Michael Jackson Is Working on New Album

LONDON -- Michael Jackson has returned to the studio and plans to release a new album next year for a record label owned by the son of Bahrain's king.

2 Seas Records, which is owned by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, said Tuesday it had signed an exclusive recording agreement with Jackson, and the new album was tentatively scheduled for release in late 2007.

Jackson, 47, moved to the Gulf state soon after being acquitted of child molestation charges in California last year. The 33-island archipelago is about the size of Rhode Island.

"I am incredibly excited about my new venture and I am enjoying being back in the studio making music," Jackson said in a statement released in London on behalf of the Bahrain-based record label.

The label _ which is due to release Jackson's long-promised Hurricane Katrina benefit single, "I Have This Dream" _ said British music executive Guy Holmes had been named chief executive of the company. It said Holmes would oversee the making of the new album "and the management of Michael's other business interests."

Jackson has been plagued by financial problems since his trial.

Last month, he closed the house on his 2,600-acre Neverland Ranch estate in California, laying off most of the staff after agreeing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in back wages to avoid a lawsuit by state labor officials.

Last week, he agreed to restructure his finances in a deal with Sony Corp., which shares ownership with Jackson of a valuable music catalog that includes the Beatles.

No details of that agreement were released, but earlier published reports said Jackson was negotiating a debt refinancing plan that would save him from bankruptcy but take away part of his share of the catalog.

agree 100%...most people just see him as this accused paedophile who dangles his kids from tall buildings and has plastic surgery every 5 minutes...but people should just focus on what he has achieved and that he's one of the greastest ever singers and musicians to have lived...

The problem with Michael Jackson is that he is a musical genius and everything he did/does is scrutinised (by the media) and like many people with so much talent in their chosen field, he is eccentric and seen as bizzare. I love him as an artist. His video clips are sensational and his music is unforgettable. He is brilliant IMHO. The media are like a dog with a bone when it comes to 'Odd' famous people. Michael Jackson being one, Tom Cruise being another.

I love michael songs... i'm having an 80's party soon and I swear i've sooo many michael hits ready to play (along with the a complete remix of all his songs) he has sooo many hits!

Recently Video Hits showed how much he is still loved by Australians by having almost all of his releases in the top 100 as voted by aussies themselves. Thriller coming in at number one!

I love him.. he just needs to not be in his filmclips anymore and go back to the songs he made prior to 2000 ... he looks too weird now. and we're reminded of his weird antics by looking at him. so yeah, no to being in film clips and yes to making music like that prior to 2000!

sooooo odd!

Paris, France :: Protected by a huge blue umbrella, 47-year-old Michael Jackson (dressed in his pajamas?) left Jardin des Plantes -- the main botanical garden in France -- in a wheelchair earlier this month. Bodyguards hugged Michael Jackson's three children (whose faces were covered with masks) on their way out -- 9-year-old Prince Michael Jackson I, 8-year-old Paris Jackson, and 4-year-old Prince Michael Jackson II.  (http://www.justjared.com/gossip/2006/06/michael-jackon-visits-paris-garden/)

sooo weird!

These kids must just have the most screwed up childhood ever! not only do they have to deal with creepy photographers all day but handed from bodyguard to bodyguard - running around like chooks with their heads cut off - living such secluded lives - day after day all while they wear masks and have michael jackson as their father (god knows what their interaction would be like with him and I'm not even referring to any of the allegations). Why is he wearing pjs outside of the house?! and a wheelchair? I cannot wait for these poor kids to be 21 and look back on it - hear them speak - see if they're anywhere close to normal?!

Michael Jackson sued by ex-wife
Thursday Jul 13 12:05 AEST

Debbie Rowe, the former Mrs Michael Jackson, has sued the pop singer, claiming he has failed to pay her what he promised when the two divorced in 1999.

In the lawsuit, filed July 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Rowe seeks an immediate payment of $US195,000 ($A259,446.51) for attorney fees and $US50,000 ($A66,524.75) in living expenses so that she can continue pursuing her child-custody case against him.

The next court hearing on the matter is slated for July 26.

Rowe is the mother of Jackson's two children, Prince Michael Joseph Jackson, 9, and Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, 8. She gave up her parental rights to the children in 2001 but asked a judge to reinstate them in 2003 after she learned of Jackson's arrest on child molestation charges.

Rowe says in the lawsuit that Jackson stopped making his promised payments to her in October 2003.

