Not having a car sounds like a good thing! More walking, cutting down on green house immissions, saving money on petrol and all those little trips to the shops one didn't really need - so you're saving money there too! And probably losing weight, if it was a trip to the shops for delicious fat and sugury foods... Hmmm maybe I don't really need my cars...

Did the boys go around hitting all the girls on the arms?! Heh heh! And was it something parents had to give permission for? Did any girls decide not to get the vaccine?

Haha not too much thank god!
Yeah we had to get permission of course.
Like all the year 10, 11 and 12 girls in aus are getting it.

Some didnt get it

I've lost the reference but several States in the US have banned the vaccination on religious grounds saying that it encourages young girls to have sex

Well Dara, you're probably the only one on here who can be classed as a 'young girl', so what do you think? Will any of your friends or girls you know be more likely to have sex now that they've had the vaccine? Or perhaps, more sex with more guys? (Doesn't the chances of getting cervical cancer increase when there are more sexual partners?)

Here's some irony for you. Looking for the article I read on some US states banning Gardisal on religious grounds I came across this.

http://www.fortbendnow.com/opi.....-vaccination-mandate

The irony is that our Howard was the one who got Gardisal on the MBS after fighting hard for it because Janet Howard survived cervical cancer. Here is an American Howard fighting against immunizing preteen girls with Gardisal and lobbying the administration against it just as hard as our Howard lobbied our administration for it, (Abbott did not want it listed and was against it on religious grounds, though he didn't say it was religious at the time it was generally understood that was his reasoning for not listing it).

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

I cannot understand how anyone can consider immunisation against cancer will lead to promiscuity The contaceptive pill when used on medical grounds to save women, young and old, from the torture of menstruation was also claimed to lead to promiscuity. The majority of the outcry came from far right christian men. Good grief, get a life anyone who believes that. The rate of teenage pregnancies should put paid to that falacy
My daughter was on the contaceptive pill at my instigation and didn't lose her virginity for 2 more years. Tony Abbott is a typical case of the pot calling the kettle black. Didn't he think he was the father of a young man whose mother he had casual sex with while in Uni? Then, low and behold it was another man's son!
The opponents of this breakthrough in medicine don't have a clue what they are talking about

Yes Simpson, it has literally taken a load off. I was concerned as to how I was going to find money for the 6 month rego due in September. If I was in NSW I would get my rego for free (being a pensioner). Up here I got a tiny discount I need to lose weight... and I am not just saying that) and walking is what my Dr. has been trying to get me to do for years
I have my mountain bike back now but haven't ridden it yet. I need to buy a new helmet and a good security chain or two.

I don't think that it would really encourage girls to have sex, I think if they wanted to do that they would have no matter whether they have had the needle or not.

BTW boomslanger "preteen"  girls are not being immunised. This year is yr 10, 11 and 12 get the 1st 2 doses. next year its 8,9 and 10. Then it's just year 8's from 2009.
