Well, I am kinda both. I like to go out driving much, but the high petrol prices, hoons that put other drivers at risk, drink drivers and big trucks (sorry truckies, but you guys are lethal with all those drug-taking) on the road really is no good to me.

I have driven over 1.5 million km's so it's not really exciting anymore for me

When Mike Goldman (BB Uplate) acts normally then I don't mind watching.
But when he tries to be a C grade comedian I have to hit the FF button.

I did love driving for 25 years when I could go "wroom wroom" and pretend to be Peter Brock.

But the speed cameras have taken all the fun out of it.

These days I find driving a total bore and only drive because I have to go from A to B.

I hate city driving with a passion. Sydney is a total nightmare.

Country driving is still alright providing you are not on a hwy. But you still have to stay on that speed limit... Or else... No more licence.

yeah ,well thats all true !

personally i think drivers a just getting plain stupider & selfish !

there are a few things that really piss me off, that make driving a pain in the arse .
my 2 main points: ( there are others ) but these i really hate:

people that dont take off quick enough on green arrows at major intersections..and then end up missing out by 1 or 2 cars...( or at generally known quick changing intersections)

people on double lane highways that insist on sticking in the right lane - then do the same speed as the car next to them on the left ...this calls for drastic action ( no wonder there's road rage - and the VICTIM gets the blame in this case for getting angry ..errr hello - this is cause for justifyable homicide nearly i reckon lol ) ..or at least a punch to the head or rammed if deliberatly ignored

people who actaully tail gate, in the left lane on a double lane road, when the right lane is completely empty ! ... i do not get this ?
but i will make a drastic point everytime ! ...can be quite fun actually. ( does'nt happen often though) ... nor should it

and ultimately, & nothing about road rules, but simply wankers in cars that think they are gods gift to anyone they want to attract via their car's image ..LMAO
some of the "im so cool " attempts with modifications or missing front grills in order to show chrome coolers , or blower valves , home made rear spoilers that would make genuine drag cars look small ..etc etc  - actually it's not really annoying , it's damn hilarious !  they dont seem to have any idea of how bad the image or attempts look . sad , sad.

I love driving - taking my toys out of the covers and stretching thier legs - nothing more enjoyable.

My pet hate on the road is not so much the speedsters ( although I don't condone it) but the speedsters that weave in and out thats just downright stupidity almost but not as bad as thoses temporary aussie that insist on riding a 1000+ bike in shorts and thongs

My other grip is these People that don't know how to use a Round -a -bout  they think just cause they are on the right of you and 50 meters away from the 'bout you have to giveway to them - grrrrrrrr that annoys me.

All told thou apart from the once in a blue moon idiot i generally have no other issue with road users in general.. ohhh wait I do have one more...

( Past employment) Those people that sit in the right lane at an intersection with an Emergency veichle approching from behind and If they have a red light they think they cannot move thru it to get out they way - Wake up ppl its not an offence! get out of the way......

I love driving and have to agree totally with the post above me written by ALLEYCAT. What is so damned hard about a round-about. They were invented to keep traffic FLOWING and yet you see people slamming on the brakes all the time. I even saw an elderly man once going the WRONG way on a round-about. As in ANTI clockwise I get great enjoyment from driving but find the Sunshine Coast is getting more and more congested and driving is getting more and more hazardous. I love driving on long trips. Even going to Brisbane a couple of weeks ago was fun because I had not done the trip for about 3 years. I need to get out more.
I have been driving for 33-34 years with not one blemish and I drive defensively. I am by no means a wimpy driver who pokes along at 40 in a 60 zone or 75 in a 100-110 zone. I don't expect more of my car than it is capable of either. It is almost 20 years old! I always indicate when I am going to change lanes or go around a corner. One of my pet peeves is people who do not indicate Lane floaters annoy the hell out of me. People who weave in and out of the traffic changing lanes with gay abandon put everyone else at risk. If I had a PA system attached to my car, it would be embarressing. I don't ever have road rage BUT I do swear at stupid drivers a lot and there are plenty of stupid drivers on the road. If I am hormonal the swearing is even more intense No one outside the car can hear me though They may be able to read my lips.

I have to agree with the above listed annoyances while driving. . but I am noticing some new ones too.

Why can't people use 'right turn-out' lanes properly?
In fast flowing traffic at peak hour they put the right indicator on and start to pull into the turn-out  then they remain half in the traffic lane    . causing everyone behind them to brake hard !.
They are not driving huge trucks with a wide turning circle . . modern cars can turn very well . . but they insist on acting like they are at the wheel of a 1950's Yank Tank clunker.

My pet peeve is 4 Wheel Drives . . ( are they breeding or what ?) . .always 10 kph below the speed limit . . never pull to the left but drive down the center of the road so nobody can see past them , and slow take-off at lights is another subject . .  with the high view they have of all they drive past. . they get to a T junction and pull up past the white line so any car next to them has NO hope of joining the traffic safely 'coz we just can't see!! . . if they just kept back 1/2 to 1 meter  (their view would still be the same) and everyone could keep moving.

A workmate of mine used to have one until it rolled recently and she was pinned under the weight of 'The Beast' and witnesses could not help her . . she says she will NEVER drive another one ever again . . it rolled when braking on a flat wet road . . it was top heavy.

Having just got back from a 2500 k trip I have to agree that in general (I know there are exceptions) 4wd owners are the worst on the road.  I only have a Magna, but that cruised easily at 90-100 kph towing a 14 ft van capably and safely. I saw countless 4wd's , huge beasts never taken off the bitumen, vertually new, towing vans hardly bigger than mine, sitting on and staying on 75-80 kph.......AND, they always seem to speed up when in an overtaking lane..........boy, I am not suprised the truckies get frustrated.

I have a love hate driving relationship. I hate driving to work, if I can drive to the railway station and catch a train. Then thats my preferred mode of transport.

However I love to drive just for the hell of it. I recently discovered geocaching. Its fun. It has got me back into my car and driving for leisure rather than to get from A to B.

I think there are less bad drivers on the road when you are on a leisure drive.

My car died in May 2007.
I still love driving when I get the opportunity. I have my daughter's car while she is up in Townsville for the New Year and have enjoyed zooming around, especially today when there is next to no traffic. She lends me her car so I can go and feed the cats and rat for her (my grandsons)
I drive my BF's car about once a month. Both cars are small and manual (5 on the floor)

I enjoy driving which is just as well as I live at least 35km from any large town but also hate tail-gaters.  My little car was recently trapped between a container truck who was travelling @ 80 in a 100k zone (which suited me) and a full loaded quarry truck and trailer was tail-gating - we were on double white lines and there was nowhere to pull over and let him pass - scary!  In our RAA magazine - a letter was printed from someone who was complaining that "P" platers can only do 100 in 110k zones!  It should be pointed out to them that a speed limit is exactly that - a LIMIT - there is no obligation to travel constantly at that speed.
