how sucky would it be to work as a ice-cream truck driver? one just drove across our street, it comes atleast every second day. it'd have to be the most annoying job..listening to that same old greensleeves tune over and over would drive me insane!! i like greensleeves but listening to any song constantly would make you soon tire of it. hehe, i remember one time the icecream man tuned into the radio instead, he quickly changed back though, don't think anyone recognised it was him. |

and mine also... so that makes Melbourne, Perth and the Sunny Coast! He doesn't play greensleeves here though and in Tamworth years ago he played 'home home on the range' which only made me laugh hysterically. What a hick country town Tamworth is, IMHO, having lived there for 5 years from 1989-1994 |

Yeah, I don't think they were referring to our Home Icecream guys, more likely the Mr Whippy guys who are fat and funny looking. |

'Chaos' with Jason Statham (who I lurve), Wesley Snipes (ditto) and Ryan Phillippe. Labelled a 'thriller'. The other one... I forget because after finding I got 2 wicker man movies all rational thought left me! I know I will remember when I see it. Talking about Icecream men... it is a tad worrying that some icecream men you would normally tell your kids to stay away from BUT he's the icecream man and you can't/don't/wont. Has anyone ever seen the Icecream skit Eddie Murphy does? OMG one of the funniest things I have ever seen. ROFLMTO. |

the one that comes in our cul-de-sac must be a bit of a dill. He comes in to the end and just goes round the circle and straight out. Nobody has a snowballs chance in hell of actually getting out there and buying one, he is long gone. |

Need to have a whinge about something. As most of you know I recently spent 5 weeks or so living with my daughter while looking for (and finding) a new home for myself to rent. She shares her large beautiful rental with a 70 year old man who is just a housemate. He waited a couple of days after she left for her 2 week family trip to NSW while I was still staying with her, so I could mind the house and the pets, to confront me one saturday morning. He stood blocking the office doorway and brought up the subject of 'rent', as in... me paying my share (one third). My daughter and I had discussed the subject before I even moved in and she said she would not accept any money from me, I said I would pay for my share of the phone and electricity. Before she went on her holiday I gave her $200. to help her on her trip. When he broached the subject of money I said 'you should of dicussed this with her BEFORE she left.' He said he thought I would of done that (well technically I had) but in the state of sheer disbelief, I forgot that fact. He then hounded me saying that the electricity was going to be 'through the roof'. It was hot... they have ceiling fans... I had one on in the office on 3 or 2 all the time and he would follow me around turning off every fan I put on if I left the room. I would come back soon after and have to turn the fan back on. He did it in my daughter's living room upstairs as well as the shared office. I told him the fan in the office was on to keep my computer cool as it runs hot and to leave it on PLEASE! Our altercation on that morning escalated when I could feel myself getting ill (high bloodpressure, clinical depression and diabetes). I told him this was a discussion he would have to have with my daughter and told him he was making me ill and to please leave the office and leave me alone. He yelled at me that he would not leave his 'Home' because it was his home (adding my daughter as an afterthought). I rang my daughter in Orange and gave her the rundown on the situation and she said 'Put him on the phone!' so I did. I was shaking and teary by this time, with frustration and anger. She gave it to him with both barrels. She spoke to me again then him again saying she would sort it out when she got back. He stayed at his now ex-girlfriends place for 3 days after that morning. Coward. He never did say he was sorry. I told him during the conversation that I was going to pay my way with the electricity and phone. Even that did not placate him. My daughter confronted him this week and said... so... how much do you think Mum should contribute? What do you think would be fair? He backed down and got flustered and gave a few excuses as to why he thought I could afford to contribute a third of the rent. She shot him down in flames! She got the electricity bill yesterday and it was $20. over an above the usual quarterly account! $20 measily dollars. What a penny pinching pr**k. She could not wait to show him! He only ever pays one quarter of the electricity account because when they got their first account he complained his usual electricity bills were x amount of dollars so my daughter lets him pay what he usually would if he were living alone and she pays the balance. He forgets the house they live in is HUGE, two storied and 2 living areas, 4 bedrooms etc etc. Their lease falls due in less than a month and they are going their separate ways, my daughter is counting down the days! He told her last weekend that she is his only friend. She looked him squarely in the face and said 'if I am your only friend then you had better get out and make some new friends'. He is 70 for goodness sakes, and old enough to be her grandfather. He is even old enough to be MY father. He has no concept of propriety or how to act socially. He even told me two very rude off colour jokes (?) when I was there alone and it made me uncomfortable. Well, that's my rant, just had to get it off my chest |

there are always some scary stories about renting, but SuziH you said that you have been renting for about 18 years ? , you could have almost paid off your own home in that time, ever thought of that ?, rent / repayments , not much difference realy, and then you can call the shots, and not have some old f**t telling you what to do and how much you shoud put towards the cost of living. |
