A newly married young bloke asked me the other day if I was married and is it worth it? I told him heck yeah, I'm going on 15 years now with 2 boys, 2 dogs and my wife is still my best friend! Guess I got lucky
Have been engaged to my beautiful man for nearly 10 years. In no rush at all to get married since we are "married" in every other sense of the word except on paper. Engaged only to please our parents really. We met online and we are best friends and soul mates. He has been married before so came with 3 children who I love and adore and who now all live with us. Life has had its ups and downs but at least it has never been boring lol. We fight, we make up and even though we each have little quirks that annoy each other, we don't stress it. Both our parents have been married 40 - 50 years so I guess they set the standard for us both. My partners divorce wounded him deeply as he expected to be married forever but their biggest problem was lack of communication. She never talked to him about stuff but did things behind his back. I think our success lies behind our ability to talk about everything. We have NO secrets at all. Our friends always laugh at us when they ask one of us to make a decision and one of us always says "let me talk it over with my partner first". I think it's just a sign of respect and valuing the other's opinion. That doesn't mean we always agree on things. We argue all the time over things and often disagree. But in the end both of us put our case forward, we compromise and come to a decision that way. Oh and we still have the lust for each other after 10 years lol...results in the kids always having to say "Oh will you guys get a room" lol. We just love to touch each other even in passing and we always kiss when either one of us is leaving the side of the other. That one even amuses our parents. We did it on Christmas Day and mum was like "where is he going?" thinking he was going home or something and I said he's just going downstairs for a minute.
Ok I'm rambling lol. Stopping now.
Yesterday while on the stairs, I saw a Man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today...I wish that He would go away!!

Back on topic, I've never been in a relationship. Although I have been in love with the same girl for almost 5 years now, and she has no idea (Good lord I hope she doesn't ). With that said I can't see myself pursuing a relationship anytime soon.

I don't think that I'm being so protective. I agree with SuziH that it has to stop, it's just that in my opinion, normangerman starts it.
Yes, it's an open discussion, but nobody should have the right to bring information about other members into the conversation. If somebody wants a discussion about them, them they should be the one to initiate it.

OMG I just copied to paste in 'Sillygostly' and I thought your name Sillyghost for this entire time I've seen your name here. Anyhow, I was just looking at your profile, and you're 17 which means that you're screwed... in a few years you're going to be pressured into drinking large amounts of alcohol and it will be fun sometimes but you'lle also be pressured into persuing lots of slutty sexual relationships in a drunken nervousness. I only read a handful of threads despite being on the server often so can't really comment because I wasn't aware of this still being ongoing with Antony and Norman's but I'll still comment about the comment anyway and say that unless he was defending himself in general from elsewhere then I don't see it as very good either but at the same time, can't someone also just have a bad day? Or a silly day or not have gotten enough sleep?
