How CRAZY is this?!?!

Strapped in right ...  I think not!

Rear facing ... I think not!

In the appropriate aged seating ... I think not!

Sun protected ... I think not!

Wind Burn protected ... I think not!

Middle Back... we can ONLY hope!

And to think... she herself stated on her website "I no longer study Kabbalah, my baby is my religion"... well she’s failing the subject!... AND she has another on the way!!

All I have to finish with is... 1st we had to teach her she NEEDED to put him in a car seat.. NOW we have to teach her how to use it?? *sigh*

He appears to be strapped in correctly, he's just fallen asleep. Babies have no controll over how their bodies fall when they sleep, its really more of an unconcious state than a sleeping state.  Some baby seats do have a recline function so baby doesn't flop forward. And for his age and weight he should be facing forward, not backwards. As for babies in convertables, I don't know what the laws say, surely you can drive with the top down? And sun protection, well, he could be wearing sunscreen, its invisible so you can't tell.

But yeah, she aint the smartest mum out there. Hopefully her parenting skills will improve with time.

I do believe that this subject could of been incorporated into this: http://www.ebroadcast.com.au/eblah/b-celebrities/m-1146710780/s-new/
thread. Please don't make multiple threads about the same subject ie: Britney Spears. If you had read the thread that is linked above you would have realised that the news and pics on Britney and baby would of fitted into that thread quite well. All points that you have made lurveit are completely correct. Rear facing and age appropriate that baby seat is NOT! I do think it is in the centre of the back seat of what can only be described as a singles sports car. BTW... she is a self absorbed mother... how much 'wind' would that poor little one have from riding in an open car let alone sun-damage. Some people just shouldn't breed!

Oh, sorry suzi.

The wind and sunburn are due to the fact that both she and Sean were apparently driving around L.A most the morning ducking on and off the highways... speeds get quite fast and a baby’s skin is not anywhere as thick as that of a toddler to handle those elements etc. It would have been common sense to adjust the car to cater for the baby then her own body temperature needs. Poor thing.

Well, according to Britney, the baby is over 20 pounds, so he has no need to be facing backwards. Even if he wasn't 20 pounds, all that Californian law says is it prefers baby to face backwards, its not required by law.

It looks like it is either a very new law or it is not a law but is a bill that has not yet been voted on yet.

search the page for "backward" for a short summary.  It looks like it's just a politicains site in this case bragging about proposing the bill so the wording of 1 year and 20 lbs. may mean 1 year or 20 lbs. on the actual paper but I'm betting it is "1 year and", however I'm guessing that in the immaculate California environment, the web page would have been updated to brag about the law as a personal accomplishment and if not then for the sake of crossing all the t's and dotting the i's but that's of course an assumption on my part.  I couldn't be bothered to keep searching for the law itself.
http://democrats.assembly.ca.gov/members/a07/InternetOutreach/A07News2006-03.htm

My link is also not at all perfect, but clearly from our posts, including mine, a message forum is not a good place to find facts but opinions and often a lot of propoganda to support it which can be misinformation, accidentaly or intentionaly on the part of the people posting it... bit like Bill Gates giving away his fortune.

I'm guessing just the 20 pounds, not the age, is what matters here. Babies grow at different rates - I know of someone with a baby who at 9 months of age was the size of an 18 month old!. So to try and cram that poor baby into a rear facing seat would be dangerous.

So it sounds like America need to get their act together with their babyseat laws, so they can protect these little babies from their sometimes stupid mothers!

On TV last night they showed the safety issue with Brit's baby. A rear facing seat can be layed back further therefore giving the baby more support for their necks and heads. The same seat as he was in can be turned around to be 'rear facing'. Paediatricians have weighed into the debate and a baby's neck and head can be severely damaged from 'lolling' around unsupported like his was. I know all about children not conforming to weight/height for age. My son and daughter were both around 10 pounds (4 and a half kilos) and 23 inches (almost 60cm) long, at birth. 21 years ago my son did not even fit into a baby capsule at 2 weeks of age and was straight into a baby seat that reclined. All his life he was in the 99 percentile for his age with his height and weight. At age five he was in size 10yr old clothes but in a booster seat in the back seat of the car.

exactly right suzi. what I don't get is how her brain didn't somehow foresee that as a future risk (motherly instincts... anything!?!) when placing him in the seat?? he's only 8 months!

