Greetings from London. Hope you all had a good new year. I had several.
Didn't know you were going Paula. Have a good time. The jet-lag was pretty hard when I went. More so when getting back though. The plane ride is cruel, I hope your joints find themselves in their right place. I'd say not to spend too much money but everythings incredibly expensive once it evens out to what we pay... $39.95 for a McDonalds value meal. Try not to make fun of their accents in public like I did... you'lle find out that you're in the minority. I was just looking at a map and I couldn't find it but there's an insanely busy train station connected to a Mall and my wife and I fell asleep in the MacDonalds there and were woken up by a security gaurd. We had been up for like 30 hours when we landed and then had to wait all day for her brother to fly in from some business he couldn't get out of at work so by the end of the day I was only counting to less than 20 before I was jerking my head back up because I'd nodded off. We were so tired we didn't care though, just found a spot and put our heads on the table. The short nap was a huge help. I wish I could figure out which station it is because you could very well travel to it and I could pretty much describe almost exactly which table it was at (you'de be sure down to 2 or 3 tables) that we looked like a couple of heroin junkies but didn't care. Probably not high on your site seeing list though. There's a lot to do there. Lots to see anyway. I saw Children of Men when I was there. Hadn't even been advertised here. It was much better seen not knowing what it was... that's not what I meant though. |

It amazes me that people find differances in Coke in differant countries but I hear it enough to think that it must be the case... sort of like bread, it can depend upon the local water used.
Edit: In Quito, the altitude is very high, the tallest active volcano is there, I did notice that the coke there has more fizz in it. That makes sense. It comes out as smaller bubles when it fizzes though and it goes down a little differant as a result. |

Yes!! When we went to the pubs, we would sit out back because they had gardens with playgrounds for the kids ( I was 9) and I'd have coke in a glass bottle and chips soo nice |

You need a bottomless pit of money to go to England. On my last trip we had planned for 6 weeks over there, we came back in 4 as the money ran out. |

Is it really expensive there? I don't remember. :S We only went for like 2 weeks. We went twice, once when I was like 9, once when I was like 10, or maybe it was 8 & 9. I have forgotten :S Lol. But yeah, one time we went we stayed in one of these: in New forest. That was fun I went horse riding and there were wild ponies and they actually let you ride properly The other time we did like england in a canal boat, then france, then switzerland (that was so pretty!!) And those are the only times I have been to europe, but I am so going back. Paula did you have any hoola hoops chips?? |
