No because Paula's says "Live long and prosper..."
Your's says "Live Long and Prosper! ; )"

These are cleary differant.  Paula's leaves the impression that there is either still something unexpressed because it has elipses.
Yours has and exclamation mark and a winky implying excitement and frienliness.
They are both very differant.
I feel that I should point out that no self respecting Vulcan would use either sentance.
Saying it with the implication of something left unexpressed shows that there is emotion involved.  If a Vulcan had decided at the last minute not to say something, it would leave the other party confused and the most logical thing to do, out of politeness, would then be to clear up that confusion by stating what it was and why it was deemed irrelevant... agreement would then be logically reached, unless of course the Vulcan's most logical response was to lie and they cut their sentance short in order to omit information, but Vulcans are so logical that they are excellent liars and this would never happen.
Saying it with any kind of exclamation implies emotion as does winking.  Unless the Vulcan was attempting to mimic emotion, this wouldn't happen.  I suppose Paula's version could also happen if the Vulcan was trying to mimic emotion as well.  Either way, this would be a rare occurance indeed... I mean we are dealing with the original series here, not The Next Generation where the emotionless charactor was Data, in which case emulating emotion would be pretty beleivable.
Since it is the first series, and Spock was actually a half Vulcan and occasionaly showed emotion, both possiblilities become more likely, but not very, and even still, the point is that both of you can tell each other to live long and prosper all you want and aren't copying each other because you're copying someone else and more so because you aren't Vulcan.

That was quite possibly the second most useless thing I've posted.

I'm not gonna disagree with you there MD (primarily because I don't believe in the existance of Vulcans...self respecting or otherwise)but I gotta ask .... you know it's coming...if that's the second most useless what's the most useless?

Cheers, BSquared

Thank you Simpson and Norman. Yeah, growing up. I spose the pics will last til I am almost 50, being since I am 50 now. My favourite ages were between 24 and 29. I was fittest and most healthy then. I was also very very happy... and single. Oh my. Marriage has never agreed with me. Both times! Love does though, I love love.
Where was the shark at antony in your avatar?

Since my avatar changes all the time i should do an update!

My current one reflects my quasi-hippy philosophy of life and my obsession with 60's flower power/psychedelic music & culture.
