Will they take them out LB? What exactly do Grommets do? I know years ago we called kids or little surfer's Grommets/grommits/gromits but what are the things put in the ears for? Yes Dara, your cousin must be a sooky lala! Better start talking to your folks about what you want to do for 'Schoolies' and what they expect of you during/for schoolies. |

Haha yeah. Ooh we got our QCS practice results back! My school is so dumb, the averages are so low! lol. (Your score is like averaged between the school, and also between your co-hort, eg all students taking physics, and your final score is calculated on that and also your grades). I got: Writing task - 3 (C) school av- 4+ (d+) state av- 3- (c-) Multiple choice - 37/50 best in our school - 41/50 school av- well.. my friend got 25..... so probably in the twenties.. but she is in accellerated maths with me so that's worrying, and she gets A/A+ in everything.. well.. she has gotten below the schools av in everything so she must not be good at things she can't study for :O Or teachers favoritism Short response (hard!!. it's like, you write a full on essay answer, and get an E for it; they mark you sooooo weirdly!!) - 42/68 No idea bout averages but most people were like 30, but one of my friends got 20 :O She's in all my subjects so that is really bad! |

Um not really. It's like..... core skills... it's weird. It's like the only external exams we do, but it's nothing to do with our subjects or anything. |

I would have to say the NSW HSC and the Victorian equivalent are much harder than the QLD year 12 exams. Just from an over all perspective. |

Fairy penguins even! Oh wait, we can't call them that anymore because it's offensive to gay people...
Bit late comming in on this one , but ..... HeraldSun 15 April : http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,18823887-662,00.html In an act of political correctness gone overboard, Sea World theme park operators on the Gold Coast changed the name of their star attraction to avoid being "offensive". Rebecca Smith, spokeswoman for Sea World, confirmed: "We didn't want to upset the gay community. "We didn't have any complaints about the name of the penguins, but someone thought it could be seen as offensive so we decided to change it to little penguin instead."The name is more politically correct. We're not treating it as a big issue." But the name change has had the opposite effect. Queensland's gay community described it as ridiculous and unnecessary.Sort of like shopping centres not having Christmas decorations to "avoid upsetting Muslims" - who complained ? NO ONE !!!! Some marketing person decided Gays = $$$ / Fairy = Offensive / Offensive = Less Profit But no-one actually ASKED Gay people ( and would have been laughed at , if they had !! ) |

Exactly. It's just the sort of bullsh*t that the media fabricates in order to sell a story. What's so upsetting about Christmas decorations anyway? They have nothing to do with the actual story/religious significance of Christmas, but that's way beyond the point as everybody has the right to express themselves creatively. I've had (Muslim) cousins over the years who have put up Xmas decorations. Why? Because I'm sure it was fun for them. Besides, the christmas cheer is a little hard to avoid. Why should Christians have all the fun, eh? On topic though... WTF is even remotely offensive a "fairy penguin"?! Jeez. I think it's laughable that people would be offended by such STUPID, STUPID trivial matters considering all the hate and discrimination going on in the world. It's displays of so-called political correctness such as these which are only further upholding this wave of intolerance. |

The use of the word 'Fairy' when talking about Homosexuals is derogatory to Gay people IMHO. As is 'Fagot' or 'F ag'. I think that changing the name of Fairy Penguins is utterly and without doubt one of THE stupidest things I have heard this Century. Now they call them 'little penguins' which is not nearly as cute. Tiny Penguins would of been cuter but not as cute as Fairy. What about the 'real' fairies in the world, are they going to be stuffing that up soon also? Tinkerbell must be quaking in her slippers |

They are harder than the QCS (queensland core skills test) but I think our exams are harder, judging from the HSC senior physics syllabus my dad made me learn on the holidays (much easier!) Because in QLD we have to do exams every term for all our subjects + assignments and they all count, + QCS |
