I don't understand how shows generally don't rate well after 9:30 p.m. in Australia. In some US states high rating programs such as "Grey's Anatomy", "CSI: Miami", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "ER" don't finish until 11:00 p.m.. I will watch a show up to 1 a.m. if I have too. What time do you stop watching television (weekly average)?

I usually stop watching telly after 1, because i like to stay up to watch David Letterman. I cannot miss his making fun of George W. Bush. I love the George W. Bush muck ups. I go to bed laughing. Letterman is the best. But if Letterman starts after about 1:30, i don't bother staying up for it. If that isn't on or i'm not watching a DVD or movie on tv, i'm in bed before 1.

9:30 pm, after All Saints/Prison Break. Although when Dancing with the Stars and/or The Amazing Race is on air, it's 10:30pm.

It depends on the day for me. But I would definately stay up much longer if there was more on to watch. (instead of for example, the shopping channel on three stations some nights.   )

Some nights are good though, with movies etc on. But I do wish the programmers would realise not everyone is in bed at 10pm. I'm up until 3am some nights!

The latest lately has been up to 11:30 just because of 24. Usually though I'd stop watching at 10:30 since after that there aren't really many shows than interest me.

Occasionaly I might watch Family Guy and American Dad on a thursday, but that's about it.

Never before midnight and usually around 1pm-2pm sometimes later.

I'm usually up watching Letterman unless it's on extremely late like 3.30 then I tape it.

Unless House is on conflicting with something else I tape, or CSI Criminal Intent on Sundays... or any thing worth staying up for after 8:30 and I am unable to tape, I go to bed between 8 and 9pm. I read sometimes until 11pm though. Love my books.

I really don't watch that much TV, despite the impression I might give

For me, it's really only Big Brother at 7pm, any Big Brother special, then Ten's news at 10.30ish. I might sneak in a few minutes of Up Late.

I know, shoot me guys!

Depends. I usually stop at 10.30pm, but may continue to 11.00pm if there's something good on.

I stay up to watch BB Up-late. But other than that, I usually stop by 10:30, going later if there's a movie or game on that runs past that.

Ok it just seems unusual that's all, what's wrong with the 6 pm news?
So are you saying anyone who doesn't watch the news has no interests outside the home?

I can see where Norman's coming from...the late news has that sort of hook on you

I don't watch it, but if I watch like a minute of it, I don't turn it off until I've watched the whole program.

I also watch the 6am News and 5pm News.

I guess I just like the news and keeping up-to-date. I watch ABC news and read The Advertiser on my 3 phone on my way to school as well.

I watch the 6pm news if it's on while I'm on the computer (eyes in the back of my head )
You don't fail? Lol but does that mean just passing or average or good?

I am usually up quite late with the TV on. I will watch all my usual primetime stuff, then a midnightish show, depending on the night.. then I will catch up on shows I have taped from earlier in the week... which I also do when there are gaps in what I watch earlier in the night.

All in all, I'm up often until 4, 5, 6am... it's funny sometimes to see two or sometimes more channels all running the same infomercial, for ProActiv, or Anthony Robbins.. or Cindy Crawford's Meaningful Beauty, heh...

Personally I'd like those empty hours to be filled with all the stuff they air for a few weeks, that doesnt rate thru the roof, then they pull.. it obviously sits on their shelf for months gathering dust, while us poor little peons are forced to write letters/posts whinging about "when is it going to be back on? I was to know what happened...."
Often  they'll play the rest of the series at some off hour, like 11am or 2:30am.. it's lucky I scour the TV guides every week, otherwise I would have missed the endings of some of these series...

that's my ramble, thanks for listening.

Bringing back a near two year old topic

I went for none of these, as I do not have a certain time I watch TV because I just record everything and watch when I feel like it.

I have a hard drive recorder so because you can watch what you have recorded while recording another show I just do that these days (or record one and watch a time shifted one), because I work for myself my days are not always normal, so I make TV fit in with me and not the other way around. So yeah plenty to record and watch especially with the HD programs on 7, 9 and 10 (hurray up and finish the Cricket 10 so I can go back to watching Eureka again).

So yeah just whenever I watch the recorded stuff, which could be any time at all really.
