I used to go to church, now I don't.

And I really hate those street preachers.

I like Dara's and SuziH's answers.

Anyone who has been to the religious thread knows where I stand. Agnostic now after being raised a Catholic, Catholic schools and all, with strict Catholic parents (especially mum, now resting in peace) who turned away from the Church for reasons I wont iterate here.

I believe something started it all and set the physical laws for the universe, but that's as far as it goes, we have been in freefall ever since. All the signs and observations of the universe from the macro to the minisucle and forces beyond even that tell us that is the case. Nowhere can there be seen a controlling or guiding hand. As proof do a search on GRBs (gamma ray bursts) and see how scary the universe is and how insignificant and tentative our existance is.

I believe a lot in the power of self as others have intimated. There are many studies where children have grown up with no religious or parental guidance (for whatever reason) and overwhelmingly they inherently know what is good and what is evil. It is inate, you don't need religion to teach it to you.

Do your best in life, be good and forgiving to others and always attempt to improve onself, that is where the real future of mankind lies.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

I am Humanist.
Humanism Philosophy is  a variety of ethical theory and practice that emphasizes reason, scientific inquiry, and human fulfillment in the natural world and often rejects the importance of belief in God.
I am considerate of others because they are human and to animals and the enviroment because I am responsible for them and they make my life better.
Simple.

I dont think I fit in any of these categories. Im not religios, but not aggainst it, I dont not believe in god but I dont neccasarily believe in it either. Im a bit of a drifter. But I sure as hell dont think Scientology is a religion, rather a manipulative CULT.

Scientology IS a cult. No questions about it. I doubt that anybody in their right mind would join scientology unless they have something to gain out of it (which they most likely do). For God's sake, it was invented by a sci-fi nerd some 50 years ago.

Maybe its followers get unrestricted access to every Star Trek episode and movie ever made.

I thought that was how Scientologists were punished if they went to hell.

Yes and no, I think the term agonistic is in itself pretty limited, but there to some degree I guess I am.
