I like watching when Jay Leno goes onto the street & speaks to the average person in North America & it makes you feel so much better about your own country

Comedy gold!!

I used to be a huge Leno fan but don't have the time to watch him these days. Try and catch Letterman most nights though if there is a guest or segment I am interested in.

Jay Leno is like that sleazy uncle, compared to David Letterman... & he loves telling the same stories about himself, being arrested for vagrancy & having the car he and his wife first made love in etc

Leno irritates me. It was a crime that Letterman didn't get TTS after Johnny retired. Still we got TLS so it aint that bad & Dave perhaps gets more freedom at CBS then he did at NBC.

Have you seen the Late Show Wars television movie?  Puts an interesting perspective on the whole scenario, especially with Johnny wanting David...

=====================

I think the Senator did himself a world of good by telling the truth when he sat down with David... didn't mind the rest of the interview

John McCain's appearance on CBS's Late Show With David Letterman Thursday produced the show's biggest audience in almost three years. According to Nielsen figures, it drew 6.53 million viewers, beating NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which attracted 4.57 million.

Saw it awhile ago and it's very interesting. I also remember Dave grumbling about how it portrayed him as a fruit loop.

with red hair, throwing baseball after baseball at an archery target...

What is really interesting is when one of the people from the movie come on his show to publicise another movie or TV program, you can see the underlying tension

I am still wondering how Papa Bear survives that sex scandal from a couple of years back, considering he is such a Conservative right-wing hypocrite

Definitely watching tonight.  I have to see how Colbert gets on with Letterman.  And I noticed the slight dig at McCain (because of the cancelled visit).  He must have cancelled pretty late for Dave to keep going on about it.

Be interesting to see the Letterman/O'Brien battle results

Jungle Jack was excellent entertainment as usual. I was in stitches when Dave was trying to throw the grapes to the monkey.

Well at least he had the round things to turn up later (though I missed most of that one).  I am guessing that the DAYS you show are US dates as Katie was on last night.  You would think that of all the time he's been on people would know what he's like.  She looked quite uncomfortable at times and they weren't even talking about her (Palin questions).

I certainly think Letterman has the better interviews now.  Leno is turning in to JUST an info mercial and then guests bugger off.

I will say it again... Jay Leno comes across as your sleazy uncle

, constantly reverting to the cheapness of sexual innuendo whereas Letterman is more interested in the person & getting them to reveal and talk about interesting things... all of the ratings surveys have proven that Letterman's audience is of a higher calibre both intellectually and affluently

Jungle Jack... when David told him the children's joke about eating kangaroo & he was in stitches laughing