Jackson agreed when they divorced to pay his ex-wife $US1 ($A1.33) million a year for the first three years after their split and $US750,000 ($A997,871.21) annually for six more years. Rowe also received a house in Beverly Hills and a 1998 Ford Explorer. She agreed to visit her children only once every 45 days, according to the lawsuit.

Jackson maintained ownership of his Neverland Ranch and two adjacent properties in Santa Barbara, California, other residential and commercial properties, plus a fleet of vehicles that includes two fire trucks, three vintage Rolls Royces, four tractors and nine golf carts.

I have been downloading all of Michael's Music Video clips. He is such a wonderful entertainer. His clips were like a movie. One of them, 'Bad', goes for over 16 minutes for the full length version. I think 'Smooth Criminal' would have to be in my top 3 favourites. Beautifully choreographed. Michael is a perfectionist when it comes to his art. I think in 'real life' Michael is off with the fairies though. I still love him though, as odd as he is.

Michael Jackson the performer was outstanding...the consummate professional and his choreography out of this world!  Sadly his personal life is way outside what people see as normal and I think his childen's lives are bordering on serious child abuse.  Sad to see such a talent go haywire...his earlier stuff from the 70's and 80's is and always be a classic sadly I think that these days he will always just be remembered as a sad little freak with a penchant for young children.

Yesterday while on the stairs, I saw a Man who wasn't there.  He wasn't there again today...I wish that He would go away!!

hahahaha... how funny....

Jacko the public cross-dresser
October 12, 2006 10:00am

AS a means of disguise, it was hardly incognito. A sunhat hid Michael Jackson's face, but high-heels, women's jeans and handbag did little to aid his anonymity.

The 48-year-old singer made a typically flamboyant appearance in St Tropez during his latest trip abroad.

Jackson, who was acquitted on child-molestation charges last year, is currently holidaying on the French Riviera with his three young children.

The star is understood to be in the South of France as a guest of his friend and benefactor, Prince Alwaleed - a nephew of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd - on his private yacht, Kingdom 5KR.

After tottering through the backstreets of the exclusive coastal village, a weary-looking Jackson stopped off roadside for a little rest, and to shelter from the 28 degree heat.

Here, accompanied by the girl believed to be his 8-year-old daughter Paris, he petted an aide's dog and fiddled with his bright blue hat.

It is the first time that one of Jackson's children has been spotted out in public without a veil.

But in keeping with Jackson's love of the eccentric, Paris - full name Paris Michael Katherine Jackson - was dressed almost identically to her famous father.

Perhaps wisely, however, the youngster shunned the impracticability of heels, opting instead for far more comfortable flat-soled trainers.

Of course, Jackson is no stranger to women's clothes.

During a trip to Ireland earlier this year the singer, who has been staying with Bahrain's royal family since being acquitted, arrived at Cork airport under layers of effeminate scarves and drapes.

And in January he wore an abaya - traditional garb for Muslim women - in the Arab state of Bahrain where he has been based for the past 12 months.

But more embarrassingly, Jackson was reportedly found dressed as a woman, applying makeup in the ladies' toilet, during a recent shopping trip.

Speaking at the time, his spokesman claimed it was a simple mistake - Jackson was unable to read the Arabic sign saying 'Ladies'.

Jackson's holiday is thought to mark the end of his long-running legal battle with his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe over custody of their children Prince Michael, 9, and Paris, 8.

Although details of the settlement have not been made public yet, they are rumoured to contain the true parentage of his third child, four-year- old Prince Michael II, mysteriously nicknamed 'Blanket'.

Michael Jackson to marry his children’s nanny

The singer recently settled the custody battle with his ex-wife, and mother of his two eldest children, Debbie Rowe, and is now free to get on with wedding plans, according to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper.

Jackson, 48, is currently living in Ireland with 39-year-old nanny Grace Rwaramba who his children reportedly call “mum”.

The ‘Thriller’ singer’s former nurse Debbie Rowe is the mother of two eldest children, nine-year-old Prince Michael and eight-year-old Paris, and agreed to let him raise them when their marriage ended. But this year she claimed Jackson was an unfit parent and filed for custody of the kids.
Recently, however, Rowe, 48, agreed to let him keep Paris and Prince Michael in return for £400,000 a year.

Jackson also has a third child, four-year-old Prince Michael II, who he calls Blanket.

If he was an ordinary person he would go un-noticed and no-one would pay attention to what he did/does.

