Ha ha, look at that AFL team we love to hate !!

One of Eddie McGuire's Collingwood players got busted for drink driving. Ironically their soon-to-be ex sponsor, the TAC (guys behind Wipe off .05) about to tear up their sponsorship.

Nice one Collingwood !!

yeah ...pretty silly thing to do indeed, and more than likely , he'll be sacked from the club now anyway  - he knew what the deal was , he now can suffer for it.  arr well ,
on the other hand ...to me - i would'nt mind being sponsored by another company anyway....say perhaps , one's that were'nt as much of a bunch of ars*hole's  towards innocent/genuine victims of road incidents !  unlike the T.A.C of course, who rip the everyday day driver off in their greedy % of the rego every year ..then play tight a*ses against  the innocent when push comes to shove for genuine claims !

Collingwood will always get sponsorship anyway  ! .... sorry to inform you of this info .     you know this ..i know this  .

are you an Essendon supporter by any chance ?
ha ! ..it sure was a messy game indeed today !    errr yukky !
but despite the 'disgraceful' umpirering decisions going the Don's way today .. big time - and nothing going the pies way what so ever (umpireing or player moves ), or so it seemed most of the time - the Don's still lost !

over it already

Another one's been accused of being drunk.  Eddie vehemently denies it, yet it's reported that he is to front court in November.  Who do we believe?

Didak not drunk, says Eddie

Article from: AAP

ALAN Didak wasn't drunk when arrested, after an altercation with a taxi driver outside a Melbourne nightspot, Collingwood president Eddie McGuire says.

Didak, 23, has been charged on summons with being drunk and disorderly following the altercation in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, about 1am (AEST) today.

A club spokeswoman said Didak was arrested by a passing police patrol as he argued with a taxi driver who refused to drive him home unless he paid $25 up front for the short trip.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed a 23-year-old Kew man had been arrested and taken to the Melbourne Custody Centre "to sober up".

She said the man was charged with being drunk and disorderly and released on bail.

Mr McGuire said Didak was probably just a bit unsteady after recent knee surgery.

"Some of the information we get is that the officer who was there thought he was a little wobbly on his feet and you tend to be that way when you've just had a knee reconstruction," Mr McGuire said today.

The club's chief operating officer, prominent former Melbourne lawyer Eugene Arocca, picked Didak up from the police station when he was released.

Mr McGuire said Mr Arocca saw Didak was not drunk.

Speaking to Mr Arocca, who was with him during the telephone interview, Mr McGuire said he said: "Eugs, was he sober?"

"He was sober," was Mr Arocca's reply.

Mr McGuire said he asked Mr Arocca, "Will it be vigorously defended if he's charged for being drunk?, to which Mr Arocca replied "Yep".

For player welfare, and in line with the club's lucrative Transport Accident Commission sponsorship, Mr McGuire said players were taught to act responsibly when drinking.

He said Didak was following the guidelines.

"He got into a cab. He did the right thing. He was prepared to pay more up front. We understand there was a bartering situation going on there with the cab driver, and then the cab driver told him no, I'm not going to drive him out.

"There's no question about his future at the club," Mr McGuire said.

A hearing for Didak will be held at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 8, but police said he was not required to appear because of the time he had served at the custody centre.

Didak began with Collingwood in 2001 and has played 102 matches for the club, booting 146 goals.

He was named in this year's All-Australian team last month but days later underwent a partial knee reconstruction.
