I have the dreaded lurgy. Started last wednesday night and has progressively gotten worse. Just reading a couple of my posts made on Saturday especially, I can see how sick I was with the grammar and structure of some of them
I am off to the Dr. in an hour and will hopefully get something to make me better ASAP! I had a test for Cushing's Disease last week and results should be back from that. I am seeing a Dr. (not my regular one) for a pinched nerve in my neck which is giving my right shoulder, arm, wrist and hand hell. I am receiving acupuncture from him Because he had never seen me he noticed some things about me including the fact I have the body shape of someone with Cushing's Disease. If that test comes back clear then he said I should ask for a thyroid test off my regular Dr.
My Dr. is happy with these observations by another Dr. not in his same medical centre. Thank goodness because that is better for me.
I may not be on much in the next few days, recouperating!

ADENDUM:
Saturday the first day of spring, would of been my parent's 62nd wedding anniversary but my Daddy died in his 80th year in march 2004. Sunday, also Father's Day, would of been his 83rd birthday. Today would of been my 24th anniversary (but I don't care about that one) and is the 20th anniversary of my ex-father in law's death. Whew.... I think that is all

Hope its not Cushings Syndrome, SuziH...but, if it is, at least you will know and will be able to fight it.  Keep us posted..our thoughts are with you

The best thing if it is cushing's disease is they can reverse it
Yesterday had to pick up two special tablets in a sealed container from the Pathologist. They know me on a first name basis now
I had to stay up last night to take the tablets at 11pm, precisely, staying up another half hour after that for them to absorb before going to bed. This morning at precisely 9am I have to have a blood test.  
Anyhoooo, lol, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Aircrash Investigators, then the Unit, even staying up until the Unit finished at around 11:45pm. Haven't seen the Unit for a while and I must start recording it again.
Suppose I will know the results of this test today, early next week.
I already have diabetes and high blood pressure, to name but two so what's another disease gonna do, if it can be treated... great.  Now I have an empty nest and no car I am the happiest I have been for well over 25 years. Plus I have a gorgeous man in my life who I am crazy about who spends 2 to 4 hours with me on his one day off a week.
Life's pretty damn good

Sounds like you are having the Dexamethasone Suppression Test.
You  know, your diabetes can cause all your present symptoms, you may not have 'another disease'.  
Try and stay positive.....thinking good thoughts is great for the immune system.

I was thinking of having holidays (next year) in Noosa, it will be in July sometime (provided I can get the time off work, holidays are already booked out until May 2008 ) and I was wondering where should I stay - any recomendations ?, and what are the  "Must Do" things should I see while there , any hints local tips   would be greatly appreciated   thanks chris