I did see her on dave letterman... (i think it was) and she REALLY didn’t seem to have a lot up there! I know it should've been expected but I just thought (possibly hoped) she would have had some kind of IQ to come up with more than the few words she seemed to mutter … oh, and to take the gum out of her mouth when going on a worldwide tv program.

Yes well, she is pregnant after all, and what pregnant woman doesn't loose her brain function during the gestation period?

Pop star Britney Spears is embroiled in more parental controversy, after nearly dropping her baby as she was leaving a New York City hotel on Thursday. The latest mishap occurred as the singer emerged from the Ritz Carlton hotel, holding a drink in one hand and her baby in the other. Spears tried to maneuver through a crowd of onlookers when she tripped suddenly, causing her son's head to snap backwards and sending his hat flying off. The singer regained her balance and the baby didn't seem to suffer any serious injuries, according to website Tmz.com. Immediately after the incident an agitated Spears said, "This is why I need a gun," seemingly referring to having to battle her way through the crowd. The incident is the latest in a series of mishaps for Spears. She caused concern earlier this week when she was snapped driving her Mini Cooper convertible with her son in his car seat facing the wrong way.

Yeah Britney, a baby in one hand, a gun in the other. Really responsible...

POP mum Britney Spears will be enshrined in US law, after California politicians introduced a bill forcing parents to face child car seats backwards if they are less than one year old, contactmusic reports. Brit started another car-seat row this week when she was snapped with her eight-month-old son, Sean Preston, slumped in a forward-facing seat. Lawmakers hope the new legislation will clear up any confusion. The new Bill would be called Britney's Law, in honour of the pop star, if passed. Tom Cruise also inspired politicians this month, with a bill introduced to ban selling ultrasound machines to anyone but licensed medical professionals, after he bought one for fiance Katie Holmes.

I dont really know how I feel about her now next worldwide media "issue"

she posted some poem on her website about the media... took it off soon after because everyone thought it was about kevin. lol (if u want to see what it read - http://www.pinkisthenewblog.com)

anyway, nevertheless its easy to say, the girl is simply not ready for parenting. I saw the justin timberlake film clip cry me a river today and really, if she had not chosen a lot of what she has chosen (a lot of bad choices - cheating, kevin..) i'm more than sure her life could have been sooo much better. oh well, I heard an interview with justin n he just stated he only has sympathy for her.

so yeah, its hard to say what actually happened. some say it was her jeans being too long, some say her ankle twisted in the trailer trash wedges, others say media pushing, and some say the glass of "water" i do admit.. if it was not a suspicious substance why not just drop the glass... and i mean.. why carry a  glass of anything and a child in the other hand when facing a media/crowd that large?? i dont know.. the girl does have some serious problems.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel sorry for her too. You know, she's probably just making typical first time mum mistakes that most new mums do, but because she's Britney, the media are ready to blow every tiny little mistake she makes right up into a major news story. I'm sure Gweneth Paltrow made plenty of mistakes with her first born (like the name she gave the poor kid!).

I was thinking back earlier that when I first got a computer that was connected to the internet was in 2000 and at the time I had a free ad based internet service provider and one of the ads that came up often was a thing to vote in an apparent poll (clicking anywhere would take you to a page of course) that looked something like this:

Code
Britney Spears, are they fake:
( ) Yes, she's filled out too quickly
( ) No, she's still a growing girl

It got me thinking that even blonde people have rights... just kidding.  But it did get me thinking that although stuff like that was good for her career at the time, it may or may not have been what she wanted for her career but either way it wasn't nice.

Edit:  That's supposed to be a banner ad if it looks strange.

Ok... so this is why Brit almost dropped Sean. However, she only had blame for the media. It has also gone on audio tape her stating at the exact time of the incident - "This is why I need a gun".

Okay, I'm really not a Britney hate person but I do have to state. Don't blame the media as 5+ years ago you begged them to take a photo of u for exposer. She knew the industry she was asking to be apart of. How about we blame the over sized chunky wedges, choosing to coordinate a glass of something and baby through a crowded area (press/fans)? Guys. she was in New York... its not exactly the most quiet place to be when your Britney Spears.

I just think she needs to own her own behaviour but that said I do have sympathy for how far this young star has fallen.