It is because of his genius with Music and dance that he is eccentric and very very strange. So clever at what he does, he is crazy. I don't think even he would classify for a lunatic asylum.

Michael Jackson to accept award

LONDON (Reuters) - Michael Jackson, a virtual recluse since his acquittal of child molestation charges in June, 2005, will make a rare public appearance at an awards ceremony in London next month, organizers said on Monday.

The U.S. pop star is due to receive the Diamond Award designed to honor artists who have sold more than 100 million albums. Previous recipients include Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi and Celine Dion.

The prize is part of the annual World Music Awards to be held at Earls Court on November 15. The awards are based purely on record sales, rather than popular votes or judges' panels. It will be his first public appearance in the UK for nine years.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the World Music Awards to London, the music capital of the world," said Melissa Corken, founder and executive producer of the awards. "The UK is the home of many of the world's greatest selling artists of all time. The presence of Michael Jackson is very exciting for us."

Jackson, 48, has spent time in Bahrain, Ireland and France since the child molestation case ended, and has said he planned to move to Europe in a bid to resurrect his musical career.

The awards coincide with the 25th anniversary of Jackson's groundbreaking album "Thriller," which has sold more than 40 million copies since its release in 1981.

U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan will be hosting the awards show, and Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli will be performing on the night.

Michael Jackson made his much-hyped return to the stage last night, and it turned out to be anything but thrilling. The singer appeared at the World Music Awards in London to accept the Diamond Award for selling more than 100 million albums worldwide -- but based on this evidence, he might be lucky to sell even one more from this point. The world's most squirm-inducing human being was rumored to be performing "Thriller" with British pop star Chris Brown, but ended up coming out for just a few perfunctory (and not terribly in-tune) bars of "We Are The World." With his ghostly complexion and voice even reedier and shriller than usual, Jacko strolled down the stage with a swarm of children, and then just stopped singing completely, so he could hug the young ones.
http://www.tmz.com/2006/11/16/jacko-tells-40-kids-start-givin/

.... Its a bit sad actually. I really do love Michaels music but I think his time has been and gone. Hes just gone a lil too odd in the last decade... seriously. Too far from the norm.

Michael Jackson marries kids' nanny
Print October 01, 2007 09:46am

CONTROVERSIAL singing superstar Michael Jackson has allegedly married his children's nanny.

The Thriller singer and 40-year-old Grace Rwaramba married in Las Vegas earlier this year, according to real estate documents.

One insider told The National Enquirer magazine: "Grace is one of his dearest friends. She is one of the few people who stood by his side through all of his problems - including the child molestation trial in 2005."

Jackson has been married twice before.

He wed Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley in 1994, but the pair divorced less than two years later.

In 1996, Jackson married his dermatologist's nurse Debbie Rowe, who is mother to his ten-year-old son Prince Michael Jackson II and nine-year-old daughter Paris, but the pair divorced in 1999.

The star also has another son - five-year-old Prince Michael Jackson III nicknamed "Blanket" - whose mother is not known.

The king of pop has recently been dividing his time between Ireland and Las Vegas and was rumoured to be planning a residency at a Las Vegas hotel.

Las Vegas entrepreneur Jack Wishna said: "I had Jackson on the telephone when he was in Ireland and he was very excited about working in Las Vegas.

"It even got down to the detail of a statue of himself that he wanted out front.

"He also came up with the idea of having his own slot machines. I have a signed contract that he wanted us to put together to market his slot machines in Europe and Asia."

In July, Jackson dropped his Las Vegas plans without any explanation.

Its a pity that no one has done a DNA test on those children! Michael Jackson thier father? I don't believe so.

What he has done to those children consititutes child abuse. Even if he is not a paedophile, the way he has raised them always masked, the weird names.

He may be  a great musician, but as a father he leaves a lot to be desired.

I doubt his new album is coming out any time soon. 'Invincible' was supposed to come out in 1999 and wasn't released until 2001.

The weird names? So names like Apple are not considered child abuse when Gwyneth Paltrow names her child that, lol. But no really, since when was Prince and Paris considered to be weird names? I know plenty of people with those names.

As a father no one can judge but his governess, his family and the children themselves. We don't live with them, how would we know how they live and how they are feeling? Everyone wants to play child protective services. Unless someone is a social worker and has interviewed them, I don't think anyone has any right to talk. Anyone who has met them has complimented them on their well behaved manners, politeness and Steve Harvey once commented that they don't act like little spoiled rich kids, and you know theres a whole lot of them. And I think its obvious they don't walk around their house with masks on . Only in public to not be recognized, which he apparently stopped doing now that they're older.

