I am so so very happy and excited for you, lurveit! I pick up the keys to my little place on Friday the 16th! My daughter doesn't return from NSW until 22nd or 23rd so I am staying here at her beautiful home until 24th. I am hiring a small delivery van to drive myself and take the odds and ends from here on Monday 19th. Phone is getting connected that day also and only costing $29.00 On wednesday 21st furniture comes out of storage and gets delivered to new address. Home contents insurance kicks in that day also@$24.pm for $60k worth of coverage. Electricity account starts on the Friday 23rd as does my ADSL acc. I am so organised it is scary My little unit would probably fit inside your entertainment area, lurveit! I am excited though and can't wait to be once again settled into my own home and this time starting off as a single lady with an empty nest May your new home bring you and your baby/dog much happiness! |

Better watch out for stray cuckoo's, Suzi, they have a habit of flying in and laying eggs in new nests...... |

Lurveit... electricity.... call your supplier (mine is still Energex your's may be Ergon) tell them when you want them to 'turn it off' at the old place and 'on' at the new place. Technically though they do not come around and turn anything on/off! They do a reading of the meters. You are responsible for your electricity and phone connections/disconnections. Getting mates to help move your furniture is a good/cheap way to go but if you have stuff of great value or large items that need care installing in the new place it is always better to get professionals IMO. Anything your mates damage has to be fixed or replaced. My Bond was $660. and my 2 weeks in advance from Friday 16th was $330. I drove past the unit today and workmen were there and the owner was there all busily getting it nicer for me to live in A new beginning for at least three of us here on the forum, hey Simpson! I'll keep a look out for those cuckoos you mention LB.... hope my friend with benefits starts seeing me again then, I miss him. Oh and me Norman... same suburb I used to live in, Maroochydore and like lurveit, just a few streets away from my old place Have been in Buderim with my daughter since 15th February and living up Buderim Mountain costs too much in fuel! Back down to almost sea level for me. Maroochy River 100 meters away, Maroochy Waters canal 50 meters. Lovely area. |