Britney and Federline Split?
New reports Britney Spears has split from husband Kevin Federline have not been denied by the singer's publicist. British newspaper the Daily Mirror claims the couple's relationship has grown so strained, Spears has banished Federline to live in the basement of their California mansion. She reportedly returned from New York this week to find the aspiring rapper drinking and smoking cannabis in the house. Sources tell the newspaper Spears had hoped to save the marriage for the sake of their son Sean Preston and their unborn second child - due in October - but has lost patience. A friend says, "She wanted to wait but their relationship has become so hostile she just doesn't see how she can make it work." When quizzed, a spokesman for the star refused to deny the claims.

wow... its weird to look back on the past isn't it?!

pink is the new blog celebrates its 2nd b'day 2day n has some pics of brit back in june 2004. exactly two years from now and how a bung knee changed it all!

When she was with Justin she began filming for her new "Outrageos" video with snoop dog but stuffed her knee during the making forcing her to cancel the rest of the tour and rest. Back then she always looked hot... hair tidy.. no glue ext showing..makeup done... pretty clothes. As trent writes she found herself in a very vulnerable position ... so much so that she fell under the sway of a down-and-out back up dancer who happened to be in her life at the perfect time ... for him ... for Kevin Federline. While she nursed her damaged knee (fearing she may never get to dance again), K-Fed was there to nurture her and worm his way into her life. The rest, ladies and gentlemen, is history. We all know what came of their relationship (a marriage, a baby and countless trashy misadventures) because we've spent the last 2 years chronicling the ramifications that sprung from that one incident back in June of 2004. If only she didn't hurt her knee.

Wow... its really weird to look back and see how it all went wrong! I'm sure theres more to the story than just a bung knee though (e.i cheating). I remember how hurt Justin was back then.. poor bugger! oh well, he's has a blissful few years ever since with cameron diaz and Brits well... we're prayin for you Brit. weird huh!

SHE'S GETTING DIVORCED !!!! (...Well, according to sources)

o yeah!! o yeah!!!! o yeah!!!

She hasn't yet confirmed it which is what I normally wait on ... but this is news I would be OVER THE MOON with... the girls soo close to my age that I look at her and feel so much pity. she does have potential to be a great mother, a beautiful woman and a respected lady but ... right now, with kevin we only see trash.

Anyway, shes app. got the lawyers in to get in finalised quietly asap fast.

So... she's not getting divorced   she has however, sat down with with NBC’s Matt Lauer and some cameras in an effort to defend her behaviour and put rumours to rest.. soo.. her marriage with kevin is still going and apparently is "awesome".. pfft! And says “He helps me.  He has to.  I’m (an) emotional wreck right now.”.

Okay.. I’ve got to say something about some of her points of argument! … as for the emotional wreck stuff - shes in an immature relationship with a boy that doesn’t know how to be a man and whom has succumbed to the fantasy of Hollywood (ages ago). We can see the guy basically lives his own life on her credit. With one child under one years and another on the way. They spend money like crazy and have a lot less these days coming in with basically from her point of view soon to be three extra mouths to feed and keep up appearances with. No wonder the girls always walking around in cheap store summer dresses and wedged thongs from the discount bin. The only time the public get in the way is when we see her child in a bad circumstance we make a big deal about it because we don’t want to see that same incident in next weeks paper… she should be thanking us from saving Sean from a possible future incident!

She then goes on to open up about the Pacific Coast Highway where she was photographed with her son, Sean, on her lap in the car. She discusses the events that led to the situation and ultimately says, “I can’t go anywhere without someone judging me...I did it with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I drive. We’re country.”. Okay…. Do I even need to go here?? Sure… anyone from the country (including myself in the kimbos when I was a kid) has driven on their parents lap…we’ve all been there but the chances of hitting something when driving in almost no traffic at a low speed is a lot less than that of being on a highway … speeding!?!? What an immature fool! Even mums in the country when they have a child under one consider the baby seat buckle up! Seriously… being in the country is a lot different than that of a Californian highway!

Then! Comes the tears when she goes on about the paparazzi demanding they leave her alone. Lauer then asks her what would she say to them as individuals ..she says, “You have babies at home.  And...you have a life.  And if you don’t, you have to realize that we’re people and that we ... just need privacy and we need our respect.  And those are things that you have to have as a human being.”. Oh please! Most celebs that have heard about her comments to the paparazzi have just fought back for them basically saying that the paparazzi are just being the paparazzi - a necessity to the industry and to fame. She’s whinging now.. but she loved them in the beginning!

