Extractions suck! I've had 8 3 when I've been awake (ow) and 5 during a general in 2005, because 1 was growing sideways so I had to get my gum cut open, owwwwwww!

The cost was more of a pain than actually having the tooth out.

I made up for it today though.  I spent a fortune on clothes.  Since I've lost weight, all my clothes are hanging off me.

Whoohoo Paula on the weight loss! (and new clothes) You will have to tell me about how you are losing the weight in a PM
You also had braces didn't you Dara! Was it your wisdom teeth that you had to go under general for?
About 12 months ago I had a tooth (large lower molar) break off. About one third came out. I pleaded with the Govt Dentist that I needed emergency treatment, to no avail. Since been told to throw an absolute tantrum and they will fit you in. So rang 9 local dentists and got in. Instead of removing my tooth (which I didn't particularly want him to) he cleaned it and built it up with resin after filing down all the razor sharp bits which had cut my mouth to shreds. $250. it cost never have I seen so much money disappear so fast Since turning 45 (eight years ago) I have lost two permanent teeth due to wear and tear and age I take great care of my teeth especially since having braces at age 13 for about 36 months. Two of my sister's and my mother have gum disease which has made their teeth/roots weak I have to be very conscientious with my teeth because of that because it is 'in the family'. It's sad to say goodbye to permanent teeth, isn't it Paula?

I won't have a filling without the needle. I am such a baby when it comes to thinking about a dentist.....I always said, "If some-one wanted to torture me, they just had to threaten to do something to my teeth and I would tell them anything".

Silly + Simpson are lucky that they have good teeth. I look after mine but still I have problems. And no-way do I want false teeth.

Lol SG. I had to get the teeth pulled out because, 1 was sideways, so that and its baby came out, + one baby had no adult underneath, + 2 more randoms to make room for braces? I dunno. Not wisdom teeth suzi
I've never had a filling etc, scary!

Omg, I'm so annoyed about something. In maths we had a no calc graphing test, half the class had 1 question, half the other. I totally practiced, I can do them all, she said, there will be a discontinuity defs.
My q:
y = x^2 + 1/x^2
u find stat pts, nature of them, ints, extremities, discontinuitys etc. So I stuffed up x int (x^4 = -1, i said x =1 when it is not possible, which i knew but im like, it must be one!) i stuffed up nature (stupid mistake) and only found 1 turning pt, it was meant to be 2 parabolas kind of with a discontinuity at x = 0.

the other q was:
y = x^2 - 4 / x - 1
or something kind of like that. anyway, it was a cubic i think, soooo easy. just a squiggle line, x int = 0, y int = 0, i did it in 5 mins after the test just to prove i could.

i made my friend who got the easy one try mine, she stuffed it too, but she'll get an a cuz she was sitting in a good spot. just chance probably ruins my life now. well. my maths mark anyway

so that made me angry and i was telling my dad but he thinks i always blame things on someone else, its always unfair etc, when it's like, duh, it is! So i was just wanting to say something to him that he'd get pissed at me for saying so i left and came on here

anyway, "talent show" (better name but has schools name in it) was on tonight, way good!!

Oh, sorry for horrible grammar/punctuation

Simpson and Silly, get to a dentist NOW for a check up. The health problems teeth can cause are HUGE. Not just in your mouth, but you whole body health. I have only ever had female dentists at the Qld Govt. Dentists and they are gentle and have smaller hands and fingers. When I was 13 the size of the needles used were honestly 3 times bigger than the one's used these days, I almost fainted at the size of them and they hurt heaps. I stopped being 'afraid' of needles once I was diagnosed with diabetes. There is only one nurse at the Pathology that can find my veins and get blood out of me.

When I was young, 15 or so) I was bedridden for at least 6 months. I had that many needles during that time that I was terrified of them. They bent the damned things on me and they shoved them in my back in particular. I had every reason to be terrified. They never diagnosed what was wrong with me and in the end my Mum took me to her and Dad's Chiropractor (he'd been asking her to for months) and I walked in his office door, he looked in my eyes, asked a couple of questions and diagnosed kidney problems due to a disk pressing against my kidneys preventing them from functioning properly (from 10 years earlier when I jumped off a bolting pony and got my foot caught in a stirrup). In one month, the Chiropractor got me well again.

These days needles are a matter of course for me but they have improved 100 fold since my first one that I can remember almost 50 years ago.

Err... my teeth are rubbish. I'll come clean with you guys... I haven't been to a dentist in 12 years. My gums are pretty bad (they've been reddish for years and they're often prone to bleeding) and my four front teeth have decayed a little.

It's not that I'm necessarily afraid to see a dentist. I've just never gotten around to it.

Silly with white teeth? Now there's an image I find difficult to fathom.

Yes..you can always come here and say what you think and get some unbiased real feedback.
I couldn't even follow the question, let alone solve it.

I've never had any serious problems with my teeth, just fillings. Never had a tooth pulled or braces or throbbing pains. My wisdoms haven't come down that I know of, or the teeth next to them (I counted my teeth in a jaw X-ray and came up short) I guess I haven't seen a dentist because I haven't had the need, which is probably no excuse! There's just something about someone doing stuff with sharp instruments in my mouth that I can't stand the thought of, sort of like on Friends with Rachel and her thing with touching eyes and eye drops...
