They are trying to build a new pit straight grandstand for the Clipsal 500 instead of the temporary one  . It would double as the victoria park racecourse grandstand but the fossils in the local council are blocking it. What is it about South Australia that wont allow this state to move forward. If you know the story you would be amazed at the mis information and lies being told by the opponents of the new grandstand. I think they deep down hate motor racing.

Clpisal was great, and did you see this weeks races I thought that ch7 did a good job I just hope that when the AFL season takes off they don't let the V8's suffer.

Time will tell on that one.

I am a ford fan and watching this weeks races I am a little concerned as to how we will go this season. Bring on the new falcon (codenamed orion). Ch 7 did a good job in what looked like a seamless transition from ch 10.

it seems the general feeling of this thread is ch7 did a good job i think the first race in adelaide was pretty bad we had ads every five minutes bargallo was a little better however they are still not timing pit stops which i think especially in big races like bathurst is terrible who knows how they will cover that luckily they have a few months to get it right . lets hope they do .honestly it couldnt get much worse, im not just whinging go to the yahoo message boards and see how many people feel the same the coverage compared to channel 10 whilst we may get to see a few more races, qualifying etc they had the quality that ch7 is lacking.

did you see what happened on sunday with the race from NZ ? as there were a few safty car incident's, time was running out, so ch7 forced the race controlers to cut the race 8 laps short, to fit in the AFL,(which I know would have a larger audience ), but not all the driver knew that the race was shorter. SO ch 7 is this what we V8 fans will have to expect from now on when they are racing in different time zones eg WA .

Um, also from Pukekohe (which I will miss) on Sat the race wasn't even live (not sure if Ch 7 advertised that way).  I had a friend in NZ call, I was still watching and they said it had finished over 1 hr ago.

Looks like Ch 7 are using this (as with other sports they get their hands on) as a filler rather than a main event.

i agree ch 10 did a way better job the coverage was 100% better sure we may not have gotten to see qualifying or in some cases the saturday race but at least we did get to see all of the sunday race.
ch7 had a chance at v8s a few years ago and failed it appears they are about to do the same thing.

Don't worry, I have a lot to do with shipping and international date lines.  If it's LIVE it should be on in Australia as well as in NZ (no matter the time difference).  It had definitely finished when I got the call from NZ (over 1 hr to be precise) and they were still racing on Australian TV.  Ch 7 YOU SUCK, give it back to 10 if you're not going to give it the prominence it deserves (that was Sat only as I couldn't bother to ring NZ on Sun to check).

but this is my point with ch7 did they only get it because it was rating well, after ch10 did such a good job on it, or did ch7 just want to be the sports gurus after ch9 , so if you are investing all that money then why not do the job properly ?, and if you watch sunrise you may have noticed, that when ch10 had the motor racing Koshie poo poo it, but now he's a rev head, please ,

I'm also not sure about 7's actual broadcast.  I don't have set top box (Digital) and the signal seems to be coming through on MONO.  Now, I know it's just Motor Racing but is this 7 being cheap or encouraging people to buy set tops.

Ch7 need to give it back to Ch10.
