pfft.. gold goast doesnt get the right to be a city!! Brisbane rules this state thank you very much... UNLESS - we're the capital city and.. Gold coast is another city within our state ... so, does that make queensland the FIRST state to have more than one city to its name!    .. sounds good!! FIRST STATE OF AUSTRALIA to own TWO cities.. o yeh, o yeh,  lol..

Anyway, I'm going house hunting today - ... I hate it already - don't they say moving is the worst thing you can do in life ... or something like that?!

... because I'm quickly learning it to be so!

oh! and my dog is a clean and tidy dog thanks Norm.. he poops outside in his known 'area' ... train your dogs you lazy people. IF he comes inside (because of bad weather or whatever the case) he's put into the laundry which has a child gate up to keep him in there so he doesn't scratch the polished floors or anything.. but yes, he's a clean dog that doesnt kill birds or dig up backyards and I can understand a landlords point of view to not want to have dogs in there rental property BUT as a dog owner IF I let a property out - I would without a doubt allow my home to also be a home for somebodys poor pooch!

Some people are by far worse than any dog could be.  I had some people rent a house from me with glowing references, with 2 weeks the place was a tip.  It took me 4 months to get then out, then another $2000 to clean it up to sell.  I would never be a landlord again.......

Every State has more than one city, but not more than ONE Capital City. I have lived in Orange NSW (a City) and Tamworth NSW (also a city) I have lived on the Central Coast NSW which is all connected like up here on the Sunny Coast. In Queensland we have now learnt that the Gold Coast is a City, Rockhampton, Cairns, Toowoomba are all cities but Brisbane is the Capital City of Queensland. I thought that for a 'town' to gain city status it had to have a population of over, say.... 30 000  or 35 000.

As far as moving goes... it is up there with a death in the family and divorce on a scale of stressful situations, I have heard. Having just moved temporarily in with my daughter and having to move again in the not too distant future, I can testify to the level of stress it creates. That is why I hire removalists and hire a cleaning crew/company to do a 'Bond' clean on the premises I have vacated. I have had 2 divorces, one the same year as my Father died (3 years ago). In Queensland alone I have moved 5 times in 13 years. The last place I lived I had spent 6 years exactly in and I was very sad to leave my beautiful rental home. Wait until you are older lurveit and have accumulated so much furniture and crap that it is a 'mission' to move. This last move I kept a third of my belongings, sold a third and gave 'Lifeline' the rest that was useful, and made two trips to the tip in my car.

Every State has more than one city

haha .. i had no clue   I thought each australian state had one city ... that we we're only big enough to have one city and it just happened to also double as the states capital city... fancy that. I made it all the way to year 12 and onwards and never even knew that!!

Maybe these little cities need more ways to be known... or maybe I should've paid a lot more attention in geography

Oh, and the moving thing.. oh-my-god ... I just cant find a place that is a decent price and decent to live in!! its like everywhere asks you for 15% more than they know its worth every week and when you DO find a good place its gone within seconds!!

And although I'm only 21 because of life hitting me early I have a whole house to move suzi... not years of valuable collections but yes, 3x beds, washing machine, fridge, lounge sofas, dinning, computer and other office furniture plus all the other extra crap!   my god..

and its all so expensive!! first you need to pay bond $1,200+ THEN first two weeks rent so say $600+ THEN removalists $150+ plus extras such as disconnect/reconnect fees... fuel for moving all ur other crap. i'm sure i'm forgetting 1,000 other fees for this and that .. lord help us suzi!!

OMG lurveit, it's a damned mission hey! You have a great start at your age with your furniture. My ex neighbour is 20 and has like a sofa, bed, fridge, TV, Soundsystem and a bit of crockery. The cost of renting is almost out of reach. Regarding moving costs... removalists $530. (locally to storage) $160. per month storage fee in advance, professional cleaners $450. guaranteed bond clean, redirect mail (cheaper to rent a private box for 13 months@$86).

Future costs: reconnect phone and ADSL over $200. for a pensioner, get furniture out of storage and delivered locally $530-600, one month Bond and two weeks rent in advance $1200. minimum. It is Mind boggling! I have $3k saved for future costs. My CAR is only worth about $500.

Ongoing costs: storage costs of $160 pm in advance
