Rove needs to get rid of the crap. It's not funny. The Backstreet boys thing, the video links, making fun of people in the newspaper. It's just not funny. He only interviewed three groups of people on Tuesday. He used to do at least 6. We (or at least I) want to see interviews, and with Aussies, not americans.
No to the new look, and no to the whole show. Rove's running out of chances and so are Channel Ten. |

...now if 9 would just send Bert to the retirement home he belongs in... and maybe 7 could jump on board and send that horrible Darryl Somers along with him! Or at least please please please don't let him sing again!!! As for Rove, he trying too hard to make a comedy show, with all those not funny sketches... He is quite witty, but that comes across best when he's not trying so hard to be funny. He needs more interviews as that's what draws people to watching that type of show - to see their favourite stars chatting about their lives. Less (not)"funny" crap, more interviews Rove. |

I watched a bit of the 2006 premiere, and just what was "new" exactly, apart from the boring new set? Nothing. Still the same boring Rove Live crap. I stopped watching 10 minutes into the show. *yawn* |

Last night's show just proved to me that Rove's lost his touch. His idea of entertainment seems to involve being rude to as many people as he can. Prank-calling? Please, that was lame. Watching him confuse the hell out of some poor live-lister while rambling on about buckets isn't entertaining.
He stumbled a bit too when he was interviewing Harrison Ford. It was obvious that Ford was thinking "Who is this idiot?" from the moment he stepped out. I thought it was funny when Ford kept interrupting Rove while he was trying to ask his silly true-or-false questions.
Time for Rove to step-aside and let some new talent come forward. |

I don't like the way he's doing an Oprah and cutting people off when their trying to answer his stupid questions. And what's with Pete putting his 20 cents in, in the middle of an interview? I think Rove needs to get back to basics. |

Actually, last night was better than last week, and I found the telephone game to be very funny.
You also have to remeber that Harrison Ford is a very difficult person to interview. |

I agree,h ford is a tough interviewee, even letterman has a tough time with him. he's a prickly customer so give rove a break.
i think rove is coming to grips with losing corinne, the new set/format et al,but hopefully will hit his stride soon.

Rove is new? looked much like the old I thought. Peter Hellyer is very funny and there should be more of him. Maybe they could call it the Pete Hellyer live show.
Last year when they got people to turn their lights on and off and stuff or get out in the street, that was funny. The phone thing was pretty good too, but I bet he knew where the "hang up" note was. Wouldn't be too funny if that came up first or second or even third - tenth now would it?
Harrison Ford is a bit boring these days, but I actually heard him being interviewed on radio by Kyle & Jackie O in the morning, and he actually said a few funny things, so maybe there is life in there somewhere, it just needs to be drawn out.
Mary-Kate & Ashley - now they need a complete personality transplant. Guests like that could kill a show. |

Rove was really good last night, suprisingly. It was excellent actually which is something that like never happens with Rove Live. He was funny, instead of being his usual self, he was a little different, and I think it payed off. |

I really haven't watched an entire show since Corinne Grant left. Something seems to be missing from the mix now and I think it's her. Rove does seem a little more hyper with an air of desperation sometimes. Still a good show though and would hate to see it end. |

I dont know if something was dif but it was GREAT! but I love rove ... its like a must in this household to have the channel/s on rove live. hes such a great host, interviewer and comedian. He seems to have come back down to the rove he was when he started... maybe thats it. there was a point he got a lil too high n mighty for the aussie public (lol koshi style) but I love him!! |

So I wasn't the only one that noticed that. He seemed a lot more relaxed yesterday. Like he was just in a really good mood. There was no smugness in him yesterday either. Even during his phone segment, he was kind to the guy on the phone, and didn't slam the phone down at the end of the conversation like he usually does. |

I thought it was agreat show, except for some of the stuff he was eating. That was gross when he had stuff coming out of his mouth. What a coup to get Rihanna tho. She is excellent. Bet she wont do a small show like that in a couple of years |

Perhaps producers read forums like this and see how the shows can be improved? Actually, that's more like wishful thinking. lol. He could have been in a good mood for all sorts of reasons. The immediate thing I thought of is a little dirty so I won't share that, or maybe he's just trying to show the public that he isn't arrogant, maybe he's insecure about losing the gold logie this year, or MAYBE i'm overthinking this |

I think the emphasis away from big name satellite interviews to more raw comedy is paying off. Rove's strength is his ability to be himself and make a wacka out of himself, and that shone through on Tuesday night. Even his interview with both Rebecca Gibney and Michael were natural and engaging.
The production values are - as always - very good, but especially recently. The zooming over to the band of the week and the small things like transitions and the way the program goes to credits, it's all put together really well.
Anyway, good to see Rove Live on a roll.. |

ROVE IS SO NOT FUNNY. He is crap now, he fills the time slots with stupid comedy and repeats jokes untill you think wtf! example- the drummer skit, funny first time round, boring second time. And wtf with that stupid Dr Phil impression by peter, if he wants more air time then he should get a show of his own. I would also like to lash out at his sh*tty intro that he does, he is not funny, he needs to get a professional to write his material i mean last week he craped on about the Davinci Code for like 5 minutes....boring . I will give him a break on guest as he really dosn't have much control ones from the U.S. but there are plenty of aussie(as you guys have been saying) that I would to see interviewed. Also things that need attention: What the?.... Omg a seashell that looks like Australia, com---mon!!!, pranking people... funny once never again, impressions of john howard - a least make it watchable. There are so many hosts in america that make their shows intresting like letterman and elle, im not saying be like america but rove really needs to get a professional in to: - write his material - moderate stupid skits objectivly - organise his show so if flows better - find interesting guests and have interesting discussions or get a new host(no not peter). TEN YOU SITTING ON THE CRAPPER ABOUT TO FALL IN |

Sounds like your problem is more with Peter than Rove. I've always found Peter to be the funnier of the two. His jokes are predictable, but it's all about the delivery with him. |

I think those little things in the middle like pete interupting during an interview are good, once. Rove wastes to much time with crappy little gags rather then interesting stuff. And yes i don't like pete. When i was talking about letterman i ment that his show was 80% interviews 20% crap. Rove however, is more like 50% interviews and 50% crap. There is to much crap and his guest suck!!! |

Well, humour is very subjective, but personally I like the direction Rove is going, especially in the absence of much other Australian comedy. I thought those bits with Bob Geldoff were pretty good. Never seen Bob do anything like that before. |

I thought Rove's interview with Jennifer Aniston was boring. I loved the Chris Isaak moments! Very funny guy. I also liked the classic art segment where famous paintings had a line or two. My favourite was Munch's 'Scream' -- "Sh*t! Where are my ears!?"

Last night was hillarious!
I loved Adam Sandler and Katie on the show. They were so funny. How great was Katie's facial expression when she actually thought she was going to really talk to Jamie from the studio to the house!
And Rove immitating him was great "like like i like totally miss you katie" It was "like" so funny to watch.
I forgot the singer's name at the end but he had a great voice...except I assume he's just going to be the next Jesse Mcartney.
How excited was that assistant! Lol, he was like shaking but it was so funny to watch Rove harrass the hell out of him.
Rove just keeps getting better! |
