Michael Jackson Is Working on New Album

LONDON -- Michael Jackson has returned to the studio and plans to release a new album next year for a record label owned by the son of Bahrain's king.

2 Seas Records, which is owned by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, said Tuesday it had signed an exclusive recording agreement with Jackson, and the new album was tentatively scheduled for release in late 2007.

Jackson, 47, moved to the Gulf state soon after being acquitted of child molestation charges in California last year. The 33-island archipelago is about the size of Rhode Island.

"I am incredibly excited about my new venture and I am enjoying being back in the studio making music," Jackson said in a statement released in London on behalf of the Bahrain-based record label.

The label _ which is due to release Jackson's long-promised Hurricane Katrina benefit single, "I Have This Dream" _ said British music executive Guy Holmes had been named chief executive of the company. It said Holmes would oversee the making of the new album "and the management of Michael's other business interests."

Jackson has been plagued by financial problems since his trial.

Last month, he closed the house on his 2,600-acre Neverland Ranch estate in California, laying off most of the staff after agreeing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in back wages to avoid a lawsuit by state labor officials.

Last week, he agreed to restructure his finances in a deal with Sony Corp., which shares ownership with Jackson of a valuable music catalog that includes the Beatles.

No details of that agreement were released, but earlier published reports said Jackson was negotiating a debt refinancing plan that would save him from bankruptcy but take away part of his share of the catalog.

agree 100%...most people just see him as this accused paedophile who dangles his kids from tall buildings and has plastic surgery every 5 minutes...but people should just focus on what he has achieved and that he's one of the greastest ever singers and musicians to have lived...

The problem with Michael Jackson is that he is a musical genius and everything he did/does is scrutinised (by the media) and like many people with so much talent in their chosen field, he is eccentric and seen as bizzare. I love him as an artist. His video clips are sensational and his music is unforgettable. He is brilliant IMHO. The media are like a dog with a bone when it comes to 'Odd' famous people. Michael Jackson being one, Tom Cruise being another.

I love michael songs... i'm having an 80's party soon and I swear i've sooo many michael hits ready to play (along with the a complete remix of all his songs) he has sooo many hits!

Recently Video Hits showed how much he is still loved by Australians by having almost all of his releases in the top 100 as voted by aussies themselves. Thriller coming in at number one!

I love him.. he just needs to not be in his filmclips anymore and go back to the songs he made prior to 2000 ... he looks too weird now. and we're reminded of his weird antics by looking at him. so yeah, no to being in film clips and yes to making music like that prior to 2000!

sooooo odd!

Paris, France :: Protected by a huge blue umbrella, 47-year-old Michael Jackson (dressed in his pajamas?) left Jardin des Plantes -- the main botanical garden in France -- in a wheelchair earlier this month. Bodyguards hugged Michael Jackson's three children (whose faces were covered with masks) on their way out -- 9-year-old Prince Michael Jackson I, 8-year-old Paris Jackson, and 4-year-old Prince Michael Jackson II.  (http://www.justjared.com/gossip/2006/06/michael-jackon-visits-paris-garden/)

sooo weird!

These kids must just have the most screwed up childhood ever! not only do they have to deal with creepy photographers all day but handed from bodyguard to bodyguard - running around like chooks with their heads cut off - living such secluded lives - day after day all while they wear masks and have michael jackson as their father (god knows what their interaction would be like with him and I'm not even referring to any of the allegations). Why is he wearing pjs outside of the house?! and a wheelchair? I cannot wait for these poor kids to be 21 and look back on it - hear them speak - see if they're anywhere close to normal?!

Michael Jackson sued by ex-wife
Thursday Jul 13 12:05 AEST

Debbie Rowe, the former Mrs Michael Jackson, has sued the pop singer, claiming he has failed to pay her what he promised when the two divorced in 1999.

In the lawsuit, filed July 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Rowe seeks an immediate payment of $US195,000 ($A259,446.51) for attorney fees and $US50,000 ($A66,524.75) in living expenses so that she can continue pursuing her child-custody case against him.

The next court hearing on the matter is slated for July 26.