As for a DNA test, what does it matter? If he takes care of them and they are raised lovingly well, than he is the father. Do deadbeat dads constitute as fathers just because its "theirs"? For the record, Prince "Blanket" II seems to be the only one who looks like him. Look at pictures of MJ when he was around 6 years old and you can see the resemblance; her has his old nose, fuller lips, darker skin than the other two mostly because the surrogate's (according to Michael) was Black as well. Not dismaying mulatto children's appearance genetics, as his first two children's mother was White, mind you. Anything is possible. Look at Garcelle Beauvais' twins that were recently displayed. Both of them look completely white.

But Michael Jackson converting to islam makes all muslims pedophiles? I just can't see that becoming a stereotype.

Singer Michael Jackson 'dies'
Jackson was found unconscious at his home in Los Angeles by paramedics, reports said [AFP]

Pop singer Michael Jackson has died after suffering a heart attack, a US website has said.

Paramedics were unable to revive Jackson after receiving a call to his home in Los Angeles on Thursday, reported TMZ.com, a celebrity news website.

"We've just learned Michael Jackson has died ... Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him," TMZ reported.

"We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the report said.

There was no official confirmation of the reported death and spokespersons for Jackson could not be reached for comment.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department had earlier told The Los Angeles Times that paramedics responded to a call from an address corresponding to Jackson's at 12.21pm (2021 GMT).

Officials at the UCLA hospital, where Jackson is believed to have been taken, were not immediately available for comment.

Fortune At Stake On Michael Jackson Tour
June 25, 2009 - Touring

By Ray Waddell, Nashville

With more than $85 million already in the bank from ticket sales for 50 sold out shows at London's O2 Arena, what's on the line business-wise surrounding Michael Jackson can't be overstated.

The shows, which were to begin July 15, would be Jackson's first in 12 years. Producer/promoter AEG Live footed the bill for a $20 million production and, according to Billboard calculations, Jackson's take on ticket sales alone would be north of $50 million. The total ticket gross for the run would be about $90 million. Premium and VIP packages and secondary market sales will boost the gross to more than $100 million. Merchandise sales could bring in another $15 million.

AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told Billboard.biz on May 12 that his company was well-insured for the event. "We have one policy in place and we're negotiating for an even larger binder," said Phillips, who could not be immediately reached for comment regarding today's development. "We have insured the production costs. In order to get the first part of the insurance in place [Jackson] had to have a physical, and he passed it with flying colors."

Phillips continued, "Michael's in incredible physical shape, he's got tremendous stamina, he's been working out aerobically preparing for this, and he is totally engaged."

A great talent, a great performer, a great singer and dancer IMHO. I have not cried because I am still in shock and angry about what has transpired in my life in the past 10 days.

Just for the record... I have cried now. The shock has worn off and last night while watching some of the very best of his 'productions' I cried. Distasteful jokes will abound, like the old 'baby' jokes and the 'Dingo' jokes, all in bad taste IMHO.

The news is saying... MJ was bald, skeletal and had had 13 plastic surgeries.

Bald: obviously from the last footage of him announcing his tour of England recently. Blind freddy on a galloping horse could see that horrid hair was a wig

Skeletal: That too was as obvious to Blind Freddy from that same announcement by MJ. His face looked dreadful like a character out of 'Thriller'!

13 Plastic surgeries: of course he had that many, remember he was a black person once upon a time.

No matter what he looked like in the end, he was a genius at dance, entertainment and song IMHO. Like many people as gifted as he was, he was a bit left of centre in the end.

I'm not a huge fan of Michael but think he was a tremendous performer and I really liked his songs.

Reason why I say this is that I am cheesed off with these "critics" (so people with LESS talent who are just bitter they can't write their own music) saying that he's not comparable with John Lennon and does not deserve the accolade some people are giving him.  I'm sorry but the guy has the title of LARGEST RECORD SALES EVER (ie BEAT John Lennon/Beatles).  The Beatles/John Lennon (Paul McCartney) were of their era, Michael is of his era (I will even admit my age by saying of mine), and although his PERSONAL life led a lot to be desired I can separate out that out and say the world has lost a great artist/performer.