Anyway, even listening to the sneak you can hear she’s very immature and when she listens to what Matt Laurer has to say on behalf of the public and the professional’s she’s very much like a teenager… not actually listening … just hearing what she wants to hear kind of thing.

Anyhoo, decide for yourself…

Read in the paper Mel Gibson is having to move from his mansion next door. I can understand that, I mean he probably pays to have the lawn done and everything looks nice and then someone from Brit's isn't looking where they're driving and back the caravan into mel's

In regards to MeanDean's post about the twins; FAKE!

I missed the Sunrise airing of this but apparently it was almost nothing anyway and will (supposedly) air the FULL interview on Sunday’s Sunrise. …hmm

I couldn’t wait that long and found 40mins of the dateline spectacular on the net. Be prepared for excessive amounts of air quote hand gestures (which I really don’t think she understands the meaning of), rolling eyes and open mouth gum chewing. At times you can hear the saliva being slapped together.

Just watching this I get the feeling she’s very lost with her own self-image. She still hasn’t grown up. She answers all of the interview questions just like that in the sneak peak - like a defensive teenager. Not a whole lot of understanding, pouty lips, in one ear and out the other… very odd. Especially when she prides herself on the fact that she is a) now a woman and b) now a mother. Everybody has their own set of problems but how can somebody who once had it all have made sooo many bad choices?!?! First it was men (cheating, marriage, Kevin, marriage), then it was clothes (her fashion changed from sweetly sexy to tramp o’ the year) and then children (“ya’ll” know what I’m talking about). Yet, she still finds nothing wrong with where she is in life – it’s everybody else’s fault but her own?

It’s sooo sad to see all these gorgeous photos of this beautifully sweet girl compared to the now trailer trash peroxide blonde we’re faced with everyday. The girls sooo confused ... she wanted to be a singer (with entertaining comes fame) but now wants to be a southern stay at home mother ... loves the money she has... but doesn't want the media with it ... has a husband that loves the lifestyle they lead in california. Even I would be screwed up with all that!

i kinda like it ... I guess its better than bad blonde hair at the mo' (it's been looking so yellow and bristly looking!).

Does look bizarre with the blonde/brown eyebrows though

Please don't bully poor Brit. She needs time to recover, find her ground again, and become the girl she always should have been. The tabloids have been unfair to them and this should be raised.

I'm sorry I know she’s pregnant and this is suppose to be "beautiful" but if there were no baby bulge this would be 'soft-porn' ...IT IS!

Why would you allow these photos be done to be seen by millions? She’s not wearing anything but a g-banger?!   Such a stupid girl... feral!

National Enquirer apologises to Britney
Wednesday Jul 19 07:54 AEST

The National Enquirer apologised to Britney Spears in its British and Irish edition for reporting that she was ready to divorce Kevin Federline.

The articles were published June 5 and June 12 under the headlines, "Britney marriage is over!" and "Britney and Kevin: And now their divorce!" Both stories were vaguely sourced to unidentified friends of the couple.

The retraction and apology said National Enquirer officials "now accept that their marriage is not over and they are not getting divorced. These allegations are untrue and we now accept Britney's position that the statements are without foundation. We apologise for any distress caused."

A London lawyer representing American Media, the Boca Raton, Florida-based publisher of the National Enquirer, signed a settlement agreement with Paul Tweed, the Belfast lawyer representing Spears in Britain and Ireland. The settlement requires a published apology, but no cash damages.

Spears pursued a libel action on the eastern side of the Atlantic, rather than in the United States, because British and Irish laws are much more plaintiff-friendly.

The 24-year-old pop princess and Federline, 28, an aspiring rapper, were married in September 2004. They have a 10-month-old son, Preston, and she is pregnant with their second child, due this spring.

My take is that shes taken something. Kevins the owner of whatever she's drugged out on AND he's videoing it to watch it back with her 2moro to have a laugh BECAUSE nobody could be that stupid and want a camera in their face when their eating. She has cameras surround her 24/7 she cries about why would she want want at home when eating?!

My god.. I dunno. She's just too weird in this... of her face weird.
