I couldn't say because they each have their place in our lives and are each different in their characteristics. My daughter has two cats who obey her as a dog would and when it's time for them to come in at around 5-6pm every night, she calls them and they come. She is in charge of them. Her rats have a large multi storied aviary and they are very personable and easily handled and the don't smell. I have 3 budgies and for me they are perfect as I rent and am not allowed a dog or cat. My birds are let out of their cage every morning and have their wings clipped so they play on their cage or on the coffee table and at times climb down onto the floor and run around then climb back up to their cage. The only time I go crazy with my birds is when they moult. The amount of feathers they can lose in a moult makes me wonder how they are not featherless. Dogs are great and very companionable but need a lot of attention as in exercise, training, grooming and regular vet care. Being a huge animal lover I would have all kinds of animals if I had a home on acreage. Some people are 'Dog People' and some may be 'Cat People' and others (like myself) would have a zoo if they could. |

the best pet to have is a guinea pig. though they have short lives the love and companionship is priceless. they are easy to care for and as you can tell we love them to bits. we had one guinea pig called petal who was more human than guinea pig. she would sleep with me, eat my cereal with me, follow me around. she was the best little angel we ever had and now she is with the angels.

My only pet I have now, is my cat Jasmin. Now my kids have left home, the household almost works around her. My husband laughed the other day when I admolished him for going in our bedroom and turning on the light and waking her. |
