okay, Truce guys. I must say I was stunned when I saw a post dedicated to 'Stop bullying Britney Spears', poor girl (NOT). She is not the only celebrity (?) to be put under the microscope for their stupid behaviour in public. I agree with Lurveit on this. Dean, you are a long term member and your posts to lurveit are very cutting which in turn prompted lurveit to reply in kind. A slanging match is not on. Let's agree to disagree because everyone IS entitled to their own opinion and some topics are more emotive than others. Personally I think because there was an existing thread on Britney this thread should not have been made! The author of this thread did post in the existing thread regarding Brit but saw the need for a separate thread.
I personally do not think Brit deserves our sympathy because she has proven time and time again to be dim-witted and she is a 'woman' now, not a girl anymore. She needs to get a decent head on her shoulders if she intends to raise her children in a decent manner.

tomma_pers still brings up a good point in the thread, and one that the two of you find more conveniant not to recognise, and it does sound whimpy the way it's stated, but:
Quoted Text
celebrities are people too

And what that is meant to boil down to is that they should be respected the same way anyone else would be.

The fact that the site is entertainment based and that there is a forum for discussing celebrities doesn't make it good to do so and the depth that it's done is pretty bad.

People roll off their tongues things like "They chose to be a celebrity" "It's what they wanted" "It comes with the territory" and I'm guilty of bashing Tom Cruise on a forum I visit occasionally but someone came along and pointed out that the guy had done a handful of things in a relatively short period of time and that Scientology isn't really immensly weird when put against most major religions and shame on us because the guy has family that most of us never heard of who have to put up with us in addition to media.
I hated that guy for speaking the truth.

I think I've already pointed out that most people wouldn't have a clue up until less than 10 years ago, what sort of crap celebrities put up with, and that's the plain truth that I think we can agree on.  I've also put out there that many people if not most get involved at an age that they aren't capable of understanding what it means to be mobbed by cameramen.  It would sound pretty glamourous to a kid I think actually.  I don't think there's many 8 or 12 year olds out there with adequate forethought of thinking what a pain in the arse it would be to walk 30 feet to their car, smiling and maintaining bullshit mojo for 20 cameramen when the reality was that they had just gotten into a huge fight with your spouse 10 seconds earlier.

Let me back up, to address some quotes above.  First I'll say that my previous comments in the topics you participated in, Suzi, were indeed just a reaction of being annoyed.  The one in lurveit's thread about being obsessed was somewhat reactionary to being annoyed but not very much and it was very much geared at hopefully getting her to realise that she was indeed obsessed and if you're thinking that someone might be going to the extreme of putting those purple letters in, it's a good thing to ask. I'm glad I asked.

Screw this, I'll get straight to the points because I can't keep my mind on it.
One is, well it's not a point to be made but something that I wanted to include incidental, that the other thread is entitled "Brit... at it again".  I think that the conflict of two threads set aside, it's fair to have this thread especailly with the reasoning that it was put up with being of differant substance than the other one.  The other one is also opinionated by title and although you see this thread as silly, other people see the other thread as silly.
The best thing I think would be to merge and rename them somehow but probably it couldn't be done without pissing off one or both of the authors.

I forgot what I was typing for.  I had an actual additional point. I'm sure of it
Well I can't remember.  What a waste of time it was anyway.  I'll just say that people judge very harshly about the intent people have when they fall into being worshiped as celebrities... what they expect about it, that they have realistic expectations, and you make assumptions that a whole lifestyle is easy to kiss goodbye and turn around on and that if people don't then it's your right to continue on about them.  More accurately, the way I see it and as has been pointed out more thoroughly by tomma_pers is that the fact that someone is a celebrity may give you the legal right to be abusive, but it doesn't give you the moral right, don't delude yourself on that point.

I knew a guy who did commercials as a kid.  I knew a lot of people who did.  Anyhow, this guy, we used to joke about him becoming a big star.  It was fun to think about and he thought it was funny too.  He turned out to be a big star within a couple years.  I know that he couldn't have imagined how it would impact him and it penetrates much further than the media.  Today he's in a wheelchair and eats through a tube... do you see what you people did! L0L just kidding, he's fine.  The last time I saw him, he was failing miserably in a TV interview, the kind that you feel embarrased for the person in question.  Before that I saw him picking up stuff from the public High School probably to graduate, and he looked like he had been plucked by aliens and was experiencing major culture shock from being back on Earth.  I think if I had said "Hi" that it would have scared him.  That wasn't really part of our notion of what being a big star was all about but it's what he was able to handle of the world at age 18 after being stalked, lied to, manipulatd and so on... back when magazines and newspapers were all there really was, before the internet and fools like us wasting our time on it.

What happens when Britney Spears signs up to be a member of the forum.  Do the threads get locked?  Does she get to take our pictures and edit comments into them?

You're late.  The issue is old and was settled.

To answer your question, I've known people that this sort of stuff would apply to and I've known people who have had to hide their association with people this would apply to in order to get by in the world.  I've had friends that had to act as if ashamed of their parents.  That is part of it.

Don't be sorry Dara.  That's only part of it, but it's been a futile thing to argue against and I don't really want to waste more time on it is also why I don't want to be additionally detailed.

I'm not a fan of her music or her attempts at being a responsible parent, but I don't dislike the girl.

I hope she can get cleaned up and stay that way for her's and her kids' sakes.

Stay away from the ne'r do well party types and don't take up their habits.
