Not really sure if Mr. Letterman will be making an appearance on Monday because of the following
Rookie driver killed in crash on Florida trackAssociated PressHOMESTEAD, Fla. - Paul Dana was an up-and-coming rookie driver living his dream, a former motor sports journalist who was hours away yesterday from beginning his most promising season yet. Then, before the green flag flew, something went terribly, inexplicably wrong. While streaking around the Homestead-Miami Speedway oval during a warm-up session for the Toyota Indy 300, Dana failed to notice that another car had spun to a stop, and slammed into it at close to 200 m.p.h. Two hours after his shattered car came to a rest, Dana, 30, was pronounced dead at a hospital. "Obviously, this is a very black day for us," team owner Bobby Rahal said. "This is a great tragedy." Dana believed he had finally gotten his big break in the months before the season-opening IRL IndyCar Series race here. He had secured a ride with the elite Rahal Letterman Racing team - which fields IRL phenom Danica Patrick and Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist
US chat show host David Letterman has paid tribute to Indy Racing driver Paul Dana after the 30-year-old was killed during a pre-race rally in Florida on Sunday. Dana, who was part of the TV star's team Rahal Letterman, drove into a disabled car at high speed and was killed shortly after. In a statement, stunned Letterman says, "Paul Dana's passing is a tragedy and I want to express my condolences and sympathies to his family and friends. We are deeply saddened by his passing at such a young age."
It was another example of Mr. Letterman coming through in the time when a true gentleman is able to step up & speak for those that cannot. He did exactly the same thing in his first show back after the world trade center attack. He is truly a scholar and a gentleman.
