it is a wee bit warm here lately ... I have had to resort to going for my daily walk at 5:00am in the dark - i'm worried i'm gonna walk into the river instead of around it - i need one of those little hats with the lights on ...thank the good lord for air-conditioning - apparently it is already 38 outside my house right now (9:30 in the morning) according to the thermometer on my outside wall |

Temperature 24.6°C, Humidity 88%, gentle breeze from the East-SouthEast. Light cloud cover. I am not even feeling the humidity. Rarely does the Sunny Coast get up to 40, very rarely! I love the weather where I live, 99% of the time.

That's right rub it in Suzi...43.7°C here right now...and I keep thinking of the poor folks who live in Ceduna or Coober Pedy (way way way north of Adelaide - right in the middle of nowhere) as it's normally about 5-8°C hotter up there. Then again...I find once it gets to 40 extra degrees really don't make that much difference. To quote Robin Williams "It's Hot. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn Hot" Hey Devman...where's my smilie for melting in a puddle of sweat? I guess this one'll have to do but it really doesn't capture the subtle nuances of my feelings right now |

Oh I couldn't agree more Paula...I can't cope with humidity at all...I love Port Douglas in FNQ (my favourite place in Aus I reckon) but I can only go in the dead of winter and even then I reckon I have about one third the energy I do anywhere else on the planet. Just enough to hold a beer and watch the pretty fishies |

After being locked in the house all day yesterday to keep cool we decided to go to the beach at about 9:00pm...just to get outside mainly and figured a stroll on the hard sand with the water lapping at our feet would be at least semi-comfortable. Bit hard to stroll along the beach when the entire population of the city is trying to do the same thing! I have never seen so many people at the beach in my entire life - reminded me of those horrid European beaches which are 1 metre wide and squeeze thousands of people in so that you're sitting on top of strangers. There were people EVERYWHERE...in the water, on the sand, on the jetties, on the foreshore. All that teeming, sweating humanity We tried 3 different beaches then gave up and went back to the air-conditioning. Will be quite pleased to see the end of this particular heat wave |

Maybe in summer but winter is constant sunshine ..summer is our rainy season In brisbane about 28 degrees overcast Agree about the humidity if it was not for a/c no one could sleep in brisbane during the summer. Bridgetown looks nice about now |

I think I love all but about 50 odd days of the year here on the Sunshine Coast. Although it is wet in summer, as fajo said, it's our wet season, it is warm enough to still enjoy swimming or the outdoors to a degree as long as it's not teaming with rain or hail. Some people near the Maroochy River even get to swim down their streets at high tide in the wet season!! I survive without aircon as do many others but we'd all die if we didn't have fans, for sure. School is about to go back (tomorrow) and as we all know up here, that is time for the rains to start, especially at the precise time that school is getting out in the afternoon, just to make parents lives harder and drench the students. I am glad those days are over for me. |

Our "cool" change seems to have arrived, but there is a bushfire burning south of us and the smoke is visible, so it's impossible to open the windows as yet. It is driving my cat nuts; she's yowling like a feral. She alerted me to the smoke with her noise. |

Current temp down south is 30C. . a bit better than 40C. . the smoke must be from KI.
