I had to laugh when I saw the TEN's promo for this show tonight.
Marking it as a major new drawcard show for the network.

While the show was good, CBS canned it after airing only 8 episodes, just as it was starting to get really interesting. Hardly what you would want for a major drawcard show; unless they plan to air all 13 episodes that were made.

Reality is for those who can not handle Science Fiction.

Don't concern yourself as to whether the promos don't look that good or that the stupid network supervisers pulled the show. IT IS a fabulous show. It had me hooked from the first 10 minutes. If you love Sci-Fi and anything to do with Alien invasions watch this show. It will not disappoint. I have gotten right into the characters and the story line. The entire premise of this show is brilliant. I have seen 9 episodes of the series which is how many have been shown in the US. There were 14 episodes slated.

This is a blurb:
For the uninitiated, THRESHOLD deals with a super-secret government group set-up after an alien device infects humans and alters their DNA. The infected humans are infiltrating society, contaminating others as they pursue a mysterious alien agenda. It stars Carla Gugino (Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey), Rob Benedict (Lucas Pegg), Brian Van Holt (Sean Cavennaugh), Brent Spiner (Dr. Nigel Fenway), Charles S. Dutton (J.T. Baylock) and Peter Dinklage (Dr. Arthur Ramsey).

and this comment off the net:

Sorry, Brannon Braga: You had me on your side, but your Threshold just couldnt lure viewers. So it went on hiatus, probably to be canceled soon.

I dont understand why: Threshold, far superior to the beast-in-the-water Surface (which NBC picked up), had perhaps the best dramatic cast on television, with Carla Gugino, Peter Dinklage, Charles S. Dutton and the always-dandy Brent Spiner.

The good news, I guess, is that they shouldnt have trouble finding work.

Threshold will keep you rivetted and thoroughly entertained this summer and far better to watch than anything else the TV programmers can throw up at you.

Another exerpt from another site says:
CBS canceled the science-fiction series Threshold, which plunged in the ratings when it was moved from Fridays to Tuesdays. The show it switched places with, Close to Home, surged in the ratings when it was moved from Tuesdays to Fridays and was given a full-season order.

Thrashold is a piece of junk & Braga is the biggest hack around, with back-to-back show failures and the valiant effort he put into destroying Star Trek he should be slapped senseless

If you liked the X-files but wanted to see it without the interetsing characters watch thrashold and for further evidence on what a moron braga is check out the 'final' episode of Enterprise "These are the voyages".

My advice.... watch the first episode of Threshold for yourself and make up your own minds. Everyone is different and something you may rave about someone else may hate... so watch it and get back to us here.

I'd like to give it a try considering i love anything to do with aliens/etc. But considering it's been cancelled already ill get hooked then bang its over.Pity cause it had brent spiner in it. A new series for next year called invasion looks good as well if you like that kind of stuff. And RE: braga he did some great stuff with trek,he took up NG when roddenberry died and DS9 is one of the finest sci-fi shows ever. Voyager and enterprise were also excellent though not as good as NG/DS9. And about the finale i haven't seen it as they haven't started S4 yet but from what ive read a lot of the cast members were unhappy with it. It was probably a poor idea to bring back NG cast members for the finale.

I watched the first 8 eps.. and while I agree, the first ep had me hooked totally.. by the eighth ep it was losing me. The plot was good, I liked it. I loved the actors... but it started dragging on. It moved tooooo slowly.

That said, I wish it hadnt been cancelled. Be nice to see an entire season before they cancel things. Actually give the show a chance to pick up viewers ;p

But then again, Im one of those people that thinks BB ruined trek. So it doesnt suprise me that it didnt last.

either way, it amuses me that 10 and other stations are pimping the heck out cancelled shows. be interesting to see how many eps we see.

I think you're getting confused with the late Michael Piller who became Exec producer of TNG as of season 3 and greatly changed it away from a "alien of the week" show much like TOS, into a real drama in space that dealt more with the people on the ship. Braga did very little on that series not in partnership with Ron D Moore & he was not part of DS9.

Season 4 of Enterprise also showed how good the series could be without his (and berman's) "input"!

I guess im one of those who think highly of all the trek series and don't buy into the whole bagging of braga/berman thing. Enterprise was a little hit and miss in the first two seasons i admit but NG was pretty bad early on. S3 of Ent was excellent however. And braga was a producer/writer on NG and actually wrote the brilliant finale all good things as well as first contact. So he did some great stuff for trek as well as the bad.
Also saw an ad for another sci-fi show called supernatural which looks good, apparently done by the xfiles director,im hoping they mean cc.

Thank co-executive producer many coto for much of season 3, and all of season 4 appart from the shocking ending (hi Rick & Brannon). Again his early writting was a collaboration with RDM, who's series has been picked up for season three despite only 1/2 of season 2 being screened so far.

You can really spot Braga's solo work in Voyager, "lets just bring the Borg in again and have 1 ship whip em again even though in other shows a whole fleet has trouble with them. And can we get something tighter for my girlfriend to wear on camera as well!!"

I know opinion is strangely divided but braga is so close to talentless we might as well just say he is

Ill leave the last word on this subject to the late michael piller who said of brannon braga...
"When it was time for me to leave Trek, I knew that we had strong, creative people in place like Brannon to maintain the quality that Roddenberry demanded of us all. I think Gene would have been proud of Brannon and of Enterprise."
Now if we can just rename this thread...

I watched this show last night and thought it was excellent. It's almost like a step up from Surface. Can't wait for Thursday's episode.

Great blog going on here. I thought Threshold was excellent. I was really excited when I sae Brent Spiner. (I'm a Trekkie also) I do love anything sci fi and I have started watching Surface, and also the shorts for Supernatural look good. I'll be watching that.  Invasion also looks good. Smallville, Charmed, lets have non-ratings all the time!