Rowe is the mother of Jackson's two children, Prince Michael Joseph Jackson, 9, and Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, 8. She gave up her parental rights to the children in 2001 but asked a judge to reinstate them in 2003 after she learned of Jackson's arrest on child molestation charges.

Rowe says in the lawsuit that Jackson stopped making his promised payments to her in October 2003.

Jackson agreed when they divorced to pay his ex-wife $US1 ($A1.33) million a year for the first three years after their split and $US750,000 ($A997,871.21) annually for six more years. Rowe also received a house in Beverly Hills and a 1998 Ford Explorer. She agreed to visit her children only once every 45 days, according to the lawsuit.

Jackson maintained ownership of his Neverland Ranch and two adjacent properties in Santa Barbara, California, other residential and commercial properties, plus a fleet of vehicles that includes two fire trucks, three vintage Rolls Royces, four tractors and nine golf carts.

I have been downloading all of Michael's Music Video clips. He is such a wonderful entertainer. His clips were like a movie. One of them, 'Bad', goes for over 16 minutes for the full length version. I think 'Smooth Criminal' would have to be in my top 3 favourites. Beautifully choreographed. Michael is a perfectionist when it comes to his art. I think in 'real life' Michael is off with the fairies though. I still love him though, as odd as he is.

Michael Jackson the performer was outstanding...the consummate professional and his choreography out of this world!  Sadly his personal life is way outside what people see as normal and I think his childen's lives are bordering on serious child abuse.  Sad to see such a talent go haywire...his earlier stuff from the 70's and 80's is and always be a classic sadly I think that these days he will always just be remembered as a sad little freak with a penchant for young children.

Yesterday while on the stairs, I saw a Man who wasn't there.  He wasn't there again today...I wish that He would go away!!

hahahaha... how funny....

Jacko the public cross-dresser
October 12, 2006 10:00am

AS a means of disguise, it was hardly incognito. A sunhat hid Michael Jackson's face, but high-heels, women's jeans and handbag did little to aid his anonymity.

The 48-year-old singer made a typically flamboyant appearance in St Tropez during his latest trip abroad.

Jackson, who was acquitted on child-molestation charges last year, is currently holidaying on the French Riviera with his three young children.

The star is understood to be in the South of France as a guest of his friend and benefactor, Prince Alwaleed - a nephew of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd - on his private yacht, Kingdom 5KR.

After tottering through the backstreets of the exclusive coastal village, a weary-looking Jackson stopped off roadside for a little rest, and to shelter from the 28 degree heat.

Here, accompanied by the girl believed to be his 8-year-old daughter Paris, he petted an aide's dog and fiddled with his bright blue hat.

It is the first time that one of Jackson's children has been spotted out in public without a veil.

But in keeping with Jackson's love of the eccentric, Paris - full name Paris Michael Katherine Jackson - was dressed almost identically to her famous father.

Perhaps wisely, however, the youngster shunned the impracticability of heels, opting instead for far more comfortable flat-soled trainers.

Of course, Jackson is no stranger to women's clothes.

During a trip to Ireland earlier this year the singer, who has been staying with Bahrain's royal family since being acquitted, arrived at Cork airport under layers of effeminate scarves and drapes.

And in January he wore an abaya - traditional garb for Muslim women - in the Arab state of Bahrain where he has been based for the past 12 months.

But more embarrassingly, Jackson was reportedly found dressed as a woman, applying makeup in the ladies' toilet, during a recent shopping trip.

Speaking at the time, his spokesman claimed it was a simple mistake - Jackson was unable to read the Arabic sign saying 'Ladies'.

Jackson's holiday is thought to mark the end of his long-running legal battle with his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe over custody of their children Prince Michael, 9, and Paris, 8.

Although details of the settlement have not been made public yet, they are rumoured to contain the true parentage of his third child, four-year- old Prince Michael II, mysteriously nicknamed 'Blanket'.

I just don't know what to think of this guy anymore! I used to think he was nuts, but this... this is beyond crazy! He has some serious issues! And those poor kids, I just hope they grow up normal.