You can't blow up the world, that's where I keep my stuff (The Tic)

Jermaine Jackson fights for Neverland burial for Michael
By staff writers NEWS.com.auJuly 22, 2009 07:58am

JERMAINE Jackson is still pushing for his brother Michael to be laid to rest at Neverland, saying he shouldn't be buried with "bad people".

The 54-year-old singer told The Sun his family still can't agree on the issue, but said he would continue to fight a burial at Forest Lawn public cemetery in Los Angeles.

""The options are Neverland or the main cemetery in LA. I'm totally against the idea of a public cemetery. I just don't like it," he said.

"He's done so much to make the world special - and he needs to be somewhere special.

"He should be somewhere where it's safe and where he isn't sharing the ground with other people who are not good human beings. At those places they bury people who have done bad things in their life.

"Why should he be in the company of these bad people? He should be by himself. His world is Neverland."
He said Neverland was his choice because: "Any problems you had when you went there would go away.

"That's why I think it should be his final resting place. It's so wonderful and what he was about."

Jackson also told The Sun that the surviving members of the Jackson 5 would put on two memorial shows in London next month.

He will team up with Tito, Marlon and Jackie at London's O2 Arena on August 29 and 30.

I think MJ should be buried in a private area away from the general public but not for the same reasons stated in the story above.

Errrmmm I found that article by Jermaine Jackson a little disturbing..."bad people" are buried in public cemetaries?  I'm not sure all the families of the people buried there would think so.     I do however agree he should be buried in his own special place like Neverland which was what Michael would have wanted.

Yesterday while on the stairs, I saw a Man who wasn't there.  He wasn't there again today...I wish that He would go away!!

Jackson's death officially ruled a homicide
Article from: CARLY CRAWFORD
August 29, 2009 10:00am

PROSECUTORS are considering criminal charges over Michael Jackson's death after a coroner found two drugs killed the superstar.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office yesterday released its autopsy findings, ruling Jackson's death a homicide and confirming the knock-out drug Propofol, or Diprivan, as the main cause.

"The manner of death has been ruled homicide," the office said in a statement.

"Cause of death was established as acute Propofol intoxication.

"Another sedative Lorazepam, or Ativan, had also contributed.

"The drugs Propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr Jackson's death."

A raft of other drugs were found in Jackson's system including Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine, and Ephedrine, which can be used to prevent low blood pressure during anaesthesia.

Preliminary autopsy results last week revealed "lethal levels" of Propofol had been found in the singer's blood.

Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray told police he had given the singer Propofol, Ativan, Midazolam and Valium, also known as Diazepam, in the hours before he died.

News Limited this week reported that over six and half hours on June 25, Dr Murray had given Jackson Valium and two hits each of Ativan and the sedative Midazolam to help him sleep.

The pop star demanded Propofol four hours later, according to the doctor's statements to police.

Dr Murray administered that drug, which Jackson called his "milk", after diluting it with the dental anaesthetic Lidocaine.

Under California law, homicide means another person was involved in the death. It does not necessarily mean premeditated murder, but court papers show Dr Murray is the target of a police manslaughter probe.

Dr Murray has denied any wrongdoing.

The Los Angeles Police Department has referred the case to prosecutors for possible criminal charges, but says its investigation into the star's death is ongoing.According to police documents, officers found an array of drugs by Jackson's bedside and a stash of marijuana in his home.

Jackson to get posthumous Grammy
Posted 2 hours 15 minutes ago

Michael Jackson next month will receive a posthumous Grammy for lifetime achievement, organisers of the music industry's top awards said.

Jackson won 13 Grammys and scored 17 number one singles in the United States and his 1982 Thriller album is the highest-selling of all time...

Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray to be charged with death
From: NewsCore January 29, 2010 11:55PM

Dr Conrad Murray could be charged "as early as next week" over the death of pop legend Michael Jackson.

TMZ reported today that Murray hired Hollywood lawyer J. Michael Flanagan earlier this month in expectation he would be charged with involuntary manslaughter, for administering the sedative propofol to Jackson.

Flanagan said he was "probably the only attorney in town that has successfully tried a propofol case involving death."

Jackson, whose album Thriller is still the best-selling record of all time, died aged 50 after suffering cardiac arrest.

He was reportedly administered drugs such as propofol and antianxiety medicine lorazepam, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County coroner.

The case against Murray was expected to be complicated in part because the doctor did not break any laws in administering propofol, often used to relax people and put them to sleep before surgical procedures.
